Happy 10-Year Anniversary to I Promised! Yes, as of yesterday, January 20th, 2023, this fanfic has been on this website for 10 years! Hard to believe... Sadly, my work schedule prevented me from publishing it on the exact date, but can't have everything. Also I can't believe I actually managed to get 64 chapters. That's just too perfect, I love it.
And now after having your hearts perfectly and thoroughly stabbed and crushed and put through the wringer, let's treat the whole thing as a movie with real actors who made mistakes and played pranks while filming the scenes I put so much love into! Not every chapter is guaranteed to be represented here, but I'll try.

Chapter 1
Roy opens up the emergency supply kit in the airship, then starts looking under and behind it. This goes on for a while and the timers on the props have long since reached zero.
Larry opens one eye. "Roy, I think we'd be dead by now. What happened?"
Roy turns the storage compartment towards the camera. "There's no wrench." He starts laughing. "Orphan wins in the first chapter, guys. Story's over!"
A prop guy yells out. "Sorry, turns out I was one of Orphan's henchmen the whole time!" A Bandit comes onto the set with the wrench. "Seriously, though, sorry."

Chapter 2
5 clips of Toadette getting startled by the toaster and screaming, sometimes breaking into a fit of giggles afterward. On the fifth clip, caption appears at the bottom "This happened over 30 times XD"

Chapter 3
At Toad Town Clinic, two identical Toads load up an ambulance, only showing the back half.
"We've gotta have this!" one Toad says as he loads a stretcher into the back.
"And this!" the other Toad says, throwing in a first-aid kit.
"Can't go without the Sushi!" the first Toad walks back on set with said shark which is attached to his head by its teeth, and then it lets go and glides into the ambulance.
"I hold there's room for the tree!" the second Toad runs a conifer longer than the vehicle should be into the back like a battering ram, which disappears completely.
The first Toad carries a large Freezie on. "And what do we do if it's hot out there?"
The second pulls Parakarry by the hand, asking, "What if we have to mail a letter?" and shoves the Paratroopa into the back before closing the doors.

Chapter 4
Instead of swords, all the Koopalings hit Roy with pool noodles, including Morton, Larry, and Bowser Jr.
"Hey, no fair!" Roy protests. "I want one!"
A whistle comes from offscreen. "Roy, catch!" Bowser calls out.
Roy looks up and grins. He stretches out an arm and catches a noodle of his own. "Thanks, Pop! It's on now!"
"Run!" Lemmy yells as Roy immediately turns the tables, all of them cackling madly.

Chapter 7
Lemmy, Iggy, and Morton trudge through the tunnels below Darkland. One by one, they begin humming and beatboxing the underground theme.

While Goombella tries to read the Tattle Log, the breeze keeps blowing and turning pages of the book. Everyone gets increasingly frustrated at the wind, to various degrees.

Chapter 12
During Iggy's outburst, he gets a little too into it and accidentally flails himself right off the cot with a surprised yelp. After hitting the floor, he immediately breaks into hysterical laughter.
"Yeah, he's definitely okay," one of the doctors says.
"Did you get that on camera?" Iggy asks, still on the floor, still laughing.

Chapter 13
Bowser, playing Orphan, opens the secret door to the royal catacombs. He calls in, "We've been trying to reach you about your kart's extended warranty."
Ludwig and Wendy, along with offscreen crew, all groan, but a lot of laughter is heard as well, including from Bowser.
"Father, please!" Ludwig groans, trying to hide his own amusement.
But Bowser sees right through him, even in the dim light. "You're laughing, Ludwig!"
"Shut up," he huffs, which earns only more laughter from his father, and finally breaks Wendy's façade as she starts laughing too.

Chapter 14
Instead of Mona making a cameo, Mr. Broo greets another obscure human character from the extended Mario series games. Various versions of the same scene play, except with Stanley, Grace, Azalea, Putts, Plum, Harry, etc.

Chapter 17
Pauline holds up the third letter. "I'm telling you, no one is going to guess Mario Party 7. They'll all read 'Toadsworth' and 'vacation' and immediately think it's Sunshine."
"It talks about the MSS Seastar in the first," Ludwig comments offscreen.
"Most fans don't know the name of that ship," Pauline argues. "For all they know, it's the name of Peach's plane."
"Which is why it talks about Birdo in the second paragraph. She's not in Sunshine. It's a lesson in reading the whole thing before drawing conclusions," Ludwig argues back.
"It could be about 2 games, like this one." Pauline holds up the fourth letter about Super Mario Land 1 and 2.
"I never said it was perfect," Ludwig cops out.
Pauline just rolls her eyes.

Chapter 18
Pauline answers her cell phone upon entering Big Ape Hospital.
Bowser's voice is heard from the other end. "We've been trying to reach you about your kart's extended warranty."
Pauline looks over to where Bowser presumably is. "Really? Again?"
Bowser only laughs.

"These gender reveals are getting out of hand."

Mario is taken aback as more and more Toad children climb out of the rubble pile in a single file line, more than should even fit inside. When he realizes what's happening, he starts laughing.

Chapter 22
When Mario reenters the room with the Koopalings, Roy turns on him.

The Toads groan and facepalm, but some chuckle.
Larry, lying on the cot, also facepalms. "Come on, Roy!"
"Zip it, Larry," Roy chuckles, "You're supposed to be unconscious."
"He yells at me a lot," Mario concedes, "so it's hard to keep track."

Koops finished his line, looking into Koopie Koo's eyes, "And I don't know how to protect you without being by your side."

Koops face turns bright red in an instant and he covers his eyes. Koopie Koo breaks into laughter but also blushes.

When Koops attacks a tree during his training, a Goomba falls out from the branches and runs off.
Everyone stares at it as it goes.

A horde of Fuzzies suddenly stampedes the trio on Keelhaul Key.
"Outta the way, chumps!" one of the Fuzzies taunts as they hop along.
After a few seconds, the horde is gone, leaving Goombella, Mini-Yoshi, and Ms. Mowz lying on the ground. They're uninjured, but ruffled and twitching. The Fuzzies can be heard laughing in the distance.
"I hate Fuzzies," Goombella grumbles.

Chapter 30
Instead of just the party and Koops' family, Lemmy gets introduced to many characters from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
"And this is Mayor Kroop, and this is Koopook, and this is Bub-ulber, and this is Zess T., and this is Don Pianta, and this is his daughter Francesca, and this is her husband Frankie, and this is Gus, and this is…"

Chapter 33
"Boss Lady, are you sure you should be giving my information out to random Koopas? I'm not trying to get hitched, or anything," Blue Koopa jokes, referring to Kraig.
While lying on her hospital bed on the other side of the room, eyes still closed like she's unconscious, Wendy says, "I ship it." She earns herself some well-deserved chuckles from the others.

Chapter 36
Iggy calls after the knock, "Who is it?"
Lemmy giggles before replying, "We've been trying to contact you about your kart's extended warranty!"
Iggy facepalms while Bowser roars, "YES!" from a ways away, laughing his head off.

Ludwig scoops up Bowser Jr. from his crib. He turns to leave, but Junior's blanket catches on the edge, bungee-ing the Koopas back against the crib. The others laugh at the two now in a heap on the floor.

Chapter 37
When Ludwig chokes on the Mushroom, he continues coughing even after spitting it out. "I knew this would happen at one point," he croaks out with a few chuckles and a curse.
Kamek rubs his carapace as Hammer Sam runs off yelling for water.

Ludwig gently unwraps the bundled blanket containing Bowser Jr.
Except when he uncovers Junior's face, it's not a Koopa to greet him, but a Boo popping up and screeching in his face. Ludwig screams and falls on his back, everyone laughing at his expense.
Ludwig swears at the Boo loudly as it triumphantly flies off.

Chapter 41
After Iggy suggests Morton take Goombella somewhere else to talk about the Tattle Log, Morton takes her suggestion. In true royal Koopa fashion, he grabs Goombella and runs out the door. The poor Goomba screams the whole way out, knowing the chatty fate that awaits her.

Chapter 42
Mini-Yoshi accidentally hits a Cheep Cheep while skipping rocks, triggering a fight starting with the "You struck first!" HUD popping up.

Chapter 43
Koops' Mailbox SP goes off. He pulls it out and reads aloud, "'We've been trying to reach you about your…'" He trails off and facepalms.
Koopie Koo looks over his shoulder, sees what the email says, and yells, "Bowser, stop it!"
"Never!" Bowser laughs his head off once again as everyone groans.

Many clips of the characters accidentally talking over each other, saying the wrong lines, saying each other's lines, or saying their lines out of order. Each clip includes embarrassed and amused reactions after the mistake.
Also J's frustrated scream from keeping track of everyone's lines permeates the universe, halting everyone in their tracks.

When Orphan kicks Mario, Mario gets KO'd Smash Bros style, and "GAME!" appears and is announced.

Chapter 62
Bowser trips as he takes off with Peach, sending them both tumbling to the ground.
"Good heavens!" Toadsworth exclaims as the two get to their feet and dust themselves off, "Not much of a chase now. Shall we start over?"
So it really wasn't every chapter, but I'm impressed that I got most of them. Ironically, not a single Blooper in sight.
Well, this is really it. The final time I'll ever post in this story. Bittersweet, to be honest.
That being said, I have ideas for writing something that takes place in this continuity... a sequel that doesn't focus on the Koopalings, but the big four: Peach, Luigi, Mario, and Bowser. I call it PLMB. Read as "plum(b)" like the color, fruit, or profession. Will I ever actually write it? I have not clue, but ideas for scenes and elements are rattling around in my head something fierce. I also have some concept art on DeviantArt if you wanna go check them out.
