Chapter 20
Darcy
Darcy House
Bright warm sun danced in front of my eyelids and voices murmured around me. Something was calling me back home.
Though in a strange way it felt like I was now leaving home. My heart pained at the thought of being separated from them again. But I knew we had to go back to the rest of our family and friends.
I cracked open my blurry eyes and saw several figures around me. As my eyes began to clear, I could see I was in my room, more specifically in my bed. I felt something warm gripping my hand and looked down to see my beloved Elizabeth asleep beside me. Her delicate hand tucked perfectly in mine. As it always should be. I smiled fondly down at her as I watched her gorgeous peaceful self.
"Darcy, my man! You are awake!" Charles shouted and swiftly came to my side.
Several others filled my bedside smiling with glee. Though they all moved aside when Georgie pushed her way through.
"William! You are ok! You came back to us!!!" Georgie knelt down beside the bed and flung herself towards me. Sobbing into my side.
"Shhh… sweetheart. All is well, Georgie. I'm fine." I stroked the top of her head, hoping to help calm her. She eventually looked up, tears glistening in her eyes and a smile peaking through.
"I knew you would come back to us!" Georgie's smile calmed my heart, leaving that dream world was hard. But being here with Georgie and the rest of our family is where we need to be.
"How long have we been out?" I wondered just how long we had put them through this worry and fear.
"Three long days." Charles said while running his hand through his hair. A gesture that always made him look more boy then man, with his hair disheveled and sticking up in every direction.
"It's only been three days?" I furrowed my brows in confusion. "It felt more like a month that we were there!"
My words must have been surprising, since everyone looked at me and each other with strange looks.
"What do you mean brother? Who is 'we'? And where is 'there'?" Georgie said with a raised eyebrow. She let out a small laugh after, knowing her question sounded so strange.
I sat up in the bed and rested my back on the headboard. My attention was drawn towards Elizabeth again. I held her hand tighter. Wondering why we did not come back at the same time.
"I will explain everything, but first I must wake Elizabeth. I am unsure why we did not wake up at the same time."
Everyone in the room echoed their understanding and I focused on Elizabeth and our connection.
My love, it's time to come back now. Our family and friends need us in the present.
I waited impatiently as silence hung in the air. Typically even when she was not speaking with me in our connection I could feel her Aura. But there was nothing. Only silence filled my thoughts. Heartbreaking silence.
My heart began to beat uncontrollably as true fear filled my thoughts. Of all the times that I had thought I lost her since we first met, we had always had that connection. And now it's just gone.
Just moments ago I was there, sitting beside her. Watching her interact and get to know them. Her beautiful green eyes sparkled as they laughed loudly together.
Then I am suddenly forced awake. Alone. What if she never comes to? What if the rest of my life I am forced to live out my days without my other half? Surely I will go mad!
I felt a hand on my shoulder and looked up to see Sabastian looking down at me with a calm face. "It will be well Darcy. If you woke back up, she will too. Like Adam said you both gave of yourselves completely to rid us of the Dark Mage Power. Your bodies were almost fully drained of energy. Elizabeth must need extra time to heal. Don't give up hope just yet."
Sabastians words calmed me slightly. Helping me not to hyperventilate. But the thought of never being with her again terrified me.
I tried to reach out to her over and over again. But there was nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Kitty handed me a glass of water and asked if I wanted anything else. I shook my head no. I knew my face must have looked menacing from her expression. But I couldn't worry about that now.
My thoughts ran over everything. From the end of the Mage Battle. To holding Elizabeth's hand in triumph. To appearing in that strange world and seeing… no that could not have been real. That had to have been a dream. To now being back at Darcy House in my bedroom, with my love beside me. Oh how I dreamt of this day when we would share this bed together. But not like this, never like this!
Suddenly my thoughts stuck on something Sabastian said.
"Did you say Adam? Do you know the Professor?" I looked to Sabastian and to the others in the room, who all had matching wide smiles on their faces.
"I reached out to my Aunt Gardiner and her father Adam, overheard our conversation. He came quickly to help. We originally had Lizzy in the Mistress suite, but he told us that to help heal, you would need to be right next to each other. He left us just a few minutes ago." Jane said with a bewildered look on her face.
I smiled at the thought of the eccentric old man. I'm sure he caused quite the stir in propriety demanding Elizabeth be in my bed. But I am beyond thankful for that man. He continues to save us over and over again.
I nodded my head in understanding towards Jane. So Adam was just here and moved us closer together. Maybe it won't be too long after all that Elizabeth will awaken.
I took a deep breath and looked around at everyone in the room. Mary, Kitty and Jane were near Elizabeth on the other side of the bed. Jane's weary face smiled at me weakly. Dark circles etched under her eyes told me she most likely had gotten very little sleep the last few days. I looked to the occupants towards my side of the bed. Sabastian, Georgie and Charles. All looking just as weary as Jane.
I noticed then that we were missing two people. I looked to Sabastian with concern. "Where is Fitz? Is he ok? Have you not found Lydia?"
"He has been searching for Lydia since the battle ended. But mother just let me know that he has a lead. He found a hidden staircase and believes she has been hidden under the Capitol main offices." Sabastian said, surprising not just me but everyone in the room. Gasps filled the air. Mary was at Sebastian's side in seconds taking his hand in hers. They didn't say anything out loud, but shared a look that I was very familiar with.
"That is great to hear. Hopefully we will all be together soon." I said moving closer to Elizabeth and pressing my palm to the side of her face. I closed my eyes, imagining her leaning into it as she always does.
I focused in on her, and could almost see her Aura, feel her warmth and her delicate cheek nuzzle into my palm.
But it wasn't until I heard her contented sigh, that my eyes snapped open. Her bright emerald eyes were shining up at me.
"Elizabeth." Her name came out in a whisper as I took in her smiling face. "Oh my love, thank God you made it back to us!" I leaned over and kissed her temple.
She smiled at me with a quizzical look on her face. But it was quickly replaced with wide smiles for her sisters. Jane, Kitty and Mary clung tightly to her. Tears streaming down their faces.
"Oh Lizzy! We thought you would never return to us. We were so scared!" Kitty exclaimed. Elizabeth reassured them all with hugs for each of them.
Elizabeth looked towards me with a soft smile, then caught sight of Georgie past me. She held her hand out towards Georgie with a bright smile encouraging her to come to her. Georgie wasted no time, rushing to her side. My heart tightened, as I watched my two favorite women embrace.
"Oh Lizzy! We are so thankful you have come back to us!" Lizzy reached up to Georgies face and wiped a tear away.
"No need for tears my dear sisters. We are all here" Elizabeth's voice caught in her throat. Just noticing the loss of Lydia and Fitz. "Is Lydia still missing? Where is Richard?" Her face changed from happy to worried in seconds.
"Sabastian just informed us that Richard thinks he has found Lydia, but he is still rescuing her." Mary placed a hand of comfort on Elizabeth's arm as she caught her up on all that has happened over the past three days ending with the visit from Adam.
I smiled at how everyone has finally dropped the use of proper names between our two families. Through everything that has happened we are no longer merely acquaintances, we are family.
Elizabeth smiled at the comical musings about Adam. In the middle of everyone pitching in with their thoughts, I felt her squeeze my hand.
Are you ok Fitzwilliam?
I looked towards Elizabeth and smirked. No one would ever have an idea that she was connecting with me, by the way she was engaging with everyone else in the room.
Yes my love. You scared me for a minute, I was worried you weren't going to wake up. I couldn't connect with you. It was terrifying.
She looked over at me in concern. Ignoring what was being said around her.
"You couldn't hear me? I could hear you. It's what brought me back. I'm not sure I could have left without you calling me back." Elizabeth said out loud causing everyone to look back and forth between us with confused looks. Elizabeth leaned towards me and rubbed my hand that she was still holding with her other hand.
"Was it real? Did we really see them? Or was I just dreaming." I asked Elizabeth with wide eyes.
"I'm not sure if it was a dream world or what, but we indeed saw them." Elizabeth said bursting with excitement as we both thought through all we saw.
"Can one of you please explain what's going on?" Georgie stood straight up and pointed between the both of us. Letting out a huff of frustration.
"I apologize Georgiana, as soon as the Mage battle ended we awoke in another world. In this strange world your parents were there. We spent many days enjoying their company. We must have been there for several weeks." I watched as Elizabeth processed it all. "But Mary, you just explained that we have only been asleep for three days, so that can not be."
Georgie clung to us both. "You saw mother and father? How is that possible?"
I shrugged my shoulders. Unsure of what was real and what wasn't.
"We do not know. But it was lovely to get to know them. They are truly some of the most genuine and kind people I have ever met." Elizabeth said while squeezing both my arm and Georgie's.
My eyes became heavy and I tried hard to fight off sleep.
"Maybe it's time we let you rest." Sabastian said while trying to get everyone's attention to swiftly leave the room.
My hand shot out from under the covers as Elizabeth tried to get off the bed.
"What are you doing my love? Where are you going?" I gently held her arm, stopping her from her mission.
"I should give you rest and go back to the mistress suite. Now that I am awake it is improper that I stay in here." Jane and Kitty began to help gather a blanket around Elizabeth and stood her up off the bed.
A aggravated rumble, vibrated the bed. Making my frustration clear. "Elizabeth, I wish never to be parted from you. Please." I begged her.
She shook her head with a laugh. "Oh Fitzwilliam! As soon as I become Mrs. Darcy you will never be able to get rid of me. Take the break while you can."
"Someone please contact the closest clergyman to Darcy house. It's time to make this woman mine forever!" I yelled loudly for the whole house to hear me.
Elizabeth just continued to laugh and disappeared into the other room with Jane and Kitty helping her and Mary following behind them.
"She believes I am joking but I tell you three, I am completely serious. As soon as we are strong enough, Elizabeth will be my wife!" Amused laughs came from Sabastian and Charles, while Georgie stared at me with wide surprised eyes. I must seem like a foreign person to her. Her serious, stoic brother would never act so. But that was before my soulmate captured my heart and showed me a love I had never known. For Elizabeth Darcy will be by my side as soon as possible.
Fitz
Matlock Secret Hideaway
I followed the steps deeper and deeper into the dank darkness. It felt like the stairs went on forever, sinking further and further underground. When I finally reached the bottom all I could see was a long hallway ahead. The hallway was lined with large gray stones and the floor was covered in a thick layer of dirt. An ominous feeling lingered in the air. As if something was about to happen any second. My battle gifts were on full alert. Ready to strike at any moment.
As I took a step into the hallway, something behind me lurched toward me out of the darkness. They might have actually gotten a piece of me if they were not yelling like a banshee and alerting me of their presence before they could touch me. I quickly grabbed the attacker and threw them over my shoulder to the ground in front of me. I pushed my boot into their chest to make sure they stayed down.
The man was covered in dirt all over him and smelled horridly fowl. As if he had to relieve himself multiple times on his person. If I had not faced many battles and was well trained to handle putrid smells, I would be gagging right now.
"Wickham!" A snarl ripped from my lips as his familiar face came into view. Not only was this the man that tried to ruin my family, now he had tried to harm my soulmate. Every ounce in my being wanted to rip him apart limb from limb. But I knew he might be my only way of finding Lydia in this underground maze.
I noticed Wickhams wide hollowed eyes and crazed stare. His normally clean shaven face had a beard that was at least a few days old. His hair stuck up in all kinds of directions. He barely resembled the man I once knew.
"Tell me where she is now!" I growled in Wickhams face, not holding back my rage. A small flicker of understanding flashed on his face. But it had gone back to the crazed look from before in mere seconds. With both hands fisted near his shirt collar, I gave him a forceful shake. When that didn't seem to snap him out of his madness, I performed a truth spell on him. One we used often in my line of work.
After saying the spell, I asked him again slowly. Holding his disgusting face inches from mine. "Where the blast is Miss Lydia?" When Wickham let out a high pitched laugh, I thought for sure I was going to snap his neck from frustration.
Finally he held his hand up pointing down the endless dark hallway. I let go of him and gestured for him to lead the way. Thank goodness he was in his right mind enough to understand me, at least I hoped he did.
I followed him down the hallway for what felt like half an hour. It seemed to go on forever, never turning one way or another. Just continually straight. Nothing but stone lined the walls. Not even one door. The whole thing was just stone and dirt surrounding them. If Wickham had been trapped down here since the battle, which is what it looks like, then I can understand why he would start to go mad.
Wickham stopped abruptly and stared at a section of the stone wall. For a minute I thought for sure Wickham had finally lost it. The wall looked exactly like the same stone pattern we had seen the whole journey up to this point. That was until I noticed a darker smudge on the corner of a stone that was placed about my height. I held the fireball close up to the smudge and just like before I could see the faint indentation of the Fitzwilliam crest. Before I rubbed my thumb over the crest, I froze Wickham in place. Who knew what insane thing he might do when he saw Lydia again.
I turned back towards the crest and pushed my thumb into it, just as I did with the one we found in the fountain. Suddenly the stones began to separate. Before I could even make out what was past the opening, a tiny figure bounced into my arms.
"Richard! Oh I knew you could find me!" I clung tight to the bundle in my arms, still not fully wrapping my brain around the fact that I actually found her. I let out a long breath and held her tighter to my chest.
"Lydia." I sat her back down on the ground and pulled back to look into her bright eyes. They glistened from tears, but as beautiful as always. I brushed away a few tears that had fallen down her cheeks and smiled down at her.
Before either of us could speak a searing pain started on the skin near my heart. Lydia's eyes went wide and my hand flew to the area.
"Was that…"
"Our Mage Soulmark." We said at the same time. Lydia's face broke out in a huge smile and a giggle escaped her lips.
"It's true then we truly are Mage Soulmates." Lydia said, barely holding back her excitement.
I couldn't contain the smile that took over my face. I pulled her back into a hug and swung her around in circles. Lifting her off the ground.
Lydia squealed in delight and we both laughed till I finally put her back down.
Wickham's frozen shadow at the stone opening caught my attention. Reminding me of his revolting presence.
Lydia followed my scowl as it landed on the detestable creature that brought her to this horrid place. I could feel red hot anger flood through her. Her power was so strong she could end his life in seconds if she wanted to.
I watched as she marched over to Wickham's frozen body and slapped him hard across his face.
She pulled her hand back, about to incinerate him with a massive fireball. I gently placed a hand on her shoulder and whispered in her ear.
"As lovely as it would be to watch you destroy the Slime Sack, as you perfectly named him, a fireball to the chest will be too easy of a punishment for him. He will rot in jail for many years thinking about how he tried to destroy my soulmate and family's life!" With a huff Lydia stepped back from Wickham. "Let us take him to the Jail now and be rid of him. No longer a worry in our lives." She nodded in agreement.
I transported the three of us to the holding cells located above us in the Capitol Main Offices. The jailer was quick to lock him up.
I took in a long deep breath knowing that man could no longer harm anyone I cared for. It was time to look to the future. I linked my arm with Lydia's as we stepped outside of the Jailing area.
"Would it be completely improper if we were to see what our Soulmark looks like now? I am horribly impatient as you are well aware." Lydia said, bouncing on the balls of her feet with a giddy smile.
I laughed and shook my head at my little spit fire. How quickly her thoughts had moved from disgusting Wickham to us as Soulmates. As if nothing disturbing had just occurred.
"How about I get you back to your sisters and you can happily discover what it is in the privacy of your room and I in mine." I winked at her and she seemed a tad disappointed, but agreed to my terms.
We might be Mage Soulmates, but keeping our heads for a couple years will be best. I can only imagine keeping Lydia Bennet from something she wants is near impossible. Thank goodness I am well trained in warfare. As I watched her bright eyes full of excitement and mischief, I chuckled to myself. "Challenge accepted".
Elizabeth
Darcy House
I looked around the mistress suite. It was a beautiful large room, with gorgeous pieces and ornate carvings into the furniture. Maybe a little too much for my more natural taste, but it was lovely all the same. Now after spending time with Fitzwilliams mother, I can see it fits her perfectly.
It was so hard to leave that world, but I knew it was time to come back home, to be with my family and with Fitzwilliam to start our lives together.
Leaving his actual side in his bed was even harder. But the small scrap of propriety that we had left needed to stay intact. My sisters had helped me wash up and find a fresh nightgown for me. I tried to refuse and put on a day gown, stating that I was fine and ready to get up. But just as I was about to refuse, my eyes began to droop and a long yawn escaped my mouth. I had to face the facts that I was still so weary.
I relented and laid back down. I ended up falling asleep quickly into a deep sleep.
I awoke to Jane, Kitty and Mary happily chatting beside me. As soon as my eyes began to flutter open, all three of them rushed to my side. Excitement pulsating around them.
"If one of you doesn't explain what's got everyone so excited in the next second I am going to singe your hair off! Don't test me dear sisters, you know I'll do it!" I grumbled as the deep sleep blurred my vision, making me blink till it was finally clear.
They all giggled at my antics knowing I would never truly do such a thing, not now that I was grown. I can't say my young self was as kind.
"Charles and Jane are getting married!" Kitty blurted out.
Jane's face was picturesque, she was practically glowing from happiness.
I jumped out of bed into her arms. "Oh Janey! I am so happy for you!" I hugged her tight, feeling her love and excitement course through me.
"Oh Lizzy! I couldn't believe it! We were taking a stroll through the gardens and all of a sudden he stopped and told me he had loved me from the first moment we met!" Joy spilled out from Jane's eyes onto her cheeks. "Can you believe it Lizzy?"
I let out a laugh. "Oh my unassuming, immensely sweet sister, you are the only person in this home that could not see how madly in love Charles Bingley is with you!"
Jane's cheeks went red, but nothing could stop the huge smile on her face.
"It's true Jane. The man is always making doe eyes at you. It's too sweet. I am so happy for you Jane!" Kitty leaned over and gave Jane a huge squeeze. "But I'm vexed with all of you leaving me! And now with Lydia and Richard being Mage Soulmates, she will eventually marry him and I will be all alone!" Kitty sat back down with an exaggerated huff. She said it with a smile, but I can see she was truly struggling with all of the change.
"Kitty you said 'all of us' do you mean…" I looked over at Mary quizzically who had her nose in a book. Jane caught on and observed her as well. With all eyes on her, eventually the corners of her mouth turned up.
"Ok. Ok. Sabastian told me he loved me and asked me to marry him after we got back from the Mage battle. We didn't want to say anything until Lizzy woke up and Lydia was found. I should have known you wouldn't be able to keep your promise Catherine Bennet!" Mary pointed her finger at Kitty, she was unable to say anything else when all of us jumped to our feet to give Mary a hug. Giggles and tears erupting from us all.
"Mary! I can't believe you didn't tell us!" Jane admonished. Trying to sound upset, but failing miserably from her never ending grin.
"I am beyond happy for you Mary. You and Sabastian seem to be completely perfect for eachother. But I want to know what exactly you had to bribe Kitty with that she was able to hold that huge secret in this long?" I asked mischievously. As we all know Kitty can never keep a secret for the life of her.
Mary smiled, opened her mouth to speak then stopped herself.
Kitty shot up quickly with her hands up. "Ok! I will explain." Kitty fiddled with her hands nervously. "I was in the room when Sabastian professed his love to Mary because…" she fiddled some more, then mumbled. "Because they are teaching me alchemy." Kitty looked down, thoroughly embarrassed.
Jane and I shared a confused look.
"And she likes it so much that she wants to read about it all the time and learn as much as she can. She had been hiding in the corner reading when Sabastian opened up to me. We didn't know she was there till she started giggling when we… well you know." Mary turned red and we couldn't help the matching bright smiles we had to see her so happy.
Kitty quickly went back to looking embarrassed. I looked back at Jane still confused. Jane could only shrug her shoulders.
"Kitty, whats the issue? That sounds wonderful that you have become so interested in that. You have been searching for so long for a direction." I placed my hand on hers and pushed comfort and understanding into her.
Kitty looked up at me and gave me a small smile.
"I know. It's just that for so long I complained about learning about Mage gifts and how annoyed I was with it. Then when Collins forced you unconscious with the black smoke, I saw how Mary and Sabastian figured out so much through their research. All of a sudden it became very intriguing to me. I became obsessed with learning more. It was so different from my normal carefree silly way of life that I thought all of you would think I had turned into Mary or something!" Kitty said, throwing her hands up in frustration. Then immediately looked contrite and wanted to take back her last words. "Not like that's a bad thing! I didn't mean it that way." Kitty rushed to Mary's side hoping to have not offended her.
Mary let out a small laugh and patted Kitty's hand. "Not a problem Kit. I am well aware how different we all are. But it's been a true delight to watch your interest grow." Mary smiled genuinely at Kitty and my heart squeezed with happiness.
I looked at my lovely sisters and a pang of sadness hit me. "If only Lydia were here! Have you guys heard anything new? Anything from Richard?" They all three shook their heads. Sadness filling the air.
Right on cue, a knock sounded at the door. Jane quickly stood to open it.
Before she could open it. Lydia's voice filled our thoughts.
I know all of you are in there! Let me in before I blow Darcy's beautiful door to bits!
All of us rushed to the door laughing, full of joy.
As soon as Jane yanked the door open, we rushed to Lydia. All piling into her arms.
"Oh Lydi! You are ok!"
"You made it out of there!"
"Thank God you are ok!"
"We were so worried!"
We all spoke at the same time, overjoyed to finally be all together again.
We stood there for a long moment, wrapped in eachothers arms. Soaking up the love between us. Feeling our sisterly bond strengthen with every second we were in each other's presence.
Finally we pulled back and took in the sight of Lydia. Her skin was sunken and pale, her hair fully down in knots and her dress was covered in dirt.
Jane took her hand and sat her on the bed and we all huddled around her.
"Oh Lydia, we were so worried. Were you terrified? Did they hurt you?" Jane asked, placing her hand on her shoulder. Most likely calming Lydia with her Mage gift, reminding her she was safe now.
Lydia shook her head no. "Thankfully all they did was lock me in a room. I only saw Wickham every once in a while when he would drop food off before the battle. He never said anything. Just dropped the food off and stared at me like he was looking through me. It was like he was hypnotized. Then right before the battle he dropped off a large basket full of food. I didn't see him again till Richard found me. Wickham looked terrible, he had been stuck down there and had gone half mad. I was beyond relieved when I saw Richard."
A smile slowly began to form on Lydia's face and a happy sigh escaped her lips.
I shared a knowing look with Mary and Jane. She was completely and utterly taken with Richard Fitzwilliam.
"Oh Lydi! I can't believe you and Richard are Soulmates!" Kitty exclaimed with a giggle and clap of her hands.
Lydia jumped up with excitement. "I know! Oh that reminds me!" She ran over to the looking glass and pulled down her dress to reveal the skin above her heart. I knew immediately what she was looking for. My heart warmed for her and we all saw the beautiful outline of her Soulmark. Right where Darcy and I have ours.
"Oh Lydi! It's perfect!" Kitty exclaimed as she walked up closer to inspect it.
It was a bird with its wings open wide. Every feather was outlined with thick lines. The mark looked strong and protective. Just like both Richard and Lydia.
Lydia giggled to herself and then let out a loud laugh. From the look on her face, Richard and her must be discussing their Soulmark.
How are you feeling, love? How Darcy's words can give me warm chills every time is beyond me.
I am doing very well. How about yourself?
Rested and missing you. His words sent a zing straight to my heart. Would you be up for taking a walk with me?
That sounds like a lovely idea. Maybe I can see if my sisters would like a walk as well.
I think I know some men who would be very happy with their company. I could hear the smile in his voice.
"Darcy just asked if we wanted to take a walk. Would you all like to join us?" I said to all my sisters.
Jane and Mary let out a soft laugh.
"I was just asked the same thing." Jane said with a bright smile.
"And I." Mary said with a shake of her head and a soft chuckle.
"It sounds like fun, but I am in a desperate need of a bath. If I never see this dress again, that's fine with me." Lydia said looking disgustingly at her tattered dress.
"I'll stay and help." Kitty said to Lydia. Looking like they were ready to have a loud giggle filled conversation on their own.
Jane, Mary and I headed towards the door, but was surprised to find Georgiana on the other side just about to knock.
"Hello! I was busy with the housekeeper when Richard and Lydia arrived. I have yet to see her." Georgiana looked around the three of us for Lydia.
"She is getting cleaned up. But you should come join me Georgie. We have to get her looking like her normal self again before she sees Richard later." Kitty had come up to Georgiana and linked her arm in hers. They disappeared into the other room down the hall.
We all laughed at their silliness and made our way down the stairs.
The sight that greeted us all took our breath away. Three very happy gorgeous men awaited us in the foyer.
Jane and Charles led the way out to the courtyard, with Mary and Sabastian following right behind.
Darcy linked his arm through mine and drew me close to him. "You look lovely my dear." He whispered lightly in my ear and placed a soft kiss on my temple.
We followed behind the others at an easy going pace. Much slower than my usual walks, but I didn't mind with Darcy by my side.
"So the three of us men came to the conclusion a little bit ago that we all seem to be in the same predicament." He said with a smug look on his face.
"Is that so?" I said with a cock of my head and a fake surprised face. One he easily could see through.
"And from the excited squeals and giggles we heard from upstairs, I am guessing you all came to the same conclusion." He raised an eyebrow at me and I tried to stifle a laugh. He was just too adorable when he did that.
"Hmmm. We might have heard something." I said in agreement.
"Well we were discussing our similar situations and we all three would like to be married to a Bennet sister as soon as possible. But we wondered if it would save us all time, if we all celebrated on the same day." He said with a hopeful look on his face.
My eyes shot up to his, a surprised gasp escaped my mouth.
Seconds later I heard echoing gasps from both my sisters. I looked over at each couple. Jane and Mary looked between us with bright smiles on their faces. I shrugged my shoulders. Asking them without speaking. Jane nodded excitedly and Mary nodded with a tight smile. I gave them a final nod and grabbed Darcy's hand.
I pulled him to the side of the house where no one else could see us. As soon as we were hidden away I wrapped my arms around him. He chuckled in my ear as he drew me in close.
"Does that mean you like my plan?" He said looking down at me with eyes full of love.
I smiled brightly up at him. "Oh Fitzwilliam, I love your plan. It's perfect."
He leaned down and kissed me softly. I felt his love for me radiate through him into me. His lips met mine again this time filled with passion and desire. I could not wait to be his fully, to be his wife.
Eventually he pulled back and rested his forehead on mine.
Together forever my love
Together forever.
