Chapter 30
December 24th: Christmas Eve
Randy groaned as he sat back on the leather couch, allowing his head to fall back and rest on the back of the couch. He shifted himself from side to side until he got comfortable, once he did he felt a tug on his black track pants and when he looked down he saw happy, bright blue yes staring back at him. In as much pain as he was he still couldn't help but smile brightly at his son begging for his attention "Daddy!"
He slowly leaned forward, enough to where the pain in his back wasn't shooting down his right leg. "Hey buddy, what are you up to? huh?" He question ruffling the little boys hair.
Jacob smiled brightly and walked back over to his race track in the middle of the living room floor, he giggled a little bit and looked up at Randy "Daddy?"
Randy looked at him sympathetically "No daddy can't play right now buddy, I'm hurt."
Jacob just watched as Randy leaned back against the couch again and watched him play "Go ahead and play buddy ill sit here with you."
Jacob just looked back down at his toy cars and his race track and got back to playing, he quickly got very involved in his toys and shrugged off his dad not being able to play with him. Randy was luckily home for christmas, I guess you can say that it was lucky and unlucky because an injury caused him to be home, he had injured his back in a match a couple weeks ago on Raw and he has been feeling better and coming back from the injury but he's not 100% yet.
"Baby Im back from the store!" Randy heard an angelic female voice call out being followed by a slam of the front door.
He smiled at the voice and decided to get himself off the couch and go greet his girlfriend, he took a quick glance at Jacob who was now on to playing with his legos and got up walking towards the kitchen where Kayla now stood with handfuls of bags sitting on the center aisle in the kitchen.
He walked up behind her and kissed her neck softly, grazing his lips against her collar bone, he mumbled "Was the store packed?"
Kayla smiled and shivers ran down her spine at the sensation of Randy's lips. She quickly turned around in his arms, her gaze meeting with his "No, I just had a lot to get for the party tonight." she answered as her hand traveled to the middle of his back, gently massaging it "Hows your back?"
Randy softly moaned feeling her fingers delicately massage against the discs in his mid-spine "Better.." he leaned down and whispered into her ear "But I could use one of your amazing massages."
Kayla smirked and moved his face to face her, leaning up to place a chaste kiss on his lips "How about tonight?"
Randy smirked and rubbed both sides of her hips "Sounds like a date."
Kayla shook her head giving a soft laugh and turned back around paying attention to her groceries, Randy proceeded to sit on a stool next to her on the center aisle. Kayla watched as he tried to get comfortable on the stool "Baby, why don't you go sit on the couch?"
Randy shook his head and waved off her comment "No its alright baby…" he peeked in a few of the bags "What did you get?"
Kayla sighed putting away some of the groceries "Well mainly drinks…" she responded, took a pause then continued "Champagne, beer, vodka…" she trailed off.
"Damn your gonna have people get shitfaced babe?" He questioned with a laugh.
Kayla just shook her head with a laugh and continued to arrange the groceries around the kitchen, Randy turned around on the stool and peeked through to kitchen to the living room, to make sure Jacob was still doing good, which he was still focused on playing with his legos. "I swear he can play with those things for hours."
Kayla smiled and looked over to where Randy was looking "Yeah he's a good boy, plays and lets us adults do what we need to do."
Randy nodded his head in agreement "I can't say it enough Kay, you did an amazing job through his first year baby."
Kayla walked over to him and wrapped her arms around his neck "The one thing I did wrong was not having you there with me." Kayla whispered and leaned down kissing him a soft but passionate kiss, letting her lips trail on his for a few seconds longer after the kiss ended.
"Mommy! Daddy!" They heard a small little voice from the corner of the room and when they turned they spotted their son, giggling at the site in front of him. Kayla ran over to him and lifted him in her arms, lifting him up to the ceiling, blowing raspberries on his stomach and bringing him back down. Randy followed behind her and lifted Jacob's arm softly biting on his ribs causing him to go into a fit of laughter, following his laugh both Randy and Kayla got in a couple laughs themselves just hearing their son laugh.
8pm:
Kayla tilted her head and looked at herself in their bedroom mirror, she wanted to look just perfect for the party but mainly for Randy, she wanted to look sexy, beautiful, breathtaking, everything, just for him. Her dark brown hair was falling over her shoulder and in front of her chest with loose cascading curls and her bangs softly falling into her face, she had on a black and silver smokey eye, which brought out the darker color of her hazel eyes. Traveling down her body she came upon her red dress, this dress sat right above her knees and fitted tightly around her body showing off her amazing curves and as she turned and peeked around to the back of herself she saw the draped open back on the dress, she turned back around and made sure the lace up, stripy black heels went good with the dress and they did. She did a once over again and smiled brightly "Perfect." she whispered to herself.
"Yes you are baby." came a deep voice from the door.
Her head snapped towards their bedroom door and she bit her lower lip, blushing at what Randy had said. "Thank you baby."
Randy took a few steps, getting closer to her, as he got close enough, he looked at her in the mirror and matched her smile "Damn, I didn't think you could get more beautiful but you proved me wrong."
Kayla felt blush come up to her cheeks again and lowered her head with a smile. She felt Randy's lips come and brush against her ear "But its missing something."
Her head looked up once again and her eyes met with Randy's in the mirror, she tilted her head questionably "What?"
Randy reached into his pocket and took out a black box, Kayla's heart staring beating in her chest, was this about to happen, was he going to do what she thought? 'Oh my god, is he going to…' she could finish her thought because Randy opened the box to reveal a diamond neckless, each diamond in the shape of a heart. Kayla had to admit her heart sunk, and she was a tiny bit disappointed but that didn't stop her from gasping and admiring the beautiful neckless that he held in the box "Oh My God, Randy…" she whispered.
He smiled and gently removed it from the box, bringing the neckless to her chest and wrapping it around her neck, he clasped it on the back and softly kissed the back of her neck. "Now its perfect."
She let her fingers linger along the neckless and gave a bright smile "Baby, thank you so much its beautiful!" She turned around to face him.
His blue eyes searched her hazel ones and he leaned down giving her a slow kiss, when he pulled away he smiled against her lips "Merry Christmas baby."
9pm:
The time had flown by and Jacob was still sleeping, thank god! Kayla had put him down earlier, around 7 o`clock but she knew with the party starting and the noise, he would wake up any minute. She prayed that he didn't because she felt bad, she wanted him to get a good nights sleep that way when he opened the presents at mid-night he wouldn't be so cranky. Just in case of anything she kept the baby monitor close to her to make sure she didn't miss hearing any of his cries.
She handed the glass filled with red wine over to Nikki "The place looks great!" Nikki commented.
Brie nodded her head in agreement "Yeah you guys went all out with the christmas decorations."
Kayla laughed softly and took a sip of her wine "Well I want Jacob to get into this holiday and love christmas."
"He will." Nikki responded just as she felt and arm being wrapped around her waist, she looked up to meet with the eyes of John.
John smiled to the 3 group of women "And who are you ladies gossiping about?"
Kayla rolled her eyes with a smile "Why do we have to be gossiping about someone?"
"Your girls, its christmas time…" He paused with a shrug "Someone got a botched boob job somewhere."
The three girls laughed at John comment and Brie spoke up "Well it wasn't me…" she pointed to her minimally small chest.
They all laughed at that and it was now Kayla's turn to feel an arm being wrapped around her waist, she looked at the arms encircling her and noticed the familiar tattoos, she looked up into his blue eyes and smiled.
Nikki cut in on their moment "Aw look at you two!"
Randy looked over at Nikki and laughed "You jealous?"
Nikki raised a brow and leaned up giving a soft kiss on John lips "Nothing to be jealous of!"
Randy shook his head "Relax it was a joke."
John cut in to the two about to start their usually bickering "Randy, hows your back holding up man?"
Randy sighed and shrugged his shoulders, letting his hand fall to the small of Kayla's back "Getting better, can't complain." he looked down at Kayla and gave a smirk "I have the best nurse in the country standing right here."
Brie gagged disgusted "Ugh, what you guys do on your own time…"
Nikki and John just laughed at Brie facial expression, Randy nodded his head towards John and questioned "Hey man, lets get another drink, I need to talk to you about something."
John raised a brow but nodded in agreement, he leaned down giving Nikki a quick kiss on the lips and brought his attention to the other two friends "Ill see you guys later." he commented right before he left the circle and followed Randy.
Kayla bit her lip and she had to admit she was a bit intrigued "I wonder what they`re talking about?"
Brie took a sip of her wine and waved off her comment "Oh I wouldn't worry about it, probably guy stuff, cars and what not."
Kayla looked back over to the two girls stood in front of her, as soon as she was going to comment her opinion a new face joined the circle "Hey guys!"
They all looked up to see the blonde divas with a streak of pink in her hair and a black cocktail dress with red heels. Kayla was the first to speak up "Nat you came!" She smiled and leaned over giving her a hug.
Nikki and Brie both greeted the diva as well, they all got into a slow conversation when Nat suddenly gasped and admired the necklace around Kayla's neck "Oh my god thats beautiful Kay."
Kayla smiled looking down at her diamond necklace and let her finger gently lay upon it "Thank youuu." she chimed with a giggle.
"Mhmm." Nikki cut in "Her man gave that to her just before the party."
Brie just laughed and Nat smiled at the very in love Kayla "He has good taste girl, it looks beautiful on you."
"Thanks Nat." Kayla thanked and smiled.
"To be honest I thought he would have given you something else by now." Nikki commented with a soft shrug.
Brie kicked her sister, trying to give her a hint to not bring up that subject. Nikki squealed "Ow, Bitch!" She whispered to her twin and gave her a glare. Brie gave her the same glare warning her to shut up.
Kayla shook her head running and hand through her hair "Yes guys, I know what something else you are thinking of but Randy will do it when he's ready." she replied and shrugged her shoulders "I mean Im just happy we are finally in a committed relationship and we have our own little family."
"Wouldn't it seem more complete if he popped the question?" Natalie cut in asking.
Kayla nodded "Of course It would but there is no way I'm pressuring him!" she exclaimed taking the last sip of her wine.
"What are we talking about over here?!" A smiling AJ Lee commented now joining the group as well.
"Hey Aj!" Kayla greeted with a soft smile, her smile was wanting to fade, thinking about the topic they were talking about but she was damned if it was going to make her ruin her Christmas.
"We are talking about when Randy is going to pop the question to Kayla?" Nikki answered AJs question.
Aj Raised a brow and took a sip of her vodka and cranberry juice. "He hasn't asked you yet?"
Kayla groaned "Oh My God, you guys!" She exclaimed "We have only been officially for like a month or two."
Nikki snickered and let out a frustrated laugh "Yeah but you guys have known each other for 3 years and been together already once for 2 years."
"Yeah but-" Kayla was cut off
"This is true, you guys know each other enough and are comfortable enough." AJ added in her two cents.
Kayla looked down at her wine glass completely empty and shook her head "I need more wine."
Brie laughed softly and leaned over hugging her friend "Guys, Ok, lets leave Kayla alone about this."
Nikki, AJ, and Natalie all nodded and let the subject go and the continued on with a new subject, bringing up what the new year would bring, or what they might get for Christmas or any gossip that they have heard floating around the locker room and just as Kayla was about to add herself into the conversation she heard Jacobs cry over the monitor.
"Aww he's up already?" Brie questioned
Kayla smiled giving a sympathetic look "Yeah he may not be able to sleep well with the party going on."
"Can I come up with you?!" Nikki pleaded with a smile
Kayla gave a soft laugh and nodded a yes to her friend and just as she was about to leave the group with Nikki, Nat commented "Make sure you bring him down here I want to squeeze him tight and give him millions of kisses!"
"Me too and tell him I have the most adorable present for him!" AJ replied soon after with her own comment.
Kayla just shook her head and laughed starting to head upstairs with Nikki, and just as she got to the top of the stairs she turned around to see Randy looking at her from afar, she smiled and bit her lower lip. Randy smirked and gave her a small wink and she blushed and made her way up the stairs with Nikki to check on Jacob.
1AM:
Kayla walked back downstairs, just having put Jacob down in his crib, he was so overly tired and cranky, she knew he wasn't going to wake up early by any means tomorrow. The party had ended a little later than planned and people took awhile to rush out and go home but it was all fine by her, she had such a great night and she was glad they did too, she just felt bad her poor baby was dead tired and now she's just happy she got him to sleep and she can now spend time with her man. She ran her fingers through her now very loose curls as she reached the living room where Randy sat on the couch with his head resting against the back of it and his eyes closed. She smiled and slipped off her heels before walking into the living room to join him on the couch.
She made her way over to the couch and made herself comfortable right next to him, she leaned up and kissed him softly on the lips, she felt him smile under her lips and as she pulled away from the kiss she saw his head lift up and his blue eyes meet with hers. "Mmm I can never get enough of those lips." he whispered to her.
She smiled and rested her elbow against the back of the couch, letting her hand travel up his chest "Oh yeah?" she smirked "Me either…"
He pushed a few loose curls behind her ear and held his gaze with hers "You happy baby?"
Kayla tilted her head in awe of his question "Of course I am…" she whispered with a small smile. "Are you?"
He smirked and leaned up kissing her lips, he didn't answer her, he just looked over at the dressed up Christmas tree and nodded his head "You know there is still one more present under the tree."
Kayla raised a brow at his response, or lack of response but she decided to play along, she looked over at the large well lit tree and noticed a small little black bag under the tree, closer to the trunk "Huh." she mumbled and walked over and as she made her way over to the tree Randy still had the same smirk played upon his lips. "Who's it for?" he asked
Kayla slowly squatted down and reached over grabbing the little black bag in her hands and turned it over to read the tag hanging off one of the handles, it read 'To: Kayla From: Santa', she laughed softly at the inscription and looked up at her boyfriend with a big smile and a shake of the head "Well apparently its to me from Santa."
Randy just held his smirk and leaned forward on the couch, resting his elbows on his knees, watching as she lifted herself up from her squatting position and made her way back over to him with the bag still in her hand.
"Now correct me if I'm wrong baby, but doesn't Santa only deliver to the little ones?" she questioned playfully as she took her same seat on the couch next to Randy.
Randy loved the fact that she played along with his game, she loved the carefree, fun loving side of her and he was more than ready for her to have this gift. He shrugged his shoulders "Maybe Santa thought highly of you and knew you deserved this."
"Maybe Santa is just trying to score points?" Kayla smirked
Randy gave a soft laugh and shook his head "Let me open it for you…" he stated reaching over and grabbing the box from her hand.
"Im confused, I thought this was my gift?" She held her smirk and gave a soft laugh.
"Shh, Just close your eyes." Randy demanded with a smile before reaching into the box to pull out what was inside.
Kayla sighed with a smile and shook her head at her boyfriends little games "Fine ok!" she lifted both her hands, one covering each eye "Randy honestly honey the necklace you gave me was enough…"
Randy gave a small shake of the head, taking out the contents that were in the little black bag "Well you needed something to go with that diamond necklace."
Kayla sighed and shook her head "Baby, honestly-"
Randy cut her off from finishing her sentence "Shh." he held the present in his hand but before telling her to open her eyes he asked "You love me?"
With her hands still covering her eyes she answered "You know I do."
"Open your eyes." He stated in a whisper
She removed her hands from her eyes and when she opened them she saw Randy holding a little black box covered in velvet. She already knew. Her heart went cold and she froze, she thought she lost her words, she thought she forgot how to speak, when she looked up at him everything came back to her "Randy what are you-"
He cut her off by getting up from the couch and getting down on one knee. Kayla gasped in shock, throwing a hand over her lips, she wanted to pinch herself to see if she was dreaming but her whole body was frozen, she didn't know how to move at this point.
He smirked softly at her reaction "The best present you could ever give me would be becoming my wife so I ask you now Kayla Brooks…" he paused only for a second to open the little black box a reveal a beautiful princess cut diamond ring. "Marry Me?"
Tears sprang from her eyes and the feeling in her heart got bigger and stronger, she felt a huge lump in her throat and this made her unable to response quick enough. She looked up into his blue eyes and swallowed the lump forming in her throat, finally gaining her strength to speak again, she smiled brightly and whispered "Yes!"
His smile matches hers and he removes the ring from the box and reached over sliding it on to her finger, as soon as he did, she quickly leans over and kisses him fiercely and passionately, she couldn't contain her emotions at that point and all she wanted to do was spill them out in that one kiss. He wrapped his arms around her waist and lifted himself along with her up from the floor. She wrapped her arms around his neck and seconds later slowly pulled away, he rested his forehead against her and whispered "So ask me again."
She licked her lips and searched his eyes, confused "Ask you what?"
"If I'm happy?" he answered with a smile
She let a small blush creep to her cheeks and shook her head amused "Are you happy baby?" she asked for the second time that night while looking into his eyes.
He smirked and nodded his head "Now I am."
She let out a soft laugh and leaned up on her tipie toes, giving him another soft kiss, as she let go she rubbed her lips against his and heard him whisper "Why don't you head up to bed and ill meet you there in a couple minutes?" he asked
She smiled and nodded her head "What are you gonna do?"
"Oh Im just going to shut everything off down here.." he answered and smacked her butt lightly "Go on, ill meet you there.." and just as she was about to walk away he grabbed her waist and pulled her smack against him again, his hands trailing down and gripping her butt forcefully. "And please wait up for me."
She smirked and leaned up nibbling on his lower lip "If you really need me to." she commented playfully as he let her go and she walked away, but not before looking back and giving him a smile. She made her way up the long staircase and just as she was about to turn to the left to go to their bedroom, she decided to check on Jacob first and make sure he was sleeping okay. She turned the other way and noticed the door was slightly creaked open, she looked inside and smiled and the stretched out, sleeping baby boy in his crib. She could hear the faint baby snores coming from her son and it made her want to giggle but she stopped herself so as not to wake him up.
She leaned her body against the door frame and just watched him sleep, she heard him softly breathing in and out and watched as his back rises up and down from his breathing. She felt so incredibly lucky when he was born and there she was a year later and she had yet another thing to feel ever more lucky for. A soft kiss behind her ear wakes her from her daze, she smiles softly and sighs contently as he continues to kiss behind her ear "Im the luckiest man in the world, aren't I?" he mumbles against her skin.
She takes a deep breath in and out and bites her lower lip, the smile still stuck on her face "And you better not forget it." She warned playfully just below a whisper.
Randy gives a soft laugh and snakes his arms around her waist, looking to where he eyes were set, on the sleeping boy in the crib, and smiles "I love you and Jacob so much, I can't wait to marry you and finally be a family."
Kayla turns around in his arms and gazed into his icy blues before leaning up and giving him a slow and passionate kiss, she felt him groan softly into the kiss and knew his passion was building. She slowly pulled away and mumbled "Me either baby…"
Randy reached over and took hold of the door knob to Jacobs room, he slowly pulled it towards them and closed the door shut, just as he heard the door click he quickly lifted Kayla's feet off the ground and wrapped her legs around his waist, bringing his lips down to hers for another passionate kiss, this time he wasn't letting her pull away. He walked her over to their master bedroom and kicked the door shut behind him, just as they both her it slam shut, he laid her down on the bed beneath them and heard her moan softly as his hands found their way up her red dress, he pulled away reluctantly and gave her his signature smirk, as always "Merry Christmas, Mrs. soon-to-be Orton."
Kayla let her head fall and she let out a soft laugh, feeling randy lean down and kiss the side of her neck, she responded in a whisper "Merry Christmas Mr. Orton."
If someone would have told Kayla three years ago that in three years she would have a son named Jacob with Randy and be engaged to be married to him, she would have told them that they were screwing with her. That would have been the last thought entering her mind from how Randy used to act around her and treat her when they first started their so called love affair. However now this goes so much deeper than where the first began, they were finally where Kayla wanted to be she wanted commitment with this man, she wanted marriage and kids from him and to her surprise that's what she got, she also got something much more, she got a side of Randy she would only see once in a blue, the loving and more sensitive side of him and she couldn't ask for anything more at this point. She was happy with her life and she would trade it for anything in the world. Now it was time to break the news to all their friends. Boy won't they be happy! Kayla thinks they have been waiting for this more than she has! And she knew exactly who she was going to tell first. Nikki. 'What a Christmas!' she thought right before Randy unzipped her dress and threw it on the floor underneath them.
