I Rise from the real world to return to the great paradise of fiction and literature! Oh how I've missed thee! How much time has passed since I last posted an update? No matter! I have returned with Passion! I would say work was the reason for my long absence... but that would only be half the truth. With the new Pokemon, Destiny the game, New Testament Vol 11, and MANY holidays to celebrate, I didn't really attempt to come back here. But Now I'm Back! Expect updates on All stories after this one along with a new poll on my page. I have much more to say but I'll save it for my page. This is a unique chapter as in the middle we will change perspective from Kazeyare Kouta to a new character! So without further ado, Chapter Nine of the Rising Sun!
HOLLOW EVE
"I give up!" I gazed up at the amber colored sky as the sun began to set. With no sign or hint to the location of Gunha or Ayumi, I declared defeat to Autumn wind.
I hope those two don't get into too much trouble... Am I asking for too much? Surely Gunha can go for one night without causing me a headache? If I really think about it, I have no obligation or responsibility for what those two do. I was only tasked to ensure Gunha was under 24 hour surveillance so if Ayumi is with him, I don't have to do anything... right...
Ah heck! Who am I fooling!?
I mentally psyched myself up and restarted my search for Gunha. It would be pointless to search aimlessly around Academy City for them. If I was just searching for Gunha, I know he would head straight for District 8 which houses most of the teachers who are happy to hand out candy to children.(Even if they are in high school.) But Ayumi is more calculative. She would head to District 13 which is guaranteed to have candy due to the residence.
Deciding to go to District 8 first, I hopped on a crowded bus filled with Middle and elementary school kids dressed in Halloween attire. Even some of the adults supervising the younger children were dressed up.
Though I am quite used to people avoiding me due to my naturally thug looking face, I felt it was more so than usual as even in this crowded bus, a circle of space was created between me and the other passengers. I guess even with my blonde hair dyed black, my face is still unappealing as usual. Perhaps the red contacts were a bit too much? Normally it doesn't bother me but seeing the kids attempting to hide behind the other adults made my heart sink down to my stomach. Am I going to have to deal with this awkwardness the entire trip?
"Huh? Is that you Kazeyare? I almost didn't recognize you in that costume!" A familiar voice broke out in the crowd as a figure began to shuffle between them and broke into the open space. "I thought you said you weren't participating in Halloween."
Still wearing the ridiculous Suited Helmet costume, Aogami appeared. Though I was certainly happy he called out to me the break the silence, I felt his presence would bring forth some other disaster. "Aogami? What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be at the school right now helping with the cosplay cafe?"
"Fukiyose turned down every single one of my suggested outfits! She even turned Tsuchimikado against me! So naturally, I'm rebelling against our tyrannical Leader!"
I let out a heavy sigh, " You know, As class representative, you're suppose to be at every class event. Komoe-Sensei is going to punish you for ditching."
As if proud of his actions, he threw me a thumbs up. " I know!"
You perverted, Lolicon, Masochist bastard! How the hell are you the class leader!?
"I'm also here on a mission."
"A mission?" It's something perverted. Stupid or perverted.
"Have you heard the rumors, Kazeyare?"
"Rumors? About what?"
He leaned his head closer until his visor was pressed against my face. It was extremely uncomfortable in many ways. "About the mysterious Skirt flipping girl?"
Okay. I take it back. This is stupid AND perverted.
I pushed him away and rubbed my temples to calm myself. "It's a rumor you idiot! This is Academy City! There are cameras and security robots everywhere! You don't think someone wouldn't notice a random girl flashing people? Obviously people be disturbed about it and they would immediately apprehend the person!"
A light snicker escaped his helmet. "Kazeyare. She doesn't flip her own skirt, she flips other girls skirts! Just think of how many panties she has seen! Able to get close to her targets without arousing suspicion and finally with a swift wave of the hand, the skirt goes up revealing a glimpse of heaven! Just think of the possibilities! Bike shorts, polka-dot, stripes, side tie panties, erotic, or event the legendary T-back! or even the Swimsuit under uniform!"
"Excuse me." Without any notice, an Anti-Skill officer approached Aogami from behind and grabbed his shoulder. He let out a heavy sigh as if he was disappointed he was forced to do his job. "I was hoping I would be able to enjoy this night without any incident and was actively trying to ignore the disturbing conversation you were having but now it seems I have no choice but to take you in for questioning. Even with that ridiculous helmet on I know it's you, Aogami-san."
Anti-Skill! How did we not notice this guy on the bus? And wait, he was listening the whole time? Does that mean everybody on this bus was listening to us?
"Officer." Aogami spoke up. "I have done nothing wrong so you have no reason to detain me."
The Anti-Skill officer let out another sigh, "I wish that were the case but there have been numerous complaints about your topic of conversation so it's my unfortunate duty to listen to the gripes and complaints of civilians. If it were any other kid, I'd let you off with a warning but you have a history with Anti-Skill and Judgement so I can't turn a blind eye to this like I normally would."
Just what kind of trouble do you get into Aogami? And why is this guy even an Anti-Skill officer if he's so unmotivated to do his job? Well Aogami brought this upon himself by talking so proudly about skirt flipping. "U-um," My thoughts halted as his dead-fish gaze fell upon me.
"Oi, kid with the angry glare. If you know this person or have something to say, I'll have to take you in for questioning too."
"Sorry officer, I thought this guy was someone I knew but it was a case of mistaken identity. I honestly have no idea who that is." Sorry Aogami, I don't want to spend my Halloween night with Anti-Skill.
The bus finally stopped at District 8 and I quickly got off as I waved goodbye to Aogami as the bus drove off. You reap what you sow, you perverted blue-haired Lolicon bastard.
I glanced around my new surroundings as groups of kids began to scatter in every direction to begin the candy harvest. The nearest building was a small elementary school building decorated with Halloween ornaments such as Jack-o-lanterns, large cobwebs, and even the classical ghost sheets. Across the street was a well-lit school playground where some of the kids were congregating, most likely comparing candy and trading things they don't want. It was a refreshing scene, reminding me that Academy City is just like any other place in the world(Minus the whole super-powered kids thing). It also reminded me of when I was a kid during Halloween.
A tug on my cape pulled me out of my nostalgia rush. I glanced down to see a small boy donning a green troll mask and ragged clothing. "Trick-Or-Treat!"
"Sorry kid, I don't have any candy."
"But you're wearing a costume."
"I'm a Trick-Or-Treater, just like you!" And in High School. And by myself. Man I need to re-evaluate my life choices.
If the mask wasn't there, I would be sure the boy had a confused look, " Aren't you a little too old to be Trick-Or-Treating?"
He's right but it stills pisses me off! "Aren't you a little too young to be picking a fight?"
The boy turned away in disappointment, "Tch! I'd thought you'd be nice like that other Onii-san."
Onii-san? It couldn't be...
"Hey kid! This Onii-san you're talking about, does he have a scythe and have a scary looking were-wolf person with him?"
"Ah? Yeah. What about him?"
Yes! I internally celebrated an early victory. I picked the right district AND I ran into someone who saw them! Lucky me!
"Which way did you see that guy go?"
"Why should I tell you?" He crossed his arms as the sound of arrogance escaped his mouth.
Cause I won't punch your face in if you do! I thought to myself as I clenched my fist in irritation. "Because if you tell me where he is, I'll give you half of his candy."
"Really?!" His voice reached an all time high as he heard the news.
I'm lying to this kid's face with a smile. Sorry Komoe-Sensei but this is for the greater good! "Yup! A man never goes back on his word!"
He hastily pointed across the street. "He went toward Jupiter Elementary but there's a shortcut through the alleyway over there!" I ran toward the pointed direction without any hesitation. "And don't forget about the candy Onii-san!" Sorry kid, I don't even know your name or what you look like! There's no way I can keep that promise!
As I cut though the dim alleyway I felt something. Now living in Academy City has made me quite immune to concepts such as fate or luck but you can never shake away that feeling in your gut. That sick nervous feeling you have telling you something bad has happened or about to happen. A cold sweat ran down my face as I forced my mind away from that feeling and attempted to focus on finding Gunha. But life handed me lemons.
"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!" A shrill scream echoed down the narrow corridors of the city. That shrill scream seemed strangely familiar to be but pressed the thought away as I stopped dead in my tracks to listen for the direction of the scream but only silence followed. I glanced around to see I came to an open area within the urban jungle that spit into 3 distinct paths. 2 of those paths led to the more urbanized areas such as the schools while the other path led to a cut-off construction zone.
The familiar hellish scream once again cut into my ears, clearly coming from the construction zone. I stepped forward and immediately halted.
Wait, what the hell am I doing?
Obviously I'm going to run in there and save whoever is in trouble! I comically replied to myself.
Great idea! Too bad I left my mask and metal bat at home. I'm always unprepared for vigilante work! Guess I'll call Anti-Skill and leave it to them!
And tell them what exactly? That on Halloween night I heard a deafening scream of a woman coming from a construction zone in District 8? Yup, that'll go real well.
Exactly! I don't even know if someone's in trouble or not! I could be blowing this whole situation way out of proportion! Or Someone could actually be in danger and in need of saving! But not me as the savior!
Why not?
Reason #1 why Kazeyare Kouta shouldn't go inside the creepy construction zone at night based on the assumption that someone is in trouble: It's CRAZY!
...You're holding a full conversation with yourself inside your head... I'd say your already there.
I let out a light chuckle as a smile began to form on my face. No longer frozen with fear or doubt, I ran inside the construction zone. "Yeah, I guess I'm right."
With only the ambient light from the moon and far off streets, I made my way quietly into the zone. The overall layout was normal. The support pillars for the building were already in place and it seemed large enough to be a two story elementary school. Though It was so bare bone you could hardly tell what structure they were actually building, only a good assumption based on location. The soft ground made a light crunch noise with each step I took, adding unneeded pressure to my nerves as I moved from pillar to pillar. I glanced around as I advanced through the yard but I didn't see a sign of a single person.
"Who're you?" I swiftly swung my body toward the voice and saw a teen sitting on a stack of steel beams. I couldn't really see him well due to the low light but I noticed he was wearing a school uniform of some sort and had rectangular frame glasses. He silently observed me as I tried to understand the situation.
Calm down Kouta! It's too early to be jumping to conclusions. I relaxed my body as I took a deep breath. "I heard a woman's scream coming from this area so I came to investigate. What about you? What are you doing here?" Whether his intentions were good or bad, I mentally prepared myself for the worst case scenario.
The boy slowly stood up placed his hands in his pockets. "You came to investigate a scream?" He paced around me for a few seconds, carefully observing my every move. My eyes began to adjust to the dim lighting, revealing more of this strange character.
Black messy hair. That was the first thing that grasped my attention. Like seaweed. In fact, nothing about the guy seemed appealing. His uniform(Nagatenjouki from what I could tell) was wrinkled and had some food stains that were still visible in the low light. A complete mess.
"Are you an idiot?" His voice was filled with contempt and exhaustion. "What kind of idiot goes around investigating screams on Halloween night?" He pulled out a device out of his pocket and an audible click echoed followed by a familiar scream. "It's just an audio file. They were selling this one specifically all around Academy City. You couldn't have gone anywhere in this City without hearing this at least once in the past month."
"Ah..." An audible realization as to why the scream sounded so familiar escaped my mouth. I'm a complete idiot...I got caught up in the moment and jumped straight to the worst possible conclusion!
"A question for you though, since you're here..." His low voice caught my attention. "Do you happen to know where I might find the #7 Level 5? I heard he frequents this area during Halloween."
I calmed myself before responding, my thoughts racing for a quick answer. So... He was planning to lure Gunha here? Are the Kihara's involved? No... Ayumi's with him so I doubt anything too dangerous could happen to those two. This guy... He gives off a strange pressure. I'm not particularly afraid, more like uncomfortable. "The #7? I'm sorry but I don't know anybody like that." For now, I need to get away from this guy as fast as possible. "The only one that I've seen is that one from Tokiwadai, Misaka Mikoto wasn't it?"
After a long silence he finally responded. "...I'll ask you again." A blunt pain shot through my abdomen and knocked me back onto a pillar. "An idiot like you is trying to fool me? How laughable." With that one blow strength had all but escaped from my body.
W-what the hell hit me?
"Kazeyare Kouta." my name escaped through his lips. "Childhood friend of the #7 Level 5 known as Sogiita Gunha." He began to walk closer to me
How does he know that?
"Currently living in Nagatenjouki dorms with Sogiita Gunha and Kihara Ayumi. A Level 3 esper with a unique ability called Error In." with no warning he pressed the sole of his shoe against my face, slowly applying pressure. "I know all about you. A piece of trash who hasn't made any progress with his useless ability. How you joined those band of weaklings called Skill-Out. Using numbers to pretend they're strong. You're nothing! Why someone as strong as the #7 is your friend is a mystery, as is why the Kihara family has taken an interest in you!"
"The hell is wrong with you?" I angrily cried out as I struggled under his foot.
"I'll ask you once more... Where is Sogiita Gunha?"
That bitch! She fucking lied to me! Perfect plan? Only an idiot can fuck it up? Yet this sorry excuse of an esper shows up and ruins everything! I clicked my tongue in annoyance at the entire situation. The boy under my foot struggled to release himself from my power but it was a pointless effort. A Level two such as him cannot escape my Level four Psycho-Hand.
"The hell is wrong with you?"
Nothing is wrong with me. It's people like you, polluting this world with weakness. Preventing people like me from being recognized for their achievements! Get it through your thick head! There's nothing wrong with me!
"I'll ask you once more... Where is Sogiita Gunha?"
A light chuckle escaped his mouth. "Even if I told you where he is, what do you plan on accomplishing?" His confidence only grated on my nerves and patience.
I tightened my grip on his body as he attempted to cry out in pain. "Don't talk as if your strong. And it's none of your concern what I plan once I meet him."
Despite his pain and the strength of my power, he still continued to struggle. "...None of my concern? Don't give me that shit you fucking loser!"
Crack!
The sound of bones breaking permeated in the construction yard as I kicked his head. "So useless..." I muttered under my breath. Glancing down at his limp body, I realized I knocked him unconscious. I released my power and leaned down toward his body.
I should have done this once I realized it was Kazeyare Kouta. If he has his phone on him, I can contact Gunha himself and he'll come to me. And then... They'll see...
Smiling to myself, I patted down the kid's body and found his phone. Stepping out of the shadows of the partially constructed building, I skimmed down his contacts to find one listed as 'Guts'.
I assume this is Sogiita Gunha. Though there was a small detour, I should have expected myself to reach success. With this, I'll finally be labeled A true Level Five! Those idiotic scientists and their system scan! Failing to realize my true potential!
"Hey idiot." I swiftly turned around in surprise to see a fist heading directly to my face. The force of his punch launched me off my feet and flat on my back. Pain surged through my entire body as rocks dug deep into my skin. Parts of my face felt numb and a metallic flavor mixed in my saliva. Throughout all this, my thoughts scrambled to asses the situation.
That loser... He's conscious? How? I applied enough force in Psycho-Hand to break ribs! And that kick should have been enough to knock him out for the next day!
Holding my face in pain, I slowly stood up to see a truly pathetic sight.
His mouth was dyed red and one of his eyes was practically swollen shut. His body swayed like a twig in the night breeze, holding his side with one hand as if to keep himself upright. And yet, despite the damage his body had taken, he stood there, opposing me with an ear-splitting grin on his face.
"I don't know who you are... or even what you want..." His breath was erratic. It wouldn't take much force to knock him out. "But! I do know one thing... I'm Gunha's friend! So if you are planning something against him..." He took in a deep breath, as if preparing to blow me away with his words. "Be damn sure that fucking concerns me!"
...How laughable... "That's it!? That's your big spiel? You? A pathetic Level two is trying to protect one of the seven level five's of Academy City? Those seven who can take on a whole battalion by themselves!" It was truly hilarious.
"AhahahaahaaaaahaaaaaahaaAhhhhahaahaahaaha!" Completely oblivious to my recent wounds, I broke out in a fit of laughter. I mean, who wouldn't laugh at this horrible joke? "Is the number 7 so weak that he needs to be protected by a worthless human like you?"
"No. He can easily beat you with a single punch." His blunt reply put an abrupt stop to my laughter. What replaced it wasn't anger, but confusion.
"Then why are you trying so hard?"
"Yeah... I get your point... If I have so much confidence in Gunha, why am I standing here in your way in the first place. It's illogical. The most logical route was to just call Gunha, let him kick your ass to next week and spend the rest of my night without having any injuries. But I couldn't do that. It's not something so admirable as I don't my friend to get hurt or getting him involved in my fight. I also could care less about revenge." He paused as if to think why he was standing there in the first place. His clenched right fist trembled as he brought it up to head level. "People like you just piss me off, so I punched you to ventilate my anger."
That's it?
"You talks as if you're better than everyone. Like your the head honcho of some big yakuza group. I don't care what your position is, what birthright you think you might have, your past achievements, or even if your God himself in the flesh. It pisses me off when someone talks as if they're better than everyone else! Get off your high horse! Level 2? Level 5? Why should I even care what someone ranks me as? Why should you care? If you're so confident in your power, then lets go! I'll beat you down with theses useless fist of mine!" His voice reverberated with anger. His pure emotion swept away any kind of sense he may have had and he stood there, with only that emotion backing him up.
And it irritated me to no end. "That's exactly why you're useless! Depending on such a fragile mentality. What can you achieve with those fist of yours? Can you close the gap with emotion and flailing your fists and everything that pisses you off? This isn't some shounen manga! Reality demands results! Look!" I pulled out a small clear casing with white tablets. " This is something I earned with my power! Someone from the Kihara family noticed my untapped potential and gave me these miraculous pills. With this, I can finally escape the label of Level 4 and reach Level 5! Those Scientist were wrong! Stuck at Level 4? A weak Personal Reality? How laughable! With this! With this, I'll be at the top! Even the supposedly invincible #1 will recognize me!" It was time. I needed to show that weakling the gap between us. The world between us. Even if that woman said only to take on, it wouldn't be enough. I broke the plastic cap and the pills dropped into my mouth.
What followed next was a truly amazing feeling. The Body Crystal had an almost immediate effect. Normally, I would only be able to form 4 hands with my power, but i felt it. 5, 6, 7, 10, 20!
Hundreds, thousands! All with the force to easily crush a top-of-the-line power suit. Becoming the #1 esper was no longer a fleeting dream.
"Ahahaahhaaa! Top of Academy City? Even that is too small!" I began to form multiple hands, the scaffolding of the building began to crumble as I pushed away everything within range of my power. "Soon the whole world will recognize me! Moroi Tataeru! So Kazeyare Kouta, Do you still think you can beat me?" I glanced toward him to see he had already closed the distance between us again and his fist once again collided with my face. On my back facing the night sky, I only laughed. "Your fist? They don't hurt. It doesn't hurt! Your only attack is no longer effective!"
What I didn't notice was my broken glasses.
What I didn't notice was the large amount of blood flowing from my face.
What I didn't notice was the large amount of blood from every orifice of my body.
What I didn't notice was the boy was already unconscious.
I didn't care! I need this strength! To ensure the world knows that Moroi Tataeru is amazing!
"Oi, what are you doing here?" A new voice entered my ears. One that I didn't recognize. But I knew who that voice belonged to. It belonged to my first victim of my new-found power! Without looking, I directed multiple of my psychic hands to the direction of the voice. A bone-crushing echo followed shortly.
That's what was suppose to happen. Instead, I felt my hands being overpowered and some even dissipated.
I'm too strong for my own good. Destroying my own hands is signs I'm too powerful. I glanced over to see the lucky person. What I saw caused an even greater smile to appear on my face. Standing above that loser of an esper was my target. Clad in a black, ragged robe with a hood covering his face and a plastic scythe in his left hand, Sogiita Gunha stood there gazing absentmindedly at his useless friend.
"This is great! Amazing even! My target comes to me! Did your sixth sense kick in and tell you to come here? Is my power so amazing even the Level 5's fear it?"
"... Are you Moroi Tataeru?" He spoke so quietly I almost didn't hear him.
"So you do know me? That Kihara woman dismissed you as a loud obnoxious idiot, but for you to know me, you must have done your research no?" A loud crack caught my attention and saw what looked like an electronic device breaking as his hand formed a fist. "Ah so the call did go through. How laughable! That idiot next your feet tried to stop me but he failed even before he threw his first punch! A wasted effort!"
The number 7 stood there quietly. His gaze finally lifted up from the boy to me, "So... What are you waiting for?"
"Hmm?"
"Aren't you here to defeat me?" His tone was off-putting. I couldn't quite place it but there was an unfathomable emotion in his voice. What was it?
Ignoring his confidence, I prepared to launch another attack. "Eager for death are we?" With that, hundreds of my invisible, psychic hands launched toward him at high speeds. The ground beneath him gave way to my power as dust kicked up blocking my view o his destruction. I was slightly disappointed that my 'fight' with a level 5 ended so quickly.
"Are you done?" From the rubble the sound of gravel moving under shoes pierced my ears, sending a cold chill up my spine. From five meters away, I sensed it. A feeling beyond fear glued my body to it's current position. Sogiita Gunha took another step. "Moroi Tataeru." His voice pierced my very being. At that point I knew.
"Just die!" More and more of my psychic hand attempted to crush him, push him, stop him, but to no avail and soon the space between us became three meters.
"Kouta had enough guts to fight you with his own power. With his own strength." With every step, with every word, I felt power escaping my body.
What the hell is he? Victory quickly left my mind and what replaced it was escape. Escape from this monster before me. If I don't escape... I'll go back!
Moroi Tataeru, Level 4 is the most we can expect from you. The scientists words haunted me like ghosts.
Even though your psychokinetic abilites are impressive, it's held back by the fact it manifests itself in hands, worse that you can only create two at a time. Though unique, it's rather lackluster compared to psychokinetic or even telekinetic who have more range and freedom than your ability. It's their fault I can't progress!
You want to prove those scientist wrong right? Here, I'll give you this. That Kihara woman! With this drug, you might be able to achieve Level 5! I'd even go so far as to help you achieve that. Was it wrong for me to try to escape the label of Level 4?
If you defeat the Number 7 Level 5, wouldn't that give the scientist some thoughts about re-evaluating your worth? That's all I wanted.
"And you... depending on drugs some random person gave you? I can't believe how gutless you are." He took another step, slowly destroying the distance between us.
"And what would you know! Level 5! Level 5! Level 5! That's all you hear about in Academy City! If you aren't a level 5, then your useless! Even if you succeed academically, your compared to the Kihara family with their amazing breakthroughs! It's impossible to receive any kind of recognition within this city! It's pointless to try so hard when no one ever sees your effort!"
"Don't depend on others to tell you how good you are! Why should you even care what they think! With enough guts, you'll know that your effort isn't pointless! It's to the future of a new day!"
Two meters.
One meter.
The space between us was no less than a half a meter. "Are you ready?" He asked as if I had a say. "I'm about to give you some serious guts!" In a ridiculous motion, he arced his back as far as humanly possible and then recoiled it back toward me. "Amazing Headbutt!"
BETWEEN THE LINES
I awoke to a dark room. The plain room gave off a calm welcoming warmth. The hospital was the first thing that came to mind.
So I lost Sogiita Gunha huh?
No. Even before that. I lost to that boy... Kazeyare Kouta. A vortex of emotions came over me as the name passed though my head. I didn't know exactly what to feel about losing to him. Anger. Yes, I was angry that I lost to him yet that wasn't the most prominent feeling. I was too calm to even consider revenge. I wasn't sad. Disappointed... and relieved... For some reason even I don't know. Still in pain due those recent events, I closed my eyes to return to sleep.
"Finally awake I see." That voice brought sheer rage as widened my eyes. But my body refused to get up. My body wasn't restrained, nor did pain prevent me form moving, I just couldn't move. Even my mouth didn't respond when I commanded it. "Don't bother trying to move. You destroyed you body during that last fight."
With my head stuck facing the ceiling, my eyes could only catch a glance of the silhouette sitting next to the bed. But I knew it was her. Without a doubt, I knew it was Kihara Ayumi. But she was different. Completely stoic despite being nude. Why was she nude in the first place? And there's some kind of dark fluid all over her chest.
"Due to the fact that you overdosed on Body Crystal and still were unable to damage Gunha sets off her timetable. Well it doesn't matter, I have no interest in Kihara Ayumi's plans."
What?
"Oh? Surprised? Well It's fine I guess. I am, after all, Kihara Ayumi. But at the same time, I'm not the Kihara Ayumi you know. It's complicated and I have no obligation to tell you. What I am here to tell you is that I'm giving you a second chance."
Second chance?
The Kihara Ayumi who claimed she wasn't Kihara Ayumi continued, "Revenge on this city. Revenge on this dark place that considers its inhabitants as mere lab rats for a closed experiment." With every word she spoke I began to doubt that she was Kihara Ayumi. "I don't care about Level 6, or the Kihara family, or even science! I want to burn this city with it's own products. To banish every theory, plan, thought, or afterthought they have of keeping s under their thumb. I was used by this city. I'm a product of a great accomplishment, just like you." She placed her hand on her chest as if covering her heart. "You lost your body, And I lost my humanity."
Humanity?
Without warning two men in black entered the room. "I'm giving you this second chance at life, or revenge. Whether revenge on this city or me, I could care less. But fair warning," She dug two long fingernails deep under the skin of my neck. I wanted to cry out in pain but that was impossible. "If you do get in the way of my revenge," blood began to leak out of my body as her nail penetrated my skin, "I'll kill you. Blink once if you understand." I blinked in understanding and she removed her nails from my neck. It was scary.
It was different from Kazeyare Kouta's idiotic rage and from Sogiita Gunha's pressure. There was no emotion within her, just hate. Her eyes look straight passed me as if I wasn't even there. Before there was a sense of worthlessness, a rat caught in a cat's game of playing with food. Now there was nothing. A black space that took the form of Kihara Ayumi.
I didn't know what was going to happen but I knew one thing... I will get my revenge on Academy City!
