CHAPTER SIX

"Regina?" Henry asked "Do you want to go horse riding with me?"

A nine year old Regina looked at him, her deep brown eyes shining. "Yes Daddy! Thank you so much!"

Regina ran to get her horse riding outfit and was soon galloping along the horse alongside her father enjoying the lovely cool autumn day.

As she did often when riding she looked off into the distance and saw the tall tower that had had been in construction since she was around two. Regina was curious about it and loved to see it get higher and higher, every so often. She assumed it was probably completed now as she hadn't seen it grow for the past few months. As usual she wondered who would live in such a tall tower. Even the royal palace was only 5 floors high except the treasure tower which was only slightly higher than the rest of the castle.

Deep in thought, Regina didn't notice the stick on ground and unfortunately, neither did her horse. Pretty quickly the horse tripped and Regina flew and hit her lip on a short metal pole used as a marker in horse racing.

king Henry quickly jumped off. "Are you alright?" he asked her, knowing it was a stupid question even as he said it. Regina was crying pretty hard so clearly she wasn't.

A nearby servant rushed to call Cora and Regina sobbed into Henry's arms. "Daddy I am never going horse racing ever again!" she declared.

"Why is that?" Henry asked her gently.

Regina looked at him confused "Because I fell duh."

Henry ruffled Regina's hair as he began to answer, "Honey, just because you fell doesn't mean you are not good at it. You are a fantastic horse rider for your age! Accidents happen all the time. Whoever was it that told you that just because you made a mistake, it means you have quit what you love?"

Regina didn't answer. She turned to where Cora was walking hastily towards them. Regina inwardly wished her mother would run. Break the laws of protocol for once. Show that she is worried about her daughter. But Cora never runs. She's a lady and always behaved perfectly ladylike.

"Regina!" Cora said while taking a close look at Regina. "Oh dear. It appears this wound may leave a scar. So you will have to be a princess with an ugly lip. Hopefully you will still be able to find a prince willing to marry you".

"Cora!" Henry hissed at her.

Cora just gave him a haughty look. "well at least she isn't the heiress. Zelena better be careful to keep her beauty until she is old enough to marry."

Regina didn't say anything outwardly but inside she was thinking about how she didn't want to marry a prince who cared so much about her looks anyway. She would rather marry a girl who didn't care.
