Rima: I don't know if I like where this story is going

Nagi: What do you mean Rima?

Rima: She already physically injured you. What's next? Is she going to kill someone off?

Nagi: *sweatdrops* This is Shugo Chara, not Harry Potter. I don't think you have to worry. Also you're a main character in this fanfiction. Your name is in the title.

Rima:Your's is too

Nagi: I think we're fine

Rima: I read this book that the main character died at the end

Nagi: What book is that?

Rima: I can't say. It's a big spoiler and I don't know if the reader is that far or not

Nagi: Alright, you can show me after this chapter so you don't have to say it

Chapter 18 LIVE Announcement

*Rima's POV*

"So why are we all here?" Nade asked. We were all backstage of a reality show.

"My sister said it was a good time for Rei-san and Aarin-san to show their identities," Kairi answered. All of us were backstage to an interview that Rei, Aarin, and Utau were at.

"The plan is that the host will ask about how they are. There will be a few light jokes here and there. Then the host will ask about the tour this summer. They'll give a few details but nothing to big. We'll go out there in these masks when the host asks who is going with us. Then some how the host will bring up the subject of their identities. The two will act a bit nervous and then in the end they will show themselves. That's when we take our masks off," Kairi explained.

"Wait! My mom doesn't know about Rei and Aarin," I said.

"She was informed earlier this week," Kairi siad.

"Also Rei's parents don't know," I pointed out.

"Rei asked her mommy and daddy to watch the show because her friend was on," Yaya said.

"So she's telling her parents this way instead of face to face," Amu said.

"It seems so. She must be worried what they think," Kukai said.

"Guys, the show is starting," Ikuto said. All of us were silent. Each of us put on a mask. The boys had a purple one like Aarin's and the girls had a white one like Rei's.

"Hello everyone, welcome to the show. Our celebrity guests are Utau Hoshina, Do Re Mi, and Arihiko," the host said. The host was a young female that looked like a movie star. Everyone clapped as the three singers smiled at the camera. Who knew Rei was so good with cameras and live shows.

"Alright, welcome to the show," the host said.

"Thanks for having us," Aarin said.

"Well, I've had Utau Hoshina here before but I've never had you two before. I don't think you've done an interview before," the host said.

"Utau is a few years older than us. Last year our old director didn't think it was a good idea till we were a year or two older," Rei explained.

"So how have you all been getting along? Utau, do they get your approval?" the host asked.

"I'll be honest with you, I didn't really like the two when they first arrived at the studio. I thought that they were stuck up and all about themselves since they sang but they never talked to the people. I found out that they weren't stuck up. They were just younger. I thought they were as old as me. Once I got to know them I realized that I was wrong. Of course they get my approval. I wouldn't be going on tour with them if I hated them," Utau said. The crowd cheered.

"Do all of you know enough English?"

"Actually I'm from America. Japanese is my second language," Aarin said.

"Really? Your Japanese is very good. No one would expect a thing."

"Well, I never really cared about learning a second language. I was ten when I began learning. This girl right here pretty much taught me everything I know about this cool country," Aarin said as he wrapped an arm around Rei shoulders.

"Well not everything," Rei said being modest.

"Do you know English?"

"Yes, I met Ari that way. We were pen-pals in kindergarten," Rei said.

"So you've made a friend in a complete different country when you were only ten?"

"Of course. He's my best friend in the whole wide world," she said. The crowd aww-ed at her statement.

"Now this tour, will you be gone through the whole summer?"

"Pretty much. We leave a week after school ends. That gave us a break just in case if we had any snow days. Since it's starting to warm up we don't have to worry about it now," Utau explained.

"And you're taking your closest friends with you?"

"Yes, we actually asked them to tag along," Rei said.

"Come on out guys," Aarin said. All of us came out and sat down while the crowd clapped.

"I see your friends are fans," the host said pointing to me and Nagi.

"Actually they've always looked like that. We copied them as our inspiration," Rei said.

"I guess that means I have a confession to make. My hair isn't long and purple. It's short and brown," Aarin said as he pulled his wig off. The crowd gasped.

"Does that mean Do Re Mi's hair isn't blonde?"

"No this is my hair. I promise," Rei teased.

"Since we're getting confessions out-of-the-way. Is there anything else you want to confess?" The two pop stars looked at each other than back at the host.

"Well, I guess we could tell...I don't know."

"Come on Do (dough)! We can tell them. Theres no harm from it right?" Aarin said.

"I guess you're right," she said.

"They seem to be talking about something foreign to us," Utau said. The crowd laughed.

"We have an announcement," Rei said.

"We'll get to that announcement after this commercial break." the host said. Rei sighed a big sigh of relief as the camera was faced away from her.

"We don't have to if we don't want to," Aarin said rubbing her back.

"Mom and dad are going to kill me," she said.

"You never know. Auntie and uncle might be shocked at first but they know you loves singing and music and they'll support you 100%," I said. Rei looked up at me and smiled. It was weird. Usually Rei is the one that would comfort me and give me advice. Now it's the opposite. I've change since I first walked in Seiyo Elementary over a year ago. I would manipulate boys, only depend on Rei for advice and comfort, and I didn't take care of others. Now my fan boys love Rimahiko, not just me; I try my hardest to take care of Nagi and I'll have a little brother or sister to help take care of; and I'm giving Rei advice and she's leaning on me to be there for her. It's as if my whole personality changed. I never noticed any change.

"Rima? Are you alright?" Nagi said.

"Yeah, just deep in thought," I said as I smiled at him.

"Guys, I don't think I can do this," Rei said. She hung her head in her hands.

"Re- Do Re Mi," Aarin corrected himself since there was still the host and the makeup crew that was fixing her makeup nearby," you don't have to do this."

"We already said that we have announcement. We can't just say it was a joke," she said.

"You let me worry about that. I got an idea that will cover it up," he said. All of us looked at Aarin as if he was going to tell us his plan but he didn't have enough time.

"We're live in 3...2...1."

"And we're back. Right before the show these two teenage pop stars admitted to a huge announcement," the host said. Rei seemed super nervous but she covered it up with a smile. She was a Mashiro just like me. She could cover up her feelings well.

"Yes we do. Do (dough)?"

"Yeah," she agreed.

"Get down to it you two. No stalling! The suspense is killing us," the host said.

"I guess there a bunch of ways we could say it but actions speak louder than words," Aarin said.

"Ari, what do you-" She stopped talking when Aarin grabbed her hand and kissed her cheek. Her face was red. All of us instantly knew Aarin's plan. If they told the world that they were dating then the world would think that was the big news. This way they didn't have to say who they really were.

"Ari," Rei said pretending to be embarrassed.

"Don't be shy Do (dough). It's about time the world knew," he said as he wrapped his arm around her shoulder. She smiled up at him.

"You heard it folks. Arimi (air-ee-me) is official," the host said. The crown cheered.

"Arimi? I didn't know we had a couple name," Aarin said.

"I knew we were always shipped together on fanfiction. It's a fan-girl thing," Rei said.

"That's all we for our three guest and their friends. Now our next guest is an actor from the newest movie. Find out who," the host. The cameras were faced away from them again.

"Alright everyone, to the car," Utau said. All of us followed Utau as she guided us to the limo outside. All of us went first piling in. Then Rei and Aarin came out last holding hands and smiling at fans as they cheered their names. They got in and the limo drove away.

"Nice cover Aarin," Kukai said.

"It was the first thing that came into my head," he admitted.

"On the bright side you get to act lovey dovey on stage instead of pretending you're not dating," Amu said.

"I know," Rei said with a smile.

"Sanjo texted me. She said that you need to talk to her soon. It must be about the surprise confession," Utau said.

"I actually have another confession," Rei said. All of us looked at her surprised. Even Utau and Aarin didn't seem to know what she was about say.

"After the tour in America, I will be going back home," Rei said. Everyone had a different reaction, some gasped, some were more confused, and others stayed silent.

"I'm sorry but I miss my home. I love it here and I love all of you guys but I miss my mom and dad. I miss my bed and the friends I made there, and all of my life that I made there," she said. She was on the brink of tears. Aarin wrapped an arm around her to comfort her. I looked at him. He just admitted that he liked her on LIVE TV and then she tells him she's leaving.

"I'm sorry," she sobbed. Aarin rubbed her back but he didn't say anything. He probably didn't trust what would come out. No one was really able to say anything. I saw Nagi looking at me. I looked back up at him. He must be wondering if I was ok with this. Of course I wanted my cousin to stay but I didn't need her like I used to. Don't get me wrong, I love her to death but I also want her to be happy.

"Tell auntie and uncle that I say hi," I said trying to break the awkward silence. Rei managed to stop sobbing to look up at me. I smiled at her.

"Ri-ri," she said. I let that go. She was upset and I wasn't going to yell at her to stop calling me that. She let go of Aarin and hugged me.

"Thank you Rima. I promise to tell them," she said.

"You're welcome," I said.
