Chapter 16

"Ok, So The cake is done, The drinks are under control, I'm of course having the food catered because we will be with no time or in any position to be cooking all day, not that I can cook." Nikki laughed to herself as she went through the list plugged in on her cell phone, telling her sister Brie point by point.

Brie just shook her head and laughed at her sister "Oh yes we all know!" She sat on the couch with a glass of wine in her head "I have the banner and decorations covered so no need to worry about that."

Nikki just decided to let her sisters comment about her not being able to cook slid under the table, right now they were on a time frame and had to get everything ready for Kayla`s Gender Reveal party on Saturday. It was Tuesday afternoon and Nikki decided to go over to her sisters apartment in Arizona for a couple of days to plan this party, because as of the moment Nikki had nothing going on with work and neither did Brie, however they did have to use their mornings to train before using the afternoons and evenings as their free time.

"Ok so this Saturday, the 7th of July at 4 o'clock we will make it and we absolutely need to make sure Randy doesn't not find out , Lord knows I told John not to say anything but it may slip out and Randy may want to come see her." Nikki explained

Brie just shook her head and gulped a sip of wine "Why would Randy want to come see her, he doesn't know right?"

Nikki sighed and locked her phone screen as she sat down near her sister picking up her own glass "No of course not, Kayla would never let that happen." She gave a soft laugh and continued "But John has been telling me that Randy has been acting weird, very concerned about Kayla, like he's always asking about her, seems like he can't stop thinking about her or something."

Brie scoffed and took another sip of her wine, before responding "Serves him right if you ask me."

"No, yeah I agree…" Nikki paused taking of sip of her own.

"But..?" Brie question knowing there was something else Nikki wanted to let out.

Nikki looked up at her sister and sighed taking another sip of her wine "But what if Randy realized he does have feelings for her or something, is it still right that Kayla keeps this baby from him?"

Brie bit her lower lip "Not to be mean but she never should have been hiding it in the first place, I mean I love Kayla and I understand why she wouldn't want to tell him but." she paused and shrugged her shoulders "It just seems so wrong not telling him he's going to be a father."

Saturday- July 7th:

Kayla gave herself a once over, looking at her figure in the mirror, she was wearing a simple, white short sleeve sheathe dress, with a low cut v-neck, and nude stripy back heels. Her make up was a very light natural color and her hair was loosely curled and pinned softly in the back to show her face a bit. She smiled at her reflect and shifted her eyes to her 6 month big belly bump, she smiled brightly and couldn't believe how big she was, how much she had grown. She bit her lower lip and rubbed her stomach gently, she had felt the baby kicking already a couple times this month and the heart beat was stronger than ever! As she looked down at her baby belly she thought of the long day she had ahead of her, today was the day she would find out the sex of her baby, Nikki and brie insisted on throwing her a gender reveal party and of course Nikki wanted it to be at her and Johns house that they shared. Bigger space for a bigger party, that was Nikki, go big or go home!

She would find out today as she cut open that cake if it was a little boy or a little girl, She was ecstatic for John to come pick her up and finally take her to the party. Dwayne was originally supposed to come pick her up but he couldn't get out of his training and the fast and furious 6 taping. She wanted him to be there but she totally understood and it gave her time to spend a few hours with John in the car, talking and catching up, after all it was a 3 hour drive from Jacksonville to Tampa and truthfully Kayla was shocked John actually agreed to drive her there, not that its something he wouldn't do, just that the drive is so long and taxing.

She smoothed her hand through her hair and just as she was about to grab her purse she heard a knock at her door. She smiled and knew right away it was John, she was expecting him a few minutes ago. "John you can come in!" she yelled from the bedroom "Ill be right out!"

Just as she grabbed her purse and keys, she made her way over to the living room where John was waiting for her. He smiled and brought her in a big bear hug, carefully not to squeeze her too tight due to her big belly. He laughed softly and rubbed her stomach "Hows the little one?"

Kayla smiled brightly "Good, kicking mommy like crazy" She stated as she let go from John and walked into the kitchen to grab a bottled water from the fridge "You want anything?"

"Water is fine Kay." He stated as she slid a water bottle towards him across the counter top "And how is the mommy doing?" he questioned with a smile opening the water and taking a sip.

Kayla repeated his actions also taking a sip of her water "Mommy is good, tired and my back is starting to hurt more now but I'm excited for today!" she exclaimed with a smile "Speaking of which, i hope the drive here wasn't too horrible?"

"No please, it was fine, I didn't want you flying being 6 months pregnant anyway." he stated

She smiled softly and rubbed her belly, so many thoughts were running through her mind, thoughts that always consumed her mind but she always tried so hard not to think about, in her gut she knew it was the right choice not to tell Randy but in her heart…She wasn't so sure. John saw this display and noticed how quiet she got, he spoke up concerned "Whats on your mind girl?"

She looked up and John and tried to play it off, shook her head and cleared her throat "Oh me? Oh god, nothing I'm good." she lied strait through her teeth.

John raised a brow "Kayla…" he began "You expect me to believe that?"

"No." she sighed "I was hoping you would." she laughed softly.

John matched her soft laugh and shook his head "Kay seriously, you should be more than excited to find out the sex of the baby today, whats got you so down?"

Kayla sighed and lifted the strap of her small purse higher on her shoulder "I'm not down…Just thinking about a lot."

"Ok a lot of what?" he questioned

She sighed and looked up to him, strait in the eyes "Randy." She whispered

John nodded his head and cleared his throat unsure of what to say or how to say it "Randy as a father or Randy the love of your life?"

Kayla rubbed her stomach " A little bit of both."

"Is he always on your mind?" John asked

She bit her lip "Most of the time." she sighed and took a long sip of water "I just can't get over him John, no matter how hard I try, I can't stop loving him." she felt it, she felt the tears coming on and she didn't know how to stop them, especially being pregnant her emotions were at a 100 on a scale of 1 to 10.

John sighed upset, he hated seeing his friend this way he knew how much Randy meant to her, he just didn't get why she would refuse to tell him sometimes and then Randy, God he was another story, he admits he thinks about her all the time but yet can't admit that he loves her, which we all can see. "Kay, it makes it that much harder to get over him, especially since you guys share this baby now."

Kayla bit her lip to stop it from quivering "I know but even if I wanted to share a life with him and our baby, I couldn't, he doesn't want it John."

John lifted from his seat and took a few steps closer to her "How do you know that Kay?"

Kayla sighed frustrated "Because I do okay! We were friends with benefits and it ended at that! Randy made it perfectly clear!" She exclaimed with so much pain in her voice.

John set his water bottle down and immediately brought her in for a hug "OK, OK I'm sorry Kay." he whispered

That was it, there it was he tears poured out and he mumbled into Johns chest "Why can't I get over him John? Why can't he just get out of my life?"

John just held his friend tightly and rubbed her back "Kay listen, this isn't good for the baby, you need to calm down."

Kayla sighed and nodded her head, pulled a little bit away from Johns hug, and straitening herself out "Ok your right." she sniffled and dabbed the tears off her face, her make up must have been messed up, but she could always fix that in the car.

John grabbed his water bottle and hers "Come on, Lets get going, we have a three hour ride ahead of us" he laughed softly walking to the door, with her behind him. She just shook off all the feelings she was having at this moment and walked with John to the door, thinking about nothing else but the amazing time she was going to have at her reveal party.

It was already half past 7 that night, Kayla and John had showed up right around 4 o clock, right when the party started, everyone was so happy to see Kayla and rub her big belly and give her congratulations, of course not everybody was there from the raw and smack down roster because lets face it, they all have very demanding jobs but the ones who could be there she was so happy to see and she noticed Randy was no where to be seen, thank god, so the word didn't get out through the grape vine that she was having a party, she was worried about the fact that it will but the people who she hung out with the most knew not to tell Randy a word about the pregnancy, not everyone agreed with her choice but they also knew it wasn't their place to tell Randy a word.

"Kay its almost time to cut that cake!" Nikki came running to Kayla's side in her 7 inch gold spiked heels.

Kayla gave a big smile and yelped "Yes, oh thank god! Ive been dying for this moment all night!"

Nikki grabbed her hand softly and pulled her towards the dessert table where the cake laid next to cupcakes, cookies and other goodies. "Man I'm so glad I don't have to go work all this off tomorrow." Kayla giggled with a wink.

Nikki and Brie just gave a soft laugh and they stood in from of her at the dessert table. Natalya was seen coming up to the table with her camera "Im taking picture Kay, so make sure you smile that beautiful smile girl!"

Kayla just shook her head and gave a soft laugh "Ok here it goes, I'm cutting!" Kayla exclaimed as she sliced the knife through the soft moist cake.

"And it a…" Brie exclaimed not able to see the color yet.

"Come on Kay, lift it up so we can see the color!" Nikki Exclaimed right behind he sisters remark.

Kayla bit her lip and lifted the cake slice from it snug place on the plate and gasped when she saw the color. This was it boy or girl, prince or princess, she was dying to see the color and when she did, she couldn't believe it, she was so happy, it didn't really matter boy or girl, it was still her baby and she was going to love it no matter what but just the fact that she knows now and she can plan for names and decorations for the nursery and setting up the nursery, just made it that much more special.

"Its a boy!" She screamed and let out a laugh and the biggest smile, as she placed the first slice of cake on a plate. Everyone in the room screamed and the all went around the table to give hugs and kisses to Kayla. Everyone was so excited for her and couldn't wait to see her new baby boy.

It was now 11:30 at night and people had just started clearing out, boy when Nikki and Brie say they will throw a party, they really throw one! A Gender reveal party is not supposed to last this long by any means, Not that Kayla was complaining. She had already called up Dwayne to tell him the good news and he was so happy for her, he couldn't wait to see her on the next day he got some time off. As of right now, Kayla was so done, they still had some cleaning up to do in the house but she had to sit for a minute.

"Oh my god, I am so ready for bed, I can't feel my feet!" Kayla stated falling back on to the couch and wiggling her toes in her flats, half way through the party she had to change her heels and into her flats there was no way she was going so many hours with heels on and being 6 months pregnant.

Nikki and Brie both looked at her and gave soft laughs "I bet you are!" Nikki exclaimed

"Did you like it, had a good time?" Brie questioned

Kayla smiled at both her friends "Oh you guys I loved it and I'm so excited to meet my little prince in 3 months." She said looking down at her belly giving it a soft rub.

Just as Nikki was about to speak Johns voice was heard in the kitchen, it seemed like he was trying to be discreet and talk low but he failed, Nikki, Brie and Kayla were all ears on him.

"Man, if you want to know how Kayla is doing so bad, why don't you just call her?" the girls heard first, then a bit of silence came and Johns voice spoke out again "Of course I have seen her, she's best friends with Nikki and she's my friend too, I can't keep filling you in on how she's doing, you need to just call her yourself."

Nikki and Brie looked back at Kayla, they knew exactly who he was talking to and Kayla did too, she bit her lip and looked down at her belly and then up again to where John was talking in the kitchen and she heard "Randy I keep telling you the same thing over and over and you don't believe me."

Nikki and brie then saw Kayla slowly stand up, Nikki looked at Brie confused and Brie looked at Kayla confused "What are you doing?" brie questioned.

Kayla smiled softly and squeezed Bries shoulder in assurance "Ill be right back." she whispered. Nikki and Brie both watched as she walked into the kitchen, towards where John was standing and talking on the phone.

As soon as John saw her he cleared his throat "Listen man, I gotta go."

Kayla walked right up to John and shook her head, telling him not to get off, and she put her hand out for him to give her the phone.

John raised a brow and stood there in shock for a minute "Hey Randy, hold on a minute." he then put the phone on mute and looked right at Kayla "Are you sure?"

Kayla just smiled and gave a nod "Mhmm." she licked her lips "To be honest I want to hear his voice too."

John smiled and handed the phone to her, he kissed her temple and whispered "Good luck." She laughed softly and rolled her eyes as she put the phone off mute. She took a deep breath and put the phone to her ear, she could hear noise faded in the background.

"Hey Randy…"

All she heard was silence for a good minute or so, she raised a brow and looked at the phone to make sure it wasn't on mute. Nope. she spoke up again "Randy?"

She heard him clear his throat "Oh I'm here."

She was about to open her mouth to speak again when he spoke for her "I'm just shocked to be talking to you."

She laughed softly "Well here I am."

Randy felt himself smiling, that laugh, he hadn't heard it in months and he was dying to be face to face with her again "What happened? Why did you decide to work from home?"

She knew this was coming, she knew talking to him would bring up questions, she cleared her throat and bit her lip "Uhm." she took a pause and continued "I just wanted a change of pace."

"Uh-huh. Good cover up." He laughed softly

She froze, did he know something "What do you mean?"

Randy`s lips smirked against the phone "So you didn't leave to get away from me? Because you couldn't handle being around me anymore?"

She rolled her eyes, she knew he was probably smirking right now, god the smirk, it always made her weak in the knees and it still does, just thinking about him with that smirk, whispering into her ear, it gave her chills and butterflies in her stomach. She cleared her throat and shook her head from her thoughts "Still self centered and cocky I see."

Randy laughed softly and licked his lips "Oh please baby, isn't that what you love about me?"

Kayla shivered, there it was that chill again, Jesus Christ even his voice did the trick, she swallowed the lump in her throat "Lov(ed) Randy, Past tense. I can't stand you now." She stated

"Right can't stand me but yet I bet I can still send shivers down your spine, remember when I used to run my lips down your collar bone, and run my hands down your shoulders, every time you would get goosebumps." he smirked through the phone again, she was quiet he knew he got to her "Don't think I forgot your collar bone is your sweet spot."

Kayla sighed frustrated "You know what, I don't know what I was thinking trying to talk to you, I'm just going to-" before she could finish her sentence he immediately cut her off.

"Hey, Kayla don't go, stay and talk to me." he asked genuinely "I promise ill be good."

Kayla raised a brow "You? Good?" she laughed "There`s two words that shouldn't be used in the same sentence."

Randy gave a soft chuckle to her comment "Ill try my hardest at least, I -uh.." he paused taking a moment to get out what he wanted to get out "I miss talking with you."

Kayla almost fell off the chair she was sitting on in the kitchen. 'Wait , did Randy just say he missed talking to me?' she thought 'Is this prank?' she then shook off her thoughts and replied back to him "I really don't know what to say to that Randy…" she gave of a soft laugh "I mean you never just wanted to talk to me."

Randy just cleared his throat, he knew she would be shocked, he didn't always do anything else but have sex with her and play games with her when they were together, he couldn't blame her in a way "There`s a first time for everything right?" he said in a low voice

She smiled and bit her lower lip "Yeah, I guess so."

Nikki and Brie were snooping and trying to hear every word from the living room but it was hard to hear, being a long distance from the kitchen. John just shook his head with a laugh "Would you guys stop snooping and leave her alone."

"She talking with Randy, this can get bad." Brie stated

Nikki tilted her head and raised a brow, almost in confusion "I don't know about that Brie, She smiling a lot."

John just smirked and turned from the TV to his nosy girlfriend and her sister and laughed softly "Yeah well maybe Randy is changing."

Nikki and Brie both snickered and turned their heads back around to John "Changing, Pfft." Nikki exclaimed.

"Yeah John, sorry to break it to you, but a leopard never changes his spots." Brie stated taking the last sip of her wine for that night.

Ok this is a longer chapter than usual but I had a lot I needed to fit into it. What do you think of Chapter 16? Kayla is having a boy! and Randy wants to talk to her? he misses her?
