You already know what time it is! Onwards to the story!

Waves crashed against the sandy soil of Dagobah Beach as Toshinori quietly stood, watching the setting sun, waiting for his young charge to arrive. He was not alone; a few couples sat on the beach and a nearby dock, enjoying the relaxing atmosphere that Dagobah was known for before it became a dump. He checked the time on his phone, and then his chat box, ensuring that he had indeed sent Izuku the request to meet him. 'Perhaps I should head home,' he thought to himself, 'Young Midoriya likely fell asleep, or is celebrating with his lovely mother. She has been asking for me to visit, I could probably-'

His thoughts were interrupted by the pounding footsteps of the boy, his hand 'waving an enthusiastic hello. "Yagi-sensei!" he all but yells, picking up his pace when he sees the emancipated hero turn to see him.

He opened his mouth to greet him, only to have the familiar taste of blood fill his mouth. Lurching a bit, the red liquid spills past is lips, down his chin and onto the sand. 'Damn,' he lamented, pain flaring in his side, 'must have overdone it today.' Today had been a particularly busy one for villains, and just as he always had, Toshinori found it difficult to ignore the cries of citizens as he went about his day, his body often moving before his mind had a chance to admonish him. 'I suppose that's something we have in common, isn't it Young Midoriya?'

Izuku looked on at his mentor with great concern. "Yagi-sensei!" he exclaimed, reaching into his pocket and digging out a handkerchief; he quickly learned to keep one on hand when with the hero, for situations just like this. He brought it to the hero's face, wiping away the blood the best he could. "Are you ok?" he finally asked.

Toshinori nodded his head, taking the handkerchief and using it himself. "Yes, Young Midoriya," he reassured, "thank you for the concern." In years prior, when he first had gotten injured, he would have brushed off the young man's concerns, insisting that nothing was wrong and demanding he drop it. 'Just as I did with Sir Nighteye… I will not make the same mistake with you, Young Midoriya.'

Finding his face clean, he looked to his young student. "First thing is first young man," he said, smiling. He held up his hand, inviting Izuku for a high five, "Congratulations on your acceptance."

Izuku happily accepted, meeting his hand with Toshinori's. "Thank you, Yagi-sensei," he smiled, "I could not have done it without your guidance!" He rubbed the back of his head, lowering his voice "or your Quirk…"

Toshinori cut the boy off. "Hush Young Midoriya," he chastised, "Your Quirk is merely a tool, one that required hard work and dedication to wield, both of which you have in excess."

Izuku nodded his head. "Hai, sir," he confirmed, "I know. I am still incredibly grateful." He looked around the beach, taking notice of the various couples surrounding them. He couldn't help remembering bringing Momo here just the day before; did people think they were dating? 'Do I mind if they did?' He shook his head of the thought, wishing to focus on another topic.

"Yagi-sensei," he began, "I didn't know you'd be teaching at UA!" he exclaimed excitedly, "Why didn't you tell me?" He was not mad having been kept in the dark, simply curious as to the secrecy; afterall, All Might had entrusted seemingly his closest secret to him, a new job seemed hardly worth hiding.

Toshinori laughed, putting a hand on Izuku's shoulder. "Well, I needed to keep some surprise for your acceptance letter!" he reasoned, "besides, I know you well Young Midoriya. You would have worried that I used my contacts and influence to secure your spot at UA. Rest assured, you earned your position fair and square, no meddling from me involved!"

Izuku nodded his head, impressed at how well Toshinori could read him. In truth, he had been mildly concerned that All Might had pulled some strings in order to ensure his acceptance to his Alma Mater, and so it was reassuring that his results were his alone. "Still," he muttered, "All Might teaching at UA… I can hardly believe it."

Toshinori looked down. "Originally," he admitted, "I took the job to scout out a potential successor," he explained. 'Ah,' Izuku thought, 'That makes sense, UA is a hotbed of capable people, overflowing with awesome Quirks; it's probably the best place to look for a successor.'

The number 1 hero laughed, "but clearly, that is no longer the case!" he exclaimed. "Now, I can focus on teaching the next generation of great heroes, and ensuring you are ready to succeed me as the Symbol of Peace!"

Izuku felt his heart rate quicken at the mention of his prospective responsibilities. He had always wanted to be an amazing hero like All Might, but he was not a complete dreamer. He knew his chances of reaching the position of number 1 without a Quirk was… slim, to say the least. But that was no longer a concern; he had All Might's power, possibly the strongest in the world; there was little doubt in his mind that he would reach his position and inherit all the duties that accompanied it.

His only solace was that All Might would be there to help him, every step of the way. However, even this caused a question to gnaw at him. "Yagi-sensei," he started, "where will you find the time to do all this? Teaching at UA, mentoring me…" he looked down at his hand, balling it into a fist, "nevermind being the number 1 hero, it seems like a lot…"

Toshinori let out a sigh; he had promised himself he would be honest with the boy, now it seemed he would have to put that into practice. "To tell you the truth, Young Midoriya, I don't expect to spend much more time as a hero anymore…" he looked off to the seemingly infinite ocean, his face contorting into a stoic expression. "As I told you, I can only spend roughly three hours a day being a hero lately… and I expect that number to shrink quickly now that I've passed the torch to you."

Izuku blinked, struggling to process the words his mentor was sharing with him. "Yagi-sensei… I don't understand…"

Toshinori pondered on how to describe it to his pupil. Finally, he settled on a metaphor. "Think of One for All as a fire," he explained, "the brighter it burns within you, the dimmer it will get within me, until… until I can no longer call upon its power. When that happens, my time as a hero will be over."

The young verdette had to blink back tears; subconsciously, he knew Toshinori's time as All Might was limited by his injury but hearing it from the man himself was difficult. "What if…"

he sputtered, "what if I'm not ready before… before it's your time?"

At this, Toshinori let out a laugh. "Do not worry about that, Young Midoriya, you are already well on your way!" He looked at his young charge, giving him a comforting smile. "It won't be today, nor tomorrow, nor next week. I still have plenty of time before I can no longer be the Symbol of Peace. You will be well prepared by then, I promise!"

At his comforting words, Izuku felt many of his anxieties melt away. 'That's All Might for you!' he thought. "Ok Yagi-sensei, I'll hold you to that!" he beamed.

Toshinori inflated into his hero form, giving his young charge a thumbs up. "Just what I expect from you, Young Midoriya!" The hero checked his phone, taking note of the time. "It is getting late, let us get you home! I will escort you, it can be dangerous at this time of night!"

'Yes, that is why I must take you home, Young Midoriya. It is certainly not to see your mother once again, not at all.'

Before Izuku could give a response, one of the nearby couples took notice of the number 1 hero suddenly appearing on the beach. "Holy crap, is that All Might? When'd he get here?!"

'Shit, probably not the best place to transform.' Looking around, he quickly darted off the beach, dragging Izuku behind him. "Quickly Young Midoriya, to your home!"

The young man had little choice but to follow.

VVV

Toshinori, Izuku, and his mother spent some time together, celebrating Izuku's acceptance. Around 10:30, Toshinori began to excuse himself, realizing how late it was.

"Oh," Inko had said, "do you have to leave? It's awfully late now… why don't you just stay the night, Mr. Yagi?"

Toshinori Yagi, All Might, the Symbol of Peace, had faced down many villains over his career; great evils that demanded an indomitable will to stand against. And yet, when faced with the slim woman's pleas to stay, he could not find the strength to deny her. So, Toshinori would spend the night in the Midoriya guest bed, much to the amazement of Izuku.

"I can't believe All Might is sleeping in my house…" he muttered to himself, shutting his bedroom door behind him and sinking into his bed. He reached into his phone, only to be greeted by a number of texts. 'I really have to get better at checking this…' he admonished himself.

He opened a message from Katsuki first, the subject unsurprisingly being his acceptance into UA. "I got in," the message read "Message me when you get your letter, nerd.'

Izuku shook his head and laughed, before replying to his best friend. "Sorry, mom wanted to celebrate. Guess we'll be spending the next three years at UA :)"

As he awaited Katsuki's response, he opened the next message, this one from Ochaco. In this chat box, there was not only a message, but a picture as well, of her holding up her unopened letter, looking nervous. 'So adorable,' Izuku could not help but think. Below the picture was a text: "I got in! I got in! Which means you DEFINITELY got in! I can't wait to see you :D"

Izuku's fingers moved quickly to respond to her message. "I knew you would, Ochaco! I'm looking forward to seeing you soon!"

Finally, the verdette opened his final message, this one from Momo. "I have heard that acceptance letters were received today. Please let me know the contents of yours at your earliest convenience.'

Obligating her request, Izuku went to answer her. "You heard right, I got in! Looks like we'll be seeing a lot more of each other!'

The young hero-to-be spent some more time idly chatting with his three friends before falling asleep, his dreams filled with the good times he would be having at UA, and all the people he would help as a hero. He had no doubt, the next three years of his life were going to be perfect.

Oh sweet, naive Izuku.

VVV

In Izuku's mind, March turned to April quicker than he anticipated.

'I suppose I have been keeping busy,' he reasoned. Indeed, the month between receiving his acceptance letter and now, his first official day as a student of UA, had been a blur. Between hanging out with Katsuki, keeping in contact with Momo and Ochaco, and training with All Might, he barely had a moment to stop and process everything!

Speaking of the number 1 hero, he had been seeing quite a lot of him. He had insisted that the two of them continue their combat and strength training, something that Izuku did not find all that surprising. What he did find surprising was the amount of time Toshinori was spending at his apartment. It started as an every now and again affair; now, it felt like the man was spending several days a week in his guest room, and his mother did not seem to mind! In fact, it's almost like she encouraged it…

Case and point, right now.

"Young Midoriya," he called through his closed door, "your mother wishes to know if you are almost ready. You don't want to be late on your first day after all!"

The young teenager finished tying his bright red shoes, checking himself over in the mirror. His school uniform, supplied by UA, was quite fitting on him, so he thought. The gray dress coat with green accents matched both his eyes and hair. His muscular frame filled the outfit well, accentuating his ample muscle and strong body. Truly, he was every high school girl's dream, no that he would admit that.

He opened the door to see the pro hero standing there in his usual white t-shirt and baggy pants, seemingly in no rush to get out the door himself. Idly, he wondered how he intended to get to work if he did not leave soon, but quickly threw the thought away; it was sometimes easy to forget, with how much time the two were spending together, that this was All Might. The man could leap whole city blocks in his sleep; he would be just fine.

As Izuku opened the door, Toshinori caught a glimpse of his room, stifling a laugh. The green haired boy had done his best to keep the number one hero from entering his domain; initially, Toshinori had assumed it was typical teenage angst, wanting to maintain some sense of privacy and ownership over his space. Quickly, however, the blonde learned the dark, terrible truth.

'This kid is a total fanboy!' Toshinori thought, the myriad of All Might memorabilia difficult to hide. In not quite equal measure, but still significant, was also Eraser Head merchandise; an impressive feat, considering the anti-social pro did not have much in terms of a fan base or demand for products. 'Well, aren't you in for a surprise today, Young Midoriya!'

Izuku quickly closed the door behind him, mentally praying that Toshinori had not seen the state of his room. 'How embarrassing would that be!' he cried in his mind. Izuku beamed at his mentor, motioning to his outfit. "So," he asked, "how do I look?"

Toshinori took in the sight of his successor, a wave of nostalgia unexpectedly overcoming him. "Ah, young man," he whispered with pride, "you remind me of myself when I was a student at UA." He let out a hearty chuckle, "you definitely have my size, at least!"

At this Izuku let out a laugh. "Thank you, Yagi-sensei," he responded, walking with the blonde down the hall and to the living room, where his mother was waiting, phone in hand. "Smile for the camera, you two!" She commanded. The duo obliged, flashing wide smiles as Inko snapped a picture. She handed the phone to Toshinori, her hand gracing his. "Do you mind, Mr. Yagi?" she asked.

Toshinori trembled slightly at her touch, nodding his head. "Of course, Midoriya-san," he assured, taking the device from her and taking her place in front of Izuku. He allowed the two to get into position, before aiming the camera. "Say, PLUS ULTRA!" he commanded.

"Plus Ultra!" came the reply from mother and son, wide smiles plastered on their faces as Yagi snapped the photo. He handed the phone back to Inko, content that the pictures were done. Inko, however, had other plans. She placed the phone on a nearby table, angling it well enough and setting it on a timer. She quickly ran back to the other two, throwing her hand around Izuku, beckoning Toshinori to do the same. "All together now!" she insisted.

The pro-hero relented, wrapping a scrawny arm around his protege. Once again, his hand grazed Inko's causing him to give a smile so wide that it was reminiscent of his hero form. Though he did his best to hide it, Toshinori could admit that those smiles were often forced, meant to provide comfort to those who need it in dangerous situations. His constant pain, his anxiety over the future, his future, rarely allowed him to give a genuine smile. 'But these two…' he thought, catching a brief look at the dual verdettes, 'You really are something special, Young Midoriya, you as well Midoriya-san.' He refocused his attention on the camera, allowing it to take its picture.

When it was done, Inko ran to her phone, seeing how it turned out. A small smile graced her lips, turning it over to Izuku and Toshinori. "It came out so well!" she exclaimed.

The blonde hero could not help but agree; the three look positively happy together, the two adults' arms wrapped tight around the young man, smiles wide. 'If I didn't know better, I'd say we almost look like a fa-'

Yagi shook that thought from his mind as quickly as it came.

Instead, he simply nodded politely to his host. "It certainly did, Midoriya-san," he replied. Inko looked at her son, tears suddenly swelling in her eyes. "You look so cool, Izuku…" she whispered, her voice growing strained. She wrapped her son in a tight hug, letting the tears flow freely down her face.

Izuku returned the hug, squeezing his mother tightly. "Aw mom, it's alright…" he comforted, "I'll be back later today!"

Inko wiped the tears from her eyes, taking a good look at her son. "I know sweetheart…" she confirmed, "I'm just so proud of you." Izuku had gone above and beyond even her wildest, most unrealistic expectations; now, it was time for him to take the next step of his journey, and she was done doubting him.

Izuku nodded his head, a look of determination spreading on his face. "I will do my best," he promised, making his way towards the door, "to live up to both your expectations."

Toshinori beamed with pride. 'Oh young man, you already have!' He gave Izuku an excited thumbs up. "Have a good day, Young Midoriya! Be the hero your mother and I know you can be!"

The only response Izuku could muster was an excited nod of his head. "Hai!" he confirmed, opening the door and stepping out into what felt like a whole new world.

VVV

"Holy fuck, this place is huge!"

Of course, this brand new world was going to have some familiar faces. Case and point, the vulgar Explosion user Katsuki walked the spacious halls of UA with his verdette best friend, having come together to school on their first day. Much to their satisfaction, both had been placed in the same class, 1-A.

'Still so vulgar!' Izuku thought, before verbalizing his admonishment in a more gentle tone. "Kacchan," he reminded, "maybe you should try and tone down the language, eh? We're at UA now, no telling how they'd react to it." The last thing he wanted was Katsuki getting in trouble, or worse, expelled; he was not sure he could drag his best friend from the hole he would throw himself in if that happened.

Katsuki only rolled his eyes at Izuku's concern. "Relax, mom," he teased, "I promise not to use bad words in front of the adults." He looked around the halls, still looking for 1-A's home room. "Still you have to admit, its a lot bigger on the inside, huh?"

Izuku could concede that point; the halls, doors, even the classrooms all seem to be scaled up far larger than what would be found at a typical high school. "They probably don't have a choice," he pointed out, "they have to accommodate all kinds of Quirks here, I'm sure someone makes good use of all this space."

Katsuki simply nodded in response, absently listening to his friend's rationale before finally coming on the door they had been looking for. "Here it is, finally!" He stood in front of the large door frame, looking at his best friend. "You ready man?" he asked, determination bubbling up from his core. 'Starting now, the gap between us starts to close!' he promised himself.

Izuku only gave a confident nod, reaching for the handle and opening the door. Stepping into the classroom, he was greeted with an assortment of faces, casually chatting with one another. Many were brand new to him; a boy with a tail, a girl who sported some frog-like features, a… pink girl? 'Wonder what her Quirk is' Izuku idly wondered to himself. Of course, not everyone there was a new face, perhaps the most pressing of them being-

"Izuku!" he heard the familiar voice of Momo Yaoyorozu from across the room, and she quickly excused herself from the conversation she was having with a red-haired boy, making her way over to her friend. Unexpectedly, she threw her arms around Izuku, pulling him into a tight hug. "I'm so glad you're here! Are you in 1-A too?' she asked, releasing him from her grip.

It took Izuku's brain a moment to catch up with his ears, having short circuited a bit from the… various things he felt in that rather tight hug. 'She was so close!' he thought to himself, a blush spreading on his face. Little did he know, Momo's thoughts were similarly scrambled. 'I can't believe I just did that, and in front of all our new classmates! What was I thinking!' she chastised herself, 'Still… to feel those muscles… totally worth it!'

When Izuku recovered from the mild shock, he smiled at his friend. "Momo! It's so good to see you!" he nodded his head at her question, "yea! Kacchan and I both got put in 1-A! What luck huh?"

Katsuki eyed Momo, his red eyes piercing her Onyx ones. "So you're the girl Izuku's always yapping about, huh ponytail?" he asked, knowing full well what effect that would have on his best friend. 'You may be stronger than me Izuku, but there are still plenty of ways for me to get at you!'

Momo blushed at the implications of Katsuki's words, so much so that she ignored the nickname he had placed upon her. 'Izuku talks about me? And often! Does that mean he…' She looked at her friend, giving him a coy smile. "I must be," she finally said, "I hope its only good things, Izuku."

For his part, Izuku was beet red, waving his hands fervently in the air. "OfcourseIwouldneversayanythingbadaboutyouMomowhatcouldIeve-" he said in a rush, his embarrassment causing an avalanche of words to spew from his mouth. And in all likelihood, the words would have kept coming, if not for another coming to interrupt the three's conversation.

"Midoriya!" came a loud, aggressive voice, shocking him out of his word vomit. Turning to the source, he found it to be the preppy boy in glasses from the exam, the one Ochaco had admonished for being rude to him. 'I wonder what he could want?' he wondered.

Apparently, Katsuki had the same inquiry, though unlike Izuku he intended to verbalize it. "Oi, four eyes," he growled rather aggressively, "don't remember inviting you to butt into the conversation."

The four eyes in question, rather tall for his age, pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose, bringing his hand down in a rather aggressive chop. "How could you be so rude to a fellow student?" he demanded, "Don't you know you are at the highly prestigious UA? Show some respect for this institution."

'Oh man,' Izuku thought, 'if I don't get involved right now, I'll never hear the end of it from these two.' Clearing his throat, he cut in between the two glaring teens. "Its alright Kacchan," he assured, "lets just hear what he has to say." The only response he received was a scoff as Katsuki dug his hands into his pockets.

"Thank you Midoriya," the taller boy praised, "As to be expected from the top scorer on the entrance exam." Without warning, he gave a deep, stiff bow, his body forming a perfect 90 degree angle. 'W-what is he doing?!' Izuku thought.

His answer would come quickly. "Allow me to introduce myself!" the boy all but yelled, "My name is Tenya Ida, second son of the Ida family!" He raised his torso, allowing himself to meet Izuku's eyes. "I never got a chance to at the Entrance Exam, so I insist on apologizing now!" Ne brought his head back down in a bow, reforming the right angle with his body. "My behavior towards you at the Exam was inexcusable, especially from one such as myself! I allowed my hasty judgments to blind me to your heroic spirit, so clearly on display when you sacrificed yourself to destroy the Zero-pointer, please forgive me!" he pleaded, his form unmoving.

Izuku looked at the boy, clearly surprised by his little speech. 'That's what this is all about?' He shook his head, beckoning Tenya to stand straight. "Please, Ida, its alright," he assured, "it was a stressful day, I'm sure you meant nothing by it."

The other two had their own thoughts on this whole ordeal.

'Such a kind, forgiving heart,' thought Momo, her adoration for the young hero-to-be growing.

'D-destroy the Zero-pointer?! He never told me about that!' Katsuki, true to his nature, was not about to let that slide, and would have had some choice words for his best friend if he had not been interrupted by the door sliding open, a familiar face poking through the frame.

"Izuku!" Ochaco exclaimed, rushing into the class and throwing her arms around the young man. "Its so good to see you!" she smiled, "looks like we're in the same class, huh?"

The verdette could not stop his face from flushing red. "Y-yea, looks like it!" He managed to get out. His mind, of course, was focused on other things. 'That's the second time a girl has hugged me today! What gives!?"

Little did Izuku know, a short, purple haired boy in their class was having the exact same thought.

And they were not the only ones. Momo watched the two with a cautious eye. 'That must be the girl Izuku saved during the Entrance Exam,' she reasoned, 'it would only make sense she would greet him like that, just two friends giving each other a hug.' Despite this self-reassurance, Momo could not stop the familiar feeling of jealousy building in her heart.

Ochaco finally released Izuku, her eyes landing next on Katsuki. "Ah, Bakugo! I see you made it too, congratulations!" she praised. The Explosion user just scoffed, rolling his eyes. "Of course I made it in, round face," he boasted, earning an elbow from Izuku. "Good to see you got it," he added.

Tenya did not wait for Ochaco to acknowledge him, instead returning to his familiar bow. "Ochaco Uraraka! My name is Tenya Ida, I apologize for my behavior at the Entrance Exam! Not only did I pass judgment on your friend, but I froze at your calls for help against the Zero-pointer!" He rose and bowed once again, holding the position. "Please forgive me!"

Ochaco looked at the boy, a bit perplexed, before Izuku leaned over, whispering in her ear. "He did the same thing when he saw me," he informed her, "just forgive him and he'll go back to normal.'

Ignoring the warm feeling in her chest as she felt Izuku's breath on her ear, she looked down at Tenya. "Oh, its ok Ida! Really, I know you didn't mean anything by it, really!"

Tenya rose from his bow, giving both Ocacho and Izuku a smile. "Thank you both for your generosity and kindness, I can see why you both were accepted into UA!"

Momo, like Tenya, did not wait for Ochaco to greet her before inserting herself. "Hello," she greeted, "My name is Momo Yaoyorozu, it is a pleasure to meet you." Momo outstretched her hand, a smile on her face. "Izuku has told me a lot about you, Uraraka."

Ochaco returned her smile, accepting her outstretched hand. "Yaoyorozu! Izuku has said so much about you too! Its truly a pleasure to meet another of his friends, I am sure we'll get along great!"

Much to the obliviousness of the men around them, despite the smiles and handshakes, there was only one thought on both the girls' minds as they exchanged pleasantries: 'Love Rival!' This invisible tension may have erupted into something more, if not for the sound of loud, almost obnoxious slurping that could be heard from the hall.

The group of five, along with the rest of the class, turned to look through the door. There was a disheveled man, clearly sleep deprived, wrapped in a bright yellow sleeping bag. His shaggy black hair spilled out onto the floor as he slurped on his juice pouch.

Izuku looked down at the man, his eyes widening. 'Is that… No, it couldn't be…'

Finally, the seemingly human caterpillar opened his mouth. "If you're just hear to make friends," he droned, crawling out of his sleeping bag, "you can leave right now. This is a class for heroes"

'It is, there's not doubt its…' "Aizawa-sensei?" he verbalized before he could stop himself, earning looks from all around him but Katsuki.

'You…' the ash-haired boy thought, 'I remember you! You were the one with Izuku all those years ago… What're you doing here?'

Shota ignored both Izuku's words and Katsuki's looks, marching past them and to the front of the class. Waiting for there to be complete silence, he looks down at his watch. "It took you all 8 seconds to quiet down." He let out a disappointed sigh, "How irrational… Do you all know how short life is? You're all lacking basic common sense."

Satisfied by the ashamed looks washing over the students' faces, he continued on. "My name is Shota Aizawa, your homeroom teacher." He looked around the room, putting names and Quirks to faces as best he could, having already reviewed everyone's files. "A pleasure to meet you all."

The news that this man would be their homeroom teacher elicited a variety of responses. Most were some form of negative, ranging from trepidation to outright disappointment that they would not have a more curvy hero.

(Ironically, this came from the same student who seethed over all the hugging Izuku was experiencing today.)

However, there was at least one glowing, excited reaction to this news. 'This is unbelievable!' Izuku thought, 'Aizawa is going to be my teacher again? Does he remember me? He must, right? Though he's never visited or wrote…'

The young man did not have any more time to think on the implications of his former teacher dropping the first half of that title, as Shota spoke again. "Alright, get up and lets go," the first part of your hero training is…" Everyone leaned forward in anticipation and fear, wondering what their very first trial would be. Shota opened his mouth, and revealed…

"Orientation!"

'So normal!' Everyone thought, everyone except the Erasure hero; no, his feelings were much more explicit.

'Damn you Nezu,' were his thoughts, grabbing a sizable bag and leading his students to the auditorium.

VVV

Class 1-A, for the first time in years, took their place in UA's auditorium for orientation. Izuku sat between Momo and Ochaco, with Katsuki and Ida seated directly behind him. They had been here before, during Present Mic's speech before the Practical Exam, though it was not nearly as full as it had been then; each grade had their own orientation, with First Years being, appropriately first.

'Man, I wonder who will be speaking… I wonder if it's All Might!" Izuku wondered, 'Assuming he ever left my house.'

As if to answer his question, Principal Nezu walked onto the stage, tapping the mic, getting the attention of the students. "Thank you all," he began staring directly at Shota, "for coming to your first orientation as UA Students!"

This was met with cheers from the prospective heroes, and an eye roll from the tired pro.

"You all know the prestige of this institution," Nezu continued, "The difficulty, the hard work, the grueling effort required to even be considered. You all went through it, and beyond to earn your place here today, so I will not spend time speaking of it."

The intelligent animal continued. "Instead, I want to take this time to focus on the future, specifically your future. All of you are here for different reasons. Some of you wish to be heroes," he motioned towards classes 1-A and 1-B, "others are here for academics," and he did the same for classes 1-C, 1-D, and 1-E.

"Others still are here to provide the critical support heroes need to do their jobs well." He was of course, referring to classes 1-F, 1-G, and 1-H. "And still some are here to focus on the business end of the hero industry," he concluded, looking towards classes 1-I, 1-J, and finally 1-K, completing the roundup of all the First-Year classes.

"Whatever your reasons may be," he said, "the expectations are the same. We do not tolerate mediocrity here at UA, we do not accept even your best." Some of the students looked at Nezu, confused.

"The administration and staff at UA expects you to embody our school's motto: Plus Ultra!" he explained, "to go above and beyond your limits, to lay everything on the line… that is what it means to be a hero, and whether you are in the heroics course or not, we expect you to live up to that principle. Your teachers," he motioned to the heroes that stood behind him on the stage, "are aware of these expectations, and will not hesitate to distribute punishment if you fail to do so."

The students began to sport worried faces as the work and responsibilities that would be placed on them became more apparent. "I do not say this to scare you, but to prepare you," Nezu clarified. "Your teachers will push you beyond your limits, will draw out more from you than you thought possible. You will struggle. You will fail. And when you do, we and your fellow students will be there to pick you back up! As is the essence of a hero!"

This fired up the classes, as they became more restless and excited. Nezu could see this, and decided to end things on a high note. "So take hold of the challenges ahead of you, and go beyond! Plus Ultra!"

At this, the students gave an enthusiastic "PLUS ULTRA!" in return, inspired by their principal's words.

'Heh,' Shota thought to himself, a small smile gracing his lips, 'I guess that wasn't so bad.'

VVV

'I take it back!'

While Shota had been accepting of Nezu's opening speech, he was less excited about the other activities of orientation, which consisted of various teachers introducing themselves, what they taught, and other miscellaneous information. 'Such a waste of time!' the pro hero thought.

Finally, it was over, and the students were more or less oriented. "Ok everyone!" Nezu had said, "now follow your homeroom teachers and they will lead you to your guidance counselors. Shota snickered to himself as he led his students down the halls of UA, finally reaching the door leading to P.E. Grounds. 'I said I would take them to orientation, and I did. Now to do things my way.'

"Uh, Aizawa-sensei," Izuku asked tepidly, still unsure how to interact with his former-turned-current teacher, "aren't we supposed to be going to the guidance counselors? Why are we on the P.E. Grounds?"

Shota turned to his former pupil and other students, giving them a wild grin. He threw the large bag to Izuku, now opened, revealing labeled P.E. uniforms for every student. "Because, Midoriya, it's time to really begin your first year at UA." Shota could hardly contain his demented glee. 'Time to see what you are all made of!'

"Distribute those uniforms, get to the lockers, and put them on," he commanded, turning his back on the students. "It's time for your Quirk Apprehension Test!"

The only response he got was a collective "HUH!?"

That's a wrap! Man, quick turnaround on this chapter huh?

I hope you all enjoyed; originally I was gonna throw the Quirk Apprehension Test into this chapter too, but this was already the longest chapter of the story, so I will get to it next time!

A kind reviewer let me know that I mixed up All Might's first and last name; my apologies, I will go back and fix that eventually. Thank you kind sir/ma'am for letting me know!
