First off, many thanks to those who reviewed this fic. I really appreciated it and this gave me more inspiration to work on the next chapter, which you are about to read on below. I promise you that this chapter will keep you glued as the story is now underway.
Looks like the problem has further intensified as Taiki and Tagiru are captured and sent to Magic Land, yet both managed to escape but are being pursued by their abductors, and now Izumi Orimoto is abducted by Auma and plans to use her to "change" Japan, which will affect most of the Xros Hearts characters.
Well, that's the summary I can tell you right now, but you'll soon see where this would lead to, so here is the second chapter, so read and enjoy!
Ch. 11: Henkan
However, the atmosphere became tense as the scene shows that the entire sky slowly went dark and as everyone looked out side, they noticed that an eclipse-like phenomenon has taken place, making it look like it was night time yet the actual time is now 15:00, and there the Clock Shop Owner noticed that a strange light is emanating from the tallest skyscraper, and soon several helicopters began to fly towards the skyscraper, among them a news crew and they finally caught a footage where it shows the Gold Wizard standing on the roof with an unconscious Izumi floating, in which it was broadcast live.
However, the Gold Wizard noticed this and places his right hand in front of the Wizardriver and casts a spell to deal with the helicopters, and the next scene shows what happened, that would cause everyone in japan to feel fear at what they witnessed from the TV screens.
Wizardriver: "BLAST...NOW!"
A strong gust of wind emanated from a magic circle and struck the helicopters, causing the two flying vehicles to lose control and collided, exploding before falling to the ground, burning several pedestrians on the spot, and the Gold Wizard began to perform a magic ritual as he intends to change Japan to his version of his liking, as strange lights began to lit and then it slowly formed what appeared to be a diamond-shaped field, and the citizens began to panic as they think that the "Apocalypse" is approaching.
By then Takuya Kanbara arrived after being informed the the national Security Agency's Section Zero about the footage of Izumi and the Gold Wizard at Kyoto, and the teen entered the building and went for the rooftop via the stairs, and feeling that time is running out, he uses his magic ring to summon a "Bind" spell a chain appeared and he uses it to pull himself up and he got faster until reaching the penthouse level, and by then he finally reached the rooftop where he sees Izumi being used in a ritual and the Gold Wizard is rather surprised to see the teen, and a brief exchange of words took place.
"You!"
"Ah...the so-called "ring-bearing Wizard"...an honor to meet you..."
"Are you...the Gold Wizard?"
"My, my...you knew about me already? I must compliment you on that..."
"You attacked my friends...then you took Izumi..."
"Yes, I did...and I have no qualms on that..."
"What are you going to do?"
"To change Japan...this country has gotten soft after surrendering to the "Allied Powers" after World War II...and I intend to change that..turn this weakened country into a "super power"...a Japan that will rule all over the world...and not even that damn America can withstand the era I intend to make!"
Takuya blinked his eyes at hearing this and wondered if the Gold Wizard is actually a near-centenarian as World War II took place over 100 years ago, and demanded an explanation to what he just said and what does this have to do with Izumi and attacking the American Embassy and the various government facilities in Tokyo and for causing bloodshed in Kyoto and Shibuya, in which the Gold Wizard laughed diabolically and proclaimed that he will explain himself.
As the Gold Wizard began explaining to Takuya his reasons, a news TV crew managed to sneak their way in and caught the two and overheard them talking, in which the cameraman took live footage of the Gold Wizard explaining his intentions, from which the Gold Wizard began explaining about the Meiji Restoration, in which the formation in 1866 of the Satsuma-Chōshū Alliance between Saigō Takamori, the leader of the Satsuma domain, and Kido Takayoshi, the leader of the Chōshū domain, built the foundation of the Meiji restoration. These two leaders supported the Emperor Kōmei (the Emperor's father) and were brought together by Sakamoto Ryōma for the purpose of challenging the ruling Tokugawa Shogunate (bakufu) and restoring the Emperor to power. On February 3, 1867, the Meiji emperor ascended the throne after Emperor Kōmei's death on January 30, 1867. This period also saw Japan change from being a feudal society to having a market economy and left the Japanese with a lingering Western influence.
There were many causes to the Meiji Restoration. The Japanese knew that they were behind the rest of the world when American Commodore Matthew C. Perry came to Japan to try to issue a treaty that would open up Japanese ports to trade. Perry came to Japan in large warships with armament and technology that far outclassed those of Japan at the time. The leaders of the Meiji Restoration, as this revolution came to be known, acted in the name of restoring imperial rule in order to strengthen Japan against the threat represented by the colonial powers of the day. The word "Meiji" means "enlightened rule" and the goal was to combine "western advances" with the traditional, "eastern" values. The main leaders of this were: Itō Hirobumi, Matsukata Masayoshi, Kido Takayoshi, Itagaki Taisuke, Yamagata Aritomo, Mori Arinori, Ōkubo Toshimichi, and Yamaguchi Naoyoshi. Under the leadership of Mori Arinori, a group of prominent Japanese intellectuals went on to form the Meiji Six Society in 1873 in order to continue to "promote civilization and enlightenment" through western ethics and ideas. However, during the restoration, political power simply moved from the Tokugawa Shogunate to an oligarchy consisting of these leaders, mostly from the Satsuma Province (Ōkubo Toshimichi and Saigō Takamori), and Chōshū Province (Itō Hirobumi, Yamagata Aritomo, and Kido Takayoshi). This reflected their belief in the more traditional practice of imperial rule, whereby the Emperor of Japan serves solely as the spiritual authority of the nation and his ministers govern the nation in his name.
Then the Gold Wizard began explaining about the Meiji Restoration. This reflected their belief in the more traditional practice of imperial rule, whereby the Emperor of Japan serves solely as the spiritual authority of the nation and his ministers govern the nation in his name.
The Gold Wizard stated this was among the reasons why he is disgusted that Japan let an American intimidate them in doing their bidding for "open trade", and then went on to explain about another of Japan "embracing" the Western influence in which The Meiji Restoration accelerated industrialization in Japan, which led to its rise as a military power by the year 1905, under the slogan of "Enrich the country, strengthen the military".
The Meiji oligarchy that formed the government under the rule of the Emperor first introduced measures to consolidate their power against the remnants of the Edo period government, the shogunate, daimyo, and the samurai class.
In 1868, all Tokugawa lands were seized and placed under "imperial control", thus placing them under the prerogative of the new Meiji government. With Fuhanken Sanchisei, the areas were split into three types: urban prefectures, rural prefectures and the already existing domains. In 1869, the daimyo of the Tosa, Hizen, Satsuma and Chōshū domains, who were pushing most fiercely against the shogunate, were persuaded to 'return their domains to the Emperor'. Other daimyo were subsequently persuaded to do so, thus creating, arguably for the first time, a central government in Japan which exercised direct power through the entire 'realm'.
Finally, in 1871, the daimyo, past and present, were summoned before the Emperor, where it was declared that all domains were now to be returned to the Emperor. The roughly 300 domains were turned into prefectures, each under the control of a state-appointed governor. By 1888, several prefectures had been merged in several steps to reduce their number to 75. The daimyo were promised 1/10 of their fiefs' income as private income. Later, their debts and payments of samurai stipends were to be taken over by the state.
Throughout Japan at the time, the samurai numbered 1.9 million. (For comparison, this was more than 10 times the size of the French privileged class before the 1789 French Revolution. Moreover, the samurai in Japan were not merely the lords, but also their higher retainers—people who actually worked.) With each samurai being paid fixed stipends, their upkeep presented a tremendous financial burden, which may have prompted the oligarchs to action. Whatever their true intentions, the oligarchs embarked on another slow and deliberate process to abolish the samurai class. First, in 1873, it was announced that the samurai stipends were to be taxed on a rolling basis. Later, in 1874, the samurai were given the option to convert their stipends into government bonds. Finally, in 1876, this commutation was made compulsory.
To reform the military, the government instituted nationwide conscription in 1873, mandating that every male would serve in the armed forces upon turning 21 for four years; followed by three more years in the reserves. One of the primary differences between the samurai and peasant class was the right to bear arms; this ancient privilege was suddenly extended to every male in the nation. Furthermore, samurai were no longer allowed to walk about town bearing a sword or weapon to show their status as in former times.
This led to a series of riots from disgruntled samurai. One of the major riots was the one led by Saigō Takamori, the Satsuma Rebellion, which eventually turned into a civil war. This rebellion was, however, put down swiftly by the newly formed Imperial Japanese Army, trained in Western tactics and weapons, even though the core of the new army was the Tokyo police force, which was largely composed of former samurai. This sent a strong message to the dissenting samurai that their time was indeed over. There were fewer subsequent samurai uprisings and the distinction became all but a name as the samurai joined the new society. The ideal of samurai military spirit lived on in romanticized form and was often used as propaganda during the early 20th century wars of the Empire of Japan.
However, it is equally true that the majority of samurai were content despite having their status abolished. Many found employment in the government bureaucracy, which resembled an elite class in its own right. The samurai, being better educated than most of the population, became teachers, gun makers, government officials, or military officers. While the formal title of samurai was abolished, the elitist spirit that characterized the samurai class lived on.
The oligarchs also embarked on a series of land reforms. In particular, they legitimized the tenancy system which had been going on during the Tokugawa period. Despite the bakufu's best efforts to freeze the four classes of society in place, during their rule villagers had begun to lease land out to other farmers, becoming rich in the process. This greatly disrupted the clearly defined class system which the bakufu had envisaged, partly leading to their eventual downfall.
The military of Japan was also strengthened, and they showed themselves as a growing world power by winning both the Sino-Japanese war, and the Russo-Japanese war.
Besides drastic changes to the social structure of Japan, in an attempt to create a strong centralized state defining its national identity, the government established a dominant national dialect that replaced local and regional dialects called hyojungo, which was based on patterns of the Tokyo's samurai classes that has eventually become the norm in the realms of education, media, government and business.
Within the 1900's, the Gold Wizard claimed that Japan had the chance to display its dominance, which years later led to World War I and II, and before the fall of Japan by an atomic bomb dropped by American forces, he stated that he is dying and wished he could live longer to see Japan "reach greater heights", and there the Digimon identified only as the Wiseman appeared and offered him a way and chance to realize his goal in exchange for serving him. And there he served Wiseman faithfully and was rewarded in which Wiseman magically reverted his age by half, making him a 50-year old man again and learned to use magic and led to the current events, in which he monitored Takuya's activities up to this point, and is disgusted at the current status of Japan, and there he made himself clear that he will re-shape Japan into the "superpower" that the country is meant to be before it fell to the Allied Powers towards the aftermath of World War II, which caused Takuya to become alarmed when he deduced what the villain meant.
"No way..."
"..."
"You mean you're going to...?"
"Yes, I will reshape Japan to what I truly desire...to make it into the "superpower" it supposed to be..."
"Japan is happy with the way it is! you can't just..."
"The current rulers of Japan are fools...weaklings...they are even willing to let America get away g\for dropping that atomic bomb to this country in 1944...Japan is the potential to rule the world...and I will see to it that Japan is changed...for the better!"
"I won't let you!"
"You can't stop me...ever."

At the Japanese Palace, the Emperor saw and heard the conversation between Takuya and the Gold Wizard, and deduced that he is responsible for the chaos that struck Shibuya and Kyoto, as well as the incident at the American Embassy and the armed forces, and there he picked up the telephone and called all of the army, SWAT and police authorities and had them mobilized and head for Shibuya and take down the Gold Wizard through any means necessary, and soon, the army is mobilized and heads out for the skyscraper in Shibuya while police began cordoning the area to keep civilians and onlookers back, while more soldiers are deployed in case the Armored Mages make an attack again, while the Emperor continued to watch the live footage on TV.

At the Clock Shop, Akari, Zenjirou, Yuu, Ryouma, Airu and Ren watched the live footage and realized that the Gold Wizard may be telling the truth about his background given how he describe his heritage canonically yet they are concerned at what he is planning to do, which Zenjirou dislike the villain's intention to "screw up" Japan his way and urged the rest to go and stop him, which the others agreed, save for the Hunters.
"No way..."
"Is he for real?"
"I suppose he is..."
"Come on! We're not going to let that armored megalomaniac of a magician to screw up Japan! We got to stop him!"
"I agree!"
"We'd better go there!"
"Who's with me!"
"I'm coming!"
"Let's go, then!"
By then Yuu, Akari and Zenjirou leaves the shop and head for Shibuya to stop the Gold Wizard, despite the Clock Shop Owner's warning, yet he is surprised to see the Hunters opting to stay and observe before they make their own move, stating that given what the Mages are capable of, it is likely that the Gold Wizard is strong enough to repel Japan's current army, and they resumed watching the live footage on TV.

Back at the rooftop within Shibuya, the Gold Wizard then invited Takuya in to joining him in re-shaping Japan, in which Takuya flatly refused and demanded that he release Izumi, only for the Gold Wizard to laugh and mock the teen for being a fool and said that he will only release her once her "usefulness" has been outlived, and there Takuya verbally lashed out at the villain for causing damage in parts of Japan.
"I won't join you in screwing this country! I won't give in to a madman like you!"
"That's a pity..."
"Release Izumi right now!"
"Only when I no longer needed her...so wait for a while..."
"I'll stop you!"
"Give it up...you have no chance of stopping me..."
"I'll stop you even if i die!"
"Then come and try it..."
By then the Japanese army soldiers arrived, and surrounded the Gold Wizard and demanded his surrender, which he laughed and mocked them for being weak and for serving a "weak emperor" as he tells them that Japan must become the "superpower" and make the Western countries pay for humiliating Japan, in which the soldiers rebuked and open fire, only for them to realize that their weapons couldn't touch him, and the Gold Wizard responded by using a Lightning spell and electrocuted the soldiers, killing them.
Seeing where this lead to, Takuya placed his right hand in front of the Wizardriver to initiate his transformation into the "ring-bearing Wizard" and began charging towards the Gold Wizard, but the Gold Wizard simply blocked his way and engaged in a fight and surprised the teen that he is a very experienced fighter, repulsing him with kicks and punches while the ritual is ongoing and is halfway in towards it completion.
Wizardriver: "CONNECT...PLEASE..."
Wizard uses a magic spell and summoned his Wi-Sword-Gun to use in his fight, and this prompted the Gold Wizard to follow suit and armed himself as well.
Wizardriver: "CONNECT...NOW..."
The weapon he summoned was the Dis Halberd, a weapon that resembled a sorcerer's staff with an axe affixed on the tip's top. By then the two wizards collided with their weapons, clashing as one of them tries to outmaneuver the other, with Wizard trying to get past the other in order to reach out to Izumi and pull her out of the ritual formation but he was being prevented by the Gold Wizard, who then places his right hand in front of his Wizardriver and activated a magic spell through his magic ring.
Wizardriver: "EXPLOSION...NOW!"
A powerful explosion struck Wizard and was thrown back, and narrowly dodged a descending axe strike from the Gold Wizard, yet this kept the teen from reaching out to the still-unconscious Izumi, and by then more army soldiers arrived and took their position to attack the Gold Wizard, and Wizard spoke to the team captain and told him that the soldiers stood no chance against the Gold Wizard but suggested that they try to get Izumi out of here while he holds off the villain.
"Wait!"
"Out of the way!"
"You stood no chance against him!"
"What?"
"I'll deal with him...get that girl out of here!"
"...very well..."
"I'll cover you..."
"Okay...everyone, follow my lead!"
Understanding the teen's suggestion, the soldiers then went towards the ritual formation to retrieve Izumi as Wizard engages the Gold Wizard in combat, managing to keep him from advancing further, but the villain scoffed as he places his right hand in front of the Wizardriver and activated another magic spell as his magic ring glowed, this time another powerful spell is unleashed, nearly hitting Wizard.
Wizardriver: "LIGHTNING...NOW!"
A powerful lightning strike hits the soldiers, electrocuting them all which resulted in their deaths, and Wizard became concerned and tries to use a magic spell only for the Gold Wizard to beat him first, using a Gust spell which emits a strong wind to throw him off the roof, and as the villain starts to oversee his plans, Yuu, Nene, Kiriha, Akari and Zenjirou arrived, and got off from Mervamon and there the teens confronted the villain, demanding that he stop this foolishness at once.
"Stop!"
"We won't let you!"
"You've gone too far!"
"You killed a lot of people!"
"Ah...the "Chosen Generals"...how amusing...coming here to congratulate me..."
"We'll stop you!"
"You don't need to change Japan!"
"Our country is peaceful...there is no need to turn it into a dictator-like country!"
"So please stop whatever you're doing!"
"You'll see that what you're doing is wrong!"
"Hah! You are nothing but fools! Japan must change...we are destined to rule!"
"Blast it!"
By then, Yuu realized that negotiating with the villain is useless and sent Damemon to go after the villain, with Nene directing Mervamon to provide aerial assault, Zenjirou sends Ballistamon to assist Damemon, and Kirihira sends Greymon and Mail-Birdramon as well, and the Digimons fired their attacks at the villain, but the Gold Wizard uses a Reflect spell to block and send the attacks back at the Digimons, then uses a Chain spell to bind the Digimons, and the teens, in chains, the uses the Lightning spell to attack the Digimons in maximum power, injuring the Digimons which forces them back onto the X-Loaders, and laughed at the teens' sorry state, just as Wizard returned, having assumed a green form - the Hurricane Style - and attempts to use flight and speed to get to Izumi, only for the Gold Wizard to use the Chain spell and pulled him away.
"Uh-uh-uh..."
"Oooofff!"
"I can't let you interrupt this important event..."
"I won't let you kill her!"
"Really...?"
"Release her..."
"I will...in a few moments..."
"What?"
Seeing that the ritual is 98% complete, the Gold Wizard then puts on another magic ring on his right middle finger and then places his hand in front of the Wizardriver to activate a new spell.
Wizardriver: "CREATE...NOW!"
By then, a magic spell started to take effect, in which it causes a rainbow tornado to appear from the sky, and it was enormous that it enveloped the whole of Japan, causing panic among its citizens as the tornado started to envelope the country, and started to cause something to Japan, and started to whisk away Yuu, Nene, Zenjirou, Kiriha and Akari away, as well as the entire population of Japan, further causing panic.
At the Clock Shop, the Clock Shop Owner uses his X-Loader and activated the portal, pulling Ryouma, Airu and Ren and himself through it and narrowly escaped the tornado's effects, though they realized that they can't do anything at this point and they'll have to wait and see before making their next move.
Back at the rooftop, Wizard is using his own power to fight his way through the tornado's power and tries to reach out to Izumi, who is also being whisked away, and managed to grab her hand yet the two are eventually whisked and disappeared within the tornado, in which a larger tornado appeared and started to absorb other countries, slowly causing something to change within Earth, and at this point there is no telling what effects it can cause to the entire planet.
To Be Continued…
Looks like Auma succeeded in his plans as the ritual has been completed, and both the Chosen Generals and Takuya have been enveloped by the tornado...and at this point it is unclear what will happen to Japan...but one thing is for sure...the Hunters, Taiki and Tagiru are still safe...though it remains to be seen if they managed to head back to Kyoto after all that has happened...
Preview:
The next chapter will how what has happened to Japan following the ritual...and Takuya will be shocked once he sees this...while Taiki and Tagiru managed to head for home...only to witness something they did not expect to see...
