Chapter 40, Part 2B; Clouds on the Horizon:

It was a typical day at Blight Industries as Odalia signed off an delivery while Kikimora was in the pilot seat of an airship with Coven Scouts and Abomatons on board.

"I was devastated to hear of your demotion, Kikimora," Odalia said.

Kikimora had a very annoyed and tired look on her face.

"Please stop talking to me," she said.

Odalia didn't listen as she finished signing the clipboard.

"Personally, I liked you more than that turncloak Golden Guard. Ugh, if only there was a way to show Belos your true worth," she said.

"If only there was a way to show Belos," Kikimora mocked before huffing.

"Mmm, let's get out of here," she grumbled.

The ship left Blight Industries. Amity and the twins were shown hiding behind a pile of trash to watch Odalia from a distance.

"She won't believe us!" Emira whispered.

"Even if she did, she won't care," Edric said.

Amity sighed.

"Someone has to tell Mom about the Draining Spell or else she and Dad are helping Belos hurt people," she said.

Amity then saw Alador approaching. She gasped and pulled the twins down out of sight. The three siblings crawled to the side of the trash pile to watch Odalia and Alador. The Blight matriarch chuckled.

"I've got that little gremlin on the hook! She'll be the perfect test subject for our new product," Odalia said.

Alador rubbed her neck.

"Don't you think it's odd that they need this much security for the Day of Unity? Perhaps we should reconsider this deal," he said.

Odalia gave him a look.

"Blights always uphold their end of the deal, dear," she said.

Odalia then raised her eyebrow.

"Or should I reconsider ours?" she asked, grabbing her necklace.

Odalia narrowed her eyes.

"It might be time for the kids to play a more active role in Blight Industries. I could start the paperwork right now," she threatened.

Alador stayed silent as he had a conflicted expression on his face. He walked away with Odalia behind him as she put her necklace away. Amity smiled.

"Hey, twins, Dad might listen!" she said, turning to her brother and sister only to find them gone.

Amity was confused and looked over the trash pile.

"Guys?" she asked.

A shadow suddenly loomed in front of her and Amity turned to face her mother. The twins were held captive by an Abomaton and Odalia looked at her youngest daughter angrily.

"Hiding behind trash, Amity? To think my children are so painfully predictable in their deceit! You're. Grounded," Odalia said.

Amity glared at her in response.

At the CATT's headquarters:

Luz was leaning against the railing of the balcony. She wasn't wearing her old attire. Instead, she now wore Eda's old letterman jacket, a light gray shirt underneath, a pair of brown trousers and brown boots. Her hair was also tied into a small ponytail due to her hair getting longer. Luz sighed as she pulled out her little game device, trying to decipher Amity's messages. Kai and Hunter walked out onto the balcony. Kai was also wearing some new clothes: A one-sleeved, black rimmed, dark orange waistcoat, which he left zipped and tucked in, the sleeve covered his left arm, leaving his entire right arm exposed, his iron gauntlets which had been cleaned strapped to his wrists, a black skin tight muscle shirt underneath, a sheath strapped to his waist holding his sword which was given to him by Kendrick, his bandana and scarf, black jeans with brown straps hanging from the sides and maroon combat boots with buckles. Kai walked over to join his little sister on the railing.

"Still no luck?" he asked.

Luz shook her head.

"I don't know what's happening. All I can get is "grounded", "come quick" and then nothing," she said.

Kai frowned slightly.

"I can bet my ass that Odalia got to her and the twins," he said.

Hunter blinked.

" She got you two, Willow and Gus expelled from Hexside, right?" he asked.

Kai nodded.

"Yeah and she tried to kill Luz with her abomatons," he said.

Hunter huffed.

"Man. Hard to believe Amity and the twins are related to her," he mumbled.

Luz and Kai agreed as Eda walked out onto the balcony.

"Hey, Darius called a meeting and he wants everyone to be present," she said.

The three teens nodded and they walked to the table where everyone else was.

"Okay. We have a couple of weeks until the Day of Unity begins and Belos activates the Draining Spell," Raine said.

"And everyone in the Boiling Isles is taken out in one fell swoop," Darius added, knocking over some battle planning figurines.

Kendrick shook his head.

"Not everyone. The spell is targeting those with Coven Sigils. It'll use the nine types of magic as ingredients for the spell itself. It's channeled through each of the Coven Heads during the duration of the eclipse," he said.

Kai furrowed his brow.

"So, how do we stop it?" he asked.

Raine rubbed their neck.

"We're working on that. We have to make sure our plan is 100% capable of stopping the Day of Unity," they said.

"Until then, we have to be prepared for any kind of attack from the Emperor's coven. I get the feeling that Abomaton might've sent out a distress signal before Kendrick destroyed it," Darius said.

Kendrick nodded.

"Which means we have to be very careful when walking in the open and more vigilant, got it?" he asked.

The others nodded.

"Meeting dismissed," Raine said.

The group left the meeting room to get back to their own things. Kai, Luz, Hunter and King were all sitting in the lounging area of the base as the Latina girl looked at her game device sadly. Eda, Kendrick and Raine walked into the lounging area. Eda noticed the downcast look on Luz's face.

"Hey, what's with the long face?" she asked, bending down beside her.

Luz sighed.

"I'm worried about Amity. I'm getting a bad feeling that Odalia probably did something to her," she said.

Kendrick huffed and shook his head.

"I will never understand what Alador sees in her," he said.

Raine raised an eyebrow.

"You're the one who dated her back in Hexside," they said.

Kendrick smacked Raine in the arm to shut them up as Luz, Hunter, King and Kai's jaws dropped.

"You dated Odalia!?" Kai exclaimed.

Kendrick sighed.

"Not "date her" date her. I took her to Grom like once when I was 15," he said.

Kai shook his head.

"What were you thinking?" Kai asked.

The others laughed as Kendrick lightly smacked his son upside the head. Eda looked at Luz before smiling.

"You want to save her," she said.

Luz looked at her shocked.

"I never said--" Luz said.

Eda gave her a smirk.

"Ooh, but you wanna. I can see it all over your face," she said teasingly.

Luz blinked.

"Of course I want to, but I have to stay and help prepare for the Day of Unity," she said.

Kai placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Luz, it's okay. Like Raine said, we've got a couple of weeks until that. I think that's enough time to save Amity," he said, smiling.

Luz blinked before looking towards Kendrick and Raine. Kendrick folded his arms.

"Love can make you do stupid things sometimes," he said.

He gave Luz a smile.

"But, it's worth it all in the end. You should go," Kendrick said.

Raine smiled.

"I agree. It'd be good to have some extra help with preparations," they said.

Luz smiled.

"Thanks," she said.

She turned to the three other kids.

"You guys coming?" she asked.

They gave her smiles.

"Hell yeah! Amity's my friend," Kai said.

Kendrick grimaced.

"Erm…sorry Little Camila, but Kai can't come with y'all," he said.

Kai looked at him confused.

"What? How come?" he asked.

"We have some training to do so I can help you master your mage mode," Kendrick said.

Kai blinked and sighed.

"Ah man! Sorry, Luz," he said.

Luz gave him a smile.

"It's fine. Hunter, King and I will go," she said, standing up.

Kai nodded.

"Good luck. And tell Amity I said "sup" will ya?" he said.

Luz nodded and she, King and Hunter walked out of the base. Kai looked at his father.

"So what kind of training are we doing?" he asked.

Kendrick smiled.

"You'll see. Now come on," he said.

Kai nodded and stood up. Meanwhile with Luz and the other two, they had gotten a ride from Katya to take them to Blight Manor but they stopped at a random part of the forest.

"Why are we stopping?" Hunter asked as he, Luz and King climbed off.

Katya gave them a smile.

"To meet your security escort. Darius insisted. See ya!" she said, flying off.

Luz huffed.

"We don't need a security escort!" she said.

"Did you hear that guys?" a voice said.

Luz and Hunter turned to see Willow, Gus and Viney in new outfits. Willow was wearing a sleeveless goldenrod vest, a mid-length sleeved chartreuse shirt with a gold button, white collar and cuffs, a chartreuse gem and blue tie, blue shorts, silver and slate-gray leggings and maroon heeled boots. Gus was wearing a light cyan tunic with white baggy sleeve, a fuchsia belt and lining, steel blue tights, the magic amplifier that he got from Adrian around his neck like a necklace and red-violet boots. Viney wore a half black, half gray zipped jacket, a violet-blue shirt underneath, dark red leggings and black combat boots.

"Yeah, I know, I guess we'll just have to go home," Gus said, shrugging.

Viney nodded as she smirked.

"Welp, it's been fun. See you around Hunter and Luz the human," she said, giving a two fingered salute as Willow and Gus laughed.

Luz chuckled as she started to tear up.

"Wait. Wait, wait, wait! Of course I want you around!" she said, running to hug them.

The four teens embraced each other as Hunter walked towards them and King jumped onto Gus's shoulder, earning a laugh from the Porter boy.

"I'm so happy! …And confused?" Luz said.

They broke the hug.

"I thought you were all hiding after what happened at Hexside," Luz said.

"We were but we got a message from Darius and he wanted us to accompany you guys," Gus said.

Hunter smiled.

"That's good to know," he said.

He and Gus then performed a complicated handshake which ended with them bumping foreheads. Luz gained a confused look. Willow and Viney chuckled.

"This is what happens when you guys go missing for a week," Willow said.

Luz nodded before turning to her friend/older brother figure.

"Hey Hunter, are you up for this? I'm pretty sure you're still trying to adjust after learning--"

"That Belos is evil?! Don't worry, I'm fine!" Hunter said, laughing sheepishly.

He grabbed Luz and quickly pulled her to the side.

"Don't you dare…mention that thing around them," Hunter whispered.

Luz's eyes widened.

"You mean ever since the incident at Hexside, you haven't told them you're a grimwalker?" she asked.

Hunter put a finger to his mouth to silence her.

"Shh! Listen, I don't know if I'm a witch, or a human. All I know is that I'm a "better" version of someone Belos…terminated," he said.

Luz gave him a look of remorse before looking towards the three others.

"I don't know much about what happened at Hexside but it seems like they like you," she said.

Hunter nodded.

"So that means I shouldn't worry about how they'd react, right? And if that's the case have you or Kai told them about helping Philip? Or that Kai is one of the only elementals in the Isles?" he asked.

Luz gained a slightly horrified look.

"Yeah, I overheard everything," Hunter said.

Luz sighed.

"We can discuss it with Kai later but for now I won't say anything," she said.

Hunter gave her a grateful look and they walked back towards the others.

"Hey, Luz, where's Kai?" Viney asked, noticing that her redheaded boyfriend wasn't present.

"Oh, he had to stay back to train with his Dad to learn about his mage mode," she said.

The others' eyes went wide.

"His dad's back?" Gus asked.

Luz nodded.

"Yeah, he arrived yesterday and helped us fight Malachi the Dark Mage," she said.

"Hold up and rewind. You guys FOUGHT the Dark Mage?!" Willow exclaimed.

Luz and Hunter nodded. Viney had a shocked look on her face.

"Okay…there better be a story to go with that," she said.

Luz chuckled.

"Don't worry. We'll explain everything back at base but right now, let's go save my girlfriend!" she said.

And with that the group rushed to Blight Manor. When they arrived, they saw that the front lawn was bare and empty. Luz moved to walk forward but Gus stopped her. He used his magic amplifier to scan for any unseen illusions. Through the illusion, the group saw a Coven Scout spinning an illusion circle. Willow stepped forward and cracked her knuckles, earning a nod from Gus and Luz. The Latina girl threw down a plant glyph at the Coven Scout, which hit and restrained him as the others ran past.

"Sorry, man!" Hunter called over his shoulder.

The group reached the front of the manor, but an Abomaton suddenly appeared behind them, shooting abomination goo at them. Luz attempted to run but got restrained by the Abomaton.

"Luz!" King shouted.

The Abomaton slowly advanced towards them and was about to sound its alarm when Hunter teleported and sliced its head off with his staff. Willow then restrained its arms and legs with vines, dragging the abomaton into the ground. Viney helped Luz to her feet and used a spell circle to heal a bruise on her elbow before the group finally reached Amity's window, where Luz saw her pacing. Luz smiled at this as she blushed. She used a plant glyph to create some flowering vines that helped her up to the balcony. Luz fixed her hair and prepared to enter. Inside, Amity is sitting at her desk trying to fix her little game device which was broken and cracked with a screwdriver.

"I can't believe Mom broke it!" she exclaimed.

Edric and Emira are sitting behind her on her bed as the male Blight is lying down.

"I'm gonna fix it and I'm gonna get a message out to Luz. I-I'm gonna do something!" Amity said desperately.

Edric huffed.

"Em and I already tried burning down the factory! That's what got us grounded too," he said, sitting up.

Amity walked over to her siblings and sat down between them.

"If Mom would just…hear us out!" she cried.

Emira sighed.

"We can shout as loud as we want, but money always shouts louder," she said.

Amity clenched her fists.

"Dad would listen. I know he would. The world is ending in a couple weeks, no one will listen to us and…" she said, tearing up.

She buried her face into her hands.

"I just want to know if Luz and Kai are safe!" Amity said, crying.

Edric rubbed her back as Emira gave a remorseful look.

"What do you think Luz and Kai would say to you right now?" she asked.

Amity sniffled.

"Kai would probably tell me to take a breath and focus on the goal. Luz… would probably say something dorky, but also sweet," she said.

She wiped her eyes and smiled.

"Like how I shouldn't give up and that anything is possible. Or she'd say that I might be scared now but to not let that stop me, because every problem has a solution," Amity said.

Emira looked ahead to see Luz standing by the window. The Latina girl gave her a smile and put a finger up to keep quiet. Emira nodded and she tapped Edric. Edric looked at Luz and the twins smiled before leaving the room.

"And everything's been so crazy, we've barely been able to spend time together. And I am not letting the world end before we go on a real date!" Amity said.

"Whoa, you're right!" a voice said.

Amity gasped and looked up to see Luz standing in front of her open, vine-covered window. Luz gave her a grin.

"I would say all that," she said.

Amity let out a tearful laugh as she ran towards Luz.

"Luz!" she said.

Luz ran towards her.

"Sweet potato!" she cried.

The two girls met in the middle and laughed as Luz picked Amity up, spinning her around and hugging each other tightly.

"I'm gonna take you out when this is all over, Amity, I promise," Luz said as they stood back from the hug, her hands resting on Amity's waist as Amity's hands rested on her shoulders.

"No monsters, no mysteries, no deadly duels, it's going to be the most mundane, slice-of-life date ever. And it'll be awesome," Luz promised.

Amity smiled at her.

"I know!" she said.

She gently grabbed Luz's face and pulled her in, pressing a kiss to her lips. Luz's eyes went wide before she kissed her girlfriend back. A few seconds later, the two separated with flushed and surprised faces.

"Oh, Crikey," Luz said, grinning.

"I can't believe I just did that," Amity said.

"I can't believe I just said that! Oh, crikey. How the hell did I even think of that?" Luz said, facepalming.

Amity giggled before her expression fell.

"Luz, I don't think my parents know what they're helping Belos accomplish. Will you help me tell them about the Draining Spell?" she asked.

Luz smiled.

"Of course! That's why we're here!" she said.

Amity looked confused.

"We?" she asked.

The two girls looked over the balcony to see King, Willow, Gus, Hunter and Viney. Luz turned to Amity and gave her a grin.

Back at the Base:

Kai and Kendrick were walking through the woods that surrounded the CATT's base.

"Dad, are we there yet?" Kai asked.

Kendrick chuckled.

"Just a few more steps, bud," he said.

Kai sighed but nodded. After a while of walking, Kai looked out of breath as Kendrick called out to him.

"We're here!" he called.

Kendrick pushed some leaves back and Kai gasped in shock and awe. In front of them was an open field with peaks, bright orange grass and a purple waterfall with three streams.

"Dad, this is beautiful," Kai said.

Kendrick nodded.

"Ain't it? My grandfather brought me here back when I was 10," he said.

He then clapped his hands.

"Alright! Let's get to work. Take your shirt and gauntlets off," Kendrick said, taking his shirt off.

Kai blinked.

"Wait, why?" he asked.

"You want to learn about your mage mode, right? This kind of training requires more mobility in the upper body without any restrictions," Kendrick said.

Kai nodded and moved to unzip his waistcoat and take his undershirt off, leaving his toned torso exposed to the afternoon air. Kendrick frowned slightly at the amount of scars that covered Kai's arms and torso. He knew the older ones were from his abusive foster homes and the new ones were from his time in the isles. Once Kai was done, the two males walked towards the water.

"Like I said before, our mage mode serves as a defense mechanism. It's designed to empower us with enough energy to fight and survive. In our mage mode, we are at our most powerful but we are also at our most vulnerable. If we are injured while in this state, it would lead to dire consequences," Kendrick said.

Kai looked at his father.

"Have you been injured while in mage mode?" he asked.

Kendrick nodded and pointed to a long, jagged scar above his left rib cage.

"I got this when I was 18 while fighting Belos' forces. One of the scouts stabbed me with their spears while in my mage mode. Luckily, it wasn't a serious injury. But that was too much of a close call that if it went any deeper, I probably wouldn't be standing here," Kendrick said.

Kai gained a slightly worried look as they stopped at the waterfall.

"Now, in order to master the mage mode, you have to unlock the energy points," Kendrick said.

"Can you tell me what you know about the energy points?" he asked.

Kai scratched his head.

"What's energy points?" he asked.

Kendrick sighed.

"Okay. I guess I'll start with the basics. The water flows through this stream, much like the energy that flows through our bodies. As you can see, there are multiple pools of water swirling around before flowing on. These pools are like our energy," Kendrick said.

Kai nodded.

"Ohhhh. So, our energy points are where all of the energy in our bodies swirl around," Kai said.

Kendrick nodded.

"Precisely. If nothing else was around, this stream would flow pure and clear. But, life can be messy and things tend to block the stream," Kendrick said, using a rock to block the water's flow.

He turned to his son.

"And what happens if the stream is blocked?" Kendrick asked.

Kai raised an eyebrow.

"The flow won't go?" he asked.

"Yes. But if we unblock the stream," Kendrick said, moving the rock.

The stream resumed its flow.

"The flow goes!" Kai exclaimed.

Kendrick smiled and ruffled Kai's hair.

Trial #1; The Earth energy point:

Kai and Kendrick sat across from each other on a giant hill.

"There are seven energy points that go up our bodies. Each point of energy has a purpose and can be blocked by a specific kind of emotional burst. More importantly, opening the energy points is an intense experience. Once you've started, you cannot stop until each and every one is open. Are you ready?" Kendrick asked.

Kai took a breath and gave a determined smile.

"Let's do it," he said.

Kendrick nodded.

"First, is the Earth energy point, located at the base of the spine. It deals with survival and is blocked by fear," Kendrick said.

Kai shifted into a lotus position.

"What are you most afraid of?" he asked.

Kai closed his eyes as memories of what he went through entered his mind. In his mind, Kai could see his 7 year old self curled up on the cold stone floor as his foster father stood above him with a whip in hand. The next thing to flash in his mind was him beating that kid before Camila pulled him off and he realized what he did. Kai opened his eyes to see Philip..no…Belos standing above him. Kai's breathing quickened as sweat ran down his brow and he clenched the fabric of his pants, his knuckles turning white.

"Kai, those visions aren't real. You're worried about your survival but you have to surrender to those fears. Let them flow down the stream," Kendrick said.

Kai took a few deep breaths before calming down and controlling his breathing. He opened his eyes to see Kendrick smiling at him.

"Good job. You opened the Earth energy point," he said.

Kai wiped his brow and gave his father a grin.

Trial #2; The Water Energy Point:

Kendrick and Kai were now sitting on two rocks that sat in the stream.

"Next is the…"

"Water Energy Point?" Kai asked.

Kendrick gave a smirk.

"Yup! Maybe you'll be able to teach yourself one of these days," he joked.

Kai laughed. Kendrick cleared his throat.

"This energy point deals with pleasure and is blocked by guilt. Now, look at all the guilt that you feel is burdening you. What do you blame yourself for?" Kendrick asked.

Kai closed his eyes and pressed his fists together. A brief image of him beating that kid entered his mind.

"I hurt that kid," he said.

His mind went back to the day he saw Eda get captured.

"I got Aunt Eda captured," Kai whispered.

Kendrick sighed.

"You need to accept that these things happen. Anger is something that can be hard to control and sometimes plans can go wrong, but you shouldn't let that cloud your thoughts and energy. If you want to be a positive influence, you have to forgive yourself first," he said.

Kai took a breath and let it out as he smiled.

Trial #3; The Fire Energy Point:

The two males now sat in a cave as the afternoon sun shined into it.

"The next energy point is the fire energy point. It's located in the stomach," Kendrick said.

A growl went through the area and Kai placed a hand on his stomach.

"Aw man! I should've brought something to eat," he mumbled.

Kendrick chuckled before getting serious.

"This energy point deals with willpower and is blocked by shame. What are you ashamed of?" he asked.

Kai closed his eyes and his mind went back to the day he took Owlbert and got him hurt.

"I took Owlbert without permission and ended up getting him hurt. I'm never taking anything without permission again," he said, looking at the ground.

Kendrick placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Like I said before, Kai, you have to accept that everyone makes mistakes. It's how life works. We make mistakes and we use it as a lesson to never make the same mistakes again," he said.

Kai nodded and let out a breath.

"Huh…that energy point opened up less like a waterfall and more like a sneezing griffin.

Kai's nose twitched before he let out a sneeze. He sniffled and rubbed his nose. Kendrick chuckled.

"Gesundheit," he said.

Trial #4; The Heart Energy point:

Kai grunted as he climbed up a peak to sit next to his father.

"Did we have to climb up here?" he asked.

Kendrick stretched his arms, rolling his shoulders.

"We've been sitting down for at least three minutes. We have to move around a bit before we get all cramped up," he answered.

The older man cracked his neck before sitting down.

"Okay, the fourth energy point is located in the heart. It deals with love and is blocked by grief," Kendrick said.

Kai nodded and closed his eyes, placing a hand to his chest.

"Lay all your grief out in front of you," Kendrick said.

Kai opened his eyes and saw his mother, Jennifer and his adoptive father, Manny, in front of him. Kai smiled. Soon enough, they both disappeared. Kai's brow furrowed as tears welled up in his eyes.

"You have dealt with so many losses. But love is a form of energy and it moves all around us. Jenny and Manny's love for you has never left. It's still inside of you and was reborn to a new form of love," Kendrick said.

A brief image of Viney smiling at him entered Kai's mind and he smiled as he wiped his eyes. Kendrick gently ruffled his hair.

"Good job, bud," he said.

Kai looked up at his father.

"Do you…ever miss Mom?" he asked.

Kendrick nodded and looked at the sky.

"Of course I do. The whole time I was in the isles all I ever thought about was getting home to you and Jennifer. I just wish I wasn't too late to see that she wasn't going to be with us," he said.

Kendrick smiled as he looked at his son.

"But she left me a new kind of form of love when she left," he said.

Kai tilted his head.

"What's that?" he asked.

Kendrick smacked him lightly on the head.

"You, ya goofball," he said.

Kai blinked before smiling.

"Yeah. I guess she did," he said, looking at the sky.

Trial #5; The Sound Energy Point:

Kai and Kendrick sat on the grassy field as Kai drank some water. Once he was done, he placed the water bottle down.

"Alright. Up next is the sound energy point, located at the throat. It deals with truth and is blocked by lies. The ones we usually tell ourselves," Kendrick said.

Kai closed his eyes.

"Why are you so against the fact that you have to kiss me?" Viney's voice echoed in his head.

"Because I didn't want you to be treated differently because of me," Kai said.

"You can't lie to yourself and think that people are better off without you. Viney chose to be with you and stand by your side because she wanted to. The same goes for the others, they all choose to be with you, not because they were forced to, but because they chose to. You have to accept that," Kendrick said.

Kai inhaled and let the breath out. He opened his eyes and smiled.

"Nice one, Kai. You unlocked the energy of truth," Kendrick said.

Trial #6; The Lightning Energy Point:

The father and son sat on the ledge of a cliff as the sun setted over the horizon.

"The sixth energy point is the lightning energy point, located in the center of the forehead," Kendrick said, flicking Kai in his forehead.

Kai grunted and pouted, rubbing his forehead. Kendrick chuckled before getting serious.

"Anyway. This deals with insight and is blocked by illusion," he said.

Kai looked at him.

"The greatest illusion of this world is the illusion of separation. Things that we might think are separated and different are actually the same," Kendrick said.

Kai closed his eyes.

"Kind of like the Coven Witches and the Wild Witches. We all have different ways of living and performing magic," he said.

Kendrick nodded.

"Right. The Isles is one full community but the people on the Isles live as if we are divided. Even the six elements are illusions," he said.

Kai opened his eyes.

"One way or another, we're all connected. Everything's connected," Kai said.

Kendrick nodded and ruffled his hair.

"You're starting to get it." he said.

Back with Luz and the others:

Outside of Blight Industries, Kikimora was arriving once again on an airship. The short demon yawned as she stepped off.

"Mrs. Blight. I hope this last shipment will be swift," she said.

She and the three Coven Scouts entered the factory with Odalia. Meanwhile, Luz, Amity, Willow, King, Viney, Gus and Hunter popped out of a bush. Gus then cast an illusion to give all of them, except for King, coven scout disguises and they walked out of the bush to follow the others. Luz turned to King.

"Stay here, King. It's safer. If anyone asks, you're guarding the perimeter," Luz said, putting a scout mask on King's head.

"But--" King said.

Luz ran off to follow the others. King sighed in disappointment and sat down on the ground. Suddenly, darkness surrounded him and he heard the Collector's voice. King looked around confused.

"Wha-?" King asked.

"He wouldn't lie. He wouldn't. He wouldn't!" the Collector said.

"Who is that? Hello?" King called.

"We spent hundreds of years playing his game. I want to play a new game!" They said angrily.

King clutched his head and stood up, making the voice and darkness disappear. He walked away, but ended up stepping on an empty bag of chips. King looked through the bushes next to it and he saw a trail of more chip bags and gasped. Inside Blight Industries' factory, a large object stands in the middle of the room, covered by a sheet with a spotlight shining on it as Kikimora and Odalia approach it.

"For the last time, I'm not interested in your dumb gadgets," Kikimora said.

"You might want to reconsider," Odalia said, ripping the sheets off.

Underneath was a much bigger Abomaton.

"Introducing the Abomatron. It's 700 snorsepower, has two fairy-powered jetpacks and comes in several shades of lilac," Odalia said.

Kikimora gasped as her eyes sparkled. Odalia lifted her up to the pilot seat.

'"I outfitted this one specially for you," she said.

Kikimora cackled.

"I'm taller than everyone!" she said.

Kikimora tested the controls, making the Abomatron punch and kick the air. Luz, Amity, Willow, Gus, Viney and Hunter watched this from nearby. Amity nudged Luz's arm and pointed to a door in the back of the room.

"That's my dad's workroom," she whispered.

The Hexside group ran off to the workroom. Luz peeked through the door's window and saw that the room was completely empty with a rat with an appearance similar to Alador eating a cracker.

"It looks empty. And really sad," Luz said.

Odalia suddenly walked up behind the group, hands on her hips.

"Ahem. These rooms are off limits," she said.

The teens gulped before Hunter nudged Luz.

"Follow my lead," he whispered.

He then saluted.

"Mrs. Blight! Kikimora told us of your products. Such inventions would be invaluable assets to the Emperor's Coven," he said.

The others nodded.

"I apologize for the trouble. We'll return to our duties," Hunter said.

They try to walk away but are stopped by the Abomatron.

"I thought I recognized that annoying voice," Kikimora said.

'Seriously. What is wrong with my voice!?' Hunter exclaimed in his head.

Luz grabbed Hunter's arm and the group tried to run to the main exit but were blocked by an abomaton and a coven scout. The coven scout cracked his knuckles as he glared at the teens.

"Sorry, man," he said.

Gus stepped back and tripped over a pipe, accidentally dispelling the group's disguises. Now revealed, they turned around to see Odalia and Kikimora staring at them with stern looks. Back with King, the small demon was sitting on a swing set on a hill with Alador. The brown haired man held out an open bag of chips for King.

"And was that the last of it? Of course not. While I was recovering from the fire flu, she fired half my team and expected us to continue working at the same time. Did I mention I haven't had a weekend off in five years?" Alador said before sneezing, making a burst of fire come out.

Alador sniffled and rubbed his nose.

"Oh, sorry. Fire flu side effects. I--I don't mean to vent. I-I should let you return to your duties," he said.

King blinked as he munched on a chip.

"The Emperor's Coven, uh, requires I take a meal break, so, uh--no worries?" he said.

Alador chuckled.

"Sounds like I joined the wrong coven. This is a big thing. I should feel…accomplished, but none of this feels right. Do you have kids, Mr. Scout?" he asked.

"Oh, uh, no. I'm probably not the right person to give dad advice. You know, never really met mine," King said.

Alador looked surprised by this before looking down sadly.

"I'm gonna spend more time with my kids, get to know them. Things are gonna change after the Day of Unity," he said.

King rubbed his neck.

"Oh, boy. Yeah, let's just say there's not gonna be an "after" to the Day of Unity," he said.

Alador's eyes went wide in shock.

Outside Blight Industries, the Hexside group had been trapped inside a glowing pink dome with their hands restrained by abomination goo and three Abomatons guarding the outside of the dome. Everyone in the group looked angry as Odalia was pacing nearby as Kikimora walked outside.

"Odalia, is my airship ready?" she asked.

Odalia turned to her with a smug look.

"Just about. And I found two adorable little scoundrels trying to steal it, but they'll be dealt with," she said as two abomatrons came out holding Edric and Emira.

Amity gasped.

"Edric! Emira!" she said.

She then glared at her mother.

"Let them go!" she growled.

Odalia scoffed.

"Don't worry. They'll just be grounded with maximum security," she said.

Amity gritted her teeth.

"Don't you get it? You're helping a witch hunter destroy everything," she said.

Odalia rolled her eyes.

"Really, Mittens, I am tired of all this drama. Sneaking around in little disguises, convincing the twins to act out, are you trying to make me look bad?" she asked.

Luz glared at her.

"She's trying to help people." she said.

Odalia glared at her.

"Hush, brat," she said.

Hunter gritted his teeth as Amity growled.

"Don't you talk to my girlfriend like that!" Amity shouted.

Odalia raised an eyebrow.

"Girlfriend? Oh, no, no. That won't do. We'll find you a new girlfriend. Someone who's not on wanted posters everywhere," she said, summoning a wanted poster of Liz and then ripping it in half.

Amity growled in rage and the abomination goo around her hands began to bubble. She let out a yell and freed her hands. Amity formed the goo into a spoke gauntlet and punched the dome with all her might. The dome is completely unaffected. Odalia scoffed.

"Ugh. Really, you're embarrassing yourself," she said.

Amity kept punching the dome. Behind her, Hunter turned around to see Kikimora in the Abomatron just outside the dome.

"I always knew you were rotten to the core. Belos will probably snap you in two after I hand you over. Maybe he'll make me the new Golden Guard," Kikimora said.

Hunter gulped in fear while Luz and Gus ran to defend him.

"Back off!" Gus yelled.

"Leave him alone!" Luz said.

Kikimora gained a smirk.

"I'm surprised you're here without that worthless hybrid brother of yours. Then again, what can he do? He's not even here to help you," she taunted.

Hearing Kikimora make fun of Kai made Viney's blood boil.

"What'd you say you little piece of shit?!" she yelled, making Luz and Hunter try to hold her back.

Next to them, Amity was still punching the dome. All of a sudden, it burst and disappeared, surprising everyone.

"What?" Odalia asked in disbelief.

The others looked at their hands to see the goo and the dome around them disappeared. Amity looked at her fist in surprise.

"How did I do that? Was it the power of believing in myself?" Amity asked.

"No, it was the power of science!" a voice said.

Everyone turned to see King and Alador appear from the door with Alador holding a deceive that controlled the bubble.

"But you almost had it, sweetie," Alador said, smiling.

He turned to Odalia.

"Odalia, the Emperor is planning to wipe out everyone with a Draining Spell, and our Abomatons are helping him do it," Alador said.

Odalia looked completely unfazed by this and the group came with a realization.

"Son of a bitch," Viney said.

Alador glared at his wife.

"You already knew?" he asked angrily.

"What he does with our products is none of our business. What is my business is keeping our family ahead of the rest. You're welcome, everyone," Odalia said.

Alador growled in anger as his face turned bright red.

'Now I know where Amity got it from,' Luz said in her head.

Odalia rolled her eyes.

"Ugh, there you go making that face. This is why I don't tell you things. With the Emperor's favor, we'll live like royalty in the new world. Crowns and everything," she said.

Alador shook his head.

"This is too much, even for you," he said.

Alador flipped a switch and controlled the Abomatons to surround Odalia. Clutching her necklace, Odalia summoned a large spirit. It grappled with an abomination summoned by Alador, then it let more spirits out of its mouth which snatched the control device away from Alador, bringing it to Odalia before it retreated back into her necklace. Odalia then pressed a button on the device. Before Alador has a chance to react, an Abomaton sends him flying into a wall, making Alador cry out as he falls to the ground. The group gasped.

"Dad!" Amity, Edric and Emira shouted.

Alador moved to get up but a stinging pain went through his arm, making the older man wince as he held his shoulder. Amity and her friends ran towards him. Amity bent down beside her father as multiple Abomatons surrounded them with Odalia standing behind them.

"Aw…shit," Luz cursed.

Back with Kai and Kendrick:

The father and son sat under a tree as it was getting dark.

"This is the last energy point, right?" Kai asked.

Kendrick nodded.

"Yes. Once you unlock this energy point, you will be able to control your mage mode and have better results with your elements," his father said.

Kai gained a grin.

"Alright, let's do it," he said.

"The Thought energy point is located at the crown of the head. It deals with pure energy and is blocked by attachments. Meditate on what attaches you to this world," Kendrick said.

Kai nodded and closed his eyes. Memories of his time with Luz and Camila entered his mind which was soon followed by his moments with Amity, Willow, Gus and everyone at Hexside, Eda, Lilith, King, Hooty and his grandparents and then finally Viney.

"Now, let those attachments go," Kendrick said.

Kai's eyes flew open in shock.

"What?! Why would I let go of them? Luz, Mom, King, Hunter, Aunt Eda, Lilith, Hooty, grandma and grandpa are my family. Amity, Willow, Gus and everyone else at Hexside are my friends. And Viney? Viney's my girlfriend! I can't let go of her. I-I love her," Kai said.

Kendrick sighed. He had a feeling this was going to be something Kai would struggle with.

"Kai, you need to learn to let them go or you can't enter your mage mode," Kendrick said.

Kai threw his hands up.

"Why would I choose that over my friends and family!? How is it a bad thing if I have attachments to them? Three hours ago that was a good thing!" Kai exclaimed, slightly angered.

Kendrick sighed.

"Kai, to enter your mage mode, you have to unlock all of the energy points and that means you have to let them go. I know it's going to be hard. It was hard for me when I was learning my mage mode and it was even harder when I had to let go of you and Jennifer. So, please, just try," Kendrick said, softly.

Kai clenched his fists before sighing.

"Alright. I'll try but I can't promise anything," he said.

Kai closed his eyes and clasped his hands together. In his mind, the memories of his time with the others were pushed to the back of his mind. Kendrick watched as the ends of Kai's hair floated upwards. Kai's hair turned yellow as yellow energy surrounded his body. Kai's eyes remained closed.

Kai's Mind:

Kai is sitting with his eyes closed when he hears a voice cry out.

"Hey! Let us out!"

Kai opened his eyes and he turned to see a vision of his friends locked in a cell somewhere.

Back in the real world:

Kai gasped as he opened his eyes, breathing heavily. Kendrick rushed towards him.

"Kai? What's wrong? What did you see?" he asked.

The glow around Kai disappeared as he looked at his father.

"Luz and the others. They're in trouble," he said.

Kai scrambled to get up, grabbing his waistcoat and undershirt. He slipped the clothes on and rushed to grab Blaze, getting ready to take off.

"Kai," Kendrick called.

Kai looked at him. Kendrick grabbed Kai's scabbard and threw it at him. Kai caught it and looked at him surprised.

"But, I thought-" he said before getting cut off.

Kendrick gave him a smile.

"I'll let it slide this time, the others need help. 'Sides, this is your training and I know you'll find a way to unlock your mage mode in your own way," he said.

Kai gave him a smile before strapping his scabbard to his waist and mounting Blaze, zooming through the sky.

At Blight Industries:

Kai landed on the side of the Blight Industries' factory. He peeked around the corner to see multiple Abomatons surrounding the front.

"Damn. Odalia has this place on complete lockdown," he said to himself.

He felt something behind him and Kai looked over his shoulder to see an Abomaton standing above him. The Abomaton was about to set off its alarm but Kai quickly shot an ice spike at it, stabbing it through its chest. The Abomaton's eyes dimmed and it fell to the ground. Kai looked around the corner again. Looks like he'll have to be stealthy about this. Reaching into his pocket, Kai took out an invisibility glyph, took a deep breath and smacked it onto his chest, activating the spell and disappearing. Kai quietly made his way towards the front entrance and opened the door. He stopped when he saw Kikimora and a few coven scouts standing there. Kai quickly ducked behind some crates and carefully maneuvered along the wall.

"Ma'am, the castle has been informed that we have the human and the golden guard in our custody," a coven scout said.

Kikimora turned to him.

"Good. That Golden Guard and human will no longer be a nuisance to the Emperor's Coven," she said.

"What about the hybrid, ma'am? We all know he's going to come and save the human," the coven scout said.

Kai paused in his steps as he listened in.

"I'm sure the Emperor has his own plans to deal with the hybrid," Kikimora said.

Kai peeked over the crates, looked across the room and saw a staircase that led below the factory.

'That must be where the others are!' Kai said in his head.

He moved to make his way over there, his elbow knocking a few things over. Kai silently panicked in his head as the objects fell over with a loud crash, gaining the attention of everyone in the room.

"What was that?" Kikimora asked.

Two coven scouts made their way over to where they heard the crash, spears drawn. Looking behind the crates, the two scouts saw nothing.

"Nothing's over here, ma'am," one of them said.

On the other side of the room, Kai let out a breath, dispelling the invisibility glyph as he hid behind the basement doors. The hybrid boy let out a sigh of relief as he leaned against the door. Blaze, who was perched on Kai's shoulder, let out a few chirps. Kai looked ahead to see how big and how long the corridors were.

"Ah man," Kai sighed.

He looked towards Blaze.

"Looks like we gotta split up, Bud. If you find the cell the others are in, chirp, got it?" Kai asked.

Blaze let out an understanding chirp, nodding before he flew off to the left while Kai went right.

With the others:

The group sat in the cell as Emira was tending to Alador's arm.

"Why does Odalia even have a dungeon under the factory?" Viney asked.

"It's not a dungeon. It's supposed to store some leftover pieces from inventions," Alador said.

He let out a wince as Emira touched a tender part of his arm. Emira gave him an apologetic look

"Sorry," she mumbled.

Hunter was pacing back and forth.

"So, what's the plan? We're stuck in here and because Odalia put up some magic blockers, we can't cast any spells to get out of here," he said.

"Maybe Kai will come for us? We've been gone for an hour now," Gus said.

"I honestly doubt that," Edric said.

Everyone looked at him. Edric put his hands up in defense.

"I mean I don't doubt Kai's ability but this place is covered head to toe with Abomatons. Not to mention that Abomatron. Those things are too much for him to beat. We all tried and we ended up here," Edric said.

Luz shook her head.

"Kai's the toughest guy I know. If anyone can get us out of here, it's him," she said.

The others nodded. Hunter sighed as he leaned his head against the cell door, looking out through the bars. As he stared at the empty cell across from him, Hunter saw a small blur of red, orange and yellow out if the

"Is that?" he mumbled to himself.

The blur got closer and Hunter could see it was Blaze! He smiled.

"Blaze!" Hunter exclaimed.

The others looked at him.

"What?" Willow asked.

Hunter turned to them smiling.

"It's Blaze! Blaze's here!" he said.

The others gasped.

"Then that means Kai's here too!" Viney exclaimed.

The others smiled in relief. Hunter turned back to see that Blaze had flown in front of him.

"Blaze, go get Kai and tell him where we are," Hunter said.

Blaze nodded and flew off. Back with Kai, the hybrid boy was looking through some empty cells when Blaze came towards him chirping. Kai smiled.

"You found them?" he asked.

Blaze chirped as he flapped his wings before flying off. Kai ran after him. After running and turning a few corners, Kai arrived at a door.

"Guys?" he asked, looking into the cell.

The others smiled.

"Kai!" they said.

Kai smiled.

"All right, stand back," he said.

The others moved to the back of the room. Kai took a breath before using a strong gust of wind to blow the door off. Viney was the first one to run out of the cell, throwing her arms around Kai. The hybrid boy laughed as he hugged Viney back tightly, twirling his girlfriend around before setting her on the ground. Viney leaned back from the hug, resting her hands on Kai's shoulders and noticing that her boyfriend's hair was different.

"What's with the new haircut?" Viney asked.

Kai rubbed his neck.

"Heh. Aunt Eda said my hair was getting long so she gave me a haircut," he said.

Viney smiled.

"Well, I like it," she said, running her fingers through Kai's hair.

The hybrid boy smiled.

"Thanks," he said.

"Um, I hate to interrupt the love birds reunion but can we get out of here?" Hunter asked.

Kai nodded and the group quietly made their way up to the top floor. Though when they got up there, they noticed that the lights were out.

"Kai, were the lights off when you came down to get us?" Luz asked.

Kai shook his head. Luz pulled out a light glyph and a small glow illuminated the area, showing multiple Abomatons, Coven Scouts and Kikimora. Kai's face turned pale.

'Shit! It's a trap!' Kai said in his head.

The sound of someone clapping their hands. The group got into fighting stances as Odalia walked out from behind the Abomatons.

"Now that we have the whole group with us. Let's get back to business, shall we?" Odalia said, smirking.

Kai stood in front of the others, staff drawn as Amity glared at her mother.

"You! I am never speaking to you ever again!" she growled.

"You'll thank me later when you're a literal princess, princess. It's what's best for our family, " Odalia said.

Kai gritted his teeth.

"For the love of-! How dumb do you have to be?! Belos is trying to wipe out everyone in the Isles! Do you need to have it drilled into your head for you to understand?!" Kai exclaimed.

Odalia looked towards him.

"I would watch how I'm talking, hybrid. Don't think I don't know that Belos is after you," she said.

Odalia gained an evil smirk.

"I wonder how much it's worth to give you up," she said.

Kai's grip tightened on his staff as Viney placed a hand on his lower back. Alador placed a hand on his shoulder and stepped forward.

"What's best for this family is putting an end to this!" he said as his eyes glowed purple.

He made two giant abomination fists and used them to punch a few Abomatons and knocked them over. Odalia growled.

"Abomatons attack!" Odalia ordered.

From there, a fight broke out. A coven scout charged at Kai, his spear drawn. Kai leaned to the side to avoid getting stabbed. Kai caught the spear between his arm and used his foot to break the point off. The coven scout stepped back and looked at his spear, surprised. Using the distraction as an advantage, Kai ran forward and sent a flying roundhouse kick to the scout's head, sending him flying into some nearby crates. More coven scouts charged at him. Kai made an air scooter and rushed towards them. He used his staff to knock all of the scouts out. Odalia growled and looked around. Amity and Luz were working together to take down some of the coven scouts, Hunter, Willow and Gus were fighting some abomatons, Alador and the twins were also fighting some abomatons. Viney was the only one as she fought a few coven scouts. Odalia pressed a button and the abomatons moved towards Viney. Luz noticed and gasped.

"Viney, watch out!" she shouted.

Viney grunted as she dodged each of the Abomatons' attempts of shooting abomination goop at her. One of the abomatons shot Viney in her arm with a laser, making the brunette cry out in pain as she fell to the ground. She held her arm and looked to see it was bleeding. The others ran to help her. Odalia had a smug look on her face. The ground shook, surprising everyone else.

"ODALIA!" a voice shouted.

The Blight matriarch turned to see Kai rushing towards her on a hill of rocks. He had a very pissed off look on his face as he rushed at her. Odalia panicked slightly before pressing a button. An abomaton knocked Kai off the rock hill, sending him crashing and rolling on the ground. The abomatons and coven scouts surrounded Kai. The hybrid boy got to his feet and put his fists up, breathing heavily as sweat rolled down his forehead. He looked at the others. Luz, Hunter, Willow, Gus, Edric, Alador and Amity were fighting as Emira was helping Viney with her arm. Kai's eyebrows lowered in concern.

'There's too many of them,' Kai said in his head.

"You need to learn to let them go," Kendrick's voice echoed in his head.

Kai closed his eyes.

"I'm sorry, guys," he whispered.

Kai sat down and crossed his legs in a lotus position. Hunter looked at him.

"Kai, what are you doing?! Move!" he shouted.

The coven scouts aimed their spears at him as they stepped towards Kai.

"¡Hermano, muévete!" Luz shouted in Spanish.

A bright yellow aura surrounded Kai's body as his hair turned a neon yellow color. Kai opened his eyes, showing that they were glowing yellow. Kai grabbed his sword and flashed forward in a blaze of yellow. He reappeared behind a few abomatons and swung his sword, slicing them in half. Odalia watched in horror.

"NO!" she shouted.

The others cheered.

"Go, Kai!" Luz cheered as Viney smiled.

A few coven scouts tried to sneak up behind him but Kai was quick to send a gust of wind at them, sending them flying. Lasers were shot at him and Kai blasted flames from his boots, flying into the air. Kai took a deep breath as his cheeks glowed red.

"Fire Dragon's ROAR!" Kai shouted.

He let out a strong stream of fire, melting the abomatons. Kai panted as he smiled before a stinging pain went through his body, making him let out a silent scream as his eyes went wide. Kikimora smirked as she had shot a bolt of lightining at Kai, striking him in his back. The glow around Kai disappeared as his eyes and hair turned back to normal and he fell. Everyone gasped in horror as Viney's eyes filled with tears.

"KAI!" she screamed.

The hybrid boy was falling fast to the ground. Hunter grabbed Flapjack and rushed to Kai. The blonde boy grunted as he caught Kai in his arms and flew back to the others. He landed on the ground and looked down at Kai. His clothes were burnt and torn, he had a few scrapes and bruises and he wasn't moving or responding. Hunter placed two fingers to his neck, checking for a pulse. He sighed in relief when he felt a weak pulse as the others ran towards him.

"Hunter, is he?" Luz asked, fearing the answer.

He shook his head.

"He's fine but we have to get him out of here if we want to keep it that way," Hunter said.

He gently picked Kai up but before they could escape, the group was surrounded by Kikimora, the coven scouts and hundreds of Abomatons. Alador, Emira, Edric, Amity, Gus and Willow stood in front of Luz, Hunter and Viney as they protected Kai. Kikimora aimed her laser at the group.

"There's nowhere else to run. Hand over the hybrid and maybe I'll let you leave alive," she said.

The group glared at her as Viney held Kai tightly.

"You can go to hell," said Luz, gritting her teeth.

She pulled out a fire glyph and an ice glyph. Luz slapped them together, activating them and creating a mist that surrounded the area. When the mist disappeared, Kikimora and Odalia saw that they were gone. Kikimora growled while Odalia had a very pissed look on her face. They were going to pay for this.

Back at the CATT's base:

After escaping Odalia and stealing an airship, the group quickly rushed back to the base, in fear of what's gonna happen to Kai if they didn't hurry.

"Edaaaaa!" Luz screamed as she and the others entered the base.

Eda and Kendrick ran in with Raine, Darius and Lilith behind them.

"What's wrong?" Eda asked.

Hunter stepped forward with Kai in his arms. The adults gasped as Lilith put her hands to her mouth.

"What happened?" Kendrick asked, running to take Kai from Hunter.

"Kikimora. She shot him with a lighting bolt," Luz answered.

"She did WHAT?!" Eda yelled, anger in her eyes.

Kendrick looked down at his son as Kai laid limp in his arms.

"We can worry about this later! Kailin needs to be taken to a healer!" Lilith exclaimed.

"No. A healer wouldn't be able to heal this kind of wound. It's too close to a nerve and it would cause even more damage," Kendrick said.

"Then what do we do?" Viney asked.

She was worried to death about her boyfriend. Kendrick gently laid Kai on the ground. Viney kneeled beside Kai's head, pulling him into her lap. Kendrick reached into his satchel and pulled out a vial of water.

"What's that?" King asked.

"It's something my grandad gave me from his travels when I was 13. He said to only use it for emergencies," Kendrick answered.

He pulled the cork off and used his water element to take it out.

"Hold him up," Kendrick said.

Viney gently turned Kai over so his back was shown. Kendrick felt both anger and sadness when he saw the condition of Kai's back. Kendrick shook his head and held his hand out. The water circulated in his hand as it glowed. Kendrick placed his hand on Kai's back and exhaled. The others watched with bated breaths and worried looks as a cool blue glow went out through the room and the water soaked into the hybrid boy's back. When the glow faded, it looked like the water didn't work because Kai still wasn't moving. Tears welled up in Viney's eyes and she hugged Kai tightly, crying as she pressed her forehead against his. Kai's hair glowed a faint yellow and he groaned softly. Viney gasped and looked down at him. Kai looked up at Viney and gave her a weak smile. Viney smiled back as she hugged him tightly but not too tight to irritate his wounds.

"Thank, titan," she whispered, burying her face into Kai's neck.

Everyone else had relieved smiles and tears on their faces. Kai was alive, injured but alive. As for the rest of them, they won the battle but they lost the war. This was only the beginning of the end…

( A/N: And that's the end of another epic chapter! Some of you have asked if there will be a chapter of how Kendrick and Jennifer met and I can assure that there will be one.
