The LDB Gang. Part 3.
(Before reading, you need to read Part 1 and 2 of Dealing with the aftermath)
While Rory and Logan stood there talking in the kitchen, the gang were on their way up to the apartment.
"You really think Logan and Ror is feeling up for this?" Colin asked while pushing the elevator button.
"Rory said Logan needed this after today. They both need this today." Finn answered while getting on the elevator, together with Stephanie, Rosemary, Colin and Robert.
"Finn's right, we all know what Logan's parents are capable of." Robert said.
"Yeah, they are not fun to be around. They really know how to push Logan down and make him distrust himself." Stephanie said, while getting off the elevator.
They all walked off the elevator and walked towards Rory and Logan's apartment. When they all stood outside the door, Finn knocked. It didn't take long for Rory to answer the door. When she opened the door, and saw all of them she just smiled. She greeted them all and motioned for them to come in. Once inside. Finn was the first to hug her.
"Thank you for coming Finny." Rory whispered in his ear.
"I'm always here for you love." Finn whispered back.
"Thank you all for coming, we really appreciate it." Rory told them.
"You don't need to thank us Ror. Where's Logan?" Colin asked her while hugging her.
"He's just getting changed, he just took a shower before you guys came. He'll be right out." Rory answered him, while hugging the others.
"Should we put everything in the kitchen?" Rosemary asked.
"Sure Rose, just put it in the fridge. You know where everything is." Rory answered her.
"I'll help you and Steph." Colin told Rosemary.
"And I'll go see what's taking Logan so long." Robert told them.
"Thanks Robert." Rory said.
"Come on love, let's go outside on the balcony and talk." Finn told her while grabbing her hand, and lead her towards the balcony.
They walked out on the balcony, and just as Finn had shut the door, Rory broke down crying.
"Oh love, come here." Finn told her while wrapping his arms around her.
"It just hurts to see him like this, I'm so angry at his parents for treating him like that. He doesn't deserve being treated like that." Rory told him while sobbing.
"I don't know why, but the have always treated him this way. Always pushing him, made him do things their way, never believing in him. He has always struggled with his confidence, his mental health. Even though he never really has shown it, it's always been there. Everything changed after college, after you broke up." Finn told her while rubbing her back.
"Changed how?" Rory asked while drying her tears with her sleeve.
"He started showing how he really felt, he started drinking more, distancing himself from everyone. We basically had to force him into talking to a therapist, and it helped. Sure he still had his dark days, but when he had them, he knew how to handle them better than before."Finn told her while sitting down on the couch with Rory, holding both of her hands instead.
"Oh Finn, I never saw it. I never noticed it, I could have helped him." Rory told him while still crying. He told me a little about it back when we first had started seeing each other again, he was afraid that I would leave him if he had told me. I would never had left him if he had told me." Rory told him.
"I know love, Logan knows that too. Things happened that neither of you could have foreseen. He is doing better than before and that is because he has you in his life again. You were the one who made him feel safe and made him believe in himself more than before."Finn told her while rubbing his thumb over her hand.
"I'm just worried about him. I saw how he reacted when we left his parents. I wanted to scream at Mitchum and Shira to shut up. They know how Logan is, they know how to just push his buttons and make him feel even more bad about himself." Rory told him while leaning her head on Finn's shoulder.
"I'm always here for you and Logan, we all are. You'll call me before doing anything stupid and I'll help you." Finn told her while nudging her.
"Thank you Finny, and yes I'll call before I'll do anything stupid." Rory said while smiling.
"You're feeling better?" Finn asked.
"Yeah, I guess. We should get back inside, thank you Finn." Rory thanked him while kissing him on the cheek.
They got up from the couch and walked back inside. Once inside, Rory walked over to the couch where Logan were sitting.
"Hey you, how are you feeling?" Rory whispered to him.
"I'm okay, are you?" Logan whispered back.
"I'm getting there, today has been rough. But I will be fine Logan, I'm more worried about you." Rory told him while putting her arm around his waist and laying her head on his shoulder.
"Ace, I'm fine. I promise you." Logan told her while kissing the top of her head.
"Even if you say that you are, it's okay not to be fine." Rory told him.
"I know Ace, I'm trying to tell myself that." Logan told her.
"Love you." Rory told him.
"And I love you." Logan told her.
"So guys, how does it feel being married?" Stephanie asked, feeling this would be a good time trying to change the subject.
"It feels strange, but I would not change it for the world." Logan answered while looking over at Rory.
"I could not agree more." Rory said while kissing Logan on the lips.
"How did your parents take the news?" Robert asked.
"They did not take it well, but you know what they're like." Rory answered before Logan got the chance.
"We all know very well what they're like. It's their way or no way." Colin said.
"Now let's change the subject, I brought food and alcohol so that we could think about anything but Mitchum and Shira. Ror, could you help me in the kitchen?" Finn told them while getting up from the couch.
"Sure, Finn. What did you bring?" Rory asked while kissing Logan on the lips before getting up from the couch.
"I brought a fruit platter and a cheese platter, and of course wine and some champagne." Finn answered her while walking towards the kitchen.
"Why champagne?" Rory asked while walking after him.
"Because you and Logan were married three days ago, and I'm taking every excuse to drink champagne and celebrate. Now where are your champagne glasses Ror?" Finn answered her while opening one of the cabinets.
"You really didn't have to do that, Finn, but thank you. They're in the upper cabinet to your left." Rory answered him while taking out the platters out of the fridge.
"And I thought that after the day you had, you really could use a glass or two." Finn told her while taking down the champagne glasses and the wine glasses.
"Yeah, you're right. We really needed this, Logan needs this." Rory told him while taking out some plates, silverware.
Rory were just about to call after Robert, and ask if he could help. But before she had the opportunity Robert walked into the kitchen.
"Do you need some help Ror?" Robert asked while entering the kitchen.
"You have the perfect timing Robert, I was just about to ask you for help." Rory answered him.
"What do you want me to take?" Robert asked.
"You could take one of the platters and then the wine, and champagne." Rory answered him while taking the other platter, and walked out to the living room.
Finn took the wine and champagne glasses.
They all walked into the living room, where the others were waiting. Finn put down the glasses on the table and opened the champagne bottle, and poured it into the glasses. Everyone took a glass.
"I would like to propose a toast to Logan and Rory for finally getting married and shoving it to Mitchum and Shira." Finn said while raising his glass, to Logan and Rory.
"Thanks Finny, and thank you to all of you, for being here. For supporting us through all of this." Rory told them while taking a sip from her glass.
"We are always here for each other, no matter what." Colin said while drinking from his glass.
"Always." They all said at the same time.
"Have you told your grandparents yet Ror?" Stephanie asked.
"I haven't done it yet, but it is just a matter of time before they call. I wouldn't be surprised if Mitchum and Shira manage to tell them before I have the time." Rory answered Stephanie.
"Yeah, it's just a matter of time." Logan said while drinking from his glass.
"I don't really care what grandma and grandpa thinks, the only thing that matters is that you and I are together." Rory told Logan while grabbing his hand.
"Yeah, you're right Ace." Logan said.
"So when is the honeymoon?" Robert asked Logan.
"I have it planned, we just have to find the time. So much is happening right now, but as soon as everything has calmed down, I'm taking my wife on a honeymoon." Logan answered Robert while looking at Rory.
"I trust you babe, you've planned great trips." Rory told him.
"Well not that's not really true, there was one trip that didn't work out." Finn said.
"The trip we don't talk about." Rory said while trying to push back her tears.
"Oh love, I'm sorry. I shouldn't had said anything. I know how you still feel about that trip." Finn apologized while he hurried over to Rory's side and gave her a hug.
"It's okay Finn, I guess it still brings up bad memories.. I hated the way I treated you and Colin at the hospital. And don't even get me started on how Mitchum and Shira acted." Rory said while leaning into Finn's hug.
"Me and Colin, never blamed you for what happened at the hospital. We were all in shock about what happened." Finn told her while whipping her tears.
"I should have listened to you, when you told me your concerns when we were planning the trip. But we were fighting, I screwed up. Things were strained between us before the trip."Logan told her while grabbing her hand and kissed it.
"Logan, I never blamed you for anything that happened. Sure, I was hurt by everything that happened. I didn't think the trip was the best idea but I knew that there was no chance of me stopping you from going on that trip. As you said "A team of psychiatrists with tranquilizer guns couldn't have stopped me." "Rory told him while smiling a little.
"I can't believe that you remember that Ace. It was so many years ago, and you still remember it. You never cease to amaze me. I love you so much." Logan told her while pulling her into a kiss.
"I love you too Logan, and of course I still remember it. That was one of the worst days of my life. I was so scared that I would lose you." Rory told him while leaning into him.
"I was scared too, even though I might not have shown it, but I was. But I would not have gotten through it without you by my side." Logan told her.
"We were young and dumb. We will never do something that stupid again." Colin said.
"Well never say never." Robert said while smiling.
"Never something as stupid as jumping out of a plane." Stephanie said while looking at the boys.
"No Steph." All four boys said at the same time.
"Good." Stephanie said.
An hour later, the gang had all said their goodbyes and promised to see each other soon again. Finn had told Rory that he would call the next day.
"Hey babe, I was thinking that we need to get away for a few days. So I thought we could go and visit my parents for a few days?" Rory asked Logan while putting the glasses in the dishwasher.
"Yeah we could, can you get time off work?" Logan asked while sitting down by the kitchen island.
"I have a few vacation days to use, and if I need it, I can always work in Stars Hollow. How about you, can you get time off?" Rory told him.
"Yeah, I can get off work. I really don't care about what dad thinks, I need to get away from my parents." Logan said.
"You need this babe, just to get away from your parents and everything. All the stress that these past few months has brought." Rory told him while placing her hands on Logan's shoulders.
"I know you're right Ace, I need to get away with you." Logan told her while kissing her hand.
"Great, I'll call mom and let her know." Rory told him.
