It appeared to be the last day of the festival, the citywide party. Jack stood on the stand with his family watching the happy citizens celebrate the new harvest, music flitted throughout the whole town and the sounds of joyful laughter rang in the boy's ears. His eyes scanned the crowd landing on Evienne standing in the center of the dancers laughing as her brother spun her around. He stood and nodded to his father who smiled proudly back before he walked out into the crowd and up to the girl. He put his hand on her shoulder and she turned to look at him with a large smile, "May I have this dance?" He asked holding out his hand. She turned back to her brother who nodded and walked off to dance with someone else. She turned to Jack and they started the energetic dance again. Laughter flowed from the two as Jack spun them around in the perfectly timed circles. After the music had faded out and the dance and ended the crowd stopped moving and clapping erupted as the band set up for the next song. Jack looked over to Evienne and grabbed her hand, when her eyes met his he nodded his head to the edge of the crowd and led her away from the center of the festivities. She simply smiled and followed after him as he pulled her through the crowd and to the edge of the festivities, where he continued to lead her away the the large crowd.

"Where are we going?" She asked the further away they got from the town square. But Jack's only response was to look back at her with a smile, which caused her to sigh and continue following after the boy her better judgement losing to her curiosity.

Soon enough though they arrived at the Lake that was still frozen over and reflected the moons light in a beautiful glow, Jack stopped on its edge and turned to Evienne. He took a fortifying breath before he began to speak carefully, "Evienne," She looked at him with a gentle smile, "'Hear my soul speak. The very instant that I saw you did my heart fly to your service, there resides to make me slave to it, and for your sake, I am the patient legman.' but if you would allow," He said as he fell to one knee and pulled a small box out from behind him, Evienne's eyes widened with realization, "I would like to end my waiting." He finished as he opened the box to reveal and elegantly carved ring that resembled that of two vines that interwove with each other, "Will you marry me?" he asked nervously.

Evienne fell to her knees in front of the boy as tears filled her eyes, "Of course." She said as her arms wrapped around Jack tightly. Jack on the other hand breathed out a sigh of relief as his own arms wrapped around the girl just as tightly and his face buried in her neck.

The guardians all turned to look at Jack, his eyes glued to the scene playing out in front of him. "I-" He started, "I was engaged." He finished quietly. The others looked at each other before Tooth placed a comforting hand on his shoulder, but Jack's attention was still glued to the scene as it shifted yet again.

The scene changed to Jack sitting at a table with both his mother, Evienne's mother and Evienne herself. At the moment he had his face buried in Etienne's arm as the three women chatted about plans for the wedding. Evienne nudged Jack's head with the arm he was resting on he grunted in annoyance, "Jack, it would be wonderful if you gave you input to any of these plans." She said sweetly but Jack's response was just another grunt. Evienne rolled her eyes she turned back to his mother, "How do you get hime to do anything?" She asked with a laugh and Jack peaked up ever so slightly from her arm with a glare.

"Well," his mother started, "If he won't help in here maybe he could make himself useful and go watch his sister." His mother said in a tone that was more a command than a suggestion, and Jack stood with a grumpy expression on his face and walked out of the room grumbling to himself.

"Be careful!" Evince called after him as she turned back to the others.

Jack walked out of the house to see his sister playing with her friends not far out from their house, A smile grew on his face as he walked to the group. As soon as Emma saw him her face lit up, "Jack!" She said as she and her friends ran happily to the teen. "Are you going to play with us?" she asked happily.

"Yeah," Her friend said excitedly, "Can we play hide-and-seek again?" She asked happily and the others agreed with her with enthusiasm.

Jack laughed, "Sure." He said as he turned to a tree and buried his head in his arm and listened to the giggling behind him, "One, two, three, four," he heard the scrambling of tiny footsteps behind him and shushes as the laughter slowly got quieter. "five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. Ready or not here I come." he said as he turned around and observed the surrounding area. Off to his left he heard crunching and smirk as he set off in that direction and sure enough eh caught the first of the kids hiding behind the tree, "gotcha." he laughed as he caught the boy before he could run away, "Now tell me where the others are." he said in a mock voice.

The child laughed as Jack lifted him over his shoulder, "Never shall I betray my comrades!" He laughed.

Jack grunted in disappointment, "Then you are of no use to me." He said as he set the boy down again, "Now be gone with you." He said in a very overdramatic tone, and the little boy ran off with laughter following after him. Jack smiled at him before turning around and once again looking for any sign of the other two girls. His eyes scanned and as he slowly stepped through the small wooded area a sliver of shite caught his eye and he turned with a smile at another tree. He cautiously stepped closer and then launched behind the tree, "Ha, gotcha." he said happily and the poor girl standing behind it screamed with giggles sash ran off before Jack could catch her. "Two out of three." He said as once again began to prowl around looking for his little sister. He sighed the longer it took to find her before the other children came into view from around a tree with smiles on their faces, and thats when he heard the laughter from above them. He looked up to see his sister sitting happily in a tree with a smile on her face as her legs swung back and forth.

"You lose." She said happily as her friends laughed harder, "They had to help you." she explained and Jack bowed his head in defeat.

"Are you going to come down from there?" He asked as he walked closer to the tree and Emma nodded. But as she stood on the branch to climb down the horrid should of cracking reached Jack and in a flash as Emma fell with a scream Jack was suddenly below her and catching her before she hit the ground. The other children stopped laughing as they ran to Jack's side frantically asking Emma if she was okay.

Jack placed her on the ground and she turned to her friends, "Of course I'm fine, Jack would never let anything happen to me." She said as she looked back to her brother who smiled at her. "Lets play another game." she said and Jack suddenly found himself being dragged away to play with the children.

The memories changed yet again to a wintery scene that must have been months later by the state of the landscape around them, and was Jack walking peacefully through it with his sister at his tail and skates dangling from his hands. Emma turned to look at him as the walked, "Why couldn't Evienne come again?" she asked.

"Well," Jack said as they reached the lake and they set to work getting their skates on, "she has to help mom plan the wedding, it takes a lot of work." He explained as he helped the girl to her feet.

"And of course you won't give it." She shot back and Jack looked at her shocked raising his hand to his chest.

"I am wounded." he said in mock pain.

Emma looked at him with raised eyebrows, "and yet here you are not helping." She responded as she skated away from the boy.

"Wow," Jack deadpanned, "You're getting as bad as Evienne."

"And how bad is that?" A voice asked behind Jack and he looked down nervously as he turned around to see Evienne standing with her arms crossed.

"Not bad at all darling." He said in a sweet voice and the girls brows simply raised at him, he cleared his thought, "I thought you were helping mom."

"I was," She responded, "and now I'm not. And I was hoping to surprise my wonderful fiance, but I see that he would rather insult me." She said with a smirk, "So I will just leave him to that." Sh said as she turned and walked away, leaving a laughing Emma and pouting Jack in her wake.

Jack turned around to glare at the laughing girl who just looked at him with a huge smile, "You are the one who said it, not me." She taunted as she continued skating around the lake.

"Oh hush you."

"You still have not gotten any smoother." Bunny laughed, ignoring the glare Jack shot him.

"When this is over I am never talking to any of you again." Jack responded, turning back in time to see the memories changing once again.

The scene changed o Jack once again sitting at the table with a bored expression on his face and his mother bombarding him with questions about the ceremony, only this time it was just them. Jack finally buried his head in his arms with a groan, "If I had known how much work a wedding took I wouldn't have asked her." He said into the table and his mother looked at him with a roll of her eyes.

"This is the easy part, dear." She replied, "Just wait until after, if she doesn't kill you within the first year of your marriage she will at least become very irritable." She joked and Jack looked up at her with a smile.

"And she'll get even worse when you have children, I know your mom did." his dad as he entered the kitchen and smiled to his wife who looked at him with an irritated look on her face.

"And then after the children comes aging and like your father your humor will get more annoying." She responded looking directly at her husband with her right eyebrow arching. The two parents then burst into laughter, "But love makes all of that bearable." She said as his father walked over and gave her a kiss.

"Besides," his father said turning to his son, "Your part in the planning of the wedding is quite simple. Evienne has the hard part."

"How?" Jack asked.

"Her family has to pay for it." His father said with a laugh, and Jack's mother's laughter joined in as Jack just shook his head at them.

Jack stood and walked into the tore room to see Emma playing with her dolls on the floor, he smiled, "You have it great Emma." He said drawing her attention, "Growing up is not that fun." He explained and Emma laughed.

"But if you stayed young forever you would miss out on so much." Evince said from behind him, her grey cloak covered in a light dusting of snow from outside.

He turned and smiled at her, "When did you get here?" he asked as he walked up and gave her a hug and kissed her cheek.

She laughed shortly, "You are very unobservant, I just walked in and was not that quite about it. I wanted to make sure you knew I was behind you so you wouldn't insult me again." She jabbed and Jack smirked at her. "I wanted to see if you would like to go for a walk with me, give me an excuse to get a break from planning." She explained.

"My pleasure m'lady." He said as he offered her his arm. Evienne gave hm a grateful smile and accepted his offer and he led them out of the house with a wave to his parents.

As the door closed behind her she let out a sigh, "Thank you, I really was going insane from all the planning." She said and laughed, "Maybe we should just elope and not deal with the grander of a ceremony." She said and Jack chuckled with her.

"That typically requires going to a different town, does it not?" He asked.

"Not necessarily, we could just steal away the father and have him do it today." She responded and Jack stopped. She turned to look at him quizzically.

"Is this really what you want?" he asked nervously.

She smiled at him lovingly, "I care not about the ceremony, I only care about what comes after it, spending the rest of my life with you." She said as she leaned in and gave him a kiss. As she pulled back Jack and a huge smile on his face and she laughed as she turned and started to walk ahead of him. Jack bent down and picked up a ball of snow with a devious smile before throwing at her back, she stumbled slightly when it made contact and slowly turned to look at him, "Oh you are going to pay for that Overland." She threatened and Jack laughed in response as he ran away, his fiancé hot on his tail. The two laughed as she caught up to him and tackled him to the snowy ground. The tumbled and laughed and in the end Jack landed on top of her and he began to dump snow on the poor girls head.

Evienne in turn laughed and whacked at his arms to get him to stop before finally managing to push him off of her to the side. Jack laid in the snow beside her with a sigh of content and looked to see her with the same smile and her eyes closed. He just sat there memorizing every detail of her in that moment. Her long brown hair was loose from its normal bun and it fell around her a stark contrast to the shite of the snow. Her grey cloak fell to the side to reveal a normal brown dress that had blue embroidery of snowflakes that were place in random spots along the top and middle of her dress, it was stitched in a way that made it look like it was falling from her shoulders to the bottom of the dress where a line of them went all around. He looked at her face and as always it was just as beautiful as ever. Her eyes were closed and her lips were pulled into a relaxed smile, her skin pale enough that she could disappear into the snow itself. He stared at her for a moment longer before her eyes opened and she turned her head to look at him.

"Three weeks." She said softly and Jack looked at her confused.

"Three weeks?" He asked.

"Till our wedding day." She said with a smile, and Jack's face filled with understanding and a smile came across his own face.

"That's to long." Evince laughed at his response before sitting up.

"I suppose I have tried avoiding my duties for long enough," She turned to him as he propped himself up on his elbows. "I should get back to helping my mother plan." She continued and Jack nodded as he stood and held a hand out to help her. She gladly accepted and when she had stood she brushed the snow from her clothes as Jack still held her hand.

"Oh, hello you too." A voice said behind them and Evienne groaned, "I'm surprised to see you out, don't you have things to do?" She directed at Evienne.

"I swear one day I will finally free myself of you." She said with malice as she began to lead Jack away from her without so much as a glance behind her.

"I'm shocked to have not received an invitation to your wedding." Morgan continued, following after the two.

"We wish for you to be as far away from our wedding as possible." Jack deadpanned, and Morgan stopped in her tracks and Jack could only imagine the look on her face with pride swelling in him as Evienne stifled a laugh beside him.

"At least you finally figured out how to talk to that one." Bunny said, "I wonder what happened to her?" he asked and Jack looked at the spirit with confusion on his face, "Well, we never really know what happens to those we leave behind. At least you don't."

"Shut up, kangaroo." Jack said exasperated as he turned to the memories once again, smiling at the chuckles the others gave him and ignoring the glare Bunny was trying to use to burn a hole in the back of his head.

The scene changed to show Jack standing in Evienne's family's living room with skates swung over his shoulder and a light short cape pulled over his shoulders, Emma standing next to him with a huge smile also with skates slung over her shoulders.

"I still think it is far to into the spring season for you to go skating." evince said as she looked at the two ready to leave .

Jack laughed and turned to her, "I checked the ice this morning and it is perfectly thick for this." He said with a reassuring smile, "We'll be fine."

Evienne pursed her lips, "I just don't think you should risk it." She continued with concern clear in her tone.

Jack walked up to her and grabbed her hands in his, "I promise, we will be back for dinner." He said and she looked up into his eyes, "Trust me." he said softly and she sighed in defeat.

"Just don't damage yourself to badly," She asked, "I don't want a bruised and bloody groom in two days." She laughed and Jack smiled.

"I wil try." He said before kissing her cheek and walking back to Emma who grabbed his hand and started dragging him excitedly out of that house .

"Be careful." his mother called as she walked to the door.

Jack turned back to her with a roll of his eyes, "We will." he said with a laugh as Emma continued to drag him out the door and to the lake. Arriving at the lake he helped his sister put her skates on and helped her to stand and get to the lake. They skated around for a couple minutes with laughter and joy before Emma froze at a deafening cracking beneath her. Jack look at her in horror, "Emma don't move." He said and Emma nodded her head. He bent down and took his skates off carefully and looked to his side, where he saw a stick to the side just out of his reach, he turned back to his sister with fear in his eyes. "It's okay. It's ok." he said with an outstretched arm as he crouched down. "Don't look down." He said quickly to draw the poor girls attention back to him, "Just look at me."

"Jack." She said with fear, "I'm scared." The ice cracked more beneath her feet.

"I know. I know." He said as he straightened a bit and taking a step and feeling the ice begin to crack under his foot. "But, you're gonna be all right." He said nervously, "You're not gonna fall in." he began searching for his words before his eyes lit up, "We're gonna have a little fun instead!" He said with a smile.

"No we're not!" Emma shot back as she fought back tears.

"Would I trick you?" He asked.

"Yes! You always play tricks!"

"Well, not this time." he said with a laugh, "I promise, I promise. You're gonna be... You're gonna be fine." he said and Emma looked at him nervously. "You have to believe in me." he said and Emma looked at him with wide eyes as she let out a scared breath. "You want to play a game?" he asked happily, "We're gonna play hopscotch! Like we play everyday." He said as he straightened out fully. "it's easy as one," He took a step and heard the cracking beneath his feet, so he stood on one foot and pretended to be falling and Emma laughed, "Two. Three!" He said as he hoped to where the ice was thicker, and picked up the shepherds hook behind him, "All right. Now it's your turn." He said holding out the stick. Emma looked down nervously, "One.." He said as she took her first step and the ice cracked more beneath her, "That's it, that's it." he reassured as she gasped. "Two." The cracking came again. "Three!" he said as he hocked the hook around her and yanked her behind himself, in turn taking her place. Emma shook her head as she looked up from the Ice at Jack who had a relieved smile on his face. She stood to walk to her when the ground broke beneath his feet and he fell into the ice water.

"Jack!" Emma shouted, her screams dying as his vision faded.

The memories sudden stopped and cast the Guardians out of them in a swirl of colors, Emma screams echoing through them. Jack stared at the canister in his hands breathing heavily as the others all shook their head trying to regain their bearings. Tooth looked to the boy standing with tears in his eyes.

"Jack?" She asked as she flew cautiously over to him.

"Two days." he said sadly and the others looked to each other confused before looking back at him, "two days before my wedding and I died." He explained without looking up and Tooth placed a comforting hand on his shoulder as the others walked up to him to do the same.

"I'm sorry mate." Bunny sympathetically said and Jack hung his head even more.

"Why would Manny hide this from me?" he asked his head raising to show his anger. He walked away from the others and glared at the moon through the roof, "Why would you hide that?!" he shouted angrily, "Why would you leave me with nothing for three hundred years?! What could you possibly have to explain this?!" He continued shouting and the other shared a nervous look behind him. "There was nothing in there that needed to be hidden from me! So why?!"

Suddenly a bright stream of light shone from the moon, blinding the Guardians, and as it retreated left in its wake stood a tall figure adorned in a brilliant silver suit with slicked back silver hair and pure white skin. The others gasped as they fell to their knees, Jack just glared at the man. "Why did you do it." He asked angrily.

"I did not do what you blame me for." Manny responded.

But Jack continued to glare at him, "If you didn't then what did?!" he shouted angrily.

"A magic more powerful than mine and far more ancient." He responded and Jack did;t speak as he continued glaring at him, "All I know of your memories, is that a powerful magic was trapped in them by a force that I understand not."

"What powerful magic?" Jack asked still angry.

"I know not that either."

"Why did you say it had been trapped in my memories?" he asked, his voice quiet now.

"Viewing them more likely than not released the magic upon the world again." Manny answered and Jack looked at him with concern, "I wish I could tell you who restricted your memories but I don't and I could not give them back to you as the magic that took them is far greater than mine own." He sympathetically said as he looked at the boy who was holding back tears. "But for now we must find the magic they unleashed and stop it." He said and looked to the others. "we must go to where it was originally trapped."

"Burgess." Jack said with his head hung, "That's where it was trapped, that's where it will be."

"For now." Manny responded, "We know not how fast this force and move, we must hurry." He said and looked to North, "Snowglobe."

North nodded and pulled the swirling object out of his jacket. "Burgess." he whispered into it before breaking it on the ground and the others all jumped into the swirling portal.

Manny turned to Jack, "We must go young Frost." He said and Jack looked up at him with an unreadable expression before Jumping after the others, followed closely by the others.

They were spit out on the other side right by the lake and they all looked around at their surrounding area, trying to find any sign of the magic force. All they got was a sudden rush of wind followed by a whisper and suddenly the ground began to shake and they all tried to keep their balance. A moment later it stopped and the forest became as normal, quiet and still the sound of traffic being al they heard.
