Last summer, Neville's grandmother, Mrs. Birtch, and Jane did most of the cooking, because they were the three best cooks. That left Neville, and Professor Lupin to do most of the cleaning, which they were all fine with, with help from Sirius and Tracey. At the beginning of this summer, Neville's grandmother, Jane, and Kreacher were the three best cooks, so they did most of the cooking, but now that Kreacher was gone it was just Jane and Neville's grandmother. Neville and Hermione did most of the cleaning, with occasional help from Sirius. Sirius did the fewest amount of chores, but this was his house so nobody could complain about that.

Earlier this summer, back when he was here, Kreacher helped out some with everything and did a little more work than any of the humans, but he could do stuff more easily and more quickly. It was really nice that he was more willing to help out now, and a lot more pleasant. Kreacher even made a large contribution to the Horcrux hunt when he left to try to get information. He hadn't been back for days, and he had not told anybody where he was going, so they were getting worried.

Neville approached Jane. "Jane, could I talk to you in private?" he asked.

Jane nodded, and they went into her bedroom and shut the door.

"So, it will probably be a long time before we actually do it, if we ever get to, but in case one of us die trying to get a Horcrux, I wanted to pop the question now."

Jane looked confused.

Neville got down on one knee. He pulled the heirloom engagement ring, which he had recently gotten from his grandmother, out of his pocket, He looked up at Jane. "Will you marry me?"

Jane froze, for seconds, before speaking. "Are-are you sure? Asperger's is genetic?"

"So?"

"I love you."

"I love you too."

"Yes, I'll marry you." She looked at the ring and held out her hand, and Neville put the ring on her finger.

"May I kiss you?"

Neville nodded.

Neville and Hermione were in the kitchen, doing the dishes.

"Hey, Hermione, do you see any reason why a woman couldn't be the best man at a wedding?"

"No."

"Want to be best man, at my wedding?"

"Yes, but if I ever get married, I'll probably make you maid of honor."

"Fine with me." He paused. "So, why if? Do you think you'll never find someone, or are you just not sure you want to get married?"

"I'm not sure if I want to get married. I don't have a problem with people who do, but I don't need a man, and we don't all meet our soul mate when we're nine."

Just then, Kreacher appeared. "I know where Helga Hufflepuff's cup is."
