Chapter 2: A New Future
His birthday had turned into a mess. A mess he was happy about, for once. If not for the said mess, he would have lost the loves of his life. An outside observer would see a relationship of a lucky man who managed to seduce two beautiful women. In truth, though, it was so much more.
To the wizarding world, it would look as if he married two women to further his family lines. The reality of it, however, was that Fleur and Dora loved one another. He was lucky enough to know that they both loved him just as much as each other and just as much as he loved them. In essence, they were a triad.
Growing up as he did made him feel he was undeserving of love. Reality often seemed to confirm this notion. His entire fourth year of schooling had been hellish. Fleur had been his only companion in those times, at least until after the first task when everyone conveniently pretended they hadn't abandoned him. He forgave people's pettiness, of course, but he didn't forget. And he never could forget Fleur. It was her actions which became the catalyst of their love.
At the start of the summer before his fifth year, he found out that Fleur had started dating Tonks - a woman he vaguely remembered from Hogwarts, and she had graduated when he finished his third year. That piece of news saddened him greatly.
Then suddenly, Fleur and Tonks had started visiting him at Privet Drive, very much against Dumbledore's orders (and wasn't that an unpleasant surprise). He didn't quite know it at the time, but he loved Fleur and couldn't help but fall in love with Tonks. They brought joy into his dreary life and always managed to make him feel as if he mattered.
He would never have said anything, but Fleur brought it up one night. As a Veela, she had sensed the feelings he harbored for both young witches and recognized that the growing affection between the three of them was slowly turning into love.
Tonks did what, in hindsight, he should have expected from her; she kissed him. The metamorph was a force of nature. She didn't hold back, be it in life or love. People had tried turning her into an object of lust in the past, yet she stayed true to herself.
After that, every waking moment spent together was one of mutual reciprocation. The trio worried about going forward. Until Sirius had let it slip drunkenly to Remus and Tonks how he had made Harry heir of the Black estate (what remained of it), that knowledge made them realize they could be together, and nothing would stop it.
It was illegal to have two wives unless you were the head of two pureblood families, which Harry would conveniently be. He had freaked out at that tidbit. After all, he was too young for marriage. Fleur, though, knew it wasn't a passing fancy for any of them, she could sense that it was more than lust they all felt, and their feelings would forge an inseparable bond.
And she was proven right. Even almost a year later, Harry himself couldn't think of spending his life without them. So, to hear that he had lost them both because of manipulations had royally pissed him off. They had all been raped and treated like objects, and Harry was beyond angry! He wanted those who raped them punished.
He would gladly kill William Weasley if he so much as touched his Fleur, and knowing Tonks, she would do so as well. Fleur was theirs, just as they were hers.
He didn't know how to feel about Remus. Did Remus marry Tonks to protect Teddy? Or was he in on it? He wasn't sure, but he would be watching him closely.
Ginny would pay! He saved her life, and in repayment, she utterly ruined his. She had dosed and raped him! After everything he had done for her and hers! Mrs. Weasley would answer for facilitating it.
He wouldn't act yet; he would let them try and commit their crime of line theft. It was a death sentence. Long ago, the Sorting Hat said he would do well Slytherin; the time as a hardheaded boldness was at an end; the time for cunning was now.
"You alright, Love?" he glanced at Tonks and bit out.
"No, no, I am not! I'm bloody livid; I want to kill Bill, Ginny, and Mrs. Weasley." Her face turned to anger, probably remembering the fates they would have suffered at the hands of the weasels. Slowly the anger bled out and was replaced by determination.
"If they touch either of you, I'll kill them and ask my mum for help disposing of the bodies." at her proclamation Fleur let out a cute snort,
"Please, your mum would eviscerate them if she found out what happened."
"She is going to find out? Right?" Teddy piped in.
"Kind of hard for her not to, especially with you around, son," Harry said, ruffling his son's hair, causing the boy to scowl.
"Gerroff!" grumbled Teddy. He was now the same age as his dad and wasn't keen on being treated like a child. Tonks cackled merrily until a sudden realization struck her, and her face turned ashen.
"Dora?" Fleur probed, looking at her lover worriedly.
"My mum," Tonks whispered.
"What about your mum, love?" Harry asked, wrapping a stiff Tonks in his arms.
"We're getting married, and we didn't ask mum or invite her." Tonks barely got out; fear was coursing through her. She felt like death embraced her at the thought of almost getting married without her mum. Fleur, Harry, and Teddy all paled. Harry and Fleur had met their future mother-in-law, and while generally amiable, she could be scarily stern about certain things. As for Teddy, sure, his grandma had raised him, and he did love the woman dearly, but he also knew that her similarities with her insane sister Bellatrix were far from superficial.
"Okay, new plan! Fleur, you take loverboy to Gringott's and deal with everything. I'm taking the tyke and collecting mum and dad." Tonks blurted out, duly ignoring Teddy's indignant shout at being called a tyke.
"Before you go, dad, give the goblins this and tell them code 273." Teddy tossed his father the crystal Ragnock had given him, and Harry snatched it. "Don't forget to tell them about the Horcrux in the Lestrange vault or the soul piece in your scar."
Nodding and his son's instructions, he grabbed the Veela's hand.
"Let's go," Fleur apparated them away with a soft pop.
Tonks grabbed Teddy and did the same, their destination - a place that was home for them both.
The metamorph grew progressively paler as they approached the front porch, and each step increased her nervousness. By the time they had reached the door, her hair was stark white, with cold sweat budding on her forehead.
She hadn't even knocked before the object of her fear opened the door and gave her a soft smile. For a second, her anxiety lessened until her mother took in her appearance. The older woman looked at her contemplatively.
"Nymphadora, it is wonderful to see you. Who's this?" Andromeda Tonks asked, looking at her future grandson.
"Edward Sirius Potter." Her son said while hugging his grandmother.
Bollocks! Now her mum was giving her a questioning look, which shifted to incredulity once her son's hair flickered to bright blue from its previous black, so much reminiscent of his father.
Her mother smiled. She had seen the same smile whenever she did something wrong.
"Is there something you wish to tell me, Nymphadora, dear?"
"Maybe, once we're inside," mumbled Tonks.
Her mum raised an elegant eyebrow but turned around and walked towards the living room, or parlor as she always called it.
Double bollocks, her dad was sitting there!
"Who's this?" asked Ted Tonks while looking at her son, the same way her mum had.
"Edward Sirius Potter, Grandad, but call me Teddy! It's nice to meet you; I always wanted to!" Teddy blurted out excitedly.
What the devil was wrong with this boy? She thought they ought to ease her parents into the whole-time travel rubbish. While busy glaring at her child, Tonks missed her parents' respective looks of utter confusion and stern disapproval.
"Black family ritual..." Andromeda exhaled a deep breath.
"How did you know?! Gringott's told me the ritual had been forgotten." Teddy asked in shock.
Andromeda gave her grandson a somewhat patronizing smile,
"Oh, please, most of my family barely read anything, unlike me. To them, it might have been forgotten; to me, it was summer reading."
Andromeda then turned and gave that same smile to her fidgeting daughter,
"Is there something you wish to say, dear?"
"I'm getting married tonight." Dora blurted out. Teddy facepalmed.
"To Harry Potter, I presume. Isn't he only sixteen?" asked Ted. He knew his daughter was reckless, but he didn't think she was this irresponsible. He was under the impression she was dating that Delacour girl.
Nymphadora mumbled something.
"Speak clearly!" snapped Andromeda sternly.
"Fine! I love him, alright! We've been dating for over a year!"
"What about Miss Delacour? I thought you were dating her or was it perhaps a cover?" asked Andromeda through thin lips.
"Please tell me you haven't had any sexual contact with Mr. Potter, or do we need to get your defense ready."
"Oh, sweet Merlin, mum, stop! The three of us are together, Fleur, Harry, and I. And we did wait until tonight when he officially turned sixteen. Even though he's been legally an adult since that blasted Tournament. Besides, I'm only 5 years older than him!" she pleaded desperately.
"Please don't remind me, mum; it's bad enough I was summoned to the day of my conception." drolled Teddy.
"Dora, are you pregnant?!" Ted stood up in shock; his baby girl was getting married and might be pregnant.
"NO, I'M NOT!" Tonks screeched, but then she started thinking about it. If the ritual brought her son to the day of his conception, what did that mean? She paled.
"Oh, Merlin, am I?"
Teddy sniggered at that,
"No, mum, my coming back negated it."
"Yourself, yes, your father's other swimmers, not so much," Andromeda shook her head.
Three faces collectively went green.
"It's a distinct possibility; you'll have to wait seventy-two hours for the charm to find out." Andromeda bit out, feeling quite annoyed with her daughter's chronic irresponsibility.
"But how! I'm on the potion!" cried out Tonks.
Teddy scratched his head in contemplation,
"Grandma told me you told her the potion you had was from a bad batch or something. She said you raged about it for months when you found out."
Dora dropped onto the sofa with her head in her hands. The last twenty-four hours had been odd. One minute she could finally be with the people she loved intimately, and the next, she had a time-traveling son.
She was grateful for Teddy but wasn't sure she could be a mother at twenty-one, especially to a teenager! The thought that she might have another child in nine months was haunting, and she was not ready! One of her beaus was still in school; they had only discussed children in the far future, and none of them were prepared yet.
While deep in thought, her son was describing why he had returned in time to his grandparents. It took an alarming amount of self-control for Andromeda to not go and kill or maim some weasels and follow up with werewolf hunting. Ted Tonks was a relaxed bloke but, in this case, agreed with his wife, only he would use a gun instead of his wife's arsenal of grizzly curses.
While this family drama was unfolding, less than a hundred miles away, everything was already changing as Harry James Potter was finally becoming who he was always meant to be.
Harry could say with utmost certainty that he hated wizarding travel. Did they just make sure to make every form of travel uncomfortable on purpose?
"Ugh, who made wizarding travel? They had to be insane," he grumbled.
Fleur let out a snort. It always managed to amuse her that her boyfriend only liked to travel by broomstick.
"Come on, Mon Amour," she said, her accent thickening her words. He shivered at her sultry voice; her accent always had that effect on him. She never needed her Allure with him, not that it worked.
They made their way to Gringotts, him nervously and her with supreme confidence. Her confidence always made him question why she would ever deign to love someone like him. For most of his life, he was told he was a useless freak. Yet she still saw something in him that he had trouble seeing himself and for that, he would forever be grateful.
The two goblin guards at the entrance to the bank nodded at Fleur as they opened the door. She returned the nods respectfully.
Walking up to the only teller, it seemed most were off duty due to the late hours.
"Good evening, teller. My fiancé and I would like to speak to Lord Ragnok," Fleur said with the most respect she could muster.
The goblin looked to be on the verge of telling them to leave at their ludicrous request before he noticed that one of them was employed by their bank.
"And tell me why I should disturb the head of our nation for paltry human concerns." Fleur nudged Harry. Harry for a second forgot why until he remembered Teddy's words.
"Umm, code 2-7-3."
At that, every goblin in the room stiffened. Most of the goblins were guards and the lone teller helping them.
In the goblin language, the teller barked out orders to an armored goblin, who took off in a sprint. The goblin then motioned at them to follow him. Following him for 10 minutes down small passageways, they stopped at a large door that led into a large cavern that was adorned with gems of all sizes and shapes. It was, in Harry's opinion, one of the most beautiful rooms he had ever seen.
They entered the amazing room and were seated at the opposite side of a large desk. A few minutes later, a middle-aged goblin entered the room, taking a seat across from them. He held out his hand, causing Harry to stare at him blankly.
"The crystal human!"
"Oh!" He handed the crystal his son had given him.
The goblin seemed to examine it for a moment until he dripped his blood on it and then his eyes rolled into the back of his head.
Panicked, Harry reached to remove the crystal, only for one of the guard goblins to shout,
"DON'T TOUCH IT!"
Harry pulled back and waited in silence.
Five minutes later the goblin's eyes looked normal again, but he groaned loudly.
"I hate those things! Flinthilt call for a shaman and two healers!" One of the guards sprinted out of the room.
"Are you ok sir?" Harry asked, hoping that the crystal didn't hurt him.
"Not for me wizard, for you, and the name's Ragnock." This caused a loud gasp from his fiancé.
Ragnock ignored her as he placed a hand on a metal box and chanted as it glowed. When it stopped, he pulled out two beautiful wooden boxes. Opening the boxes, he tossed Harry two rings and gestured for him to put them on, Harry did so without question the goblin was scary.
Nothing happened, giving the goblin a questioning look Ragnock rolled his eyes,
"Congratulations magic accepts you as Head of House Potter and Black."
"Oh, ok I guess."
"A wordsmith, isn't he?" Ragnock said the sarcasm obvious in his voice. Fleur let out a melodic giggle.
Before Harry could retort the doors opened allowing 3 goblins to enter. Two of them looked middle-aged and the third looked like the equivalent of Albus Dumbledore. Ragnock stood up leading the 5 of them into a room that was attached to the large cavern. The room was simple, there were chalk outlines of words or runes that he had never seen before, not that he knew much about Runes outside of what Hermione prattled on about.
"Disrobe Mr. Potter and lay in the middle of the circle," Ragnock said gesturing to the middle of the room.
"Mr. Rag-"
"We don't have all day just do what you're told!" Ragnock growled.
"Do what he says Mon Amour." Fleur pleaded.
Letting out a loud sigh he took off his clothes the whole time blushing up a storm, even though he knew that the goblins didn't care about his modesty since he was only human. He hadn't remembered much outside of history since he tuned it out, only that goblins didn't like humans. Whatever was in that crystal must have made it worth the goblin's time and effort.
As he lay down, he felt pain centered around his forehead where his scar resided. The pain caused him to black out, his last thought one of immense annoyance, this isn't where he expected the night to go.
The rest of the room watched as the parasite that inhabited his scar for the last almost 15 years was ripped from his scar. It died a painful death as it was ripped into the ward scheme, its magic being used to power the room for the next century.
Fleur explained to Goblins about the Horcrux in the Lestrange vault only for Ragnock to silence her saying that the crystal already told them, and it would be dealt with.
The goblins then started healing and removing the binding on the unconscious Harry.
Fleur cracked a grin when Harry's hair turned bright blue. Apparently, her love was more than he seemed just like their fiancé.
She chuckled to herself when she realized that he was now going to complain about another thing special about himself. Oh, the teasing material alone was what kept her giggling as the goblins looked at her like she was insane.
It was to the giggling that Harry woke up both perplexed and in pain at the loudness of it. He shrugged as he let his lover have her fun.
AN: I know it's been a while I got major writers block on this story. I had most of it written months ago, I just had trouble with the last scene (hence why its crap). I pushed through just so I could be done with this chapter, now hopefully the next chapter wont take almost a year.
Special Thanks to Orthodox1057 for helping me with editing and being patient with me.
Until next time.
