Chapter summary: What were Celebi's intentions when it brought Jessie, James, and Meowth to a familiar place? Also, Binastry has a chance to get revenge on Lenny, but will it be sucessful?

Chapter 9: A Desire for Revenge!

Celebi continued to take Jessie, James, and Meowth with its psychic attack away from Ash's group, which was out of sight within seconds.

"I demand that you put us down!" Jessie screamed.

At that moment, they were close to the lake where they had been a few minutes before. After quickly scanning the area, Celebi took Jessie, James, and Meowth to the ground, making them land softly.

"Why did you take us to this place?" James asked.

"Beeeee!" Celebi replied.

"Celebi said that it did so because it wants to talk to us about the vision we had a few minutes ago." Translated Meowth.

The three soon remembered the thoughts they had experienced at that past moment.

"How did this vision we had come to happen to all of us at the same time? And why does Binastry hate the world so much?" questioned James.

The Celebi soon started saying a series of "Beee"s while Meowth translated:

"Binastry has always possessed psychic power so strong that it allows him to make and break a mental link with whomever he chooses. However, from the moment Lenny trapped it in an indestructible box, Binastry developed a hatred for him, making it want its revenge against him, attacking anyone who gets on his way."

Jessie, James and Meowth were baffled by the story.

"Now that I've answered your questions, it's my turn to ask questions." Meowth continued to translate Celebi's lines which, at that moment, showed a brief moment of hesitation. "I watched everything that happened in the vision we had. I heard when that boy said that you are a group of criminals who want to catch other people's Pokémon without their permission. Is that true?"

James and Meowth didn't know if they should or wanted to answer the question, assuming hesitant expressions.

"Of course we are!" Answered Jessie. "After all, it's a very lucrative job, and our boss is really nice!"

"This really is a lucrative work for anyone who can catch Pokémon, although we haven't caught any." Added Meowth.

His speech made Jessie so angry that she kicked him hard.

"Do you really need to tell others about Team Rocket's private matters?" she yelled nervously.

"Beeee!" Said Celebi, again drawing the TRio' attention.

"Do you recognize that you need to put Team Rocket aside for the moment and stop Binastry from harming anyone else?" Meowth translated, recovered from her kick.

"Protecting the world from devastation is more important than catching Pokémon." James stated. "Count us on it!"

At that moment, Jessie's hands were fisted, her arms shaking.

"You can go save the world if you want, but I- I won't go with you." She said, opening her hands again as she turned around, looking towards the lake. Her speech surprised everyone in the group.

"But, Jessie-" James was saying, extending his hand to his partner's shoulder. However, she pulled away from her partner's hand, turning to face the group.

"Don't you remember the story of Binastry we heard in the vision we had?" She questioned. "His life was unfairly cursed because of that Lenny, just as our lives were cursed by others since our childhoods! I will not protect a world so unjust and so cruel as the one we live in!"

Saying that, Jessie ran towards the lake, stopping near the shore, almost crying.

At that moment, James and Meowth didn't know what to do next; although they felt duty bound to protect the world from devastation, what their partner had said was not as absurd as it seemed, making them even consider the idea of following her lead.

At that moment, a cry was heard in a distance:

"Continue the chase! We can't let him get away!"

Jessie, James, Meowth, and Celebi looked at the direction the voice had come from. Seconds later, they saw Lenny running through the trees, followed by a crowd that was only a few meters away from him.

They watched the chase, which continued until Lenny was between the lake and the pursuers, surrounded on both sides. At that moment, Jessie, James, Meowth, and Celebi were a good distance away from Lenny and his pursuers, who gave no sign of having seen the four of them.

"You are under arrest for illegally catching and using Pokémon!" Jenny said, advancing towards Lenny.

"You may have captured me today, but one day, I will be free again!" he retorted.

Before Jenny could even touch him, a voice was heard by everyone near the lake:

"After all the anguish you've caused me, I won't let you go free again!" cursed Binastry, bursting through the trees. The mysteryous box and artifact were still levitating because of his psychic attack.

Upon seeing Binastry, everyone in the crowd except Jenny began to flee, screaming. Both she and Lenny stared at the Pokémon, worried.

"Should we intervene now to prevent Binastry from attacking them?" Questioned James in a low voice.

"I will not help them." Answered Jessie. "Let them find a way to save themselves!"

Jessie, James, Meowth, and Celebi continued to watch Binastry. Everyone except Jessie was tense.

"Get out of my way, miss, so I can get revenge on this man." Ordered Binastry.

"Although this man is an outlaw, taking revenge on him is not the right thing to do." She stated. "Please let me bring him to justice, as I guarantee he will not go unpunished for his crimes."

At that moment, Binastry was visibly angrier than he already was.

"How dare you stop me from taking revenge on him?!" Questioned the Pokémon. "After everything he did to me, I deserve to have my revenge on him, and anyone who opposes me will suffer similar consequences!"

That said, Binastry prepared to attack the two with its psychic attack. However, before he attacked, a scream was heard in the region:

"Stop!"

Everyone near the lake turned their attention to the direction from which the scream came.

They all saw Ash, Misty, Brock, and Pikachu running towards Binastry, panting slightly.

"You again?!" Binastry said in a menacing tone.

"We cannot allow you to hurt these people just out of hate!" Ash stated.

While Binastry faced Ash and his friends, Jenny and Lenny were running away at the opposite direction.

"And who are you to stop me?" Binastry questioned, its eyes soon turning blue.

Before the youngsters and Pikachu had time to react, each of the four was enveloped in a bluish aura, unable to move. Seconds later, Binastry threw them towards the lake using its psychic attack.

As the four fell towards the lake, they began screaming desperately.

At that moment, Binastry turned around. He noticed that both Lenny and the officer had fled.

"If those two think they can run away from me, they are sorely mistaken!" he said, starting to follow two footprints on the floor. Both the artifact and the box were still floating due to his psychic attack.
