Chapter 9

"305…305…" Nikki whispered to herself as she sped walked through the third floor hotel cooridor, as soon as she got off the phone with Kayla she rushed to the nearest drugstore and found what she was looking for. They had to know, the results could change Kayla's life forever…and Randy's. 'Lord knows he wouldn't even want any part in this', Nikki thought to herself. She found herself face to face with a gold plaque on a hotel room door that read 305. "Finally" she exclaimed under her breath and knocked quickly waiting for Kayla to respond.

Nikki heard some shuffling around, and then a very worried, very pale looking Kayla anwsered the door. "Nikki!" she sighed with relief "Finally you made it!" she exclaimed grabbing Nikki by the arm and pushing her into the hotel room.

Kayla ran a shaky hand through her long brown locks before she spoke "Nikki…" she began "Im so scared, just when I thought I was getting my life back together after Randy, this happens!" she exclaimed as she threw her body back on the soft hotel bed.

Nikki walked over to her worried friend on the bed and laid side by side with her, she cocked her head to the left to face Kayla "You don't know anything yet, your just freaking yourself out."

Kayla snickered and shook her head "Come on Nikki, your even the one who said it!" she sat up on the bed indian style "Only an idiot would be so naive to think anything less at this point."

Nikki sat up to be at her level on the bed and looked strait into her eyes "Okay so if its positive, you won't be alone!" she reached out and grabbed her friends hand "You have us, we are all here for you and everything you decide to do."

Kayla bit her lower lip as she tried to keep the tears from falling from her eyes. She sighed and looked at the plastic drug store bag in Nikki`s left hand. She didn't even speak, all she did was put her hand out for Nikki to place the item in her hand for her.

No words needed to be exchanged, Nikki knew this was the time. She was going to do it now, she retrieved the pregnancy test from the plastic bag and gently placed it in Kayla`s hand. "Ill be right out here if you need me."

Kayla sighed and lifted herself off the bed with a small nodd to her friend as if to say thank you. Kayla pushed herself to walk into the hotel bathroom, as she entered she closed the door and just stared at the box, she stared at it as if she was cursing it to tell her the answer she wanted to see. She looked at her reflection in the mirror, long brown hair in a messy bun, no make up on, her naturally ivory skin was very pale and her eyes had worry written all over them. 'This is going to change everything, if this is positive, my life takes two steps back, I have to tell Dwayne, everything and he will most likely want me to do the right thing and tell the father and from there I will have to tell Randy and Randy wants no responsibility or commitment, he made that very clear!' she began to open the box as more thoughts consumed her mind on what would happen if this test came out positive. 'I wonder if Dwayne will still want to be with me? Will he still want to start something with me? will he make me try to work things out with the father? Will randy even giving a crap…Will he even believe me?' she licked her dry lips and took the test out of the box, removing the wrapped from around it. "Here goes nothing." she whispered.

Meanwhile, outside the bathroom door Nikki was a nervous wreck, tapping her foot on the floor, pacing back and forth, waiting for her best friend to emerge from the bathroom with news. Just as Nikki was about to walk to the bathroom door to speak to Kayla, Kayla emerged with the stick in her hand pointing it away from her. "I can't do it…" her lower lip trembled in nervousness.

Nikki walked over to her and gave a small smile "Ill look." she said and very slowly took the test from Kayla`s hand with a deep breath.

Nikki looked down at the test in her hands and let out a small gasp. She cleared her throat before her eyes made their way unto Kayla`s.

Kayla saw the look in her eyes and shifted in her place, nerves taking over her body "What?" she questioned "What does it say?"

While Nikki and Kayla were preoccupied with the results of the test that would change Kayla`s life. John was just making his way out of the gym and walking to his car when he heard his name being called, he turned around to see Randy following him shortly behind.

"Hey man, whats up?" He nodded to his friend with a smile as he caught up with him.

Randy adjusted his gym bag on his shoulder and replied "Uh…"he paused and took a long sigh "Have you talked to Kayla? I mean since last night?"

John smirked at his friend, it was killing Randy inside what happened last night "You mean since Kayla saw you kissing Kelly kelly?"

Randy wanted to keep his feelings in check, he showed nobody his feelings for Kayla, not that he even knew he had them anyway. he was completely oblivious to the fact. He rolled his eyes as he shook off the feeling "Man I could care less what she saw, she was the one who ended things."

John shook his head in disappointment, 'when was Randy ever going to see that he actually really loved Kayla?' "Right…" he stated sarcastically "Thats why you left Kelly standing there and ran after Kayla."

Randy shrugged his shoulders "I felt bad, I mean I know how she feels about me."

John reached his rental car and threw his gym bag into the trunk "But yet you can't see your feelings for her?"

Randy scoffed "Man what feelings?" his lips then curled into a smirk "I mean unless you mean the fact that I feel disappointed she ended things, the sex was great."

John looked back at his friend and raised a brow "How can you be so careless and egotistical?"

Randy`s leaned against Johns rental car and let out an unamused laugh "Im not, listen, I don't know how many times I have to say this but Kayla knew what she was getting into when we started this, its not like I didn't warn her." he defended himself "Im just not the type of man to give her what she wants."

"Oh you mean the thing all women want, marriage and kids?" John rolled his eyes at Randy's insensitivity.

Randy raised a brow accusingly at his friend "Oh your one to talk." Johns head automatically snapped in his direction and Randy smirked knowing he got his attention "Yeah…What does Nikki have to say about Marriage and kids John?"

John clenched his jaw in annoyance, his best friend could be the biggest asshole in the world at times "Thats very different, I have my reasons."

Randy nodded "Okay then, I have mine too!"

John turned his back to randy, opening the door to his rental car "No you don't have reasons, you have excuses" he looked back to Randy "Excuses to back up your damn fear of commitment and need to be with a different girl when you want."

Randy shook his head "John your supposed to be my friend here, I mean give me a break."

John snickered "I am Randy and thats why Im trying to open your eyes, you don't see your feelings for Kayla soon and you've lost her forever, she's not going to wait until your ready man, she waited two years with you, god forbid she finds love with someone else."

Randy rolled his eyes, matching Johns same snicker "Please who can she find better than me." he smirked cockily.

John just chuckled lightly, almost feeling sorry for his friend "Oh I don't know…" he paused "Dwayne."

As soon as John said that Randys head shot up, his blue eyes turned icy gray and his facial expression harderned. "What?" he spat

John shook his head and entered his car, rolling down the window "Nothing man, ill see you in few hours at the airport." and with that he drove off leaving Randy confused and pissed off in the parking lot of the gym.

Ok my excited readers, Chapter 9 is finally up and this has been along time coming, months! Im sorry about the very late updated however my life has been very busy lately with my little baby. But tonight i finally got some time that I decided to take upon myself to start another chapter for you guys, so its here, please read and tell me everything you love about it, this story still has many chapters to come so don't get too wrapped up in the hype of chapter 9!
