I love Steve so much, waiting for updates from others is killing me. So I decided to continue my own story. I hope you will follow me on my journey.

Lea 1

Nahélé had been living with Steve for just over six months. He was a good boy, but lately he seemed to want to test his tutor's limits.

"Nahélé, I received another call from your high school, did you miss class again today? It's twice this week!"

"It's good, no one was going there!"

"I don't care about others, I'm talking about you."

"What do you want me to tell you?"

"I'm going to tell you something and I want you to listen because I'm not repeating myself."

"Very well..." replied the teenager, rolling his eyes with attitude.

"Stop the attitude young man, I'm angry enough already!" You know what? You can go to bed right after dinner."

"What? I'm fifteen, not five!"

"I know exactly how old you are, so act like one!"

"You are not fair!"

"So for your attitude, you go to bed right after dinner, and for missing school, you get punished for a week. Restricted phone, no TV, no computer except for homework, no outings, and no friends."

" What? You can not! I have Tony's party on Saturday night!"

"You should have thought of that before you skipped school."

"You are not fair!"

"I think I'm more than fair. If you miss high school again this semester, that's a spanking, am I being perfectly clear?"

"What? You are being unreasonable!"

Steve raised an eyebrow, he was losing patience here! "Do you want to do two weeks?"

"No!"

"Go to your room, before things get worse, you will stay there until dinner."

At dinner, Nahélé had calmed down.

"I'm sorry," he said.

"Apologies-accepted, I appreciate it." answered the man.

"Can't you reconsider?"

"No, the punishment is there, I do not change my mind. I advise you to be assiduous from now on."

"Yes sir."

"Come here, son." When Nahélé approached, he hugged him.

"Learn from your mistakes and start over. Dinner over? In bed with you."

"Yes sir," said the child with tears in his eyes, but Steve maintained the punishment.

The next day, Danny found Steve worried.

"What's up, Superman? You want to talk about it?"

"You know me well, it's Nahélé, he's testing me, I don't want to be too harsh," Steve told his friend what had happened.

"You're fair. You're strict with Grace and she adores you. I'll tell you something else, he trusts you enough to test you, like any teenager. You forgot when the kid was asking permission to open the fridge? Shit, he even asked permission to pee!"

"Yes, I remember. It seems so long ago."

"Not that much. You are a wonderful father Steve, you saved this kid, and he will grow into a wonderful man like you, through your limits and consequences, trust your instincts."

"Thank you, Dano".

The H 5-0 was called in a double homicide case.

"What do we have"? Steve asked Max, the medical examiner.

"A white woman in her 30s and an Asian man in his 30s. The man bears the marks of severe beatings to the head and chest. Both were eliminated with a bullet to the head at close range. They had no chance."

"Chief?" Kono called.

Steve walked over to her.

"Yes?" She showed him a frame with the two victims and a child, aged about seven. A plate indicated the date 2021. The photo was recent.

"Shit! Where's the kid? Max? What time did they die?"

"I would say around one to three in the morning."

"Damn, that rules out that she's been to school. I want this house searched from top to bottom, every hiding place or nook. Danny, you take the basement. With Gracie, you have experience with little girls."

Kono and I will search on the first floor. Chin, do some research, and see if she was in school recently, she could be in boarding school or with her family."

"Okay, I'll take care of it."

"Nahélé? Are you coming to my party on Saturday?" asked Tony.

"Of course, I'm looking forward to it!" A stomach ache gnawed at the teen at his words, he was directly disobeying Steve, but it was worth it!

"We're skipping class this afternoon, are you coming?"

"To go where?"

"At the mall, the girls want to go."

"Very good, I will, but we are waiting to leave after roll call."

"Hello, I'm from the police, it's over, everything is fine. Will you come with me?" asked Danny to the child, holding out his hand.

Danny took her phone.

"Steve?" Danny called, "she's here." he said softly, so as not to frighten her by shouting.

"I have a little girl, you know" continued Danny. "Her name is Grace, she is 8 years old. How old are you? " Still no answer.

"Danny?' Steve called softly.

"Here" Just at Steve's presence in the room, the child looked up.

"Hello," the man said softly. "I'm Commander Steve McGarrett, I'm the Chief of Police. Step back," he ordered his men. He wanted first to be alone with the child and then for the little girl to realize that he was being obeyed.

Of course, all obeyed immediately.

The child was a perfect blend of her parents. She had long straight black hair, like her mother, with a soft Asian complexion like her father. Her large brown eyes, slightly green, gave him an intelligent gaze.

To his surprise, the child let herself be lifted and Steve was able to take her in his arms.

"Hush…I got you, it's ok, it's over, I'm here and I'll protect you, I promise."

The girl tightened her grip around his neck and wrapped her legs around his waist.

"Chin? Found something?"

"Her name is Lea, she is eight years old. She goes to school here at Alowa Private School. I don't see any family, her grandparents on both sides are deceased. An aunt who died on the continent two years ago from a car accident. I am still looking."

"Lea, it's a very pretty name, a mixture of the two cultures, here in Hawaii, it's the name of the goddess of canoe builders." Said Kono softly.

"Kono? Go to her room and pack her a suitcase, also take some toys and stuffed animals."

"Yes sir."

"That's a very pretty name for a beautiful little girl," Steve whispered in her ear. "I want you to close your eyes, don't open them until I tell you, okay?" He walked quickly past the living room where the bodies were covered in white sheets.

Steve had given Lea a sandwich and apple juice, she was exhausted, and she had ended up falling asleep on the sofa in his office.

"Have you found anything new?" Steve asked.

"No, I couldn't find any other family. The mother was an only child, with no sisters. Other than the deceased grandparents and woman on her father's side, there's no one. Do you want me to contact social services?"

"No, for now, she is a witness, she is under my protection, where I go, she goes."

At these words, the little girl throws herself into Steve's arms. For the second time that day, he hugs her.

"Looks like she's okay with you Mary Poppins" Danny teased.

"Danny, you're coming with me. Chin, you keep looking. Make an appointment tomorrow with Léa's teacher. Kono, look at the city camera at the approximate time of the murders.

"Yes sir,"

"Come on little Lea, you come with me to my house, okay?"

She tightened her grip around his neck.
