Hi all everyone, here is chapter 9
and the results of the vote between What our minds are hiking book 2 and Intruder book 2 are over and with an overwhelming vote is Intruder book 2.
The three women were running down a new hall that would lead them out of the building when the alarm started.
"Damn it!" Bobbi said.
"What is it?" Simmons asked in a clearly scared tone.
"We can´t use the back door now, the building is in lockdown, no one can get out," Bobbi said.
"The roof," Daisy´s small voice said.
When Bobbi asked what she meant, Daisy said if they used a secret passage on the west side of the building, it would lead them to the roof.
Bobbi then called May, and had Trip wait for them on the west side of the roof.
There was chaos the whole way, people didn't know what was going on, and no one had heard from Whitehall, Adams, or Bakshi.
There were a few Hydra agents that looked at the three women. Since two of them had blood on them, they stopped them, to ask questions as to why they had blood on them, but since they knew Daisy, they weren't hostile towards them.
Before they could answer, Adams' strained voice came over the speaker system.
"If anyone sees Agent Johnson and the two women with her, apprehend Agent Johnson and kill the other two!"
There was a short pause before the Hydra agents attacked.
Two went after Bobbi, one went after Simmons, and the last three went after Daisy.
The three who went after Daisy were hesitant since they feared her, but they had their orders.
Bobbi dealt with the two agents fast and then the one who had a grip on Simmons.
Simmons nodded her thanks to Bobbi, they then turned to the three men who were facing Daisy, both Bobbi and Simmons could see that Daisy was conflicted about fighting the three Hydra agents. The agents could see that too and used that to their advantage. They pushed Daisy into a corner, so Bobbi attacked the three men. The first two went down fast, the last man took a moment but soon Bobbi had dealt with him too.
"Come on, let's go before more Hydra agents show up, which way now Daisy?" Bobbi asked, looking at Daisy. Daisy, after a moment, pointed to the left, and then they were off again. Simmons ran beside Daisy to keep an eye on the young woman, since it looked like Daisy was second guessing going with them, which Simmons could understand as Daisy was still technically under the effects of Adams´s brainwashing, but Simmons hoped that Daisy wouldn't change her mind. She didn't want to think about what Adams would do to Daisy if she stayed.
"The passageway is around the corner," Daisy said, Bobbi nodded at that and looked around the corner.
"It's free, Daisy, can you open it?" Bobbi asked, and Daisy nodded and opened the secret door. The three of them hurried inside and closed it right as they could hear footsteps running towards them.
Then it was just straight up the stairs all the way up to the roof.
After a few flights of stairs, Simmons was tired,"How many flights are there?" she asked, Bobbi looked at Daisy since she was the one who knew of the passage.
"Seven more, then up the hatch, and we are there," Daisy answered.
Simmons made an unhappy noise, even as she had started to train since before going undercover, she wasn't in the best of shape yet.
"Come on, Trip will be here soon, and we are almost there," Bobbi said.
After a few minutes Bobbi turned to Daisy, "How are you holding up Daisy?"
Bobbi was still unsure about what had happened in the basement, or why or how Simmons had gotten Daisy to come with them, but she didn't really care, she wants Daisy to come. She had secretly wanted to just take Daisy away when they had first met, but Daisy seemed so loyal to Adams, Whitehall, and Hydra over all.
But here she was running up stairs to get to the roof, and then out of here. She was concerned about her, she looked pale and very troubled about all of this.
"I am fine," was all Daisy answered, but Bobbi didn't really believe her, and a look over at Simmons told her that she didn't believe her either.
Shortly after, they reached the roof. Bobbi contacted Trip on the way up the stairs to keep him updated on where they were and when to be ready for them.
They could see the quinjet, the inside of it since Trip hadn't turned the cloaking off, they were almost there when someone called out for them to stop.
They turned around and saw Adams being held up by two Hydra agents, flanked by four other agents, two on each side.
"Daisy, come here! This is your last chance before I get really mad at you!" Adams yelled at Daisy.
Daisy tensed, and both Bobbi and Simmons could see Daisy struggling as to what she should do, and Adams saw it too, by the look Bobbi saw on the older woman's face.
"Daisy, come back to me, I know you want to. These S.H.I.E.L.D. agents that we trusted to help make you feel better have done the opposite, and now they want to take you away from me; the only person who wants you," Adams said. Daisy became more troubled, she even took a few steps away from Bobbi and Simmons, but not much closer to Adams.
"That's good Daisy, now you just need to come over here, so we can take care of our intruders," Adams said, smirking.
"No Daisy, listen to me, if you come with us, you will be safe, no one will hurt you, and no one will make you do things you don't want to. Daisy, please come with us," Simmons pleaded with Daisy.
"Don't listen to her, Daisy. They are S.H.I.E.L.D., remember they are the reason you didn't have your mom or dad growing up," Adams said, looking intensely at Daisy after giving Simmons and Bobbi a glare.
"We didn't kill them, you did," Simmons yelled back at Adams very angrily, and glaring.
Bobbi was very confused about the situation, the way Adams spoke to Daisy irked her, and the thing with Daisy's parents was also confusing her, but she had to focus on the danger in front of her. It seemed that the Hydra agents Adams had with her were under orders to not engage until Daisy was over on their side. She knew Daisy was high up the chain, but she still didn't know why.
Trip's voice came in her ear, "We need to leave," he said, she took a deep breath, then she turned to Daisy while still keeping an eye on the Hydra agents.
"Daisy, please come with m- us. Simmons is right, we won't hurt you, and if anyone tries to, they have to go through me," Bobbi said looking Daisy in the eyes, and what she saw broke her heart. Daisy looked so confused, hurt, exhausted, and lost.
Daisy looked between the two sides; she then looked at Bobbi and nodded and started to walk over to Bobbi and Simmons.
"NO!" Adams yelled, Bobbi saw her pull out something that looked like a small remote, she also saw Daisy and Simmons tense.
"Think about what you are doing Daisy," Adams said, gripping the device tightly.
Daisy's breath became shallow and fast, but she took another step closer to Bobbi and Simmons.
"Very well Daisy, but remember you made me do this," and then Adams pushed a button and Daisy collapsed screaming. Bobbi sprang over to Daisy, yelling over her shoulder for Simmons to get into the quinjet. She picked Daisy up fireman style when it became clear that Daisy couldn't get up.
Before the Hydra agents could fire a shot, she began firing at them and running to the quinjet. The Hydra agents quickly ran for cover, readying themselves to fire back at Adams' orders, since she had ordered them not to fire a single shot before she gave them the go ahead.
When Adams did give the order, though they needed to avoid Daisy, it was too late, the cargo ramp door was closing, and they were already flying away. Since the quinjet was cloaked, they didn't know which direction it was flying.
"DAMN IT!" Adams yelled.
