Part two of the clarification of my mistake. I can remember the exact moment I thought up Morgan's speech at the end. It was in 8th grade Chorus class. Now I'm a Sophomore in college. I plan to finish this story by the end of this summer.

Emily's pov

Everyone was scared. And really, you couldn't blame them. One of the students just...went berserk. Absolutely berserk. We were huddled in the gym for hours. Morgan still wasn't around. Some people said Morgan cursed Sissi and the entire school. I defended her of course. That was absurd. How in the world would she even do that? Magic wasn't real. You couldn't actually curse someone.

After a few hours of no further incident, the police came in and said we could walk about freely. We should be careful, but we did not need to be on lockdown anymore. We all ventured out and tried to figure out what had happened. Dormers went back to their rooms. Day students went back home. It was technically the start of summer break, tomorrow. Usually students would be cheering and screaming that they were finally free from school...but all was sober. We each knew we had just been through something that would stick with us the rest of our lives.

I sat in the gym for a while.

Then my phone buzzed. I had a text. From Morgan.

Can you please pick up a phone for me and meet me at that cafe you like? I promise to pay you back. I need a new one.

That was...a strange request. I responded.

What happened to your phone?

It broke, and I'm stuck here. Please hurry.

Please hurry? Something was going on. And...if she couldn't talk about it, it was fine. It was a really weird request. She wanted me to buy her a cellphone and meet her at the cafe? Uh...well, I supposed I could do that. Sure. Morgan was a friend.

And so I went to the place that sells cellphones. She didn't tell me what kind of phone to get. I liked Blackberries, and thought it was a good phone. Easier to type with than a flip phone. And I knew Morgan liked to type stuff all the time. It would make sense to give her something that was easier to type with, yeah? Yeah. That was thoughtful. So I got her a Blackberry. If Morgan didn't like it...well, she could go and buy one herself. I got the number, I got the plan, and I took it with me in my pocket.

Alright. I got you a Blackberry. I hope you like it.

There was no response. She probably wasn't looking at the device she texted me from in the first place. Fine, she would meet me at the cafe.

I walked outside for a while and realized...it was strangely quiet. I looked around. The cars were mostly gone. Then I heard...a buzzing? Like an insect? I turned around. More like...a whole swarm of insects...huge insects. Huge green monstrous robotic insects. And as soon as I saw them they started shooting yellow lasers out of where I guess the stinger would be. Oh, and here's the kicker. They were coming right at me.

I stood there like a deer in headlights. Those lasers were making clean holes in cars parked at the side of the road. Some of those lasers must have set the fuel in the car on fire so that they exploded. This was absolutely nuts. This was absolutely nuts. What the hell was all of this?!

I ran as fast as I could...even faster than that, actually. I wasn't exactly the best athlete, but survival instincts are a hell of a drug.

I headed towards the cafe. Maybe I could hide and they would pass...

Oh, and then there were more, giant crabs and fucking cube things I think, I didn't have much time to look back, running for my life and all. One of the lasers grazed my forearm, burning the sleeve and ever so slightly burning the skin. It hurt. It hurt a lot. I couldn't imagine what sort of pain a direct shot would do. Actually, yes I could. And that thought made me run faster.

This was a nightmare...this had to be a nightmare. These things were everywhere. No wonder people left, they were swarming the city. Was this some sort of alien invasion?! A nightmare? If it was it felt so real. And...I was getting tired. I was pushing my body past its limits. I was slowing down. This was it. I was gonna die...

And then I saw Morgan in the distance.

"RUN!" I yelled to her. I wasn't sure if she could see the monsters. As I continued to watch her, I could see that she was running, directly toward the monsters. What was she doing? Didn't she know it was incredibly dangerous? Couldn't she see the destruction they were leaving in their wake? She was running right to me. Was she...trying to protect me?

She ran up, past me, and jumped on the leg of the giant crab and then onto the back of its shell.

"You have the gun?!" Morgan cried from the back of the crab, and held her hands out. She wanted me to toss it to her?! I did have it. It was in my pocket. I took it out and threw it to her. She caught it and shot one of the crab's leg joints. A light blue ripple of light went through the crab and it fell, and the leg was severed. Morgan took something...I think the bullet? The gun was loaded and ready to go?! And did a blue ripple thing?! What?!

Then she pocketed the gun, and picked up the severed crab leg and swung it into the swarm of bugs. They smacked into walls and exploded. This was something out of some crazy action movie fever dream.

She took the leg and went from cube to cube, skewering them. They exploded too. She had some serious guts...and some serious skill. When the area was clear of those robots, Morgan came back over to me, breathing heavily.

"That was insane..." I murmured. Morgan merely smiled and nodded in response. She took the gun out of her pocket and handed it back to me.

"No matter how bad a shot you are, you can kill those things if you hit them at all. Any other robots, too." Morgan said, catching her breath. I had never heard her speak like that before. She was always so formal. It was probably because she was tired. She had never really been tired in gym class, but fighting these things was something else.

"Thanks..." I said. I put it back in my pocket.

"I'll get you a holster for it, soon. Keep it ready. There might be others." Morgan said. I took it back out and held it. No other robots were coming, though. "Follow me."

She led me to that old abandoned factory on the River Thames. What were we doing here. Then...she did something even stranger. She opened up the manhole into the sewers, and climbed down.

"Why are we going into the sewer?" I asked.

"We should be safe down here. I found a room where we can hole up for a while."

"Uh...ok." I followed her down into the sewer. And...we kept walking and walking. The sewer was a huge tunnel with a river and a sidewalk. There were no monsters down here, no anything...just the gentle flow of the river.

"You brought the phone, right?" Morgan asked, turning back to look at me.

"Yeah." I was still a little shaky from running...but I reached down into my pocket with the hand that wasn't holding a gun. I was holding a gun. A real gun that could shoot and kill. I never thought I would be holding a gun. Then again I never thought I'd be chasing down exploding robots. "It's a Blackberry, I hope that's ok."

"Excellent." Morgan smiled as I handed it to her. She opened up the phone, like so the motherboard was exposed and stuff, and then took something out of her pocket and stuck it into the phone and closed it. She turned it on and typed some stuff on the keyboard. I wondered what exactly she was doing. "Thank you, Emily."

"You're welcome." I replied. It felt good to get a genuine smile out of Morgan.

We walked a little while longer and then Morgan suddenly turned to the right into a room. She made a few keystrokes on the phone and a string of lights hung along the wall suddenly came to life. Morgan had a smile on her face, like she was proud of herself.

The room looked like it was just carved out from dirt with wires strewn everywhere. It was neat, so I wasn't going to trip on any of it. There were just a lot of them. There was also a big impressive looking computer, and a...big thing on the wall. Or, up against the wall. A cabin or something? I had no idea what it could be...

"This is more like it." Morgan said.

"What is all this..." I was awestruck.

"I'll explain in a moment. Here, stand next to me." I did so...She made some more complicated looking key strokes on the phone, then put it in her pocket. She stood still for a moment, and then began to talk.

"Hello, Belpois? Do you like my Blokade?" She smirked into the camera. Belpois? Jeremie Belpois? Blockade? She continued.

"Greetings, everyone. My name is Morgan Xanthos, and this is Emily LeDuc." A robot appeared on top of the computer, a small one, er, well small meaning up to the middle of my shin. I took out the gun, ready to shoot, but then it disappeared.

"We are broadcasting on all frequencies. We are responsible for the robots and other creature causing mayhem. And if they aren't in your area yet, don't worry, they're on the way. With this act I declare war on this world and all of its governments. I invite you all to try to stop me. There isn't anything we want. There is nothing you can do to appease us. You may be spared if you surrender...but you may not. I am more interested in destruction than subjugation. Oh, and Belpois, one last surprise. William, get them." Morgan snapped her fingers, and then turned to look at me.

"Now I can explain." Morgan looked pleased. That speech...seemed very rehearsed. Like she had been waiting to do this for a long time. But the things she said...they were so unreal.

"What...was that?" I asked.

"My victory speech." She said simply.

"You said...we. I...had no part of this. I am not a part of this. You're crazy...if you're serious, you're completely crazy!"

"We're friends, aren't we?" Morgan asked sweetly, but before I could respond, she continued, much more blunt. "Besides, I don't think you have much of a choice. We just broadcast to every TV, radio, phone, computer, every media device in the world. Everyone in the world saw you on screen with me, holding a gun. We are a team now whether you like it or not. If you leave, it would be interesting to see who kills you on sight first, me or the authorities?"

I inhaled to make a retort, but exhaled...she was right...she...did this on purpose. She...was this the real her? I had a gun in my hand...I could shoot her...but was that wise? I saw what she did to those robots...if she could destroy the robots so quickly and easily...how easily could Morgan get rid of me. Even with the gun...I didn't think I would stand a chance.

I was stuck.

"Right, well, now that you understand the situation you're in, allow me to explain how we got here."
