Recap
Charanari Radiant Queen
-Nade
"I'll be ok. I have you (Nade) to protect me. In chess, the queen always protects the king."
-Tadase
"I know. I'm sorry Nade. My momma needs me more than you do."
-Lulu
"I want to break up. I know that what we had wasn't real. I think we dated each other to make others angry. You (Leo) brought out my bad side and now I realize that I made Blue jealous. We used each other for our own gain."
-Nade
"Hikari, it's nice to finally meet you openly like this,"
-Hikari
Temari: Hikari you have a pretty kimono
Hikari: Thanks Temari, I think yours is cool
Kusukusu: *giggles*
Rhythm: Kusukusu they are scary. One minute they're chasing me and then the next they are acting girly. I think I'll go insane
Kusukusu: Well they are your sisters. That's what they do.
Rhythm: I don't want to be the only boy chara at home
Kusukusu: Maybe Nade will have a boy chara
Hikari: I'm Nade's only chara
Temari: Nagi only has me and Rhythm so he's stuck with being outnumbered
Rhythm: That is so not cool
Chapter 31 There's No Place Like Home
*Rima's POV*
"It's good to be back home," Amu said.
"We still have to land," Tadase pointed out.
"I know but I can see the airport right there," she said.
"I can't wait to get this stupid thing off my foot," Nagi said as he moved his boot to prove his point.
"I won't have long in the airport. I want to make sure I say goodbye to all of you," Rei said.
"You're not leaving the second we get to airport. I better get a hug before you leave," Utau said.
"She's right. Also you'll be back in the summer to perform more," Aarin said.
"If you guys figure out anything about Nami and the ? eggs then please tell me. I will be there as soon as I can," Rei said.
"We'll let you know," I said.
"I just thought of something. We start school in a week. I start high school in a week," Kukai realized.
"You'll be eaten alive," Utau teased.
"Is it that much different?" Kukai asked.
"You have to work a little harder and even though it's only four years of your life, it seems like the most important time of your life when really it's not. Wait till you get to college," Ikuto said.
"You're in college?" Yaya asked.
"I took a break for a year to look for my dad. My first semester starts two weeks from now. It's at the local community college," Ikuto explained.
"Wow it's like you're a grown-up," Yaya said.
"I am a grown-up," Ikuto sweatdropped.
"Look guys we're almost on the ground," Nade said. I looked out the window and watched as we landed. We moved a bit more till the plane came to stop.
"Hello passengers. We have arrived. Please grab your items and leave in an orderly fashion. Nagi grabbed my carry on bag and handed it to me since I couldn't reach it. All of us walked off the plane into a tunnel.
"I wonder how much our parents missed us," Tadase said,
"Let's get out there. I want to see my mommy," Yaya whined. Once we went through the door we saw a bunch of people that were getting ready to get on. Off to the side were our parents.
"Mommy!" Yaya yelled as she ran to her mom. Everyone went to their parents or guardians. Tadase's mother greeted him, Amu's parents were there with Ami, Nagi and Nade were greeted by their mother, two of Kukai's brothers came to pick him up, Kairi had his sister there so his parents didn't come to pick him up, also Ikuto and Utau didn't have anyone either. Their mom wasn't there. Aarin's aunt was there too. My aunt and uncle were there. They hugged Rei tight. I saw papa next to mamma. Her stomach was huge. She was sitting down but when she saw me she stood up. I didn't realize how much I missed them till now. I ran to them and hugged my dad first. I went to hug my mom but I didn't know if I would hurt her.
"You can hug me Rima," momma said. I did but I didn't squeeze her.
"Your big sister is home Yukiko," mamma said to her stomach. I thought it was a little weird but I didn't question it. I didn't have to. Momma noticed my questioning look.
"Go ahead Rima. You can feel." I had never really been around a pregnant woman before.
"Won't that hurt her?" I asked.
"No Rima." She grabbed my hand and set it on her stomach.
"I don't feel anything."
"She might not be very active today but I know she's happy that you're home," Papa said.
"How's my littlest cousin doing?" Rei asked.
"She's just fine. You have a safe trip home," Momma said.
"I will. Rima I'm going to miss you," Rei said as she hugged me.
"We'll see each other on holidays and in the summer," I said as I hugged her tight.
"We better get your luggage," Mrs. Fujisaki said. We all walked to the luggage belt that pushed our luggage along.
"I'm going to miss you," Aarin said as he took Rei's hand.
"I'll miss you too. I know that long distance relationships are hard but we can make it work," Rei said.
"I know we can," Aarin said. He then kissed her. She kissed back. After they pulled apart Rei touched his necklace. It was the one Nami gave them.
"I don't think we should keep wearing these if Nami isn't on our sides," Rei said.
"You're right," he said. They took the necklaces off.
"Rima. Will you hide these for me? Nami may want them back. It could be a clue to this whole mystery," Rei said as she handed them to me.
"I'll hold on to them," I said.
"Thank you," she said. She then turned to everyone else.
"Bye." She hugged everyone goodbye and then got in the back of her parent's car. They drove off.
"We better head home too," Mamma said.
*Time Skip*
*Mrs. Fujisaki POV*
"It shouldn't take long at all. We are going to take the boot off and then do a few exercise tests to see if you have fully healed," the nurse said.
"Nagihiko, your sister and I will be here in the waiting room," I said.
"I'll see you soon," he said as he smiled at me. I knew that he was happy to be able to go back to normal. I sat by Nadeshiko and waited. She was reading a magazine that the doctor provided. I'm so glad that my children are back and that they are well. Now how to I ask him.
"Ask your son about Easter. Ask your son about shugo chara."
I can't let that evil man get into my head. For all I know, he could have made it up to create a wedge in my family.
"Mother? Are you alright?" Nade asked. Nadeshiko couldn't be involved. This whole Easter thing had to happen before she came back to Japan.
"I'm worried about your brother," I said. I better not involve her if she wasn't part of it.
"He'll be fine mother. He is excited to go back to normal. He wouldn't stop complaining about his boot," she said. Nade seems a little different than before. It's as if her face is brighter like she's the happiest she's ever been.
"I know but I'll always worry about you and your brother."
*Nade's POV*
"She's hiding something," Hikari said.
"There is something on her mind," Temari agreed. I also thought that too. Mother seems a little too fake right now. She is a caring mother and she does worry about Nagi and me but there is something about her. It's as if she knows something we don't. I might need to warn Nagi about it.
"I'll be right back. I have to use the restroom," I told my mother. I quickly made my way over there. The girl charas followed me. Rhythm was with Nagi. I quickly checked to see if I was alone. Luckily I was.
"Temari. You have to warn Nagi about mother. I fear that mother may know something about him but she doesn't want to involve me," I said.
"Alright I'll warn him," she said. I left the bathroom. Temari went pass the nurse's desk to look for Nagi.
"I hope this is nothing," Hikari said.
"Me too."
*Nagi's POV*
"Can you move your leg without pain?" the nurse asked.
"Yes." I moved my leg to prove it. I'm so glad I got that stupid boot off. Maybe I can play basketball this year.
"You seem to be completely healed. I'll get the doctor and he will be the one to give you the official green light. Please wait here," the nurse said. She wrote a few things down and then left. As the nurse opened the door, Temari slipped in.
"Temari? What are you doing here? I thought you were talking to Hikari," Rhythm said.
"I was but we're worried," Temari said.
"Worried? I'm fine Temari. The nurse thinks I've made a full recovery," I said.
"Not about that."
"Then what are you worried about?"
"Your mother is acting strange. She seemed a bit tense. Nadeshiko asked if she was alright and she said she was worried about you," Temari said.
"She's my mother Temari. She would be worried about Nade too if she broke her foot," I said.
"You didn't see how she looked and acted. Fujisaki's are good at acting and hiding our emotions but we can see through each other's mask. She wasn't worried about your leg. She was worried about something else."
"I don't know what she would be worried about. We'll find out when she confronts me about it. For now we should go on like we usually do."
"But-" A knock on the door stopped the conversation. The doctor walked in.
"Hello Nagihiko. Let's see if that leg is working." He had me do a few more exercises and he looked at my x-ray they took.
"Your leg is perfect. If you look here, that's where you bone was fractured but if you look here you can see that it's healed quite a bit."
"Will I be able to play basketball this year?"
"I think you can but I would compress it every game and practice this season. You don't want to agitate your leg again."
"Thank you doctor," I said.
"Let's go tell your mother the good news," he said. I had to walk with one shoe on. With the brace off I can finally wear two shoes again. My mother had my other shoe in the waiting room. The doctor opened the door. My mother stood up and walked over to us.
"His leg is completely healed. Also he can play basketball this year but it would be best to compress it to be safe."
"Thank you doctor." I can't see what Temari was worried about but mother is happy right now so that may be why I can't see it. I'll have to keep an eye on her.
*Rima's POV*
"It feels good to be home," I said. The house looked a little different. There were baby things in the living room but besides that it looked the same.
"We had the baby shower. I'm sorry we had it while you were gone," Momma said.
"It's ok." I'm just happy I'm having a sister.
"This is so cute. Yukiko is going to be just like Rima," Kusukusu said as she looked at some of the baby toys.
"Where will she sleep?" I asked. If Rei had to share a room with me then does that mean I have to share my room with Yukiko?
"Her room is going to be where your papa's home office used to be."
"You haven't seen it yet. Let me show you," papa said. I followed him upstairs. The room across from my parents looked completely different. It used to have a desk with a computer and a bunch of paperwork on it. The walls used to be plain white but now it was painted pink with pictures of fairies on it. There was a crib built. There was a toy box with Yukiko's name on it. On the other side was a changing table. There were boxes of diapers stacked on top of it.
"She's going to love it," I said.
"Yes she will. There are some things for you in your room," he said. I hurried to my room. It was cleaned since I had been gone. Also the trundle bed had been pushed under my bed. The only thing that was out of place were the things on my bed. There was an ultrasound picture of my sister. There was also a shirt that says "Big Sister" on it. It was so strange that I loved my sister so much and she hasn't even been born yet. I thought for the longest time that I never wanted a sibling. I didn't want that sibling to be in the world I was in with all the yelling. When they told me I was going to be a big sister, I didn't know how to react. My first thought was the one I grew up with. Why would they bring another life into this dysfunctional family but then I thought about how much this family has changed for the better. I looked at the small trophy my parent got me for my birthday. "Best Big Sister" is what it said.
"It's strange, isn't it?" mamma asked. I didn't realize she was standing by the door.
"I can't wait to meet here," I said.
"You will in a few months. We just have to be patient. I know she's going to love her big sister."
"How do you know? I could mess it up," I said. Papa walked in behind momma.
"I looked up to Rei's dad when we were kids. He was my cool big brother. I wanted to be just like him," papa said.
"Just be yourself Rima!" Kusukusu cheered. I smiled at her and then at my parents.
"I'm glad to be home."
*Lulu's POV*
"I'm glad you had a safe trip back to Japan Lulu," Mr. Valentine said.
"It was very noisy with her on the plane," I said as I pointed at Nami. She didn't say anything.
"Nami, care to add anything?" Mr. Valentine asked.
"No sir."
"No...?"
"No father," Nami corrected herself. She looked pained to say that. She must really hate her step-father. I can't really blame her.
"Good girl. You did a wonderful job at taming her Lulu," he said.
"Thank you sir," I said.
"My top scientist says that the machine is overheated so we're going to take a break from the ? eggs. Think of it as a little vacation," he said.
"Yes sir. Will the plan still work with this break time?" I asked.
"It will still work beautifully. Also Rei Mashiro has moved back to her home so we have one less guardian to deal with. She was one of the ones that for some reason wasn't affect by the machine. After a few changes it should work," he said.
"Let me know when you need me," I said.
"We'll stay in touch." I walked out of his office and out of the building. I was on my way home when my phone ringed. I checked the caller ID. It's Nade!
"Hello?" I answered.
"Hello Lulu. I just wanted to let you know that I'm back from America. I have so much to tell you. I was wondering if we could hang out soon," Nade said.
"That would be great. You can sleep over at my house tonight," I said.
"That would be amazing, I'll be there in about an hour. My brother just got his brace off so we're celebrating by eating at a restaurant," she said.
"Great. I'll see you then," Lulu said.
"Alright bye."
"Bye." I hung up the phone.
"Lulu what are you doing? We almost got in trouble for helping Nade out. You can't keep hanging out with her," Nana said.
"Nade is my best friend. Who cares what Mr. Valentine said. We're taking a break anyway. I can do whatever I want."
Kusukusu: When is Rima's sister going to be born?
Nagi: It will be a few more chapter before she's born. It's around August in the story and Rima's sister is due to be born around early November
Kusukusu: That's too long to wait.
Nagi: Sorry
Rima: I hope I'm a good sister
Nagi: You'll be fine
Rima: I guess I'll go ahead and ask the question. Question # 33 is: Do you think I'll make a good big sister?
Rhythm: That wasn't the question-
Nagi: Just let it go Rhythm. Rima is clearly worried about it
Kusukusu: Review
