Hours had pasted and it was now late in the afternoon and the airport office was surrounded by many ghouls and more were coming by the minute. Juno and her companions were trapped inside with nowhere to run, but they also had one sick sheep who needed medical treatment. Cosmo looked around and found some spare cloths in her size in a box in the closet, but also found a small TV. Jack the Labrador carried the TV to the middle of the office as Cosmo changed cloths in the office bathroom.
"I hope this TV works!" Jack said as he placed the TV on the office desk and plugged it in.
Everyone gathered around the TV, but the thing was not working. Free messed around the antenna trying to get a picture to appear on the screen. "I think this thing is fucking broken!" growled the lion. Legoshi smacked the side of the TV and the screen was fixed. "Thanks for the help." Free said with a smile.
The wolf looked at the lion with a look of humor on his face. "You're welcome." he said and took a seat next to Haru. The group thought that maybe there was something on the news about what was happening and what was causing it to happen. "It's on!" Legoshi exclaimed seeing screen come to life.
The TV was working, and the news channel was on. The news castor who was a bull made his report. "Ladies and Gentlemen, an outbreak of death and destruction is sweeping the country and there are no reasons for these attacks." he stated as he read the reports that were handed to him. "These attacks are being committed by all kinds of animals and like I said before no reason at all."
Cosmo who was now wearing a white t-shirt, black hip skirt, and black high heel shoes sat against the wall with Free. "It's not just happening here." grumbled Free as he checked his pistol.
"Quiet!" whispered Cosmo giving the lion a bump with her elbow.
On the TV the bull news castor then picked up a paper and looked disbelieving at it. "It has been established that the bodies of the resonantly dead are…." he wiped his head with his shirt sleeve and took a deep breath as if it was his last. "The resonantly dead are returning to life and attacking the living."
With that the group now knew that this was what some would call the end of the world.
"You got to be fucking kidding!" groaned Sheila as she tried to keep Peach warm.
The news castor looked at the paper some more. "There is some good news though," he stated with a small smile. "Rescue stations are being set up away from the major cities and will be protected by armed soldiers. Also, there are medical workers at every station to help anyone who has been hurt in anyway." he explained looking for the next report.
Sheila was pleased to hear that report and saw a list of rescue stations names on the TV she knew that Peach could be helped. "If we can get Peach to one of the rescue stations, we can get help for her!"
Free looked at Sheila as if she sighed their death warrants. "How can we get out of here? The place is surrounded!" he grumbled.
Cosmo who was now wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans looked at the sick sheep. "Peach also can't walk because she's too sick and weak." she stated with a look of sorrow.
Louis who was looking out the boarded window turned his attention to the group. He knew that their chances of survival were very slim, but that had to do something, or they all would die. "Those things are so slow!" he stated as he looked back out the window and watching the ghouls outside. "We could just walk right by them, and we wouldn't have to run."
Pina looked at the deer with a frown. "You going to carry that girl through that army of creeps out there?" he asked with a snare.
"I can carry the girl!"
Ibuki had only one thing on his mind about Peach. "How did she get sick?"
Sheila took hold of the sick sheep's right arm. "When we were leaving the school when all this started to happen one of those things grabbed her…."
"Bit her on the arm!" Pina grumbled as he took a drink of water.
Louis lowered his head in fear and concern. "Who knows what kind of disease those things carry!"
Just then the sounds of gunfire were heard. Free and Legoshi looked out the window and saw three army supply trucks driving up the road and there were men in the back shooting at the ghouls. The group breathed a sigh of relief believing that they were going to be rescued and Peach would be able to get so medical treatment. Louis's smile faded because the one who was leading the trucks was someone that he hated so much.
"Melon" sneered Louis clutching his fists.
Melon was a criminal who was born to a gazelle father and a leopard mother. He grew into a psycho who loved to rape, murder, and eat his victims. He was a hybrid with features of both species, including horns, a narrow skull, and sharp claws and teeth. Physically, he was tall and had a slender body shape like that of a leopard's and had a long tail. His fur was colored yellow and had leopard marks all over his body. To cover them up, Melon had a tattooist cover them with melons.
Louis and his friends could tell this was no rescue party, but a devil coming to claim their lives. They had to find a way to escape or die at the hands of a hybrid psycho, but also die by being torn apart by the living dead. They just had to find a way to escape because Peach did not have much time left.
As Melon's men began to slaughter the undead, the psycho hybrid took a sniff of the air. A creepy smile appeared on his face as he looked around at all the hangers and buildings. "Louis! Come out and play." he cackled before splitting a zombie's head right open with an axe.
"Shit!" Louis cursed under his breath. "He knows I'm here."
Legoshi was looking at the trucks that Melon had led and had an idea. "If we can grab one of those trucks we could escape and get Peach some help." he explained turning to his friends.
With that plan everyone was in agreement. It was the only way for them to survive and it was not going to be easy. It was going to be dangerous because they had to avoid a gang of killers and an army of the living dead.
