~ I wake to the sound of a door slamming and the noise is disorienting enough to startle me into sitting up. There's someone grunting and a loud thump before the bedroom door swings open. I don't have a chance to prepare before the lights come on and I sit blinded for a moment, trying to figure out exactly what is going on.

When my vision clears, I wish it hadn't. The Gamemaker drags a limp body into the room. Blond hair hangs over the person's face and a sick feeling swirls in my stomach. He leaves the room and comes back with rope in hand, enough to secure the person's hands and legs. It seems like a good sign they aren't dead, if The Gamemaker is bothering to tie them up.

He flips the lights back off when he leaves and the person in the chair doesn't move. It takes me a few minutes to build the nerve to try and get their attention. My mouth is dry and the whisper of my voice is raspy. "Hey…Are you okay?" Still nothing. I can barely see them in the darkness, but they seem to be breathing. ~

Hikaru blinked back to consciousness slowly. His head was foggy and there's someone calling his name but distantly like he was hearing it from under water. When hands shake him Hikaru groaned, trying to to push them away.

"Hikaru! Baby, wake up." His mother pleaded. She pulled him from the floor, leaning him against the wall to try and wake him. Hikaru coughed, eyes trying to focus but his vision was caught between swimming and blacking out.

"Move back please." Another voice. His mother's hands fell away and Hikaru only briefly wondered why before a sharp pain radiated from his arm. Suddenly everything was bright and clear. Hikaru's chest heaved as he stared with panicked eyes at the EMT. "Welcome back."

"Hikaru." He turned his head towards his mother's voice and everything hit him at once. The strange sweet smell, trying to call out to warn his friends. Hikaru struggled, trying to push himself to his feet but hands held him in place.

"Keep still, Mr. Hitachiin. The adrenaline in your system might be making you feel fine, but we don't know the extent of your injuries."

"I'm not injured!" He snapped at the stranger. His mother looked sick with worry, standing just a few feet away and Hikaru wished he could just wrap his arms around her. Instead he took a deep breath, calming his voice as much as possible. "There were others here with me."

"Kyoya is doing fine." Hikaru's father stated quickly. He moved into the room, taking his mother's hand and Hikaru's stomach dropped.

"Tamaki. He was here too. What about him?" The confusion on his parents faces only confirmed Hikaru's fear. "He's not here." Hikaru brushed away the hands still intently looking him over for hidden injuries and struggled to his feet. The scabs on his knees ached with the movement but he grit his teeth.

"Hikaru, please. You need to let them finish looking you over." His mother rushed forward, taking his face in both hands. He couldn't meet her eyes, but he let his hands rest on hers a moment before he spoke.

"I need to see Kyoya." Hikaru wasn't sure why he hadn't seen the older boy already. There were only a room apart last night before….

"Hikaru, wait!" His father's voice is sharp and something like fear spikes in Hikaru. He doesn't have to wonder why for long. A gurney with a black bag rolled out from the kitchen. Hikaru doesn't make it more than a few steps before he gets sick. His father's pat his back, lifting him from the floor. "I'm sorry. We thought…. I didn't know they would be bringing her this way."

For a moment Hikaru was relived. Her. It couldn't have been Tamaki or Kyoya or even Kaoru. When he looked at his mother in tears and Hikaru knew. He doesn't need to hear the words to know who they wheeled out of the house. He leaned heavily on his father and tried to keep himself together. His brother was kidnapped, probably one of his best friends and now Mrs. Chatinch was in a body bag.

"Kyoya." Hikaru managed to bite out. His father was silent as he helped him into the sitting room. Kyoya sat on the couch, stiff and proper as ever with a mask over his face. "He's gone, isn't he?" Kyoya nodded his head slightly.

Hikaru slumped to the couch beside him and stared down at his shaking hands. It took him a moment to focus on the watch on his wrist, but as he did the numbers blinked at him like an ominous reminder. 11:15am. He waited without a word until the EMT gave Kyoya the all clear, slipping her equipment back into a bag.

"You boys really need to be seen by a doctor. We have an ambulance outside." The EMT looked at the seriously and Kyoya shook his head.

"That will not be necessary. I've been in contact with one of my family's healthcare professionals and she is on her way." He removed his glasses from the pocket on the front of his shirt and pushed them on. "Thank you for your assistance."

She looked torn between taking the dismissal and urging them to go to the hospital. The sounds of footsteps leaving the room was muffled on the carpet. Hikaru shot a look to the door, making sure they were the only two in the room before he spoke. "Is it working? The tracker?"

"I'm not sure. The tech is fairly new, but I've notified the force that Tamaki is gone so we should know soon enough." Kyoya's voice was steady but Hikaru could see the worry in the hard set of his friend's jaw. If It didn't work, they'd lost not only Kaoru but Tamaki as well.
