(A/N sorry for being an asshole I'll try writing more often but you don't understand writing is hard)

After a long plane ride and short drive, the host club and Riley were carting in their luggage into the log cabin which was perched on the side of a snowy mountain. Haruhi, who looked less than enthused, sighed, "Senpai how can you have so many bags? We're only going to be here three days." Everyone looked to Tamaki, who had somehow managed to fill three suitcases for the trip.

"A suitcase a day?" Riley teased before turning her attention back to Mori, "Okay, we're inside. Now I can take my bag to my room." It had only been a few days since the accident in the kitchen but, since then, Mori coddled her by doing almost everything for her. His eyes went to the bandage tied around her right hand then down to the cast encasing her right foot before shaking his head. "Oh quit being such a mama bear and gimme my bag. It's one tiny bandage and one tiny cast. I'm not crippled yet. Now, where's my room?"

Kyouya, who was bundled in a huge lavender jacket, took out his notebook from some hidden pocket and said, "Second floor, fourth door down."

At the words "second floor" Riley unconsciously stole a glance at Mori, who held her bag out for her to grab. She rubbed just below her lower lip and looked to her fractured foot then to the extremely daunting stairs. "Okay I think I made my point thanks Mori for helping me bring my bag to my room." The rest of the club began to disperse to their respectable rooms to begin unpacking leaving just Riley and Mori behind in front of the door. "Alright fine," she muttered when he didn't move, "I'm sorry I called you a mama bear." When he still didn't move, she let out a large sigh, "And yes, I need your help."

At those words, he gave her his small smile and began walking towards the stairs. "Tease..." she whispered accidentally loud enough for him to hear. Though it was a small word it had a big impact on the host, making his heart jolt and his face flare. In an attempt to hide his own feelings, he didn't look behind him to see if Riley was following or not and, once he was in her room, he realized that she wasn't with him. He put her bag down on her bed before walking back out into the hall and when he didn't see her there, went back towards the front of the cabin.

He found her hobbling up the stairs, having to hold onto the rail on her right side with her left hand as she tried to ease the pressure on her foot. One of his eyebrows raised in slight confusion as he watched her struggle and began to wonder how long it would take for her to ask for help. "Riley, are you-"

"Mori I..." she stopped midsentence and looked up at him, her mind swimming with different ways to tell him that she didn't need his help but yet, the words that came out were, "Mori, could you stand on my right side, please?" The suggestion itself threw him off a little but he did as she asked and allowed her to use his outstretched arm as support. "Y'know, you helping me all the time isn't gonna help anyone. Now I won't be able to go up or down these stairs without you around. You're enabling me."

"Am I?" He asked in a mildly interested tone.

A snort of disbelief sounded from her as she looked up at him, "You literally carried me up to this cabin through the snow because my cast is so big I can't put a boot on it. Now I'm pretty sure that's as unhealthy as it gets."

As she was saying this, his eyes went to her large cast again and he shook his head, "Your foot would've gotten cold."

Then they were at the top of the stairs, both trying to think of ways to prolong their interaction. When nothing came to mind, Riley let go of the host's arm and smiled at him, "Thanks a bunch Mori. I got it from here." From there, she hobbled over to what she thought was her room but found herself in Haruhi's room. "Oh, hey Haruhi. I must've got the wrong room..."

"It's fine. Your room is the next one over." She was busy grabbing some of the warmest sweaters from her bag and sliding them on.

Feeling exhausted, Riley flopped on Haruhi's bed and sighed, "How do you do this? Keep up with all this... drama and travelling? And like, you have to keep your grades up and all that and I totally get it but how do you do it when they're always doing things like this?"

Haruhi waited for Riley to finish her rant before joining her on the bed, "I study every chance I get. I even brought my homework and textbooks with me so that I could get all my work done before Monday." There was a few second pause before she continued with, "You know, it just occured to me that I don't know much about you and you're so much older than me that it feels a little-"

"Woah woah woah hold up Haruhi," Riley interrupted, "'So much older'," she scoffed, "I'm only 17."

The host looked confused and frowned slightly, "I thought you were going into your second year of college."

Riley was fidgeting with her brace and laughed, "I graduated early. I really needed a job and I figured, if I worked hard and got scholarships, then I'd have a good job with money coming in to help pay the bills for my mom but, word of advice, scholarships don't always give you everything." When she looked up from her cast and saw Haruhi's worried expression, she quickly said, "But that was just my bad experience. I'm sure you'll do great I mean you're so much smarter than I am you're not rushing like I did. You got this."

A sudden uncomfortable silence passed between the two before Haruhi asked, "What do you mean 'scholarships don't always give you everything'?"

Dammit I shouldn't have said it like that... Riley thought to herself as she tried to think of the right words to explain her situation. "It's not... that's no exactly what I meant. What I meant was... you have to read between the lines kind of I guess. Like, I applied for a lot of scholarships and that was all great and even got approved for some. But there's certain things you need to qualify for said scholarships sometimes. Remember, these were all my mistakes into not looking into these things." Haruhi still looked unconvinced and mildly upset, enough to send Riley into a sort of panic. "Okay Haruhi, you're gonna be fine believe me. You got into this fancy ass school on some scholarship thing you got goin' on and you're still doin' great. Everything will be a-okay for you."

Since she still felt like she accomplished nothing but make poor Haruhi worry about her future, Riley stood from her spot and began to walk towards the door, "Look, sorry for being such a downer I shouldn't have said anything like that. Now, I'm gonna go be in my room with my foot in my mouth." With that, she escaped and hobbled from the room as fast as she could.
