Notes: Another part with Juliet and Lucas's first night home.

"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine…" Michael gently kisses Jules as he paces the bedroom floor while Sandy rocks Lucas. It is the middle of the night, and the two infants were woken up for their routine feeding.

This is a big adjustment for the old-but-new parents. Normally, the baby will wake the parents when they are hungry; for preemies, their body's hungry cues may not be enough to wake them up.

Hence, Sandy and Michael setting an alarm and having to do it the opposite.

This is also why Kenneth is staying with them; Karen went back to Philly to take care of her and Ken's daughters, who are still in school.

"You're going to grow up to be big and strong, my love." He hears Sandy coo to Lucas as she packs up his formula. "You can do anything you want."

He smiles to himself, looking down at Jules as she eagerly suckles the bottle.

"You're both going to grow up so loved by your brothers and sisters. Jenny will come home… and you three will join us on vacations…" He places the bottle down, moving Juliet to his shoulder to burp her.

"We'll go to the beach, and camping, and to the Zoo. Oh, listen to that! What a big girl." Michael rocks Juliet to sleep, humming an old lullaby he used back when Emma was just an infant.

Sandy did the same with Lucas, cooing and shushing him before she packed everything away and rocked him in the second chair.

Once the infants are asleep, Sandy crawls into bed and falls into a deep sleep immediately. Michael does his usual rounds down the hallway to check on their older kids.

The boys sleep in the oddest positions, he thinks as he sees Elijah twisted in the sheets, and Gabe and Caleb hanging off their beds.

The girls are more normal; Michael tucked them in, and now they are snuggly wrapped up in their respective comforters and sheets. He glances to his right; the nightlight is lit-up. Emma complains daily about it. I'm older now, the preteen has said. I don't need a nightlight!

Michael quietly closes the door and goes back to his own bedroom. He checks on Jules and Luke, and looks at that third, empty bassinet.

He hopes, soon, a certain blonde-haired, greyish-blue eyed baby girl will join her brother and sister in that little bed. He thinks the sooner Jenny comes home, the quicker Sandy can begin bonding with their youngest daughter.

Soon, he promises himself, climbing into bed next to his wife. They will have all three of their babies home, safe and sound.
