Recap
"I have a chara egg."
-Nade
"You're right. We need to wait for the perfect time. We can't do it right away. Sitting and waiting for the right time is the smartest move."
-Nami
Nagihiko, what did you get yourself into?
-Mrs. Fujisaki's POV
"Listen, I'm not saying end it with him (Leo) but be on guard. If he starts to act different in a bad way then it's time to end it with him. If he changes for the better then Blue was wrong."
-Utau
I know I was told to stay put but I can't let them get hit. I can't let him hurt my little brother. I can't let this happen! He's already been hurt. I will protect you little brother!
-Nade's POV
Kusukusu: What happens next!?
Temari: You'll have to read to find out
Kusukusu: Nade can't be hurt! She's so nice and she can see charas now and she's pretty and-"
Temari: Please ignore her
Chapter 27 Squirrels Don't Like Lulu
*Nagi's POV*
"Nagi!" I didn't have time to react. The ball of energy was heading towards Rima and me. I can't character change again. Even though my injury is almost gone, I exhausted myself. I held Rima close and closed my eyes, waiting for the hit. She held me close too. I saw the light through my eye lids. It was almost here but a shadow blocked it.
"Nade!" Rima said surprised. I opened my eyes to see purple hair, exactly like mine. I swore I saw something yellow too.
"Nade!" the others called her. The light was in front of us but she was able to stop it. The light then quickly vanished. Two yellow fans were in Nade's hands. She blocked a hit with traditional dancing fans?
"It's alright little brother. I'll protect you," she said. She still had her back faced towards us but I knew she was smiling.
"Way to go Nade-chi!" Yaya cheered.
"Nade, since you can block these things then we'll need your help," Utau said.
"Good because I have a plan," Nade said.
*Nade's POV*
"How did you stop my hit?!"
"That's the power of shugo chara," I said.
"This time I'll hit you." He swung his bat hard. The ball of energy was bigger and faster but I swung my fan and it bounced off towards the boy. He dodged it.
"Your aim is off," I said.
"Shut up!" he tried to hit me again but it had the same result.
"Not everyone likes to be athletic. There are even some who hate it. Rima would be a good example. You're a disgrace to athletic people. You can't make people enjoy something that you love. Everyone is different," I said.
"Nade? What are you doing?" Amu asked.
"You're gonna piss him off more," Utau warned. They all looked at me confused. If my theory is right then maybe I can stop him.
"You're useless!" I yelled.
"Nade!" Nagi scolded.
"Trust me," I whispered.
"Useless?" the boy said. I could tell he was unsure of himself. The ? on his head turned into an X. I was right!
"He turned into an X charanari!" Yaya yelled in shock.
"Amu now!" Tadase ordered.
"Right! Negative heart, lock on! Open heart!" So much power came out of the pink haired girl. That power was strong and pure. It embraced the boy and cured his chara egg. The boy passed out. He was lying there in the grass.
"I'm wiped!" Amu complained. All of the charanari's left instantly. Tadase, Yaya, Utau, and Amu looked tired. They fell to their knees.
"Yaya can't get up!"
"You must be tired if you go to third person," Rima said.
"Rima you're better," Amu said relieved.
"The hot and cold left right after you purified the egg," Rima said.
"We need to head back," Nagi said.
"I think I have a really good theory on the ? eggs," I said.
"We need to have a meeting but I really don't want to walk," Utau said as she plopped down in the grass.
"If you call Sanjo then she can pick us up," Tadase suggested.
"Good idea," Utau agreed as she got her phone out.
"Yaya, are you ok?" Amu asked.
"Yeah, Yaya is tired. Yaya will take a nap," she said as she curled up on the grass and closed her eyes.
"This isn't a place to nap!" Amu yelled. I couldn't help but giggle at them.
"Where am I?" I looked to see the little boy had woken up.
"It's alright. You must have been pretty tired to fall asleep in the grass," I said.
"I guess I was."
"You like sports right?"
"Huh? How did you know?" he asked.
"It was a guess. You look like an athlete. Am I right?"
"Yeah! I play soccer, basketball, and baseball. When I get older I want to play football too," he said. I noticed the sparkle of determination in his eyes.
"You'll do great," I said.
"How do you know?"
"I'm a dancer. It's great to have physical strength but that's not enough. You can't get far unless you have the heart to commit to something," I said as I put a hand on my heart. I then took his hand and put it on his chest.
"I can tell you have the passion for it," I said. He smiled at me.
"Thanks lady," he said.
"You better head home. It's starting to get dark," I said.
"Oh no! My mom will be angry if I'm late for dinner!" The boy ran off.
"That was very kind of you Nade," Nagi said.
"Thank you. How are you two?" I asked as Nagi and Rima came up to me.
"We're fine thanks to you," Rima said. Kusukusu cheered for me. Rhythm and Temari joined in.
"You called me Nagi too."
"I'm sorry. It was a spur of the moment thing," I said.
"Why are you apologizing? That's my nickname after all. It's fine if you call me by it. It's just the first time I heard you say it," Nagi said.
"Nagi," I said testing the name out. It was still weird. I always call him by his proper name.
"It will take some getting used to," I admitted. Rima, Nagi, and their charas laughed.
"Wait a minute. You character changed," Nagi said.
"Yeah I did."
"Doesn't that mean that your chara hatched?" he said. I reached into my pocket where my chara egg was but I felt nothing.
"Where is it?" I looked in my other pocket hoping I was mistaken.
"You can't find it?" Rima asked.
"I had it in my pocket," I said as I checked again.
"What's wrong?" Tadase asked.
"I can't find my chara egg!" I said as I began to panic.
"Don't worry it has to be around here somewhere. It must have fallen out when you were running," Tadase assured me. He stood up even though I knew it took a lot of strength to do it.
"You shouldn't push yourself," I said.
"I'll be alright. I can't let a friend's chara go missing," he said. I smiled at him. He was probably the sweetest friend I had.
"Thank you," I said.
*Lulu's POV*
"I had no idea that Nade had a chara," I whispered as I held the purple egg in my hand. I put X tape on it so the chara couldn't come out.
"You are going to be caught if you stay behind this tree. They are looking for it," Nana said.
"I know but if I leave the tree they'll spot me. I'm stuck here," I whispered. The egg was purple. That was a suiting color for Nade. It's just like her hair. The others didn't see what happened. The little chara did come out of the egg but I quickly snatched it before it could be seen. The blinding light from that boys attack was the perfect cover.
"Let me out!"
"Quiet," I whispered to the egg.
"Who are you!?" I ignored her. It was best to not give her any clues. I felt something run across my feet. I looked to see a squirrel.
"A squirrel?" It sniffed my shoes but I kicked it.
"Scram," I whispered. It got up and charged at me. It ran up my leg and began to bite all over me. I screamed as I tried to get it off. The chara egg fell out of my hands as I ran. I managed to get the stupid rodent off of me but it was chasing me. I hate rodents!
*Nade's POV*
"Did you hear a scream?" Rima asked. Tadase walked towards the scream.
"Guys I have good and bad news," he said.
"What is it?" Nagi asked.
"I found Nade's egg."
"Thank you," I said as I ran up to him. He handed it to me but there was something on it. I gasped when I realized what it was. Rima told me about it.
"There was a company called Easter. It was run by Utau and Ikuto's step-father. They made something we call X tape. It forces a chara to stay in their egg."
"X tape?"
"That means someone was here trying to take your egg away," Rima said.
"Why? I just got my chara," I asked.
"We don't know. You should take the tape off. It's bad for charas," Tadase said. I quickly did as he said.
"My egg is cracked! Did I break it?!" I asked worried. Tadase looked at it.
"No this is good. That means your chara hatched," he said. I looked up at him shocked.
"It hatched?"
"That explains why you could character change," he said. I was so happy right now. My chara hatched. Without thinking, I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him. He seemed surprised but hugged me back.
*Rima's POV*
I had to admit that those two were cute.
"Sanjo is here," Utau announced as she struggled to get up. All of us got on the tour bus she was driving.
"What happened?" Sanjo asked.
"There was a ? egg," Utau explained. Nade looked at Utau confused that she would tell an adult.
"Sanjo is one of the rare adults that can see charas," Utau explained.
"Oh. That makes more sense."
"I wonder why the chara won't come out," Amu said.
"Maybe it was scared and it can come out but chooses not to," Nagi said.
"Maybe it's playing hide-and-seek," Yaya suggested. All of us sweatdropped.
"I don't think so," Rima said.
*Time skip*
*Rima's POV*
"We have to figure this out. I'm tired of feeling sick every time this happens," Kukai said.
"At least you're not exhausted," Utau whined.
"Yeah, but at least you can charanari," Ikuto added.
"Yaya can't control her charanari!"
"I miss my charanari," Kairi admitted. Everyone began to argue. Even Nade and Nagi were fighting which surprised me. I rarely see them angry.
"Enough fighting!" I yelled. They all stopped talking and looked at me.
"We can't afford to fight, especially right now!" I yelled.
"Rima's right," Amu said.
"We should be working together," Yaya added.
"When Nagi and I were out, our charas sensed another chara. Of course we tried to find it but we never did," I said.
"We ran into the boy with the ? egg instead," Nagi informed.
"Right, that means that someone with a chara is making the ? eggs. It also means that it has to be someone around our age," I explained.
"They would also need some financial support since they're following us around America," Rei said.
"Exactly! I couldn't have been any of us too. There was no one alone when the ? showed up," Amu said.
"So that means it can't be Rei or Aarin!" Yaya cheered.
"We already discussed that!" I said annoyed. I knew from the start it wasn't them.
"This person probably knows us personally," Utau thought out loud.
*Nade's POV*
Instantly I thought of Lulu. Utau said that they thought she had a chara.
"Yes, Leo and Blue don't have one. Nami has one too. Also we're almost certain Lulu has one."
There's no way it could be her. The person behind this tried to take my chara egg. Lulu is so sweet. There's no way she would do that to me.
"Then I'll ask the big question. Who do we know that has a chara and isn't on tour with us?" Aarin asked. Everyone stayed silent.
"Nami," Rei said as if she couldn't believe it.
"We don't know for sure if it's her. We shouldn't jump to conclusions," Tadase said.
"We may not know who did it but I think I know how they work," I said.
"You seemed to know what you were doing at the time," Amu said.
"It was a guess. I think ? eggs are the opposite of X eggs. Instead of making kids depressed with no hope, they make kids embrace their dreams head first without thinking. It clouds their judgement with their desires, thus making them want others to join in on their fun. They don't notice that they're hurting people," I explained.
"That makes sense," Ikuto said.
"Is that why you called them useless?" Amu asked.
"Yes. It was really harsh but if you can snap them out of their reverie then the ? turns into an X. They slow down and it's easier for Amu to purify them," I said.
"What's a reverie?" Yaya asked.
"It's like a daydream," Kairi explained.
"That's brilliant Nade," Utau praised.
"New eyes looking at a situation really helps sometimes," Tadase said.
"Nice Fujisaki," Kukai said as he gave me a noogie.
"Kukai! My hair!" I whined.
"Nade is acting more her age," Yaya said as she giggled. I never noticed that I changed, but they did. I think I judged this group too early and harsh. They aren't so bad and they accept me. I see why my brother likes them so much.
*Nami's POV*
"Ow! That hurts!" Lulu yelled.
"I hope it does! I can't believe you tried to take Nade's egg," I said as I put more rubbing alcohol on her bites.
"Ow! You're pressing too hard!"
"Maybe it will teach you a lesson."
"Shut up and finish it," she mumbled. I quickly finished patching her up.
"Why do you like that group so much?" she asked.
"They're my friends. They're my REAL friends," I emphasized.
"Oh shut up! I have real friends."
"Nade doesn't count. You aren't honest with her and you tried to stab her in the back."
"Of course she counts. We gossip all the time and she calls me her best friend."
"That's a one-sided friendship. Lulu? Do you have any friends?" I asked seriously.
"SHUT UP!" She pushed me down and sat on me so I couldn't get up. She went to punch me in the face but I blocked with my arms. Every word she said was another punch.
"I...HAVE...TONS...OF...FRIENDS!"
"Stop it!" Kaya yelled.
"Lulu calm down!" Nana yelled. Finally one of the guards pulled her off of me.
"Lashing out only proves my point. You're alone," I said.
"SHUT UP!"
*Time Skip*
*Rima's POV*
"Today's the night Rima! I'm so nervous!" Rei said as she hugged a pillow in her dressing room.
"Why?"
"Aarin and I will be singing our love songs."
"That's great!" Kusukusu cheered.
"It will be pretty cute and it will help your fan base increase with Arimi," I pointed out.
"What if his is amazing and mine sucks?"
"That won't happen. Also even if the crowd hates it, it doesn't matter. This song is for Aarin. Go show him how you feel," I said.
"Thank you Ri-ri," she said as she hugged me.
"Please don't call me that."
"Miss Do Re Mi, it's time," a stage crew member announced as he knocked on the door.
"Here I go," she said. I followed her and the crew member to the stage. I sat back with the others while Rei walked on the stage. Utau was already on stage.
"Everyone, you're in for a special treat. Do Re Mi wrote a song for her boyfriend. She wanted to share it with all of you," Utau announced. I saw Rei smile nervously as she held on to her guitar as if it was was keeping her on the ground. I had never seen her get this nervous on stage before.
"I don't know where Ari is right now but this is for him."
I don't know but I think I may be
Fallin' for you, dropping so quickly
Maybe I should keep this to myself
Waiting till I know you better
I am trying not to tell you, but I want to
And I'm scared of what you say
So I'm hiding what I'm feeling
But I'm tired of hiding this inside my head
I've been spending all my time
Just thinking 'bout ya
I don't know what to
I think I'm falling for ya
I've been waiting all my life
And now I found ya
I don't know what to
I think I'm falling for you
I'm falling for you
Aarin managed to sneak on stage without her knowing and sat down on the piano bench behind her. He put a finger to his lips to tell the crowd to keep a secret. He watched as she poured her heart into this song. I could see the big smile on his face.
"She didn't know but Aarin planned this from the beginning," Utau said.
"He did?"
"Yes, he told me to accidentally slip up and tell her he was writing a love song for her. He knew that she would want to do the same him. He wanted to see her shine," Utau informed.
"He's super smooth," Rhythm said with pride.
"I never took him as a romantic," Nade said.
"You'd be surprised by who is and who isn't," Blue said. I noticed that Leo glared at Blue for a second then he wrapped his arm around Nade. Was there something going on there? Nade looked uncomfortable. I should help her.
"Nade, will you dance with me?" I asked.
"Of course," she said with a smile. She grabbed my hands and we spun around.
"Thank you," she whispered.
"No problem. Is there something I should know?" I whispered back.
"It's nothing I can't handle," she assured.
"If you say so." She twirled me and dipped me as the song ended.
"TURN AROUND! TURN AROUND!" The crowd cheered. Rei looked confused. That wasn't the reaction she was expecting from the crowd. She was about to turn around but Aarin stood up and wrapped her up in his arms before she could turn around.
"Ari!" she said surprised.
"That was really sweet Do (dough)."
"You liked it?"
"Of course I did. Why wouldn't I?"
"I don't know," she said.
"There's no time for doubt. We have a crowd to entertain," he said. He let go of her and guided her to the piano. She sat away from the piano while he sat towards it. He began to play.
Her eyes, her eyes
Make the stars look like their not shining
Her hair, her hair
Falls perfectly without her trying
She's so beautiful
And I tell her every day
I know, I know
When I compliment her she won't believe me
It's so, it's so
Sad to think that she don't see what I see
But every time she asks me
"Do I look okay?" I say
When I see you face
There's not a thing that I would change
Because you're amazing
Just the way you are
And when you smile
The whole world just stops and stares for a while
'Cause girl you're amazing
Just the way you are
Rei's cheeks are pink. I could tell that she was in a daze. She stared at Aarin with a smile on her face as he sang. Nade and I continued dancing.
"May I cut in?" Nagi asked.
"Of course," Nade said. Nagi took my hand and we began to dance. All the other couples began to do the same thing.
*Nade's POV*
They all looked beautiful as they danced. Leo didn't want to dance so I stood on the side to be out of their way. Utau made me question my relationship. If I look at all the other couples I see love and happiness. Why is it that I don't feel that way? Nagi always makes sure Rima is happy. Ikuto always makes sure Amu is safe, even if he loves to tease her. Kukai always makes sure to bring the best out of Utau, Kairi always makes sure Yaya knows what's happening. Aarin always makes sure that Rei shines. Why can't my relationship be like that?
"Would you like to dance?" I looked at the hand in front of me then I looked at its owner.
"Tadase?"
"You love to dance. It's not fair that you're the only one that's not dancing," he said. I smiled at him and accepted his offer. I didn't notice it before but Tadase always makes sure that I'm not left out of anything.
"Watch it blonde," Leo warned.
"You didn't want to dance, that's fine, but Nade shouldn't be left out," Tadase said.
"Whatever." I noticed that a female crew member walked by and he checked her out. Did he just do that? Why is he looking at other girls?
"Don't let him bother you. You should still have fun," Tadase said.
"You're right," I said.
"Dance all night long!"
"That voice," Tadase said. My chara egg flew in front of me
"Hello Nade!" Wazzup!" The chara cracked the egg a bit do I could only see her eyes, They were a beautiful topaz color.
"Hi, why don't you come out," I whispered. I didn't want Leo or Blue to hear me.
"I hate to admit it but, I'm scared. The minute I came out I was locked in my egg. Why did you do that?"
"I didn't do it. Someone bad tried to steal you from me," I whispered.
"That makes sense why I was dropped too."
"Please come out."
"I'm gonna chill in here a bit longer." The egg was shut and it went back into my pocket.
"She'll be out before you know it," Tadase said.
"I know." The crowd applauded as Aarin finished his song.
"So? Did you like it?" Aarin asked. Rei answered by kissing him which caused an uproar from the crowd. They are really cute together. When people see Leo and me do they think we're cute? No probably not.
Rima: The author left everyone on a cliffhanger for a long time again!
Nagi: daydreamer1105 apologizes
Rima: She's gone too far this time!
Nagi: She started college a week ago so she's having a hard time managing her time
Rima: Oh
Nagi: Anyway, you got a taste of Nade's chara so question #29 is what do you think Nade's chara name be and what will she look like?
Nade's Chara: Review!
