Chapter 2

The King stopped smiling when the warrior before him started to prepare himself for a fight.

Bosphoramus, shook his head.

"I come with no ill intent stranger, I just wished to thank you for getting rid of the monsters"

The warrior remained silent.

"You're not from around here are you stranger? Your armor is different from the ones in Hyrule, Sarasaland maybe?"

The slight movement in his body told the king all that he needed to know, the warrior was not from neither Hyrule nor the neighbor kingdoms.

So from where?

"Hyrule?" came the gravelly voice of the warrior.

"The kingdom in which you are right now, either you managed to not perish in your climb down the mountains of the north or your boat shipwrecked, but I see neither of those things being a possibility, after all the great plateau is not close to either of those locations"

The warrior shook his head.

"Impossible, I was just in…" he cut himself off and started to look around.

"The flame, I cannot feel the flame!" he said surprised.

"The fire died when you… used it"

"Not that flame, I cannot feel the flame nor the dark, this is madness!"

Bosphoramus stared at the man before him, letting him ramble.

To some he was speaking gibberish, but to Bosphoramus this was a revelation.

A sign that the goddesses had sent him someone especial.

"I let the flame fade… I failed my duty… I…I"

The warrior fell to his knees and his breathing started to accelerate.

"Damn the ringed city… I should have… the dark swallows all… I do not… I cannot"

Bosphoramus kneeled next to him.

"The darkness has not won yet warrior, but it will eventually, Ganon grows stronger by the minute"

"…who?"

The King let out a sigh.

"You truly are not from around the lands of Hyrule, Ganon is the Demon King"

The warrior stiffened at that.

"He is the wielder of the Triforce of Power, he has assaulted our land for centuries, only being defeated by the reincarnated hero time and time again, but right now our land is without a hero"

The warrior remained quiet.

"The hero died in battle, his wound to grave to be healed, not even our best could stop it, so now with no one to stop it the Darkness will consume our land"

"…the world… is at risk?"

"Yes, after Hyrule, Ganon will surely move to the other lands"

"…I see"

The King wanted to talk more but to his surprise the warrior stood up.

"Where is this darkness?"

Flabbergasted the King stared at him.

"In the castle, do you intend to help us warrior?"

"… I think I will"

Bosphoramus smiled and sent a small prayer of gratitude to the goddesses.

But to his surprise the warrior started walking forward.

"Wait… where are you going?"

"The castle, the beast will not slay itself"

"But that is IMPOSSIBLE that beast will kill you before you even get close to him, his guardians will destroy you!"

"Death cannot stop me"

The King watched in shock as the lone warrior kept walking further and further away from him.

"NO!"

The warrior looked back at him, Bosphoramus had dropped his disguise, he stood now before him not as an old man but rather as royalty.

He had wanted to keep his identity secret but he was desperate at this point, he would not let his kingdom's only hope die like a fool.

"I order you to stop"

"…royalty" the warrior then spat onto the ground and glared at him, his weapon now hoisted.

"Please warrior listen to me, I am pleading with you, the monster that resides in the castle will kill you, CONSUME you and there is no way you will be able to stop it, he is a GOD now and you are but a man, I beg of you not just as a King concerned for his people but rather as a father who wishes to see his daughter live"

The warrior kept glaring but had put away his weapon.

"If you truly care for the people and for your daughter then you would want the beast dead"

"My daughter is in the castle and what is stopping the creature from hurting the people outside the castle walls with the divine beasts in order to protect himself"

"Divine Beasts"

"Machines built to kill Ganon, but he turned them against us, with these beasts if he so desired he could destroy entire villages… I do not want to lose more lives in this conflict, everyone I ever held dear is dead or in danger so please… hear me warrior"

"… What is it you desire of me?"

Bosphoramus smiled a little "The beasts, you have to take them back, reclaim them from the beast, once you have done so they will aid you in your battle against the calamity"

"How many?"

"There are only four divine beasts I cans show you where they are if you would allow me"

"Is this the only thing you ask of me?"

"Yes warrior this will be the only thing I require of you"

"Then let's move with haste, the quicker this ends the better"

The old king smiled and led the warrior to the chamber of resurrection.

A small pang of sadness filled him as he watched the things that the Hero should have used.

But he had no time to waste he needed to…

There was something different here.

Someone.

"Warrior prepare yourself there is someone ahead I can feel them"

With a swift nod the warrior took out his sword and walked before the king.

A small figure was kneeling in the middle of the room its face downcast, white hair cascading down its back.

Before the king could ask, the warrior ran next to the figure.

He kneeled next to it and embraced it.

"Ashen One, you have found me"

The small and soft voice that came from the figure surprised the king.

There was no need to pry to know that these two knew each other.

The touching moment came to an end when the ground started to shake, as if an earthquake started.

But Bosphoramus knew that this was no earthquake, Ganon was stirring once more.

"The Dark" the small figure said.

"Yes… my Fire keeper… I am sorry but I have chosen to hunt down this darkness and end it… my mind was clouded by my stay at the ringed city… I let darkness consume me and I… failed my duty and I dragged you down with me, please forgive me, I have to atone for my sins and I understand if your heart desired to leave my side"

The Fire keeper smiled and raised her hand to caress his face (in this case helm)

"Ashen one, know'st thou not? I will never desire to leave your side, so please allow me to serve thee"

The Ashen one stood up and offered a hand to the Fire Keeper.

"My Fire Keeper, I thank thee"
