Chapter 12: One Year Anniversary

*Rima's POV*

"Almost done," Nadeshiko said.

"Guys, it's a comedy show. I don't have to dress up," I said.

"True, but it's your anniversary of dating Nagi. He's taking you out to dinner first so you have to dress up for that," Rei said.

"Fine." There was a knock on the door.

"Who is it?" Rei asked.

"Nagi."

"Give us a second. Rima-chan still needs to get dressed," Nadeshiko said.

"What have you been doing this whole time?" he asked.

"Hair and make-up," Rei answered. The girls quickly dressed me up and pushed me out the door. I ran into Nagi but he caught me.

"Missed me that much Rima?" I looked up at him and smiled.

"You know you don't have to take an hour of getting makeup on to be beautiful, right?"

"I know but the girls thought I needed to dress up." Nagi cupped my face with his hands and kissed me.

"Get out of here you two! You'll miss the show," Rei said as she opened the bedroom door, Nadeshiko right behind her. He took my hand and guided me downstairs, and out of the house.

"That was so yummy," Kusukusu said.

"I agree," I said.

"I'm guessing you ladies enjoyed your meal," Nagi said.

"We did!" Kusukusu cheered.

"Ready for the show?" Nagi asked.

"I have been all night," I said. Him and I walked a block to the theater. We held hands and talked about nothing really. It was cold out. It was early November. There was a man waiting in front of the theater. He checked our tickets then guided us to our seats which were in the front row.

"Wow," I gasped.

"Only the best for you Rima," he said.

"How did you get front row seats?" I asked.

"Being a Fujisaki has its advantages," he said. He smiled at me. I knew I already had a big grin on my face.

"Thank you. The present I got you isn't as good as what you got me," I said.

"You didn't have to Rima," he said.

"I know but I wanted to," I said.

"Rima, thought really hard for a long time on what to get you," Kusukusu said.

"She did?" Rhythm asked.

"Of course. She wanted to make Nagi smile since her smile was so important to him," Kusukusu said.

"Kusukusu!" I whined. I knew my cheeks were pink. After a year of dating Nagi you would think I would be over blushing but no. He kissed my cheeks then we sat down. The show wouldn't start for another few minutes. Then suddenly I felt a cold chill run up my spine. Goosebumps popped up on my arms and legs even thought I was wearing a jacket and pants. I knew Nagi was hot because his hand was in mine and it was warm...more than usual. He took off his jacket and handed it to me.

"Nagi, this can't happen right now," I said.

"I know, but we can make the best of it," he said. He picked me up and put me on his lap. I leaned back on him and I felt heat radiate off of him. Your cold will be good enough for me. You can cover the front of yourself with my coat. I slid my arms in the sleeves in his jacket and wore it backwards. Nagi was right. I felt better.

"Thank you," I said.

"Anything for you," he said and kissed my cheek.

"Is something wrong Rhythm?" Temari asked.

"I have this weird feeling but I can't explain it," he said.

"Maybe you have an upset tummy," Kusukusu said worried.

"Maybe," he said. The lights went out and the show started. My attention was off the charas and on the show. The starting comedian wasn't bad but I could tell he had a long way to go. I hardly noticed how cold I was, between the jokes and laughs. Nagi held me close. I know that comedy wasn't his favorite thing like me, but he seemed to enjoy himself.

*Amu's POV*

I was burning up so I decided to take a walk in the chilly November air. It felt nice but it didn't cool me down completely.

"Amu-chan, there's something wrong!" Ran yelled.

"Something wrong? You mean an X egg?" I asked.

"No it's different!" Miki said.

"A bad difference-desu," Su said.

"It's coming from over there!" Dia said as she pointed down the street. I quickly picked up the pace and followed my charas directions.

*Nagi's POV*

"It was so much fun," Rima cheered. I smiled at her attitude. It's not everyday where you see Rima acting like a child.

"I'm glad you thought so," I said as I held her hand. We were heading back to the Mashiro house. Curfew was an hour away.

"And he said 'pudding'!" Kusukusu repeated a joke from the show. All of us busted up laughing, remembering the face the comedian made while saying his joke.

"It was a perfect night," she said. That smile I love so much was on her face. I couldn't help but smile at the radiance that glowed off her.

"That will be you one day," I said. She looked up at me confused.

"I mean, you'll be a comedian one day. You'll make kids like us laugh and inspire future comedians," I said. Her face seemed to shine even more when she smiled again. I felt something run into to me. It was a girl maybe a few years older than Rima and me. She had blonde hair that was curled odd. She looked like she knew me or Rima. There was a smirk on her face.

"Watch it kid," she said then walked the opposite way from us.

"Who is that girl?" Rima asked.

"I don't know," I said.

"There's something weird about that girl," Temari said.

"Agreed, and I'm not talking about her weird octopus haircut," Rhythm said. We decided to forget the girl and made it back to the house. Rima was quickly snatched by Rei and Nadeshiko so they could ask her questions.

"I'll be down here then!" I called up to them.

"Welcome back Nagihiko. Did you and Rima have a fun night?" Mrs. Mashiro asked as I walked into the kitchen. She was washing dishes. I sat on a stool while I talked to her.

"Yes, she smiled the whole night," I said.

"I'm glad," she said," would you like something to drink?"

"Yes please." She dried her hands then grabbed a bottle of juice from the fridge.

"Thank you," I said when she handed it to me.

"You're welcome," she said. She continued to do the dishes.

"Rima's father has to work late. I was thinking all of us could watch movies tonight," she said.

"Sounds fun," I said.

"Will you go get the girls please?"

"Yes."

*Amu's POV*

What is that thing? It wasn't like an X egg. It had a question mark on it. A ? egg.

"How do we stop it Amu-chan?" Ran asked.

"I guess the same as always," I said.

Charanari Amulet Heart

"Negative Heart: Lock on!" It missed and the egg moved behind a small girl.

"Who is that?" Miki asked.

"Everyone should be happy!" A small girl said.

"What's going on?" I asked.

"That egg belongs to her but she seems really happy," Dia said.

"But there is something weird-desu," Su said.

"We need to take care of it now! Negative Heart: Lock-"

"My heart unlock!" the girl cheered.

"What?!" I yelled. Her words surprised me enough to distract me.

Charanari Happy Dream.

"I don't understand," I said.

"Everyone be happy!" the girl yelled. She blew sparkles at random people who happen to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. Their mouths turned into smiles so big they looked painful.

"Stop it! Can't you see that you're hurting them!" I yelled.

"But they're happy," the girl said.

"It's great to be happy but you can't be happy all the time," I said.

"But-"

"It's ok to feel sad or angry sometimes," I said before she could get another word in.

"But I want to be happy and make others happy," the girl said. She sounded defeated. The question mark on her face turned into an X.

"Amu-chan, now!" Ran yelled.

"Right!" I pointed at her.

"Negative heart! Lock on! Open Heart!" I purified the egg and it went back into the girls chest. What is this ? egg? Do we have a new enemy?

*Rima's POV*

"Did you have fun?"

"Was it romantic?"

"Where did he take you to eat?"

"Did you like the show?"

There was a knock on the door to stop the questions.

"Who is it?" I asked.

"Nagi."

"Nagihiko! You had your time! This is girl time," Nadeshiko said.

"I'm apologize but Mrs. Mashiro wanted to have a movie night," Nagi said in his "Nadeshiko voice". Rei opened the door.

"Girl enough for you?" Nagi teased.

"Mother and I taught you too well," Nade said.

"I heard movie night. Why are we up here?" Rei said. She linked arms with Nadeshiko and they ran downstairs. I let out a sigh of relief. They wouldn't let me get a word in even though they wanted answers.

"Ready Rima?" I looked at Nagi.

"No, I have something to give you," I said. I quickly went into my closet and dug out a present. It was nicely wrapped. I couldn't do it so I asked mama to wrap it for me. There was a nice bow on top of it.

"It's not as nice as what you got me but I hope you like it," I said as I handed him the gift. He ripped the paper and saw a regular white box. He opened it to see a piece of paper. He flipped it over to see a drawn picture. It was of him and me. We were dancing. One of his hands was at my waist while the other one held mine. My free hand was on his shoulder. My dress twirled as if we were moving in a circle. Both of us had smiles on our face. There was something around my neck. It was the necklace he gave me.

"Rima, this is amazing," he said. I looked at the floor embarrassed. My gift was no where as good as his. He took me to dinner and an amazing show. I worked really hard on his gift but it didn't seem like it was enough. Kiku-chan let me work on it during my therapy sessions and she kept it so Nagi could never accidentally find it. I felt something under my chin tilt my head up.

"Rima, how long have you worked on this?" he asked.

"A few weeks," I said honestly.

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"You worked really hard. I love it," he said.

"You're only saying that," I said.

"No I'm not. I can tell that you worked hard just to make me happy. It's something you made for me. I love it just like I love you," he said. Before I could say anything, he pulled me in for a kiss. I quickly wrapped my arms around his neck. It was wonderful. I felt something on the bottom of my lip. I gasped letting Nagi put his tongue in my mouth. Our kissing never went this far before. It was different but I continued to let him roam my mouth.

"Rima! Nagi! Stop making out and come watch this movie with us!" Rei yelled from downstairs. We seperated once we heard her. We both looked at each other and laughed. We then headed downstairs.
