Hey! Guess who's back? GUESS WHO'S BACK!? ME! PEGASISTER1000! YAY!
NOW YOU REMEMBER ME! But I changed my username. So I am now known as IwatobiLover (make us free na splash kasaneta! *clap* *clap*)
I'm so happy to be back. And I would like to apologize for that VERY VERY VERY VERY LONG hiatus. I was super super busy with... well life in general. I started highschool, homework was piling up, and I had a lot of vacations! So I remembered all those notifications for people telling me to update. Then I thought "hey! Maybe I should keep writing!" Another reason was because I had left the Ninjago fandom for a while due to me losing interest and losing track of the new season. But now I'm slowly catching up and coming back!
Oh! And I also have updated "Sucked In" as well, so check that out too if you can.
Anyways, enjoy the chapter~
KATE'S POV
I blinked.
"I'm sorry, what?"
Cole scratched the back of his head, awkwardly.
"You don't have to answer. Sorry for asking," he said. I turned away to look up at the stars. I put my hands behind my head and relaxed a little. I sighed.
"It all started when I was a little girl," I began.
Flashback
I hid behind a bush. It was a good thing my body was tiny. I heard footsteps.
"Kate? I wonder where she went."
I giggled. I outsmarted my dad again. Or so I thought. I felt hands wrap around my waist. I screamed when dad pulled me out and held me in the air.
"I found you," he teased. I laughed as he put me on his shoulders. He smiled.
"You're getting good! I thought I lost you," he chuckled. I was only 7 years old when my dad started training me in the art of the ninja and Tanken mahÅ. Daddy thought I was getting pretty good at it. But I still had to get better in a lot of places.
"Come on. I think mommy is done making lunch."
I gave him a smile, showing my 2 front teeth missing from an accident. Dad put me down.
"Yay! Food! Food!" I yelled with my hands up in the air. I started jumping around daddy with excitement. I followed my dad back to the patio and sat down at the table. My mom came out, wearing her red checkered apron, and carrying a whole load of sandwiches.
"Lunch is ready," she spoke in a sweet tone, setting down the food and fixing her brown messy bun. I clapped in delight and put 3 sandwiches on my plate. Dad looked at my mother.
"She sure loves to eat," Dad told my mom. Mother giggled.
"Well, she is a big girl. She needs her strength for training," she responded. Even thought my mother is ok with me training, she worries a lot for me. I'm using knives when I'm 7, so I guess I understand. As I took a bite into one of the ham and cheese sandwiches, I immediately took a second and third bite. There was nothing like eating sandwiches with your Mom and Dad on a Saturday morning. It's even better when your mom makes the best sandwiches in the whole wide world.
Mommy isn't a good cook, however. One time, she tried to make a turkey for dinner. It ended up being thrown away because she accidentally cooked it for 7 hours. I really don't know why she thought it should be cooked for that long. I guess she just wasn't thinking at the time. Anyways, sandwiches was basically her strong point when it comes to cooking, since it just involves slapping meat and cheese on to bread and voila! A sandwich! So daddy does all the cooking.
"I think these are the greatest sandwiches so far, honey," Dad complimented my Mom. She giggled in response and gave him a "thank you" kiss on the lips in return.
"EW!" I cried with a face of disgust. They just laughed at me.
"You'll understand one day when you find a nice boy and you fall in love," mother said. I shook my head rapidly in response.
"No way, mommy! Boys are gross! They have cooties!" I replied. They laughed at me again and I frowned.
"You know we both love you," Daddy said. Mother agreed.
"And we also know that you love to be TICKLED!"
Before I could respond they both attacked my stomach, tickling me. I turned into a laughing mess, trying to calm down. I tried telling them to stop between the chuckles and giggles.
"Hahaha! Ah! Stop! That tickles! Haaha!"
They didn't stop. In fact, they kept tickling me even more.
That's when we all froze. We didn't make a sound or move. All we did was hear the explosion that appeared about 3 blocks away from us. The whole world seemed to slow down at that moment. Because at the moment, my entire life was going to change.
"IT'S THE GREAT DEVOURER"
End of flashback
I had to stop for a moment because I felt myself choke up. I wanted to continue but my mouth wouldn't make words.
"Kate. You don't have to keep going," Cole said, clearly concerned by the look on his face. I knew that he didn't want me to go on. He knew I couldn't keep going. But I wanted to.
"No. I'm fine," I managed to say.
"I really want to tell you this."
Knowing there was no other way to convince me from stopping, he sighed in defeat.
"You can keep going. But don't push yourself, Kate."
I nodded.
"Alright. I'll continue on then."
There you go! A cliffhanger just for you! I was going to add more to this chapter, but I was lazy so it will continue on in the next chapter. Bye!~
