"What about Adelaide?"
"No."
"Darwin? You're always saying you want to go there someday."
"No."
"Come on, Bianca! You're saying no to every place I've suggested!" Heath moans.
He had decided he wanted to take her away somewhere as Darcy was going to stay with her gran, Connie, for a week during the school holiday that was coming up. Bianca had turned down all of his suggestions, and he had nothing left. He was half tempted to let her choose, but knew she'd only get mad at him for it. He just wanted them to have some time alone together, something they rarely got anymore.
"Where do you want to go?" Heath asks, knowing by the look on her face that he shouldn't have asked it.
"You said you were going to plan something romantic for us, so do it." Bianca lightly glares.
"Everywhere I've suggested hasn't been good enough for you, so how am I meant to win?" Heath moans.
"I'm sorry." Bianca sighs, rubbing a hand over her face. "I'm just stressed out. Anywhere will be good enough for me, as long as I'm there, and you're there. I really need this time away from reality."
"Macguire ain't giving you grief is he?" Heath asks, ready to confront him if he was.
"No, it's just been rumoured that Summer Bay High is going to be merged with Mangrove River High. I haven't heard good things about the principal there, so I'm hoping it doesn't go ahead." Bianca explains.
"You'd still keep your job though, wouldn't you?" Heath frowns.
"I don't know. I'm waiting to hear back from some people to find out if there's any truth to it, so I'll know more then. Just pick anywhere you think will be nice for us, and make sure there's a spa nearby. I really need to destress during the school holiday." Bianca says.
"Right, okay." Heath lightly nods. "I'll look for somewhere when I finish my shift later on."
"Okay." Bianca nods as Casey walks in.
"You're not on shift today." Heath frowns as he reaches the counter.
"I know, I just came to workout or something before Denny's free." Casey mutters.
"Weren't you going to find Kyle to hang out with?" Heath asks.
"Yeah, and I did. Well we did for a few minutes at most. Things went a bit south and he took off." Casey says.
"Went south how?" Heath frowns.
"Well Brax had to give him a second warning for skipping more shifts, and then Kyle brought Phoebe up. I just asked if she was the reason he was wearing a hoodie, and that was the final straw for Kyle. He said something about Phoebe not doing anything to him, and then basically ran out!" Casey explains.
"Have you told Brax about this?" Bianca asks.
"He was there. Brax said to not worry about it but I feel like you're all keeping something from me. What have I missed since moving out?" Casey asks.
"Nothing, we haven't kept anything from you. We're just as in the dark as you." Heath says. "What did Brax say he was going to do about it?"
"Just that he was going to talk to him again. Something's going on between Kyle and Phoebe. He's acting really weird, especially after that day she got home early." Casey says.
"Phoebe wasn't acting normal either." Bianca says. "She came out into the garden that day and told us all to leave. She wasn't even polite about it, especially when she saw Denny."
"Wait, Denny? What happened, I wasn't told anything by her." Casey frowns.
"Nothing happened, we left before it could. Phoebe was just angry about Denny being there and said she wasn't welcome. Denny dealt with it well, and then we went to meet you all at Angelo's." Bianca says.
"Seriously, what's this chick's deal?" Heath shakes his head.
"She's got some issues with certain people, that's for sure. And I don't know how true it is, but I've heard a rumour that she's going to be moving back to Melbourne with Kyle." Bianca says.
"Nah, Kyle wouldn't go with her." Heath shakes his head.
"We've all seen how bossy Phoebe can be, I wouldn't put it past her to be able to convince Kyle to leave with her." Casey says before thinking to himself. "But if he thinks we're against him being with Phoebe, he might eventually choose to go with her."
"So we need to stop making it known that we don't like her." Heath says.
"Well that's going to be easier said than done." Casey rolls his eyes. "She knows we hate her. If we start faking being nice, she's going to get suspicious and I think that will just make things a lot worse."
"But if we don't try, Kyle's going to leave." Heath sighs, not knowing what to do.
"Well I need to get back to work, let me know if anything happens." Bianca says, kissing Heath on the lips before walking out.
"I think we should have a family meeting at some point, with Kyle and Phoebe, so we can talk about all of this. If we all fake our niceness to her in front of Kyle, she can't complain about anything. We'll all be there, so no one can be singled out for anything and Ricky or Bianca could sugar coat things a little so it's more believable." Casey explains.
"You think that could work?" Heath asks. "Maybe she's genuinely struggling to fit in here, Kyle did when he moved from the city."
"So now you're going back on your suspicions as well?" Casey frowns.
"No, I never said that, but we have to give her more time. It took months for Kyle to settle in and feel like he could make a home here, Phoebe might be the same."
"Then explain why Kyle has started acting so weird around her." Casey stares at him, slightly shaking his head. "Those few days Phoebe was in the city for that gig, it was like we had the old Kyle back. He was actually joining us in everything we did, he was smiling for the first time in weeks. Then Phoebe came home early and he instantly changed. You were on our side when that happened, what's changed in so little time?" He asks, confused by his sudden change of attitude towards her.
"I never said anything had changed, but we've hardly given her a chance to prove that she loves Kyle. We thought Kyle was great with Victoria, then she broke up with him. Why can't Kyle be happy with Phoebe instead?" Heath complains, just as Brax walked in looking for them.
"Why are you so ignorant to what could be going on?" Casey hisses. "We did try giving Phoebe a chance but she hardly took it, did she? And can you seriously say Kyle is just as happy with Phoebe than he was with Victoria?"
"Maybe not, but they could be." Heath shrugs.
"Just because you jumped from girl to girl before settling with Bianca, it does not mean Kyle's the same. He loved Victoria and I know he doesn't love Phoebe the same way. If you were to go and side with her, then go ahead, but I will not be so blind to it all." Casey glares.
"What the hell is going on?" Brax frowns from behind them.
"Heath suddenly doesn't think anything is going on with Kyle, but you were there when he snapped at me." Casey says to his eldest brother.
"Yeah, it wasn't like him. I tried looking for him and calling him, but both came up with nothing. Irene said he was at the diner for a bit before Phoebe turned up and they took off." Brax says. "I know I'm not going to get anywhere now, so I'm going to leave it for the day."
"Well maybe you could spend the rest of the day explaining to Heath that our brother is different now and it's got nothing to do with us." Casey says, glaring at Heath before walking out.
"He needs to grow up." Heath shakes his head.
"No, I'm with Casey on this. You weren't there when Kyle snapped at Casey, it wasn't like him. I don't care what the reasons are for you being like this, but Kyle's changed and it's because of Phoebe. Can you honestly say you haven't noticed it either, cause that day Phoebe got back from the city early you were just as confused as we were. Has she got to you, is that it?" Brax asks.
"I never said I was on Phoebe's side, or that's she got to me, I just think there's a simple explanation for all of this." Heath moans, not wanting to admit that he actually hadn't noticed any differences in Kyle's behaviour.
"You keep believing that, but when Kyle's moved back to Melbourne because you wouldn't help us work out what was going on, you'll only have yourself to blame." Brax says before heading back up to Angelo's.
