Chapter 25

October 22, 2012: Monday Night Raw

It had been exactly a week since Randy and Kayla had their confrontation about everything. He had yet to speak to her again since then, he was too busy thinking of his next move with Kim and Kayla as well as still holding a grudge. Despite the fact that Randy and Kayla seemed to end things on OK terms last week, he still felt angry, hurt and betrayed that she would do something like that to him. What calmed him down from becoming more pissed off t her last week was the hurt and sadness shown in her voice when she brought up how hurt she was from their ended fling last year. Randy knew he had hurt her and he knew he was lying to both himself and her when he used to tell her that he wanted nothing more than sex from her because he saw it now. He did. He wanted a life with her and Jacob, who he now found out was his son.

He sighed and leaned back in the steel chair running both hands through his very short hair. He wanted so much to pack up and leave Kim and finally start his life with Kayla but he had so many unanswered questions that he never got to ask Kayla last week. Why did she have everyone in on it? Why didn't anyone tell her despite her telling them not to? Why did she think that he would actually not accept his son and reject them? These questions were all valid in his mind and he wanted an answer from her. But before that, he needed to decide where he stood with Kim. He knew he only got into a relationship with her to fill the void and to distract him from his feeling from Kayla but now it seems like he could actually have a shot with Kayla and win her back so why would he continue this charade with Kim, it would only hurt her more in the end.

He groaned and finished taping up his wrists "I have to talk to her…" he mumbled to himself.

"Talk to who?"

Randy turned his attention to the confused brunette standing in the doorway dressed in red ring attire "Hey Nikki…" he whispered almost in a frustrated manner.

Nikki walked inside the locker room closing the door behind her "I uh-" she paused looking him up and down, she had never seen him so quiet and down "I came looking for John but he probably hasn't finished his promo with AJ Lee yet…"

Randy just shook his head "Nah but he should be here soon." he stated getting up from the steel chair.

Nikki bit her lip and attempted a conversation with him "Hey Randy, You ok?"

Randy turned to her and sighed "Just a lot on my mind…"

Nikki sat on the wooden benches in the locker room and watched him jump up and down and side to side, warming up "I can imagine, but doesn't it feel good to know Jacob is your son and Kayla is still in love with you?"

"Yeah that feels great.." he shook his head and punched his fists into the air still warming up his muscles "But then theres the fact that she lied to me, she betrayed me in a way I never thought she could!" he exclaimed with a hint of anger.

Nikki could see he still had some underlying anger and pain from what Kayla did and she couldn't blame him but she couldn't go against her best friend either, if anything she had to help her. "I get it Randy but you have to understand the way you used to treat her, thats why she was so adamant about not telling you."

"That still gives her no right!" He shouted and when he saw Nikki jump back from his change in voice he sighed "Sorry…I just can't help still being pissed, I lost a year of my sons life Nicole!"

She nodded "I know but its not too late to step in and give him a father who loves him."

Randy nodded and just let out a long sigh "Theres so much I wanted to tell Kayla the other night but when she started crying and I saw the pain in her eyes I couldn't scream at her anymore, I couldn't yell, all I could do was want to hold her."

"Its because you love her Randy, despite the fact that she hurt you…" Nikki smiled softly.

Randy looked over at her and matched his smile with hers. "I can see why Kayla chose you as her best friend now." he chuckled "Your always standing up for her."

Nikki laughed "This is true but its also true that I don't want to see a love like that go to waste."

He smirked and stopped his warm up, reaching over and grabbing his water bottle from the bench "Theres still a lot to workout and a lot of questions I need answer from but I hope it doesn't go to waste."

The sound of the door opening and closing took Nikki and Randy away from their conversation and they both took their gaze over to the door where a smiling John Cena stood.

"Hey Baby." Nikki smiled over to him. He took a few steps closer to her and gave her a small peck on the lips and sat down next to her "Was I interrupting something?"

Randy shook his head with a laugh "Nah man, we were just talking."

John raised a brow and gave a chuckle "Talking?" he paused and Nikki nodded "You two?" he questioned almost in disbelief.

"Yeah why, something wrong with that?" Nikki questioned with one hand on her hip.

John threw his left hand up in defense while the other hand was wrapped around her waist "No, Im just glad to see you two talking civil and not at each others throats."

Randy just let out a chuckle as he sat near the couple on the bench while Nikki just rolled her eyes "Yeah well I guess people can change."

"Hey!" Randy exclaimed "I wasn't that bad."

"Oh you were man." John laughed

Randy smirked "Well maybe Kayla liked me as bad as I was."

Nikki laughed "Yeah that's the problem, she did, but that doesn't mean you go back to being a total asshole!"

John cut in between his girlfriend and best friend and turned his gaze toward Randy "So have you talked to Kayla since the blow up last week?"

Randy sighed shaking his head "No man, I was just telling Nikki, I have a lot on my mind and a lot more questions to ask Kayla before anything moves forward."

John nodded and knew what Randy was feeling and he warned Kayla about it but he knew the would get through this it was just going to take some time "Your still pissed about her keeping Jacob from you?"

Randy snickered "Wouldn't you be?"

John sighed and gave Randy that much "Well I spoke to her last night and she seemed to think you guys ended things OK, I mean there wasn't any blood" he laughed softly trying to lighten the mood.

Randy leaned back against the benches and sighed "Yeah because I couldn't stand to see her crying or upset so all the anger in me kinda washed away for a couple minutes."

"You got to talk to her again man…I'm sure she's waiting." John encouraged his friend to take the first step and talk to Kayla.

"I know I do and I want to…" he took a deep breath and looked over at the couple.

Kayla laughed softly at the other person who spoke to her over the phone "Would you stop I don't even know how things are going to go with him yet."

Dwayne smirked and let of a soft chuckle "Oh please you know damn well Randy aint going to let you slip through his fingers no matter how pissed at you about this he is."

Kayla just rolled her eyes with a small smile and hoped deep down that what Dwayne was saying was true but she knew very well she hurt Randy and she hadn't heard from him for a week now and that scared her enough into thinking that he was deciding on staying with Kim. "We`ll see…I feel like even though he knows now, I'm still distraught over this whole situation, I still feel horrible for everything."

"Listen stop beating yourself up, you did what you did and you can't change that now…" he paused and took a deep breath "What you can do is keep showing him how sorry you are and give him a position in Jacobs life."

Kayla nodded her head in agreement and took the phone away from her ear to only glance at the time "It past 11 already, they are probably leaving the arena soon."

Dwayne smirked, he knew very well she was dying to get a call or text or any signal from Randy and it was killing her that she hadn't heard from him "Your so desperate for him to call."

Kayla bit her lower lip "Well the sooner he calls the sooner we can talk more about this."

"And the sooner you guys can make up and be together right?" As much as it pained Dwayne to say that because he still hadn't gotten over Kayla, he did, he had her best interest at heart.

"I'm not so sure…" She trailed off, playing with her finger on the kitchen counter.

Dwayne raised a brow "Are you kidding? You don't think he still loves you?"

"No I know he does but…" She took a deep breath in "He's been with Kim for over a year, there might be feelings there, despite what he says, and he still hasn't spoken to me since the fight."

Dwayne shook his head "Kayla, beautiful…" he wanted to almost laugh at what she said "Yes that is true but you are the one he loves, he lost you once and I know if it were me Id be damned if I didn't hold on tighter than the last time."

Kayla smiled softly "Thanks Dwayne…I guess I just need to be more patient."

"You know those things are going to kill you one day Orton." HHH exclaimed as he and Stephanie crossed paths with the younger wrestler outside the arena in East Rutherford New Jersey.

Randy looked to his left to see the power couple and laughed taking another drag of his cigarette and letting the smoke out "Yeah not if Kayla kills me first for starting up again."

HHH let out a soft chuckle and shook his head "Why did you start again man, that shit is disgusting." he said pointing to the stick in between his fingers.

Randy sighed and shrugged "I was going through a lot emotionally and I felt with it the best way I could to not take it out on the people around me."

HHH nodded knowing what he was referring to, both he and Steph knew very well the feelings he had for Kayla Brooks, the writer. Steph looked intently at Randy as he took another drag and it seemed like he still had a lot on his mind. "Well we have to get going if we are going to get any rest for our flight out." she laughed softly.

Randy gave the couple a smile and a nod go the head before he watched the take off in the distance. Not 10 seconds later he felt a pat on his shoulder and a voice ring through his ears "Your still smoking that shit."

Randy groaned and rolled his eyes and before he could speak up he heard the female voice follow "I can't wait until Kayla finds out and kicks your ass!"

Randy flicked the cigarette bud on the ground and stomped it with his foot, he then proceeded to turn to the couple the voice belonged to. "Yeah thanks!" he stated sarcastically.

Nikki smirked and shook her head "You know that's not good for your health especially being a professional wrestler."

Randy sighed rolling his eyes "God you sound just like Kayla used to sound."

John just stood there and laughed "Well they are both right, you don't need that crap."

"Its called an addiction John…" Randy smirked and leaned against the wall "But don't worry as soon as I satisfy my other addiction this one will be long gone."

John shook his head with a laugh while Nikki gave a soft cringe "Eww, come on that's you and my best friend your talking about!"

Randy just shrugged keeping the smirk on his face, hearing John put his two cents in again "Yeah I'm sure it will be that easy, don't think Kayla won't find out."

"Don't worry I know how to calm her down if she does." Randy licked his lips that same smirk still staying on his face.

Nikki rolled her eyes "Here we go, back to the arrogance."

John laughed softly and looked back over to Randy "You might want to remember your still with Kim."

Randy sighed and kicked a few rocks on the ground with his feet "Not for long.." he mumbled.

Randy sighed as he kicked off his shoes, dropped his bags on the floor and fell back on to the couch, he was so happy to in ally be home, in his home, he had a few days off from everything, interviews, work, signings and he couldn't be happy to just relax in the peace of his own home and sleep in his own bed for a few days. He closed his eyes and laid his head back on the couch rubbing his temples, the second his eyes closed he thought about Kayla, he wanted to meet up to talk with her again and hopefully finally get to meet Jacob face to face and now that he had a few days off that's exactly what he was going to do. He needed to talk to her and move on from the anger he had. He decided it wasn't too late to give her a call now, knowing her she might still be awake looking over scripts for next week. Just as he grabbed his phone and was about to speed dial her number, a voice came from behind him.

"Welcome home baby."

He turned around to come in contact with Kim, her hair loosely curled and her body dressed in a black sequin and lace nighty. He wasn't going to lie that she did look beautiful but it just did nothing for him, not the way Kayla amazed him. "Kim what are you doing here?" He asked with a low tone

She sauntered over to him on the couch and straddled his legs sitting on top of his knees "What a girlfriend can't come surprise her man when he gets home?"

He swallowed hard and forced a small smile "No that's not it, I just wasn't expecting…" he sighed exasperated "I love the surprise."

She leaned down and whispered softly against his ear "Good, then you can show me how much you loved it."

He clenched his jaw trying not to push her off at the moment "Kim listen…I'm really tired right now."

Kim raised a brow and looked down into his eyes "You've never turned me down because your tired…" she got off him and sat next to him on the couch "Whats wrong?"

"Nothing!" He shouted frustrated "What I can't be tired?!" he looked at her and she just sat there almost scared by his outburst. He sighed and looked down at the ground, he didn't mean to shout, he was just frustrated because she was trying to have sex and he was trying to break up with her within the next few hours.

"Fine." she stated simply and closed the robe that was opened around her body "Ill just meet you in bed then." She lifted off the couch and leaned down kissing him softly on the lips "Goodnight." She stated before walking away.

He couldn't take it, he needed to get this stress out, he needed to feel good by himself right now. He lifted off the couch grabbing his pack of cigarettes from his jacket pocket and made his way over to the sliding doors that led to the back yard. He sat down on one of the chairs placed on the balcony leading out to the backyard and placed a cigarette in his mouth, shielding it from the wind as he lit it. He took one drag in and let out the smoke and suddenly felt himself relax. He remembered that he was going to call Kayla and talk to her about meeting up, so he took out his phone for the second time and dialed her number.

"Hello?"

Randy smiled softly, her voice instantly made him relax more. Her voice was soft and a bit raspy as if she was sleeping, he felt bad having woken her up he just expected her to still be awake, usually at this time she still was, especially if she was up writing scripts. "Were you sleeping?" he questioned in a soft tone

Kayla suddenly sat up in her bed hearing his voice, she cleared her throat and closed the laptop that sat on her legs. "Ahem, Randy Hey…" she smiled "No, No I was just trying to get some scripts finished on my laptop."

He raised a brow and nodded his head not believing a word of it "Do you forget that we were together for two years and I can tell when your lying?"

She looked down and laughed softly "I thought we weren't really together, I thought it was just sex?"

Randy blew the smoke out his mouth and sighed looking down in disappointment, that stung when she said it.

When Kayla heard the line quiet, she knew she shouldn't have said it, she knew that wasn't right, especially since she found out he loves her. She cleared her throat "Randy Im sorry that was uncalled for…"

He shook his head and took another drag of his cigarette "No Kayla don't be, your right I was an Idiot and a selfish jerk and believe me I've paid for it within the last year."

She bit her lip and moved her laptop onto the other side of her bed, pulling the covers higher over herself "Why couldn't you ever accept your feelings for me but then Kim comes along and you started a real relationship with her?"

Randy knew this question was going to come up sooner or later and it was a valid one "Ive got some questions for you too but Id rather do it in person, not over the phone."

Kayla nodded her head tucking a strand of hair behind her ear "Understood and agreed, Do you want to meet up to finish our discussion?"

He smiled at how soft spoken she was because when she was with him there were times when she was anything but that "Yeah, how about next week after Raw? We can go out for a coffee after and I know your favorite place."

She looked down at the sheets and blushed at the fact that he remembered even though he never took her there.

"And stop blushing, don't seem so shocked that I remember." He stated through the phone knowing her all too well.

She laughed softly and as soon as she was about to say something, she heard Jacob calling out for her. She heard it a few times 'Mama….Mama…Mama'! Her head shot up and she knew it must have been the thunder that woke him up and just as she was about to tell Randy she needed to go, he beat her to it "Sounds like somebody needs you."

She didn't know what to say this is the first time she was talking to Randy where he knew Jacob was his son and they were talking about him. "He needs me too Kayla and I want to be there for him."

Kayla smiled and nodded as she got up from the bed "I know he does and he will have you soon enough."

Randy flicked the cigarette out and smiled "Well go check on him and give him a kiss goodnight from me, even though he has no idea who I am, right?" he questioned with a hint of anger behind that sentence.

Kayla felt it and it hurt her. She felt like it was a stab through the heart but she knew she deserved it, she looked down ashamed "Yeah I deserved that…Im Sorry Randy."

He sighed and ran a hand through his short hair "No Kay, I'm sorry that was a low blow, I'm just not over what you did…"

Kayla nodded and heard Jacob call out to her again "I can understand that but Randy I really have to go he keeps calling."

Randy nodded with a smile "Go. Ill see you next week."

"Alright, Bye." As soon as she said her goodbyes, Randy said his and just as he was locking his phone and standing up to go back inside her heard her voice behind him and he froze in his place.

"Who was that? And why are you going out next week after Raw?"

So in this chapter we see that Randy has clearly not gotten over what Kayla did and it will be awhile, hes still upset with her but not upset enough to stop talking to her, when they decide to meet up to talk more about their situation, Kim overhears, Uh-oh!
