I wanted to try and write a gamer fanfic of my own, one with a slight twist on everything. Now before we begin, I must say One piece doesn't belong to me. Now sit back and try to enjoy the ride. I'll show stats at the end of each chapter.
Introduction.
That my friends, is how you die a virgin. Honestly I'm fine with it, dying isn't all bad. After your heart stops beating, all the pain fades away. My brain was still working at maximum capacity, allowing me to rethink all the mistakes I made in my life.
The only problem is, I kinda hate the way I died. It was completely dumb. I was in the middle of a heated game of Overwatch 2, going crazy with roadhog. I know what you're thinking, that guy is quite literally broken, but I use him anyway. I'm the scum of the earth, all right now that I've acknowledged that, can I move on with the story?
Like I was saying, I was in the middle of the game going crazy with roadhog. A nice 30 kills, and 4 deaths. It was one of my better games. Unfortunately God had decided that my warranty on life was up, since out of nowhere right after being hacked by a dumb ass Sombra, a fucking plane crashed into the house killing me and likely 30 of my neighbors.
What kind of bullshit pilot license did that idiot obtain, to crash into a neighborhood of all things? Granted it could've been some sort of malfunction with the plane but even then it was still someone's fault. All I knew is that it wasn't mine.
Oh well, I was dying anyway. No reason to be mad at the idiot (possibly idiots) that caused it.

'Huh?!' I thought to myself. 'What kind of bullshit is this?'
It's a system you fucking dumbass, I'm asking if you'd like to continue from a previous checkpoint!
'Wow, really getting all mad over a few words. What do you mean the last checkpoint?' I asked the thing mentally.
I can give you a chance to redo the day. Despite how hilarious your death was, it was in no way your fault. Do you wish to restart the day, or would you rather start a new game?
'Honestly, Life is kind of boring at the moment. What kind of game would I be starting?'
Hmm, scanning memories… I can give you the option of going to another world. I see you like One Piece, you even wrote an entire story on how much you loved that world. Too bad you personally will never finish it. Some other version of you will do that.
'Huh other version? Wait no, scratch that. Let me see the end of my story, let me become Jay.' I pleaded.
Sorry, no can do.
'Garbage ass system.' I thought in what amounts to a whisper.
What?! It's not my fault alright! Whenever something is written it becomes marked in reality. That story of yours exists somewhere already, I can't allow another version of it to be created! It's a waste of my powers!
'Fine, if that's the case just get me started in one piece. I'm getting gaming abilities right, I'm kinda big on those and it could be hella fun. You know, living life like a game.'
Finally, something we can work with.
'Alright, I managed to guide this conversation perfectly. Now I should be able to help out that world and get rid of the evil system.' This was the inner thought of the system. A species of people who granted power to individuals to fight off their evil counterparts across the multiverse.

After a mental thought of wanting to see them, a black screen with white letters popped up.

I looked at the screen confused, deciding to ignore the comment on me being a nobody. 'Wait, what about Gamer's mind?'
[That's not a skill I can give you. One of the other systems has rights to that. You will be allowed one SS rank skill. Would you like to draw?]
In front of my face a deck of cards appeared.
'It's randomized? I'll take one.' After mentally choosing my card a notification appeared.
'New skill has been obtained.'
Endure(When health reaches zero, the user becomes incapable of dying for one minute.)

'What the hell is a Jokull?'
They were said to be able to control ice. They're most prominent feature is the harmless icy aura that envelops their body in battle. That's all the information I can tell you.
'Damn, is there any way I can pick two? I can imagine the power a hybrid between that and a lunarian would have.'
I could do that but it could have adverse effects on your appearance. You may look drastically different from normal, as well as lose some abilities associated with the race.
Though disappointed by the fact that I couldn't be an off brand todoroki I had decided. 'Alright, then I'll just be a Jokull, it isn't worth looking weird. Though honestly the drawback of later being hunted down would be annoying, I guess I'll have to stop swimming so I'm not too suspicious.'
[Okay, one final thing, please pick a Lobby.
Single lobby, all knowledge will be accurate however exp will be halved.

I carefully considered the two before taking the second option. 'I'll take the multi lobby.'
Good option, I'll watch over you through the system. Welcome to your new life.
'Enough with the dramatics, just send me in.'
A moment later, I appeared in a dark room that was lit up by one chair. The floor was nonexistent, it just looked like the night sky. Sitting in the chair was what I could only assume was a deity.
"Kozuka?" I said in surprise.
The figure flinched. "How can you mix me up with that bitch?" Judging by the voice I had assumed it was a guy.
"Damn, I was hoping to tease her for real instead of through writing. So I'm guessing she really does exist somewhere?" I asked him.
"Yea, she watches over that one fucked up ass word. At least I have a limit on how many people I let in, that bitch just allows anyone. Anyways, as long as your system is good, I can let you in. My name is Kozu by the way." The apparent god beckoned me forward.
I decided to just be obedient, this god was leagues more respectful than the one I expected. He quickly inspected the system before creating a door next to him. "Please head on in, also if you meet a guy with an evil system. I would appreciate a corpse. Just one mistake and now everyone compares me to that bitch, can god's not make mistakes?! He complained.
I walked through the door and immediately passed out.
The first thing realized upon waking up was unbearable heat.
I had woken up on a random island next to the vast ocean. I lived in Vegas so I'm not gonna lie I was a bit tempted to take a swim. Unfortunately I was immediately stopped by one annoying system.
I'd advise you to not waste your time in the water, with your lack of strength I doubt you have enough power to swim.
'Yea yea.' I thought. "Stats!"

"Huh?! Four levels just like that? I'm gonna assume the first five levels are easy. It may be pokemon where 5 is the lowest the gamers start with." I decided to first check the starter kit and worry about the stats later. With a mental thought of my inventory a screen popped up, after pressing on the item it immediately appeared where I wanted it to.

Upon opening it, I immediately gained a new skill.

'So a skill where I can have my own pocket dungeons, how the hell does that even work?'
[It's all in the ring on your left hand, you usually open doors with your right. If you open one with your left it'll create one of the two dungeons of choice. However, in doing so, that door will be associated with the dungeon until you retrieve it.]
'Doesn't that mean that others can accidentally enter my dungeons?' I asked inwardly.
[Yea, though it holds no benefits for them. Now can we get moving, you just sitting here is really boring to watch.]
After telling the annoying ass system to shut up, I checked my stats once more and noticed all my stats had gone up by one. Based on the description of the system, that happens every five levels. Though I don't know whether it's exclusive to me or not. I decided to distribute my stat points evenly, but my charisma and intelligence couldn't be increased.
"Alright, now all my stats are comfortably sitting at 6. At least I can now be passed off as normal." I said aloud as I walked off towards the village I could see in the distance.
I entered the town and everything was pretty lively, there were guards posted outside that were noticeably not marines. Probably guarding from pirate and beast attacks. Inside the town everyone seemed to be happy and though it was a small town everyone had their own responsibilities. Which made it quite clear I didn't belong.
Suddenly a man appeared on my shoulder. He seemed young and the excitement almost jumping off of him kind of proved it. "Hey, what are you doing here? Who are you? What's the outside world like? Oh! And how did you get here when no boat has gotten close to the harbor since the bandits showed up?" He asked rapidly.
"Wait bandits? I just woke up here, I didn't see any bandits!" I told him.
An elderly woman walked up, a guarded look on her face. "Those bandits showed up a year ago with their leader Lucerio. I don't know how you somehow just woke up here, but I advise you to stay out of the forest. Ever since they moved in there, we have been heavily relying on fish for food. We can't even go there for fruit."
"What about the marines?" I asked. "Aren't they tasked with taking care of things like this?"
"Have you been living under a rock?" The young boy asked. "The marines don't care about bandits, all they care about is pirates. They're all too busy doing that to come all the way out here. Besides all the marines around here are rotten, the bandits ask us all to pay them a tax. Then they use that money to keep the marines off their back. The only reason the bandits haven't taken over the village is because the guards posted outside." The boy looked down, all of his excitement gone. "They even took my sister hostage, there's nothing we can do. Are you strong, can you help me?"

"You can't ask that of a stranger!" The women scolded.
"No it's fine, I'll do it. It could be useful as training, don't worry I'm sure I'll be fine." I told them.
The boy jumped into my arms. "Thank you so much, one day I'll be strong enough to protect the city on my own!" He vowed.
I walked back outside the village but was stopped by the guards.
"Hey kid, I heard you're going to fight Lucerio." The man smiled.
'Yea and how the fuck did you know that?' I thought. 'Hopefully this is the only island where people act like Npc's. Maybe it's a tutorial island of sorts.'
[About time you picked that up, this island was completely created by the game. Don't get into the habit of treating people like game characters, outside of dungeons and field bosses they're all real people.]
'Thanks for the info, but you could've told me earlier.' I said irritably.
[It's fun seeing your slow human brain work around something.]
"Look kid, just be careful." The other man said, drawing my attention back to them. "Make sure you're quick on your feet, Lucerio is strong but he's slow. Don't get too startled by his size."
"Has anyone ever tried fighting him? Anyone from the village?" I asked.
"Yes." The guard answered. "But everyone in the town already gave up trying to be him, there's no one strong here outside of us two and we need to be here in case pirates attack."
I nodded. "No worries, I'll be careful." I promised as I left the village and headed towards the forest.
[Due to the gamers influence, dungeons have opened up across the world.
Dungeon detected: Bandit's Forest

"Well then, let's go!"
[Entering bandit's forest, defeat 20 bandits to draw out the boss.

Bandit's forest
The forest was quite strange. Despite the large trees blocking out the sun, the forest remained well illuminated.
All around was the same trees stretching for what could only be miles. The forest provided a nice cool, a cool that was not shared by the hot village and beach. There was also a tense feeling in the air, along with a sense of dread.
All around me the sound of footsteps could be heard. I immediately jumped into the middle of the clearing, glancing around rapidly as shadows jumped across the forest floor.
"Damn it, they're using those shadows to their advantage." I cursed. "If they stay in there, it will be hard to draw them out and defeat them."
[Maybe try seeing what you're dealing with first, your life is a game, you're able to observe the stats of others as well.]
"In case you haven't noticed, this is my first time actually being in a video game, I never played any virtual reality shit. Forgive me for forgetting that I could do that." I looked around the forest seeing as shadows blurred by. "Observe."
[The skill, Observe has been activated. Due to their being multiple enemies, you will see the stats of the average bandit.]

An average bandit, equipped with a sword. It hates all who intrude on their territory, it'll attack attempting to decapitate the target so it can gain honor.
Although it's defense is low, it's speed is twice that of an average human.]
'You're really tryna separate these guys from humans as much as possible. Thank you, I guess. If you didn't do at least this much I might just be hesitant to kill them.'
'You're welcome.'
The system said smugly.
'Oh and please call me Asobu.'
(I needed to do this so I didn't have to bold everything the system said, now I only need to bold the game related parts. Moving on.)
I continued to walk deeper in the forest, the shadows jumping around me but apparently not attacking.
[Wave 1 will begin in 30 seconds…]
'That makes sense, it's a game after all.' I waited the 30 seconds required and as it ended, 2 bandits walked out the forest. The shadows around me continued to jump around.
The two bandits came rushing in waving their swords in the sky. I ducked underneath one of the blades and kicked the other in the chest as my foot was coated in ice. "Frost drive." The icy aura falling off my body as I smirked.
'Critical hit, 40 damage dealt.'
I smiled. "So crits do exist in this game, guess that means I have to make sure to strike weak points when I can."
The bandits' chest lightly froze as a notification popped up.
[Frost drive: Cooldown 10 seconds…]
"And apparently so does cooldown." Deciding to put it aside for later, I began wailing on the Bandits frozen chest before finishing him with a large kick that broke his chest into pieces causing his body to fade away.
'7x combo, 60 damage dealt.'
[Bandit has been defeated, gained 6 exp]
The other Bandit who was watching in horror began shouting. "You bastard!"
Luckily for me my Frost drive was up and the defeat was quick.

'You have reached Level 6.'
[Wave 1 Complete, prepare for Wave 2. Begins in thirty seconds.]
"I don't know how I feel about waiting for the time to be up. Though I guess this could help me learn some patience." I said aloud.
'Trust me, one day you'll love these thirty seconds.' Asobu told me.
I laughed. "Yea and one day I suppose I'd love the sound of your voice."
"Maybe." She mused.
(Kind of just realized something, I'm looking at a screen or supposed to be. Like all the previous talks were with me looking at a screen but we're gonna assume that they weren't. From now on just imagine I can hear her voice if it isn't a game prompt. Damn the plot holes are crazy. Alright no more interruptions.)
[Wave 2 is approaching…]
From the shadows of the forest 4 bandits appeared. They had rushed with the same plan as before leading to a similar result with the first who rushed in.
[Bandit has been defeated, gained 6 exp.]
"These fucking Npcs." I said aloud.
The other three moved to attack me as a trio. As one of them swung, I dodged to the side and kicked one of the others though without the ice encasing my feat.
'12 damage dealt.'
The first had reappeared behind me going for an overhead swing. I sidestepped and tripped the bandit before stomping it into the ground ending with a frost drive.
'4x critical hit, 100 damage dealt.'
[Bandit has been defeated, gained 6 exp.]
I grinned. "This two times damage on kicks is great, I might have to turn into Sanji if this keeps up."
"Shut up you monster!" One of the others yelled. I ducked under the blade aimed to decapitate me before grabbing the bandit by the throat and squeezing as hard as I could.
'6 damage has been dealt.'

I was only able to keep my hand on its throat for three seconds before being slashed in the back by the other bandit. Luckily for me tho,

As ice coated my foot, I spun around and kicked him before finishing him off just as quickly.

I turned back to the only remaining bandit who was still tryna catch his breath. All I had to do was kick him and it was game over.

"Hm, a water skill? Guess that means I can get other elemental skills though the chances are probably low, or maybe I'm a cryomancer. That includes both ice and water." I however didn't have any more time to think because a message in bold red letters popped up on my screen.

Now that I was level nine I had acquired a total of 16 stat points. More than enough to be of use. I quickly put 4 into strength, 4 into Agi, 4 into luck, and 4 into Vit.
My health went from 60 to 100 and notifications appeared on the screen in front of me.

I waved the screens away and looked at the quest I was given.

I smirked. "Cleaning up? That's a nice way to explain it, after all they were all nothing but garbage. Kind of had to clean them up, you know?"
"You really need to work on that trash talking." Asobu deadpanned.
"Should you really be talking right now? What if he hears you?" I whispered.
"Maybe I should've explained the system a bit further while you were laying underneath the wreckage of the plane crash." Asobu sighed. "You're the only one that can hear me dumbass."
"Oh." I laughed. "Anything else I should know?"
"Hm, there's one thing. You can't gain strength through training, none of the gamers can. You'll have to distribute stats to level up anything outside of intelligence and charisma."
"Good, I won't have to waste my time doing push-ups." While our conversation was going on, Lucerio was looking on in confusion.
"Hey little ant, who are you talking to?" He tilted his head to the side looking like a giant dog.
"It's nothing. Anyways it's about time you die. I still need to find the boy's sister." I rushed forward ready to start the assault.
Lucerio grinned. "Yahahaha! You pathetic little human, you could never beat a proud giant like myself!"
"You fully disregarding that human side of yours makes it so much easier to kill you. You're just another mob for me to kill." I dashed to the side circling around him, trying to out speed the slow giant and attack from his blind spot.
As he turned to try and catch me with a punch I spun around and delivered a frost drive to his foot lowering his health from 500 to 470.
[Frost drive: Cooldown 10 seconds…]
I sighed. "This may take awhile, I guess my only option is to make sure I'm not hit." My body began to give off a cold energy as I got serious.
I ducked under a slow blow before aiming a fist at his foot, however thanks to his high vitality he simply shrugged it off.
"Come on now, little ant, that attack did nothing. Is that all you've got?" He mocked. "I've taken more damage falling on my ass!"
'5 damage has been dealt'
"Hm is that the case, you're not one to talk, you know, for such a big man you ain't got all that much strength. No wonder you live in this dreary forest instead of Elbaf, your weak ass was probably kicked out. The shame of your country."
The words seemed to hit a nerve because a moment later, a look of anger took over his features.
[Due to excessive taunting, the shill berserk has been activated. Lucerio will now deal 50% more damage. Lucerio will now take 50% more damage.]
"Okay, so he just threw the rules of the game out the window." I noted. "I guess that means there's some realism to this tutorial after all."
"Well what did you expect, I know I said to work on the trash talk but openly targeting someone's weaknesses is cowardly." Asobu scolded me.
"Yea, and how the fuck was I supposed to know that was a sore spot?!" I shook my head and refocused on the fight. Using Lucerio's fall into despair as a chance to run up close and course ice into a quick kick. "Frost drive!"
'Critical hit, 60 damage dealt. Remaining health: 405/500'
"You insignificant little ants!!!" Lucerio roared.
Suddenly my body went stiff from fear, though it was something embedded in my bones. I still saw him as a boss in a game, he didn't scare me as much as someone like Mihawk would.
"I'll get rid of you with my strongest attack!" The surrounding air slowly compressed around him as the pressure built up higher and higher.
I tried to move but was stuck in place. Asobu began to get frantic and berated me. "Hey Jay, I think you should move. You can't die on me, do you know how hard it is to find a good user?! He's about to self-destruct you dumbass!"
A crooked smile formed on my face. "Oh he's about to self-destruct, that's wild. I couldn't tell, I was too busy being stuck to the fucking ground! Maybe if you gave me gamer's mind, this shit wouldn't have happened!" I raged. "I would've likely been unaffected by the bloodlust!"
Due to my rage I had suddenly realized I was moving. Within the last second of the compression I jumped behind a nearby tree.
A moment later, the giant bandit exploded. My apparent safe spot turned to something that wasn't quite as bad but still sucked. The tree was torn from the ground and blown back, me going along with it as I flew across the forest. While in the air, I saw a giant lake in the middle of a forest with a huge cabin right behind it.
'Lucerio has taken 100 damage in his self destruction.'
When I landed I finally was able to see the damage on my screen.
'5 damage taken.'
'45 damage taken.'
"Yea fuck this, I'm at half. I'm running." I took off towards the lake I saw in the distance.
Lucerio laughed in a demented fashion. "I'll crush you into the dirt like a fucking bug!"
The giant man had begun trampling after me as I fled. Luckily I had quite a bit more speed on him as I was capable of dodging around his giant fist and feet. However in my moment of joy upon seeing the lake I saw the giant's huge foot directly above my head.
"Damn it, all I did was blink and now it's game over." However a moment later my body phased out of existence and ended up a foot in front of me just barely dodging the foot that scraped at my back.
[Blink: Cooldown 10 seconds…]
'The fuck?!' I thought mentally. Though I didn't have time to figure anything out as the mere scrape of the giant's foot had sent me flying towards the lake.
'25 damage taken."
I began skidding across the water but didn't fall beneath the surface. Though I did take an additional 10 damage. I was now left with only 15 health to spare. One more hit and it was game over.
Lucerio dashed at me once more, aiming to finish the job with a right cross. Though in his berserk state he didn't notice the lake that he ran into. By the time he reached me the only thing that I could see was his head as his swings became even slower fighting against the force of the water. I used the chance to jump on top of Lucerios head and stomp on him ending the barrage with a frost drive. I noticed that my damage had increased with each hit, it was kind of weird.
'10x critical hit! 250 damage dealt. Remaining health: 55/500'
"I'll take you with me in death!" Lucerio roared, causing a small tsunami that I had to dance around to make sure I wasn't submerged. Lucerio began compressing air again preparing to self-destruct. I ran off towards the giant wood cabin, nearly making it inside through a small door as the man blew up, dying.
The wind waves had reduced my health to zero.
[Endure has been activated, you'll be incapable of dying for one minute. Cooldown 1 hour…]

I drew a card obtaining a skill that I knew I'd be using a lot.

As I marveled at the skill I was tapped on the shoulder. "Thanks for the help." When I turned around I was met by a kiss on the cheek by a girl around my age who later ran out of the house.

"Alright! First dungeon cleared. Let's see what this ability can do. Dungeon Retrieval!"

I considered the options for a bit before deciding on the peaceful version. I'd be able to find a dungeon later on. Afterwards I then went on to merge a few skills that seemed to go together.
First it was water walking and frost drive to make Cryo walking and then I combined two skills I got from their respective stats reaching 10.

I was a bit sad about losing an ability that feels like Broly but the payoff was amazing with leach. Without even visiting the village, I set off to start my journey. Walking in a random direction hoping to find Luffy, after all. There were six other gamers and if they weren't idiots they would never join Luffy. All of us know everything about him, it would put whoever joins him at a serious disadvantage. I however, love playing games on hard mode.

1. SS rank ability(Endure: Upon my health reaching 0, I become incapable of dying for 1 minute. Cooldown 1 hour.)
2. Gamers body(Your body is like that of a game, you won't die unless your hp hits 0 and you'll be able to fight at full strength otherwise. Sleep restores health fully.)
3. Observe(Can check the stats of my opponents and items.)
4. Dungeon retrieval(Can recreate any dungeon you have defeated, 0 exp gain, 0 items dropped. Use this to improve your individual skill. One peaceful dungeon and one combat dungeon at a time.)
5. Blink Lv. 1(Every 10 seconds you can blink anywhere within 1 foot around you)
6. Cryo Walking(Combined the skills Frost drive and water walking. You can now walk on both ice and water as if it was the ground. When attacking with a kick a stack of frost is placed on the enemy. At 10 the enemy is frozen as long as they don't have ice resistance or heat based abilities.)
7. Merge(You can now merge skills to make a more powerful skill.)

Johnystring: I hope it ain't disappointing that I'm rewriting the entire thing. Though I don't think three chapters can be seen as "entire."
Real Obito: You're right, it's better I rewrite now then a year from now when I'm unsatisfied. The idea behind Kura joining this story was joined by Aria and Jason from story of a wraith. I didn't want to do that and I decided that my guy here don't need a direct romantic interest. He'll probably get one but for now he's alright.
Final thoughts
After this I will only be showing new skills and stats, no reason to take up word count with this random shit.
I'll try to keep this story to a two week basis. I post usually on Sundays, just got this out because I've been slacking on this little rewrite. All chapters will be at least 5k words.
Sorry it took so long to rewrite, I was procrastinating the hell out of it.
