Regina paced the exam room nervously, she had teleported there mere mintues ago, and sent Henry in search of Whale. She wasn't going to be seen entering the hospital, it was a ridiculously small town, and word travels fast. If anyone saw her entering the hospital, the rumor mill would start, and it won't be long before it reached Robin, and God only knows what those people are capable of theorizing.

Henry's words kept echoing in her head, he was right….Robin deserved to know. But she had absolutely no idea whatsoever how to tell him. She knew the baby would complicate things; that if he was staying with Marian for Roland's sake, then he'd be choosing between both his kids. So for now, this baby was going to remain a secret. She also didn't want whatever the hell was roaming the forest to wait nine months till she can no longer fight just to make itself known.

She looked up at the sound of the door opening, and saw Henry entering with Dr. Whale right behind him.

"Madame Mayor, it's always a pleasure," he greeted, though she was sure the last sentence was sarcastic. "What can I do for you?" he asked. Henry hadn't told him much, just that his mother was waiting for him, and that she doesn't want to be seen.

"I know that you and I don't really like each other, but I need to know that whatever is said here will not be repeated outside," she started, her voice firm, but void of any threats. Whale frowned at the anxious tone, and was about to fire off a snarky comment, but he saw the same worry on Henry's face, and decided against it.

"I'm your doctor, Regina. Doctor-patient confidentiality prevents me from repeating anything that I know about you to anyone. Your secret is safe with me," he assured her.

Regina sighed, taking in a deep breath, and exhaling it slowly through her nose. "I'm pregnant!" she declared.

If her stomach hadn't been in knots, she would've laughed at the way Whale's jaw hit the floor at her statement. His eyes immediately went down to her midsection, almost as if he could see inside her without the sonogram. She wasn't showing yet, and if she had any say in the matter, she won't. He kept staring at her for a few agonizingly long moments, before he finally swallowed thickly, and seemed to find his voice once more. "I take it it's Robin's."

Regina nodded. "But he doesn't know, and for now, I wanna keep it that way. In fact, there are only two more people who know about his baby aside from those in this room right now," she told him, and he nodded. "And I'm guessing the Charmings are nowhere near that list," he deadpanned.

She chuckled bitterly. "Of course not. Ruby and Granny knew, before I even did apparently!" she stated matter of factly, and he smiled, knowing fully that with their wolf nature, it was likely they knew of a few pregnancies before the mothers did.

"So that means you're far enough along for a heartbeat to be heard?" he suggested, and she nodded.

"Yeah, I think I'm about seven weeks along."

"Well, let's find out, shall we?" he gestured to the exam table, and Regina nodded.

She made herself comfortable on the table, and lifted up her blouse, while Whale pulled the sonogram table closer to her. He took his seat at her feet, and pushed a few buttons on the machine, before turning to her, gel in hand.

"This is gonna be cold," he warned and she nodded, wincing when the indeed- cold gel made contact with her stomach.

She turned to Henry, who was standing next to her head watching Whale's movements closely. "Are you alright, sweetheart?" she checked, when she saw the worried expression he had on his face.

"Yeah, I'm just a bit worried that's all," he said truthfully.

She used her free hand to take a hold of his own, finally getting his undivided attention. "Worried about what?" she asked.

He hesitated, not entirely sure what to tell her. He was happy about the baby, but he had spent the better part of the night reading up on pregnancies, and the complications that may arise. He knew that his mother hadn't really aged because of the curse, but she was still close to her forties – even without the curse – and according to what he read the night before, that could have some serious consequences on both mother and child. But he wasn't really sure how to tell her any of this. He didn't want her to think that he wasn't happy about this baby. He was just scared of losing her.

"Baby, whatever it is, you can tell me," she soothed.

"It's just….." he sighed, not sure how to start. "Yesterday, after you told me you're pregnant, I researched it online. And every single article I read said that pregnancy at your age was high risk, for both mother and child. And I know that you have magic and all, but we have no idea how the baby will affect your magic," he ranted. "And I just don't wanna lose you, Mom," he finally confessed, and Regina's heart constricted.

She moved the hand that was holding his, and gently cupped his cheek. She had researched the subject herself after Granny told her, and knew of the risks involved. It was why she didn't really object to the idea of being under the care of a doctor, even if said doctor was Whale. She had hoped that her son wouldn't get the same idea that she did, but it appeared he was more like her than she thought. But before she could think of something to say to soothe his fears, Whale interjected.

"Henry, don't believe everything you read on the internet. Yes, pregnancy at this age could have its risks, but if the mother is healthy, it is no more dangerous than any other," Whale explained. "I will keep a close eye on both her and the baby, and if you have any questions what so ever, I am always here to answer them."

It surprised Regina how thoughtful he was with Henry, and how reassuring his voice was. He had the probe ready in his hand, and once Henry nodded thankfully at him, he placed it over her stomach and started to move it around.

Regina turned to Henry, who was squeezing her hand again, his eyes glued to the black and white screen. "It's going to be fine, Henry," she assured, smiling comfortingly at him when his eyes found hers.

Henry opened his mouth to speak, but the rhythmic echo of a heartbeat filled the room, and both mother and son stared at the screen, dumbfounded.

"Heartbeat is steady and strong, and this is your baby," he commented, using his pinky to circle a peanut-shaped blip on the screen.

Regina's vision had blurred over at the sound of the heartbeat, and a soft, tearful gasp left her lips when Whale pointed out the baby on the screen. She beamed at the sight, the tears now flowing freely down her cheeks.

Whale looked over, smiling softly at the happy, tearful faces of both mother and son as they watched in awe. "Everything seems perfectly fine," he assured, pressing a few more buttons as he spoke. He finally removed the probe away from Regina's stomach, and the sound stopped. That was when Regina heard Henry sniffling next to her. She turned to him, and found him wiping at the tears in his eyes. Her heart swelled with joy, her little boy had such a big heart that he was crying at the sight as well. She pulled herself up a bit, and gently guided him into her arms.

"I'll be here every step of the way, Mom," he vowed, mumbling into her shoulder. She smiled tearfully at his words, and pressed a kiss to his forehead, once she pulled back. "I know baby."

"Here you go, baby's first picture," Whale stated, handing her a print out of the sonogram.

Regina took the picture from him, and softly ran her fingertips over it. "Hi, baby," she whispered lovingly, leaning her head against Henry's when he put his arm around her, and moved his head close to get a better look. She pressed a kiss to his cheek. "I love you both, so very much."

Henry smiled lovingly at her. "We both know, and we love you too," he quipped, but the sincerity was real.

I know I know it's short, but with four stories to update, three weddings to plan, my brain is a little fried. So when I had a decent chapter written, I decided to upload it so that I don't keep you guys waiting any longer.

I still haven't watched this season at all, but from what I've read, Zelena's baby is here! And for some reason, my brain won't shut up about a twist, that baby is actually Regina's but Zelena somehow hijacked the pregnancy!

Anyways, mini-rant is over, but I do hope that the second half of the season is better with less gaping plot holes.

Let me know what you all think.
