Henry kept staring at Regina, his eyes wildly searching her face for any sign that she may be joking, or that he heard wrong. His eyes flickered down to her stomach, not entirely sure what he was looking for, but it seemed to help his brain fathom the words spoken. She offered him a half smile when his eyes moved back up to her. "Sweetheart, please say something," she implored. That seemed to snap him out of his shock, and he opened his mouth to say anything, but his brain couldn't come up with the necessary words that would form a sentence, so he let the only coherent thought he had escape. "Robin?"

It came out as a question rather than a statement, and she nodded. Her panic now getting the best of her, she started ranting. "Henry, I promise you this was totally unplanned, I wasn't trying to have a child, I didn't even know I could."

Henry frowned at the last part. "What do you mean?" he asked, and Regina's brain finally caught up to her mouth, and she realized what she just told her son. She wasn't sure she wanted him to know what his great-grandfather did to her, but she had promised never to lie to him again. But would this be lying? Or a simple omission of the truth to protect him? He was barely old enough to know how babies came from! Wait…..did he actually know where babies came from? Was she supposed to explain that one too?! A loud 'Mom' followed by the sound of snapping fingers seemed to stop the frantic trail of thoughts, and she swallowed hard, doing her best to focus on the now worried son standing before her.

"Sorry, I got lost in thought for a moment there," she apologized sheepishly. She tried her best to put on a brave face, maybe even a confident one. But she could see it in her son's eyes that he wasn't really buying the façade. She was terrified, and he could tell. But the fact that he didn't quite understand what was going on was scaring him as well.

"How about we go sit down, and I'll explain it all?" she suggested, gently guiding him towards the stairs. He wordlessly followed her down the stairs, and back into her vault. He was surprised when she closed the coffin behind them, but he didn't press it. He sat on the chest she was sitting on mere minutes ago, and picked up the book she was looking through. He set it aside, making room for her, and she slowly lowered herself to sit facing him. She took a steadying breath, to calm her nerves, before she attempted an explanation. "Henry, I know that this is a shock to you. And like I said, it wasn't planned, it just happened. I wasn't hiding anything from you, I just found out this morning myself!"

"Mom, I know you weren't trying to have a baby while figuring a way to stop your sister from erasing us all from the future!" he deadpanned, and she chuckled. "But what did you mean by you didn't even know you could get pregnant?" he asked. "You haven't aged thanks to the curse, so it's not like age is a problem," he pointed out, and she shuttered slightly at the memory that plagued her mind. "Remember when I told you that Leopold didn't want me having kids, so that I don't end up having a boy?" she reminded him, and he nodded. "Well, there's this potion…." She trailed off. "It sort of like the magical version of birth control, but it…..uh…I thought it was permanent!" she stammered, and saw Henry's face go ashen.

"You mean the curse that made King George's wife unable to have kids?" he wondered in horror, and she swallowed thickly as she nodded. "He gave it to you!" he whispered, and once again she nodded. "And you never broke it?" he asked, and she shook her head. "I never really looked for a way while I was married to him," she started, he seemed to have a good idea of what she was talking about, so she assumed he also understood how babies were made. "I didn't really wanna have his kid, any more than he wanted to have mine. But after he died, I tried for years to lift it, but I could never figure out a way to do it," she explained.

At that, Henry's face broke off into a broad smile, and he cocked his head at her the same way she does when she's about to point out the obvious. "But you know better than anyone that true love is capable of breaking any curse? You eve managed to do it without a heart!" he retorted cheekily, and she smiled genuinely at him, a soft chuckle escaping her. She finally saw happiness starting to creep into his eyes, as he once more looked at her stomach. "How did you figure it out?" he inquired. She sighed, before she launched into the events of that morning, and how now both Granny and Ruby know.

"Can they tell you if it's a boy or a girl?" he teased, and that made her laugh. "No, sweetheart, it's still too early for that," she told him. "I'm barely two months along."

"I'm so happy for you, Mom," he said genuinely, his hand lifting, but he hesitated. She smiled reassuringly at him. "It's okay."

His hand went to her stomach, and lay there. "Hey, I can't wait to meet you," he cooed softly, before he lifted his head and fixed Regina with a serious look. "Granny and Ruby are right though, you should see Dr. Whale, and follow up with him," he stated, and she nodded. "Don't worry, I had every intention of going to him, but I wanted to talk to you first. I have an appointment set up for tomorrow," she assured him.

"You said you also wanted to talk to Grandpa. Where does he fit in all of this?" he wondered. "I want him to hide the pregnancy, so no matter how big my stomach gets, no one will know," she replied truthfully, and he cocked his head at her in confusion. "I don't want people finding out about this baby….." she trailed off, but he knew what she meant. "Especially Robin," he finished her trail of thought, and she fell silent. "Mom, it's his kid," he argued gently. "I know that, sweetheart. But I can't do this to him, the situation is complicated as it is. I can't add to his stress, or make him choose," she shot back. "But he deserves to know, maybe not right now, but he has a right to know," he declared firmly, and she merely nodded. "Just give me some time to figure things out first," she pleaded gently. "I won't say a word until you tell me too, and I won't leave your side either," he promised her, and she smiled, before she pulled him for a hug. They held on for a few long moments, before they finally pulled back.

"How about some dinner?" he suggested, and she scrunched her nose at him. "I'm not sure how your baby brother or sister feels about food!"

I know, I know. It has been far too long, and this is far too short. But it seems that I suddenly have trouble with this story, or more like how to get from point A to point B. But I seem to be semi back on track, so the updates should be more regular now, and not so far apart.

I know that this is merely Henry's reaction to the pregnancy, but I wanted that out of the way in the hopes that it can help with the rest of the story.

I am very thankful to those who kept reading it, following, and favoriting.

And a special thanks to the guest reviewer to kept nagging me to update, you motivated me enough to continue this...so thanks a million.
