Chapter 14 The Worst Pain in Nagi's Life
*Rima's POV*
"Yaya said it was important that we meet her at the Royal Garden right after school," Amu said.
"Kairi said the same thing," Kukai said.
"They even sent it to me and Utau," Ikuto said. All of us older kids (and Ikuto) were heading to where we were told to go.
"I didn't even know they had my number," Nami said.
"Everyone has everyone else's number," Aarin said.
"I didn't think of it that way, she said. Tadase opened the glass door and we all walked in.
"I'm so glad you're here!" Yaya yelled. She glomped the nearest person which just happened to be me and knocked me over. The wind was knocked out of me.
"Yaya! You're hurting her!" Rei yelled.
"Sorry Rima-tan. I got a little too excited," Yaya said. I coughed a few times and Nagi helped me to my feet.
"Yaya...you said 'I'. You spoke first person," I said. Everyone then started to notice it too.
"That's right! She said 'I'm so glad you're here'," Tadase said.
"I stopped third person speaking last night," Yaya said.
"Yaya, you're growing up!" Kukai said as he messed with her hair.
"Kukai-kun!" Yaya whined. Kairi came up to Yaya and pulled her away.
"We have something serious to talk about," he said. All of us were a little surprised by his action but we sat down. Of course there weren't enough chairs so some of us sat on the floor of others laps. Of course I was on Nagi's lap.
"I forgot to get a few things!" Yaya said.
"You already know why we brought everyone here. You can go ahead and get them," Kairi said.
"Alright but I don't want to go alone. Nade-chi, Rei-tan, will you come with me?" Yaya said.
"Sure, Rima or Aarin and catch me up on everything later," Rei said.
"The same with Nagihiko," Nade said.
"I also want Aarin-kun to come. I'd feel better if we had one boy with us," Yaya said.
"Of course," he said.
"I would take my boyfriend but-" Yaya slapped a hand over her mouth.
"I think us three girl need to talk," Nadeshiko said as she linked arms with us.
"And Aarin too," Rei said as she hooked arms with Yaya's free arm. The four left with the girls dragging Yaya away. I looked back at Kairi. His cheeks were a bit pink but he managed to brush it off quickly. That must mean Yairi is now real.
"Anyway, there is a reason we asked you to meet us here," Kairi said to get everyone's attention. They all turned back to him.
"Yaya and I have now been hot and cold," Kairi said.
"I was too! I was hot last night," Tadase said.
I fear that I might have a suggestion to who's behind this but none of you are going to like the answer," Kairi said.
"Just tell us already," Utau said.
"I believe that Rei and Aarin-kun are the enemies once again."
"WHAT!?" I yelled.
"Think about it. They are the only ones that haven't been hot or cold," Kairi said.
"They've been too busy to be doing this," Kukai said.
"He's right, if the ? eggs and this hot and cold thing are connected then the two wouldn't have the time to pull it off," Utau said. I was glad that they were standing up for my cousin and her boyfriend because I was too shocked to prove him wrong.
"Is that all they do? They do things to gain popularity and they are setting up for the new tour but they don't go on date nights? Extra activities that we don't know about?"
"No one here lives with Aarin but he works at his aunt's seasonal shop sometimes," Nagi said.
"Rei doesn't have another passion besides singing and performing," I said.
"Wait a minute guys. Nami hasn't been hot or cold either," Ikuto pointed out.
"About that, I need to tell you something," Nami said.
*Nade's POV*
"Yaya, we've been searching all over the school. Are you sure it's here?" Rei asked.
"It has to be," Yaya said.
"You haven't even told us what it is," Aarin said.
"It's-it's personal," Yaya said.
"Is it from your boyfriend that you haven't told us about?" I asked. Her cheeks turned a light shade of pink.
"Maybe," she said.
"It's Kairi isn't it?" Rei asked.
"How-how did you figure it out so fast?" Yaya asked.
"It's obvious. I assumed you guys were dating when I first saw you two," Aarin said.
"You too seem so cute," I said.
"You see why I have to find it," she said. We all began to search again. I stopped when I heard a beep from my phone.

*Rima's POV*
"What!" we all yelled shocked.
"It's what I said. I was cold last night too," she said.
"That means that all of us but Rei and Aarin have it," Tadase pointed out.
"This has only been effecting guardians and their friends with charas," Amu said.
"That's what I really wanted to tell you. Everyone, meet my chara," she said. A small chara with long black hair and bright green eyes popped out from Nami's hair. She had a green, sparkly dress. Her hair was in two high poytails. There was green ribbons tied into giants bows and the stings hung down past her body.
"Hello, my name is Kaya."
"Hi! I'm Kusukusu. Kusukusu took Kaya around all the charas and introduced her.
"That points more towards the duo pop stars," Ikuto said.
"Nagihiko-san, Rima-san, they are around you two the most. Tell Rei, Aarin-san, and Nadeshiko-san something completely different. We can't let them know we're on to them. Also Nadeshiko-san doesn't know anything about this.
"I'll tell Rei and Aarin that this meeting is about the hot and cold thing. Also Nagi and I will tell all three that its about you and Yaya dating," I said. Kairi's blushed then shook it off but not before everyone could see it.
"You two are together!?" Amu yelled.
"I saw that coming," Utau said.
"Same here," Ikuto said.
"I had no idea," Amu said.
"Because it's you Amu," I pointed out.
"It's odd. The hot and cold thing happens then two pairs end up dating right after and the other two pairs are already dating," Kukai pointed out.
"That could be a clue to all this," Tadase said.
"We'll think about it. For now we act like we don't know anything new," he said.
"We found it!" Yaya yelled as they burst into the room. They were all there except one.
"Where's Nadeshiko?" Nagi asked.
"She had a friend pick her up," Rei answered.
"Who?" I asked.
"I don't know but there was a limo," Aarin said.
"I guess we walk home without her," Nagi said.
*Nadeshiko's POV*
"This has been fun Lulu-chan."
"Please, call me Lulu."
"I haven't had this much fun since I've come back to Japan."
"What do you mean?" Lulu asked.
"Well...I don't really have any friends."
"You had that huge group with you."
"They are my brother's friends. Don't get me wrong, they're really nice to me but they don't really know me," I said.
"Then don't hang out with them. You don't have to be in their friend if you don't want to."
"I don't want to be rude to them. They've been really nice to me."
"I wasn't saying be mean to them. What I'm trying to say is make your own friends. You have your own interests and life. You're not your brother," she said. She has no idea. Everyone knows me as the image my brother has created for me. He may act like me but he isn't me. I have to live in the outer character he created for me. If I act different then someone will know something is different and Nagi will move to Europe with dad. Is that a bad thing though? Nagi wouldn't have to dress like a girl. He could be himself and I could see him all the time. He could meet the friends I have back home. No, he wouldn't like that. He'd rather walk on eggshells and be here than leave Japan. He's popular, sporty, and in love. I can't take that away from him.
"Be an independent woman," she said.
"I'll think about it," I said as I looked away from her. I noticed that she had jewelry, some were finished while others weren't.
"You make jewelry?"
"Yeah. It's a side hobby of mine."
"Can I look at them?"
"Sure," she said as she walked over to her working desk.
"These are my favorite to make," she said as she held up a simple necklace with a red stone in it. I could have sworn I saw it glowing but that must have just been a glare.
"I could make you one if you want?"
"Really?" I asked. I was surprised by her extreme kindness.
"Sure, I'll make you a Lulu original," she said.
"Thank you. That's very kind of you," I said.
"It's not a problem. You know, I used to make my friends back home necklaces like this and they always said that there was some kind of luck in them."
"Luck?" I asked.
"Yeah, they always said that these necklaces will make your biggest wish come true."
*Nagi's POV*

"It's okay guys. I'll chill here," Nami said. Her chara was born today so none of us expected her to be able to charanari yet.
"Where did all these ?eggs come from?" Yaya asked. The second we left the Royal Garden, we were attacked by ? eggs.
"How about them," Aarin said as he pointed over to a bunch of elementary girls. They looked extremely happy and they were giggling to each other.
"How many are over there?" Tadase asked.
"It looks like ten," Ikuto said.
"Great we outnumber them," Amu said.
"Everyone go after a different one and try to catch them!" Kukai said. All of us stuck with plan. It was odd that Tadase didn't give us an order but then again, he's not the king anymore. All of us except Yaya and Kairi are equals at school. Except Ikuto of course who doesn't go to high school. These things were fast and tricky. All of us were struggling to get them until-
"Tightrope dancer!" The ropes grabbed on to seven of them.
"Amu, hurry!" Rima grunted. She was trying all her might to hold on to the ropes. I quickly grabbed a few to help her. She smiled at me.
"Negative Heart! Lock On! Open Heart!" The seven were purified.
"There are three left!" Tadase said.
"I can only do so much," Rima said. Her charanari left her.
"Kusukusu, why did you-"
"I didn't do anything," Kusukusu said.
"Then charanari, we aren't done yet.
"My Heart, unlock" Nothing happened.
"What!?" I saw one of the ?eggs throw an attack towards her.
"Rima!" I quickly picked her up and dodged the attack.
"I can't transform. Is my dream going away?"
"No Rima, there must be a logical explanation for this," I said. I landed gracefully. I looked over at the others. Ikuto, Kukai, and Kairi were back to normal too.
"What happened?" Amu asked.
"They can't charanari Amu, don't worry about them. Yaya, Tadase, and I will protect them. You and Utau will purify the ?eggs with Rei and Aarin's help," I said. Everyone got to work. Yaya, Tadase, and I took the others to safety inside the school.
"Are you guys feeling okay?" I asked.
"Fine, not even tired," Kukai said.
"Isn't it obvious what we have in common?"
"No," Yaya said.
"All the people who can't charanari are the people who are on the cold side," Kairi said.
"Then that means I won't be able to charanari either." We looked to see Nami. She was sitting on the stairs with her new chara on her shoulder.
"It's ok Nami-chan, we will be able to after this is all over," Kaya said
"That was intense," Utau said as her and the rest of our group came inside the school.
"You can say that again," Amu said.
"Everything is fine out there," Rei said.
"Did you figure out why this happened?" Aarin asked. All of us deactivated our charanari.
"Only the cold people can't charanari," Kairi explained.
"Oh no," Rei said.
"Are you sure? Maybe you're tired or hungry," Amu said.
"Amu, it feels like I never could charanari in the first place," Rima spoke up.
"The Shrimp pretty much summed it up right there," Ikuto said.
"Our charas are right here in our face but we can't use their power," Kukai said.
"Wait a minute! Kairi is cold?" Rei asked.
"That's what the meeting was about," I lied. It wasn't really a lie.
"Okay, I'm caught up now. We best get the cold people home," Tadase said.
"Nami, Aarin and I will walk you home since we haven't been hit with the hot and cold thing yet," Rei said.
"Thanks," she said. Each of us paired up and a hot person took a cold person home. It was getting dark anyway so the buddy system was better anyway. Rima and I were walking alone. She didn't say anything since we left. The look on her face showed me that she was deep in thought. I waited by the light waiting for the pedestrian walk sign to turn on. I didn't notice at first that Rima didn't even look both ways. She just walked out there.
"Rima," I said. She snapped out of her phase.
"What?"
"Come back, you're in the road." She started to walk back when we saw lights. Rima stopped and looked at them. She was like a deer in headlights. A car was coming right for her.
"Rima!" I reacted quickly. Adrenaline was pumping through me. I ran as fast as I could and pushed her out of the way. Then I felt the most horrific pain I have ever felt in my life. I don't really know what's going on but I heard a scream.
"Rima," I barely said.
"Nagi," she said as she came into my view. She set my head on her lap.
"Oh my god! I'm so sorry! I'll call 911!"
"Who's that?" I asked weakly.
"Don't worry about. You have to stay awake," she said. There were tears in her eyes. Even though I was in pain I reached up and wiped a tear that escaped her eyes. I paid for it because pain shot down through my leg making me moan in pain.
"Don't move," she said.
"An ambulance is on the way!"
"Ambulance?"
"Nagi, I love you," she said.
"I love you too Rima." My eyes started to feel heavy.
"Rima, I'm tired," I said.
"Nagi, you can sleep later. Please stay with me," she begged. More tears fell down her face. My body was so numb except the pain in my leg. I wanted to wipe her tears but I had a hard time lifting my arm. I heard something loud.
"Thank god they're here. You're going to be alright Nagi," she said. She left my view and complete strangers came into my view. I was being moved onto something that felt similar to a really uncomfortable bed and then I was lifted up.
"Hey had a broken leg and he may have a concussion," one of them said.
"Little girl, what happened?"
"He was hit by a car," I heard Rima say.
Temari: *gasp*
Kusukusu: I didn't see this coming
Rhythm: Nagi! Hang in there man!
Temari: It's not like he can die. He's one of the main characters of this fanfiction
Kusukusu: Temari's right! His name is even in the title
Rhythm: "Nagi the Dancer" doesn't look like he'll be doing much dancing with that leg

Temari: What will happen to poor Nagi *cries*

Temari: *loud mode* YOU DON'T CARE THAT MY BEARER IS INJURED SO BAD THAT HE HAS TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL! I WORRY ABOUT HIM GREATLY!
