Chapter 6: training and chaos
The next morning both Aja and Rapture woke up and went towards the living area where they spotted Althea putting the babies in a play pen.
"Oh hey you're awake." Althea said.
"I take it everyone is already at the training area?" Aja asked.
"Pretty much, oh Rapture Lifeline is waiting for you at the infirmary; you remember where it is right?"
"Pretty much."
"Meet us at the training area when your appointment is over." Althea yelled as Rapture headed to the infirmary.
"Come on follow me." Althea said as she led Aja towards the training area.
"So who were those kids?" Aja asked.
"My brothers Claudius and Barney, long story." Althea replied.
"Um I know this isn't my place but are the babies going to be okay in that playpen for a while?"
"It's no problem my dad and sisters are there they'll keep an eye on the babies, oh by the way here put this on." Althea said as she handed Aja a green uniform.
"What's this?"
"Oh its training uniforms we wear while doing training," Althea said as the duo arrived at the training area, "There's a changing area in there you can change there."
"Thanks." Aja said as she went in to change.
"So where's the newbie?" Wanda asked as she came over.
"Oh she's inside changing, what's up?"
"Oh looking for my idiot brother he disappeared again."
"Oh no I hope he didn't do what I think he did." Althea groaned as a scream was heard.
"AAH," screamed a voice as Pietro ran out with Aja running behind him throwing things "zhow-nei-how da-se-nei!"
"I don't even want to know what she just said, "Althea groaned, "well at least she got the training outfit on, come on Aja you can kill him later."
"You can't wait five minutes to hit on or peek at the new members." Wanda groaned.
"What can I say the ladies love me right?" Pietro said as him and Wanda went to the training area
Wanda just smirked at him. "Yeah, they love to try and kill you, ya damn perv."
"Okay is everyone here?" Cover Girl asked as she noticed Aja glaring at Pietro after looking around to make sure everyone was accounted for "I don't even want to know."
"Okay for this assignment we want to test everyone's powers by going through the training course."
"Hey Cover Girl I have an idea." Althea said in an evil voice as she whispered something into Cover Girl's ear.
"Okay no problem, Quicksilver and Aja you're up."
"Can't catch me I'm too fast." Quicksilver taunted as he ran off.
"Does he know what my power is?" Aja asked with an evil smirk.
"No but don't hurt him too badly."
"No problem." Aja said as she took off in a blue streak after the annoying speedster.
"Can't catch me." Pietro taunted unaware of the blur catching up to him.
"Wanna bet?" Aja said as she came running up next to him.
"Uh hi, can we talk about this?"
"After you were peaking on me in the changing area, no!"
"So how long you give it?" Todd asked right before Quicksilver came running back and climbed up a tree "never mind."
"Now what did we learn?" Cover Girl asked as Althea held the irate female speedster back.
"Not to get caught peaking." Pietro said.
"No that's what Shipwreck taught you, the other thing."
"Not to peek on women when they are changing or in the shower?"
"Close enough just remember Pietro next time we might not be able to get Aja here calmed down."
"Do I want to know what's going on?" Rapture asked as she walked up wearing a training uniform.
"Oh just Quicksilver being himself," Covergirl replied "so how did it go?"
"It went pretty good Psyche-out found out what was wrong with me and gave me some medication for it, I would have been here sooner but I had to go around and I got a bit lost."
"Why did you have to go around?"
"Oh two guys were having a fight and a bunch of others were trying to break it up."
"Probably Leatherneck and Wetsuit they fight about everything."
"So what do you want me to do?" Rapture asked.
"Go through the course with '' so you know how it's done, we tried to send Quicksilver and Aja but it didn't work out well we are trying to test powers."
"So you want me to use my powers on the course?"
"Only on the first part, after that it's based on skill, which reminds me what do you two want for code names?"
"I'll just stick with Rapture if that's okay, it has good memories."
"No problem, hey Aja."
"What?" Aja asked as she tried to get Pietro down from the tree.
"Stop trying to kill Quicksilver for a second, what do you want your codename to be?"
"Just call me Lightspeed."
"Why did you pick that name?" Althea asked.
"I can run very fast and when I was a kid it was the name of a toy car that I had, no clue why it was named that just was."
"Oh okay." With that said the group got back to training.
Meanwhile somewhere else….
"So now what do we do this music doesn't sound right." Jerrica said as her and the three remaining Holograms were walking out to their car after a concert
"Probably because we are used to playing with five people instead of four." Kimber said in sadness.
"It was her own choice to leave." Shana said coldly.
"Gee with the way you are acting and some other people reacted I wonder why she hasn't come back or contacted us." Raya said sarcastically.
"Raya what's wrong with you, you've been snippy the last few days."
"I'm mad what am I supposed to be the girl you three considered a sister is gone and one of you is treating her like she's a plague because of something out of control."
"I hope she is okay." Kimber said in worry as she noticed Shana did seem to soften a little.
"I should apologies to her; I had problems with mutants I shouldn't blame here for it." Shana said in sadness.
"I guess we just go home for now." Jerrica said as she noticed three people stop in front of them.
"Can we help you?" Raya asked as the three people pulled out a scanner and pictures.
"They're the ones seen with the mutie and I'm detecting mutant readings from one of them but I can't tell who."
"By the authority invested in me by Genosha you are to come with us." One person said suddenly.
"How do you know us?" Kimber asked as the group backed up.
"Your purpled haired male friend was most helpful with the information." One of the three people said.
"Blast it Rio." Jerrica growled at the thought of what her ex boyfriend did.
"Any ideas?" Shana asked.
"Yeah," Jerrica said "RUN!" with that said the group ran off with the three people in pursuit until the people started shooting darts at them.
"Keep running we need to find help." Raya said as she was hit by a dart followed by Jerrica and Shana who passed out shortly after being hit by the darts.
"Hey I need some help." Kimber yelled as a green jeep stopped right in front of her stepping out was a blonde man wearing green.
"Hey you okay?" the blonde man asked.
"I need help these people are chasing after me they said something about Genosha and mutants." Kimber said in panic.
"Stay here." The Blonde man said as he pulled out a walkie talky and a pistol "Hawk this is Rock and Roll we have a situation." Rock and Roll said as he ushered Kimber behind the car "Got it understood."
"What's going on?" Kimber asked.
"I'll make this brief my name is Rock and Roll I work with a military group that assists mutants, I need you to come with me to explain the situation to my c.o and some others he has been getting reports of mutants vanishing recently."
"Okay I have a feeling I can trust you," Kimber said "where do we need to meet with your pick up at?"
"They should be here right about now." Rock and Roll said as someone else teleported in "Kimber this is Jinx she also works with my group."
"Hold on." Jinx said as the three teleported away and landed at the Joe base and walked towards Hawk's office only to hear yelling
"Snake Eyes I know you are worried about your sister but I can't authorize you to go if we don't have any information, I promise as soon as info is known you will be the first to know dismissed." Hawk said as Snake Eyes stormed out the door.
"Sir I brought the person I was referring to." Rock and Roll said.
"Thank you Rock and Roll, you must be Kimber." Hawk said.
"How do you know my name?" Kimber asked.
"I'll explain later, but first I need to hear this information you have about these people abducting mutants."
Kimber proceeded to tell the events that happened earlier.
"Kimber thank you for telling me this information you are actually the first witness that had heard anything about these groups."
"Sir why would these people abduct us, none of us are mutants but one of us was picked up as a mutant on a scanner?"
"I honestly can't say, but in the meantime why don't you stay here for now, you can stay with a couple of the other mutants here."
"Thank you sir, sir I asked this earlier but how do you know my name?"
"Its half government information and half through a mutual acquaintance."
"Rock and Roll you are dismissed Jinx please show Ms. Benton where she will be staying."
"Yes sir." Both Joes said as they left.
"So your team trains mutants?"
"Pretty much we have some teenagers and a couple adults we took in recently, they should be back from training right about now."
"AAAH." Pietro screamed as he ran by with Wanda in hot pursuit screaming about a diary.
"Okay some of the mutants are a bit unhinged."
"Get back here you loons!" Althea screamed as she chased after her sisters who was chasing after Todd with some kind of electrical device.
"Is this normal?" Kimber asked.
"Pretty much." Jinx said.
"Kimber is that you?" asked a voice as Kimber turned around and was surprised who she saw.
"Rapture what are you doing here?"
"Long story this group rescued me after my powers acted up and that riot started." "I'm not the only one either."
Kimber turned around and was surprised who else she saw.
"Aja oh thank goodness we were worried sick." Kimber said as she ran up to hug her foster sister.
"I'm sorry I worried you." Aja said.
"Why didn't you tell us where you were?"
"I had a bit of freak out and had to get my head on straight."
"Kimber what are you doing here?"
"This group they took the others they said something about scanners and mutants I got away when I ran into Rock and Roll and he brought me back here." "The general said it might be safer if I stayed here for a bit."
"Oh you met Hawk."
"You know him?"
"Sort of he knew my father."
"So who's this?" Wanda asked as she came back dragging Pietro by the ear (while ignoring his whining).
"This is my foster sister Kimber, Kimber these are Wanda and her brother Pietro they are some of the mutants that live here."
"Hi nice to meet you." Wanda said.
"Ow let go of my beautiful ear." Pietro whined.
"Suck it up you big baby." Wanda said as she dragged Pietro off.
"Come on I'll show you where you'll be crashing at." Aja said as she led Kimber into the building.
Meanwhile in Hawk's office….
"Duke assemble the Joe team we have a situation." Hawk said.
