Chapter 5

2 Year skip (Naruto is 8)

It had been a few years since Naruto had unlocked his chakra. He had begun working on his Fuinjutsu, Ninjutsu and Taijutsu ever since.

Naruto had also grown out his hair a little bit. He now looked like a young Minato Namikaze. Still the same outfit from before though.

With help from Kakashi, (His new Sensei) he was able to learn his chakra natures: Fire, Wind, and Water.

For Naruto Wind and Fire were the easiest to grasp. Water was a bit Harder to learn, seeing as you needed a body of water to even perform a Jutsu.

As of now Naruto had learned two Jutsu from each category.

Fire style: Great Fireball Jutsu (C rank)

Fire style: Phoenix Flower Jutsu (C-A Rank, depends how accurate you are)

Water Style: Water severing Wave (B Rank)

Water style: Water Wall (C Rank)

Wind style: Gale Palm (C Rank)

Wind Style: Vacuum Bullet (B-S Rank, depends how accurate you are)

Naruto was also trying to use these Jutsu with proficiency.

In other news, Naruto was now at level 6 in sealing techniques. He could now seal objects and C rank jutsu. At this point Naruto was trying to understand Tailed Beast Sealing Jutsu.

It wasn't like Naruto was spending all of his time trying to make sense of it, but it was still something of interest to him. Kurama kind of resented him for it, but none the less it was still interesting.

Is a topic most seal masters avoid due to how complex it is. But Naruto was not them, neither was his father.

Flashback 10-months ago

Naruto was inside his living room working on level 4 of his Fuinjutsu training. Naruto was trying to seal 15 Kunai into one scroll and so far, he was unsuccessful.

He kept using the 'Crosshair' technique. This technique was one of the hardest forms of sealing, because of how much concentration was needed.

The basics of the technique sound easy, but are actually quite difficult.

First you would need to have at least a medium sized chakra pool, and a basic understanding of Fuinjutsu. Which for some is an issue.

The entire point of the technique was to make strong and large or small seals, quickly. For Naruto, it wasn't the requirements that made it hard it was just the simple fact that this was the only sealing form that was in his scroll.

Naruto was interrupted by a knock on his door. He got up and walked over there to open it. But before he did, he sensed who it was.

It was Dog. His 'Bodyguard' so to speak. Naruto opened the door only to be greeted by a man in a Jonin vest. The man closed his green book and spoke. "Hello Naruto." The man said.

The man infront of him was wearing a standard Konoha uniform. He had the standard Jonin vest on top of a long-sleeved shirt that was curled up.

He also had some standard pants with some standard shinobi sandals. He had all the making of a background character.

The only thing that was somewhat interesting with this man was the headband covering his left eye.

This guy was clearly not the guy to mess with.

"Dog?" Naruto asked in a confused manner. "Oh, sorry I guess now would be good time to tell you that my name is Kakashi not Dog."

Naruto looked at the man standing before him up and down multiple times. 'I know its him, it just feels so wrong to see him without his mask on.' Naruto thought.

'Well kid Get used to it' Kurama spoke out of nowhere. 'How in the-' Kurama cut him off. 'Don't worry about it, we can talk later.'

Naruto regained his focus. "So, do you just where a mask for fun, or is there something behind it?" Naruto asked.

"Yes" Kakashi answered. Naruto raised his eyebrow and just ignored the answer.

"What did you come here for?" Naruto asked. "I came here to check up on you and see if you needed help with anything." Kakashi summarized.

"Well, there is something that you could help me with" Naruto said. Naruto opened up his stacher and allowed Kakashi into his apartment.

"So, what is it?" He asked. "I know that you were one of the students of the Fourth Hokage, so do you know how to do this sealing technique?"

Naruto presented the form of sealing he was speaking of to Kakashi.

"Why would you assume that I know what this is?" Kakashi asked wanting some information.

"You trained under the Fourth Hokage, who was one of the most proficient Fuinjutsu masters ever. There is no way that he didn't teach you anything about Fuinjutsu."

"Hmm, alright show me what you think is the right way to do the technique." Naruto walked over to his scroll and Kunai.

Naruto sat down as he attempted to seal the kunai, only for a poof of white smoke to appear and fade to show that nothing happened.

Behind Naruto, Kakshi had lifted up his headband to show his Sharingan. He stared intently at Naruto, reading the way he was molding his chakra.

Once Naruto was done, Kakashi explained the problem. "You are using to little chakra, consider how much you are trying to seal, and then put that much chakra in."

Naruto nodded and tried again. this time using a little bit more chakra.

"POOF!" Was what was heard as Kakashi's advice was correct. All the Kunai were sealed inside the scroll with the Kanji in the middle of scroll meaning 'Sealed'.

Naruto turned around with a smile. "Thanks... Sensei" he said.

Kakashi returned his smile, even though it was hardly visible.

In Naruto's apartment

Naruto was getting dressed and ready for the academy, today was spar day. Naruto walked out of his apartment and Chakra Jumped on top of a flower shop.

He jumped from building to building until he reached the Uchiha compound. From there he lurked in the shadows until he was upon Sasuke's house.

Naruto knocked and Sasuke came outside, "Are you ready? We need to pick up Tenten." Naruto asked and Sasuke nodded.

They both Chakra Jumped on top of Sasuke's house. They began Jumping from building to building until they reached the 'Food Court'.

It wasn't an actual food court, but it basically was one. It had a wide range of everything, from restaurants and bars to food-based grocery stores.

The Akamichi clan resided only a half mile from the area, what a coincidence.

Naruto and Sasuke landed Infront of Tenten's apartment. Tenten's apartment was not a rich one, but it was very beautiful from the outside.

It was probably because of that little Kekkei-Genkai she has. It always seemed to make the ugliest of living things beautiful.

Naruto knocked and waited for a few minutes. He then knocked again, this time someone answered. Tenten came to the door and walked out fast. "Come on guys we will be late!" Tenten yelled as she ran on top of a building.

"We were waiting for you!" Sasuke yelled from behind as they both caught up quickly. "Sorry, I slept in because of a strange dream I had."

"So do you want to tell us about it?" Naruto asked. "No" she said bluntly.

It was then that Sasuke decided to speak up. "I mean we could skip class for ten minutes; Iruka-Sensei easily gets distracted" Tenten sighed.

"No, we have sparring today remember" she said. "Okay just relax" Naruto said with a smirk. She gave him a side eye.

'Do they like each other or something?' Sasuke thought.

In the academy

All the students were seated at their desk waiting for Iruka-Sensei's arrival. But there was a small group of people who could not do such a simple task.

"Sasuke, will you go out with me?" One girl asked. "Sasuke will you be my boyfriend?" another one asked. Sasuke was keeping to himself, just minding his own business like he always did.

'We are eight years old why would I date you or kiss you?' he thought.

But his little fan club would never leave him alone, they were always begging to go on a date or kiss him even.

"C'mon Sasuke come sit at my desk with me. These bums aren't worth your time" Before Sasuke could make a comeback to protect his friends Iruka came in.

"Alright class it's time to go outside" Iruka announced as he walked in. Everybody got up from their seats and walked into a single file line.

Iruka lead them out of the classroom and into the outside. From there they all sat on the bleachers and waited for Iruka to call their names.

"Sasuke and Shikamaru please come down." Sasuke got up with a grin on his face as he walked down to the field.

Shikamaru on the other hand, wasn't as pleased. 'What a drag' He thought.

As they both walked on to the field and got into their battle-ready stance, Iruka announced the rules to everybody. "-These fights are Taijutsu only. No clan techniques or handheld weapons, and certainly no elemental Ninjutsu."

When Sasuke and Shikamaru gave the signal that they were ready, Iruka began the fight, "Begin!".

Sasuke came in guns blazing, he threw a quick punch to Shikamaru's gut which was barely avoided. Shikamaru tried to kick but that was blocked.

'Man, why did I have to be put with Sasuke?' He thought.

Sasuke did a combo and swiped his left leg under Shikamaru's right leg. All the while his left was still in the air from the blocked kick that Shikamaru directed at him earlier.

Shikamaru fell down as quickly as Sasuke put his hand inches away from Shikamaru's neck. "Winner Sasuke Uchiha!" Iruka announced.

As usual, Sasuke's fan club went crazy went crazy.

Both of the contestants sat down at their original spot as another two students were called up for their match.

"Shikamaru why didn't you try? I know you are stronger than that." Choji asked. Shikamaru sighed as he slouched down on his seat.

"It would have been too much of a drag. Plus, his little fan club probably would have accused me of cheating." he concluded as he attempted to fall asleep.

Sitting ten feet away, Naruto was asking the same question as Choji. "You both saw that right?" Naruto asked. Tenten and Sasuke nodded.

"Yeah, it was like he wasn't even trying" Tenten stated. "Well, we all know he is stronger than that, he probably thought it was too much of a drag" Sasuke assumed.

"Would Ino and Tenten please step down!?" Iruka's voice interrupted our groups' conversation. Tenten walked down the bleachers and on to the field.

And once again, when they were ready Iruka started the match. "Begin!"

Unlike Sasuke, Tenten waited for her opponent to strike first. Which she did, quickly. Ino went into the academy style Taijutsu.

Ino proceeded to attack nonstop. This, however, was not an issue for Tenten. All that training with Naruto and Sasuke really helped her fight off relentless attacks.

'All I have to do is keep it up!' Ino thought.

All Tenten had to do was be patient and wait for the right moment to expose Ino's weakness. That moment came quickly.

Once Tenten saw her opening she took it and struck right in the gut of Ino. Ino fell to the ground, defeated.

She fell with a look of the look of sadness on her face. 'I wonder if Sasuke-kun will think I'm weak.' She thought.

"I suggest that you slow down with your attacks. It's seems like you don't have the stamina to constantly attack."

"Winner Tenten Hugarashi!" Tenten walked back to her seat.

Naruto looked like he was holding back laughter, while Sasuke was just straight laughing. "You guys shouldn't be laughing, she tried her hardest" Tenten whispered.

"No, it's not that it's just her face when you struck her in the gut" Naruto informed her. "Yeah, she looked like she was holding something in." Sasuke pointed out.

"Naruto and Kiba please step down" Naruto walked down still trying to muffle his laughter. He walked on to the field with Kiba.

Naruto didn't even attempt to go down into a stance.

"Begin!" Iruka yelled. Kiba stared at Naruto waiting for him to make a move, which he didn't. Naruto just stood there.

Over on the bleachers Sasuke and Tenten were watching heavily. 'I wonder if Naruto is testing him?' Tenten thought.

Sasuke was thinking the same thing. 'Is he baiting him into striking first?' he thought.

What they didn't know was that Naruto was doing neither, he was actually testing himself. Naruto was trying to sense Kiba's movements before he got anywhere close to him.

Over on the other side of the battlefield Kiba was becoming impulsive. He thought that Naruto wasn't going to try because he thought he as weak.

'That little punk, I'll show him!' Kiba thought as ran towards Naruto.

Right when Kiba was about connect a punch to Naruto's face, Naruto grabbed his wrist and kneed him in the gut. Kiba slid back and reorientated himself before going in again.

This time with a kick. He tried to kick Naruto's abdomen, which was unsuccessful. Naruto then proceeded to grab his ankle and throw it away.

Kiba fell and got back up. Kiba was starting to become tired, he was not expecting to have such a problem fighting Naruto. He had let his pride get to him. Naruto saw Kiba becoming fatigued, so he went on the attack.

He started with a kick to the abdomen which was taken with full force. Kiba shifted to the left from the force of Naruto's kick.

This gave Naruto a split second to ready an elbow strike to the gut, which was successful.

Kiba fell back and landed hard on the ground. Iruka walked over and gave an irked look. 'Damn, I know that hurts.' Iruka thought. "Winner Naruto Uzumaki!" Iruka announced.

6 Hours later: Sasuke

P.S sorry if it looks a bit discontinued, I was writing this while watching the Wildcard game. (Bengals vs Ravens)

"See you guys later!" Sasuke exclaimed. Sasuke was excited, his brother Itachi said that he was going to finally train him, as Sasuke had been begging for weeks now.

It was dark out and Sasuke was rushing home hoping that his brother hadn't went to sleep. Sasuke was jumping, running, and all of the above trying to get there as fast as he could.

Sasuke finally took a break once the Uchiha clan's compound was visible.

He took a second and then ran into the compound with a smile. Sasuke noticed that it was dead silent and not a single person was outside.

He slowed down and started walking. After walking for a few minutes, he was upon his uncle and Aunt's house.

Sasuke peeked through the window and saw the dead bodies of both of them.

He jumped back and fell to the ground. Sasuke was terrified, they both seemed to have been slit in the neck with precision.

He started running again, this time straight for his home. He needed to tell his father about what he saw. Within a few minutes, Sasuke was infront of his house. He walked to his father's meditation room.

He ran inside but abruptly stopped when at the sight of his parent's bodies overlapping each other with at least a gallon of blood spuing out.

Sasuke looked up and saw his older brother. "Itachi, we have to find a doctor. Or, or somebody to help them!" Sasuke exclaimed. Itachi Only shook his head.

"Foolish little brother." Itachi said with a menacing look. "What? Itachi we have to help them!" He yelled.

"Why would I help them when I killed them?" Itachi questioned. Sasuke had a look of Horror and confusion on his face. "What are you talking ab-".

"Tsukuyomi!" Itachi cut him off as he stared into Sasuke's eyes. Sasuke fell back instantly.

Naruto and Tenten

Naruto had invited Tenten to train with him since Sasuke was not available today.

Tenten was making attempt at using Wood style. She wasn't in full control, but she had made her own Jutsu.

She calls it: "Wood Style: Giant falling wall with protection and super extra force" Naruto personally thought the name was too long, so he told her to change it.

"But I like that name!" She said with heart.

"I get that, but when you are in the mist of battle, do you really want to stand there and yell the entire name out? Don't you think that Wood style: Wood wall would work better?"

Tenten sighed she could never win an argument with him. "Fine I will change-" Tenten and Naruto looked in the same direction.

"Did you feel that?" Naruto asked. "Yeah, it's the death of multiple people and its coming from the Uchiha compound." Tenten said and started running.

'Oh no how sad, the Uchiha clan is being murdered.' Kurama thought with a sarcastic voice. Naruto just ignored Kurama.

Naruto followed her. He was pretty impressed with that Kekkei-Genkai of hers. "You got all that? All I sensed was alot of people dying in a certain direction."

Tenten smiled. She loved being praised.

After jumping and running for a few minutes it was finally dark out. Yet they both were still a quarter of a mile away from the compound.

"Hey Naruto, do you remember when I said I had a dream last night?" Naruto Turned his head and nodded. "What I dreamt about was the death of the entire Uchiha clan." She summarized, avoiding the other horrific details.

Naruto stopped running and gave some thought to her reveal. "Do you know who did it?" Naruto asked. "Yeah, Sasuke's brother and a masked man."

Naruto started running and jumping again. 'No wonder she didn't want to tell us' Naruto thought.

A few minutes later they were there inside the Uchiha Compound on top of a building. Naruto waited for a few minutes and was surprised to see Itachi.

He was standing on top of an electrical poll looking like he was giving Sasuke a monologue. 'I wish I knew what was happening down there.'

Sasuke and Itachi

Sasuke had ran out of his now deceased father's meditation room. He was grabbing his head because of the Genjutsu that was placed on him.

The Jutsu had made a very strong effect on his mind. Sasuke was forced to relive the entire slaughter of the Uchiha. And he didn't watch it just once, no he watched it so many times it was a surprise that he hadn't died from PTSD.

Sasuke was running. He needed to find Itachi and stop him from killing someone else important to him. After a while he had found Itachi.

Really Itachi had found him, but he didn't know that. Once Sasuke had seen him, he didn't hesitate to make an attempt at a Jutsu.

"Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!" He yelled. Sasuke's flame wasn't nearly large enough to reach Itachi.

Itachi just stood there waiting for something to happen. Sasuke on the other hand was now crying. He hoped that this was just a dream.

"Why would you do this?" Sasuke yelled at him. Itachi just continued to stare into Sasuke's eyes. He only needed to say one more thing to trigger it.

"To test the limits of my abilities." After that Sasuke was in udder shock. 'He did all this just to test himself?' Sasuke thought.

"Does the village and your family mean nothing to you?" Sasuke questioned. "I already told you; you mean nothing to me. The village means nothing to me."

"So why don't you just kill me?" Itachi Chuckled evilly. "I truly pity you, Sasuke. You are not worth killing." Sasuke's eyes began to spin.

Within a second, Sasuke's eyes held a Sharigan of 2 Tomoe. Suddenly Sasuke again tried to use another jutsu. "Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!"

This time the flame was much bigger and was enough to make Itachi dodge.

Itachi dodge and Bodyflickerd behind Sasuke and knocked him out. 'Sorry little brother' Itachi thought.

Naruto & Tenten

Naruto was angry at the Itachi for his actions. Not enough to make him react and attack, but still angry.

Tenten however, was just about ready to use her new Jutsu to flatten him like a piece of paper. "I'm going in." She whispered with haste.

Naruto grabbed her ankle and forced her to trip. Tenten looked at Naruto with confusion. "Naruto let me go I have to help him!" She spoke.

Naruto shook his head and responded "No, I think it's best that we visit him tomorrow." Tenten looked tenative but gave in. "Fine." she said as Naruto jumped on top of building.

Naruto jumped and ran as fast as he could. After about 30 minutes Naruto was able to reach his home. Considering his age that was very fast.

He ran through the door and set Tenten down. "You know you didn't have to carry me, right? You would have gotten here alot faster without my weight." She said with a blush.

"Sorry, I was going off of instinct." Naruto also said with a blush.

Naruto was spitting image of his father in personality and physically. There was a reason they called him the Rizzler- I mean Yellow-flash.

"You could stay here if you want." Naruto stated. Tenten nodded, "Yeah, I will stay it's dark out." She said.

"Okay well uh, here you can sleep in my bed." Naruto said and walked to his bedroom. Tenten followed him.

(To any of you who are thinking somethings about to happen, you would be right if they were older)

Naruto escorted her through the door and let her be. "If you need anything let me know." Naruto said as he closed the door and left.

Naruto walked all the way to the couch as he flopped on top and was asleep within minutes. It goes to show the level of stress jumping and running can do to your body without constant training. (Which he does have)

Middle of the night Naruto's apartment

Naruto was having a dream; Not the one that Tenten had, but one entirely different. Naruto was dreaming of the Fourth Hokage and his mother holding his hands and walking to a park.

It was a nice day and what looked like Naruto's Birthday. He received waves from the villagers and fist bumps from his friends.

Naruto had the biggest of smiles on his face. Once they reached the park Naruto ran for a swing. His parents giggled at his excitement as they walked over and gave him a push.

Naruto felt the love of every push and wanted more. He kept getting more until it stopped and all he could see was black.

He suddenly woke up and was disappointed to see that it wasn't reality.

Naruto got up and walked over to his room and opened the door quietly. He walked in and opened his closet.

He reached his hand inside of said closet and grabbed a scroll. It was the same one he had been given that day three years ago.

Naruto rolled the scroll open and read it. He loved reading the letter that his mother had given him. It reminded him to stay true to his cause and become the Hokage that he is meant to be.

"Naruto what are you looking at?" Tenten questioned. 'I swear I was as quiet as an Anbu' he thought. "Nothing, just reading a Jutsu scroll."

Tenten knew that he was lying she could feel it. "Naruto there is no need to lie to me I will always be here for you." She said with reassurance.

Naruto knew he was caught, but the question was, should he tell her? "It's a note that my mother left me before she died. I like to come back and read it just feel the words she wrote."

Tenten smiled as she got up and walked over to him. She turned him around and gave him a tight hug.

(Forgot to mention, Naruto is 4'10 and Tenten is 4'6)

Naruto felt the hug and was stunned by the warmness. Naruto swore he was under a Genjutsu. 'Has Tenten always been this pretty?' He questioned himself.

She let go and smiled. "I think you needed that." she said as she walked back over to the bed.

"Yeah... Thank you" Naruto said with a light smile.

Next day, Hiruzen's office

Hiruzen Sarutobi was one of the most powerful shinobi to ever grace the earth. So much so that people called him the God of Shinobi. He had accomplished many things some would consider to be impossible.

He himself as a Shinobi and leader of one of, if not the most powerful hidden village on earth, had to make hard choices. Some being more difficult than others.

One of these choices were to find another successor to his mantle, or to keep it until his death.

To which he chose the first option. The person he chose was Minato Namikaze, the apprentice of his own student Jiraiya of the Sannin.

To most he was not a bad choice. Minato had been one of the driving factors in Konoha's victory in the Third Great Shinobi World War.

But even with this amazing decision, Hiruzen was not perfect.

There was an abundance of wrong decisions he had made. And the decision he had made a week before may not have been the right one.

You see, a week before today, Hiruzen had made the questionable choice of killing the entire Uchiha clan. (Not that he was the one who would be doing the killing)

The Uchiha were planning a coup, one that would bring the destruction of the Hidden Leaf and the possibility of another world war.

With the limited time he had, Hiruzen made the most rational decision of his career. He would kill the entire Uchiha clan, leaving one its own members to do it.

Hiruzen was not proud of the decision, infact he despised it.

He despised it so much that he was thinking of retiring again. But this time he would stay retired. He had a clan that was a mess, and a family he needed to heal.

But the question that was begging an answer was; who was to take his hat from him?

There were not alot of options, so it wouldn't take him long to find an answer. And such answer was already in his head.

"Crow!"

"Yes, Hokage-sama?"

"Get me Jiraiya."

Naruto and Tenten

It was morning, and a cloudy one at that. To Naruto, it was a message from Kami that meant something bad was going to or had already happened.

Naruto got up from the couch and walked to his bathroom. He opened the door, walked in and turned on the lights. He looked in the mirror and saw himself.

He saw his long bangs that reached all the way to his chin. He saw the whisker marks on his cheeks (Pause). Naruto also saw the ocean blue eyes he had most definitely inherited from his father.

With all these thoughts of himself were running through his head, you could consider it selfish. But to Naruto it was just reevaluating himself.

It was something he did alot, and in return made him a better person. 'I feel like I am missing something.' he thought.

Naruto was correct, he was missing something. Something he had forgot about over time.

"POOF!" Naruto turned into a cloud of smoke and disappeared.

He fell from the sky, this time being able to land on his feet. "I remember this place..." He thought out loud.

"Welcome back... Naruto"

I know, I know screw me, I left you with another cliff hanger. Two I might add, but still, it's probably annoying coming from me.

I'm sure you have plenty of questions that must be answered but leave it to the reviews. I won't be writing on Saturday, Sunday or Monday because of the Divisional (NFL). But I will be reading those Email notifications I get when you review. And no, Jiraiya will not be the Hokage none of the Sannin will. Or at least I don't think so. We will see.
