Vgn: Anyway, before we begin, I would like to say that my Friend Angry9guy will take the reins of writing this chapter. Take it away, bud.
Angry9guy: Hello, everyone. Angry9guy is here helping Vgn Golley again, so I bet you guys have been wondering why the long wait, huh? Well, life has a way of getting the way of stuff. Besides, writing stories isn't easy.
Sonic: [Zooms over to appear beside Warren] Yeah, writing stories is fun, but you gotta put in the extra work for the setting and the atmosphere to look good also so I can look good.
Angry9guy: Exactly [Zooms off]

Vgn, Warren, and Sonic: NOW LET'S GET ON WITH THE STORY!
It was a cool and tranquil night in Station Square as we cue to a random alleyway and see a stoic Knuckles sitting alone on a bucket, brooding like usual as a loose newspaper blew onto his leg and Knuckles reaches down to grab the newspaper as he glanced down at it and frowned in annoyance as he saw a picture of Sonic and Warren battling with Eggman and the Red Echidna lets it go as it blew away in the wind and Knuckles went back to his brooding as a flashback appeared in his mind and remembered the good old times of him guarding Master Emerald at Angel Island with a smiling Warren trying to entertain him by showing him a new trick with his powers as Present Day Knuckles smiled amusedly, but then flinched in surprise as an unknown figure walked into the alleyway and steps into the light, revealing itself to be Dr. Eggman himself.
"What do you want, Eggman?" Knuckles asked with a glare while jumping off from the bucket as Eggman glared down at him with an emotionless glare on his face...before his face scrunched up in anguish and somberness as Eggman got on his knees before the surprised Echnida.
"Please help me, Knuckles!" Eggman exclaimed with his words catching Knuckles off guard as he then gasped in surprise when Eggman reached over to grab his hands and started explaining his distress. "If we don't do something fast, Sonic could make us prisoners on this planet forever!" Eggman yelled with Knuckles looking shocked by this as he narrowed his eyes at him suspiciously. "If we can gather all seven of the Chaos Emeralds, there's a fighting chance that we can somehow reverse the effect that sent us to this world and return to where we came from! Sonic knew he could use the Chaos Emeralds to warp himself through time and space!"
"That's the reason he attacked Chaos Control! He found out that I collected all the Chaos Emeralds to keep them out of his grasp! You know how reckless Sonic is! I was afraid of what he might do if he got hold of the Emeralds, so I set up defenses, but there was no stopping Sonic! He was determined to push his selfish search for thrills all the way this time, no matter who got hurt! And what's worse is that he had dragged Warren into this and convinced the Young Boy that what he was doing was the right thing! I tried to stop Sonic from doing his reckless plan and convince Warren that the selfish Hedgehog was using him, but they ignored me, and, much to my horror, Sonic finally achieved his goal! Sonic destroyed Chaos Control and sent us all here just for the fun of it!" Eggman says as there was a flashback of Sonic destroying Eggman's robots with the help of Warren and breaking into the base as they caused Chaos Control.
"Sonic caused it? Sonic...he's crazy!" A stunned Knuckles screamed, completely believing what Eggman said even though he shouldn't be judging due to the numerous times that the Evil Doctor lied to him and the many plotholes in Eggman's explanation.
"After ending up in this world, I finally came to my senses. I want to spend the rest of my years quietly in my homeland. I've changed my ways and want to live in peace, but Sonic won't let me!" Eggman screamed while crying comically as he used a handkerchief to wipe away his fake tears and then blew on his nose as a mischievous gleam appeared in his eyes that told the readers that he was clearly bluffing.
"But Sonic won't listen to me at all! In fact, he stole the Chaos Emeralds from me! He doesn't want to collect the emeralds to get back home! He's having too much fun running around this world with those special legs of his! What can I do? He won't even give me a chance to fix things! I want to get us back, but when I found one of the Chaos Emeralds, you know what happened! Sonic snatched it from me and said he's going to stay here as long as he pleases, and if I try to tell Warren the truth, he would break my legs! When I tried to ask him why he would corrupt such an innocent child, Sonic says that he never cared about Warren and just wanted to use him as a sidekick to do his bidding!"
"That...that...selfish, evil bastard! How could he?!" Knuckles asked with a glare as he clenched his fists, feeling his brotherly instincts kick in as he wanted nothing more but to smash Sonic's face in.
"I know, right? I mean, Sonic must know that you need to return to your homeland as soon as possible to guard the Master Emerald, but it seems that Sonic doesn't care because he said that we can't leave here until he says so! He thinks this world's a lot more fun than ours, and if we don't agree, it's our tough luck!" Eggman yelled as a thick mark appeared on Knuckle's head, and the Guardian of the Master Emerald gritted his teeth as he was extremely mad now, but there was a small part of him telling him not to believe him, only for his doubt to be immediately extinguished by his unbridled rage. "He doesn't care about his friends! You'd think he'd be more concerned about his buddy!"
"Sonic isn't my buddy! I'm sick and tired of Sonic turning everything into a game! Sending us to this world against our will is one thing, but corrupting and using Warren? Now, that's crossing the line! Either Sonic gives us that Emerald or I'm going to take it from him!"
"Definitely, Now, please believe this poor old man! Be careful! Sonic says he'll crush anybody who tries to get it back!"
"Okay. I'll go settle things once and for all. If Sonic refuses to hand over the emerald, then we will have a fierce battle to the bitter end." Knuckles says with a serious glare on his face as he turned around to jump off and walk away, not knowing that Eggman was grinning evilly and chuckling at how easy it was to trick him. "Don't believe him. Don't have a repeat of the past. Sonic's the one that helped you realize what you did." A small thought appeared in Knuckles's head as memories of the past appeared in his mind where Eggman constantly lied and tricked him, but Knuckles's jealousy and anger for Sonic blinded him from seeing the very obvious truth as he walked off and, unknown to him, a dark silhouette can be seen spying on them.

"Whoa, a Chaos Emerald!" An amazed Chris says as we cut to the next day and appear at the Thorndyke mansion, specifically Chuck's workshop, as we see Warren, Tails, and Chris admiring the green shiny Chaos Emerald stored inside a machine in the workshop, and Chuck could be seen sitting nearby in his chair. "Does anybody know where they come from or how they work?" Chris asked as Warren turned to shake his head.
"Nobody knows much except that they're really powerful...hmmm, maybe Knuckles will know since he's the Guardian of the Master Emerald, but I haven't really asked him yet," Warren says while placing a thoughtful hand on his chin as Chuck smiled.
"I hope my analysis reveals something about its makeup," Chuck said as, before anyone could respond to that, everyone suddenly flinched when they heard a knocking noise from beneath the trap door that leads to the workshop.
"Mr. Thorndyke? I'm determined to clean your room today! I know you're in there! You haven't let me clean your room in so long I'm issuing a dirt alert!" A Female Voice Rang Out while knocking on the trap door vigorously as a panicking Chris turned to his Friends.
"Oh, no! Quick, you guys, hide!" Chris ordered worriedly as Warren swiftly teleported out of sight.
"Wait, Warren! You forgot about me!" A nervous Tail yelled while flailing his hands around as the trap door began opening and, thinking quickly, Tails jumped over to flop down onto a nearby beanbag chair, pretending he was a stuffed animal as the trap door was fully opened and a Maid climbed up to the attic.
The Maid is a 5'4-feet-tall, 38-year-old Woman with dark blue eyes that have two long eyelashes, thin black eyebrows, curly brown hair, a large nose, red lipstick, a sharp chin, Light Brown Skin, a short plump build, and her outfit consists of a light blue dress with a celeste collar/buttons/sleeves, yellow earrings, a white apron with prink frills, and yellow slippers. Her name is Ella, the Housemaid of the Thorndyke Family as she's responsible for cooking, cleaning, and other housework-related activities around the Thorndyke Mansion.
"Oh, Chris, there you are," Ella said while walking up to the maid as a nervously sweating Chris leaned back against a wall to try and act casual. "I thought I'd find you up here."
"Oh...hi there, Ella," Chris says with a weak smile as Ella smiled back at him warmly before she began vacuuming the room.
"Hmm...keeping this room dust-free is a losing battle. Not that I'm complaining, but it's like trying to vacuum a dirt road! I-," Ella said before cutting herself off as she spotted a frozen Tails, and her face brightened in glee as Chuck and Chris became worried. "Awww, he's so precious! Is this your toy, Christopher?" Ella asked sweetly while bending down to Tails' level as Chris rubbed the back of his head awkwardly.
"Uh...I'm taking care of it...for a friend..."
"Ah, noted. Hmmm, you know what? This toy almost looks real to me." Ella says while staring at Tails curiously as his eyes glanced in her direction and Ella looked surprised by this as Chris noticed this and was quick to fix the situation by running over to snatch up Tails.
"I think I'll go outside and play,"
"He, he, me too!" Chuck said as he and Chris left the workshop with Ella watching them go suspiciously as she hummed.
"Wow, Tails, that was a close call!" Chris says while giving a laughing Tails a piggyback ride as they and Chuck were now placed outside as they can be seen running across the lawn. "I'm sure glad she didn't find out."
"You can say that again, but we sure fooled her!" Chuck said as the Trio shared a laugh, not spotting Sonic resting on the railing above them as Warren sat beside him while swinging his legs around.
"What are they doing? Can't I nap in peace?" An irritated Sonic asked as Warren turned to him with an amused grin on his face.
"But you always take naps, Sonic." Warren says with Sonic shrugging a bit while mumbling 'Yeah, you're right' as the Duo then glanced down and spotted a laughing Chris and Chuck accidentally bumping right into Mr. Tanaka, the Thorndyke Butler.
"Master Chris, what, may I ask, is going on?" Tanaka asked with his glasses glinting across the sunlight as Chris smiled up at him nervously.
"Um, we, uh, we're just playing catch with a stuffed animal," Chris said while laughing to disguise his white lie as he then scurried off while muttering 'Bye' under his breath as he and Tails left Chuck alone with Tanaka.
"I think I'll-,"
"Sir, while I commend your desire to stay fit, I would stick to adult sports like bowling," Tanaka said, interrupting the Old Scientist as Chuck scoffed and rolled his eyes as he crossed his arms.
"You can't tell me what to do. I'll play ring-around-the-Rosie if I-"
"Perhaps you should slow down." Tanaka interrupted again, looking sterner than ever as he glared at the nervously sweating Old Man stoically. "Rest is important, and I believe it's time for your nap."
"I don't need a nap!"
"You can play later-"
"But I have work to do!"
"Come along, Mr. Thorndyke," Tanaka says while ignoring Chuck as he started pushing him past a surprised Chris and, when they were soon out of sight, is when Tails decided to quit playing the stuffed animal act as he jumped off of Chris's back and the Young Boy breathes a sigh of relief...only to then yelp in surprise as Amy appeared out of nowhere and collided against the Boys as she accidentally sends everyone sprawling onto the ground with Sonic and Warren took notice of this as they glanced down interestedly.
"Amy! You know it's dangerous to go wandering around here by yourself!" A stern and concerned Chris yelled while getting up from the floor with the others doing the same thing as Amy gave him a worried look.
"I'm sorry, Chris, but I just saw a news report! It looks like they just found another Chaos Emerald!"
"Really?" Warren asked curiously while teleporting down to the others as Chris and Tails blinked in surprise.
"Yeah, the news report says that there were strange energy spikes coming from an area called 'Silver Valley',"
"Are you sure that it came from a Chaos Emerald?" Tails doubtfully as Amy nodded.
"Definitely. I mean, the news report said that the strange energy spikes are causing computers and machinery across the entire region to wreak havoc."
"Oh, that's something only a Chaos Emerald can do." Warren pointed out with a beam as Chris smirked slyly.
"You know something, guys? Silver Valley isn't very far from here. Let's check it out!" Chris said as everyone nodded, and Amy turned around to glance up at a closed-eyed Sonic, who had his arms placed behind his head and had rested his legs on the railing casually.
"Hey, Sonic! You heard what I said?" Amy asked as Sonic cracked an eye open in response. "It seems to be a beautiful place, so I'd like to go on a picnic with you, Sonic. We're all going to Silver Valley. Come on."
"We're not going on a picnic, Amy. We're going for the Emerald." Tails reminded as Warren nodded.
"Yeah. We got a mission."
"Hmmm...nah, I'll pass. I've already been to Silver Valley before." Sonic says with a shrug while closing his eye as he turned his head, and a surprised Amy gasped at what he said.
"You went without me?! So you stopped there during one of your runs, huh?"
"Yep, you guessed it," Sonic says dryly while rolling his eyes a little as Warren giggles but shuts up as Amy shot him a fierce glare. "That's why I'm sitting this out."
"Fine, Sonic! Come on! We'll have more fun without him anyhow!" Amy yelled with a huff, throwing a hissy fit as a worried Chris placed his hand on his chin thoughtfully.
"But Mr. Tanaka took Grandpa away. How do we get there without a car when Grandpa is resting? And I can't ask Mr. Tanaka to drive for obvious reasons...oh, wait, I have an idea. Warren, can you teleport us there?" Chris asked eagerly as Warren shakes his head with a frown.
"No, it's too far. Besides, even if I could teleport that far, I have to know where I'm going to teleport, and I've never been to Silver Valley before." Warren explained as Tails hummed lightly under his breath, and an idea popped into his head as he beamed.
"Hey, guys, I have an idea. While I can't drive us there, or else we're gonna get spotted, I do know another way to get to Silver Valley."
"What's that?" Chris asked curiously with Tails whispering his plan to the others as, unknown to them, the dark silhouette from before can be seen spying on them from the trees.
"He, he, this place seems like fun. I wonder what I can do?" The silhouette says with a giggle as, after fast forwarding in time, we see the Group riding around in a train with the Mobians pretending to be stuffed animals as they sat around Chris, who had an exasperated frown on his face as several people were staring at them.
"Those stuffed animals are really cute!"
"Isn't he a little old for those toys?"
"Man, that is so lame, I would never date a loser like him." Various People Said with the last few being cute girls around Chris's age as the Rich Boy groaned in embarrassment and blushed.
"Ugh, this puts a huge blow to my manly self-esteem..."
"Oh, quit whining, tough guy," Amy whispered while rolling her eyes as Tails smirked smugly.
"Besides, we're doing a pretty good job tricking them. We're almost at our stop." Tails as a thought appeared in Warren's head.
"Hey, guys, I just realized something. Why didn't we take Tails's Plane in order to fly to Silver Valley?"
"...You couldn't have said that BEFORE we took the train and my masculinity was ruined?" Chris asked Warren with a blank, annoyed glare as the Mobius Rabbit gave him an innocent look and giggled.
"Hey, Guys, I need to blink. What do I do?" Amy asked before yelping in pain as a Little Girl reached over to grab Amy's ear and started pulling on it as she turned over to her Sleeping Mother.
"How cute! I want one like this. I want this! I want this!" The Little Girl says as Amy grunts in suppressed rage while glaring at her as Warren and the others looked worried. "Wake up, Mommy! Look it! Oh, please! Can I have one?! Please, Mommy, please? You said I could have a toy if I was good! I want it!"
"Happy thoughts, Amy, happy thoughts," Warren whispered to a heavily pissed-off Amy as he was trying to calm her down before she does something stupid. "Just breathe. You're a leaf. A leaf in a calm stream-,"
"FUCK THE STREAM!" Amy screamed with fiery eyes as she turned to glare at the Little Girl. "DON'T TOUCH ME! THE ONLY ONE WHO GETS TO TOUCH ME IS MY DARLING SONIC!" Amy screamed while kicking the Girl into the far wall, alerting the now-wakened-up Mother as she saw her Daughter crying on the floor. "Ah, now, if only I could blink, everything would be perfect." Amy said to herself with a smile...before noticing that everyone on the train was staring at them in shock at the fact that one of the toys turned out to be sentient and alive. "Ah, crapbaskets..."
"Warren, teleport us out of here now!" Chris yelled with Warren nodding just as the train stopped at its tracks as everyone arrived at their next stop, and Warren quickly teleported himself out of the Train as the Little Rabbit Boy ran off, accidentally leaving behind Chris and the others as they gave the Train Passengers nervous smiles before jumping off their seats as the Group ran out of the Train and followed after the Mobius Rabbit. Meanwhile, back at the Thorndyke Mansion, we see Sonic still relaxing on the balcony as, suddenly, a small cute humanoid machine appeared and flew over to land on the railing as Sonic turned to him with a bored expression on his face.
The cute machine is a 1'8-feet-tall Robot with a round head, small round yellow eyes that had black irises, large black ears that protrude from each side of his head and have pointed ends, a small mouth with a blue tongue, Black Metallic Skin, a short stout humanoid build, and his outfit consists of a silver jetpack attached to his back as it has red straps, white gloves, a silver belt with a large yellow 'M' in the middle, and red boots. His name is Bokkun, Eggman's Official Messenger Robot.
"Message for you," Bokkun says while taking out a large television as he balanced it on Sonic's outstretched feet. "Here you go!" Bokkun says while activating the TV as it showed the image of a closed-up angry Knuckles on the screen.
"Sonic, I'm sick of all your selfish stunts. This time, you've gone too far! I'm challenging you to a showdown! Meet me in Silver Valley in one hour. Don't be late." Knuckles said before the screen changed to show the image of a smiling Eggman wearing a fancy suit. "This message was brought to you by the Eggman Empire, which is not responsible for its content, except this part!" Eggman said as the TV then exploded, coating Sonic in ashes comically as Bokkun turned around and flew off into the air while laughing as Sonic could tell a bit of their past was going on with Knuckles.
"The only one who would do something like this is...Knuckles is gonna regret that!" Sonic says with a glare while shaking his body to get rid of the ash as he then sighs heavily and shakes his head. "Why do I have a feeling that it's going to be a little bit of a repeat of what happened around the time that I met Knuckles?"
~[Flashback]~
A grinning Sonic and Tails can be seen rushing through Angel Island with the Duo looking smaller and chubbier as they had black eyes. Anyway, after zooming across Angel Island at high speeds while leaving behind blue and orange trails, respectively, Sonic and Tails soon arrived at a certain area as there was a figure that looked like Robotnik with his left hand reaching out for the Master Emerald and his right hand seemed to be beckoning his opponent as, floating on the right, was a figure that resembled Super Sonic.
"That must be the Master Emerald that Knuckles mentioned! That's the stone of power!" Tails exclaimed in awe as Sonic placed his hands on his hips with a raised eyebrow.
"What makes it so special compared to the Chaos Emeralds though?" Sonic wondered out loud.
"The Master Emerald has the power to negate the Chaos Emeralds should the need arise," Knuckles answered while rushing into view as he skids to a stop. "It also keeps Angel Island afloat in the sky."
"That sounds amazing!" Tails exclaimed.
"That's why it's my duty to guard this place. You've made your way into the Hidden Palace, intruders."
"I already told you. We're on a mission," Sonic said while rolling his eyes as he scoffed. "Have we really done anything to warrant your suspicions?"
"You already have your doubts about the doctor's motives," Tails added as he gave Knuckles a confused look. "Why not helps us instead?"
"I don't know what to believe anymore. I do know that you shouldn't be here. For that, I have no choice but to stop you." Knuckles says with a fierce glare as Sonic glared back at him.
"I don't want to fight you, Knuckles, but if this is the only way to convince you...okay."
Without saying anything, Knuckles started cracking his knuckles and punching the air while Sonic stretched his legs as he then looked his opponent right in the eyes and gave a nod as Knuckles returned the nod and charged forward while winding up a punch as Sonic, in turn, ran straight towards his opponent and the Red Echnida landed a blow on the Blue Hedgehog, who retaliated with a swift kick as Tails kept looking back and forth at the combatants in the background, unsure of what to do as Knuckles charged Sonic again, but this time the Speedy Hero used his homing attack to blow him back, but Knuckles was able to recover quickly by landing on a wall and jumping forward as he glided through the air with both of his fists aiming directly at Sonic, who managed to flip out of the way as Knuckles crashed down into the ground and, before he could try attacking Sonic again, Tails used his tails to fly over and knock him down into the ground again as Knuckles had a shocked look on his face.
"I didn't expect you to butt in, kid."
"He may be a kid, but not only is he smarter than you or me, he's also not afraid to fight if he has to," Sonic added while zipping beside his Best Buddy as Knuckles glared at him stoically.
"An admirable quality, but I won't fight you, Fox. As you can see from the mural, the hedgehog is the one involved."
"What makes you think he's the one trying to steal the Master Emerald?" Tails asked with a huff and a glare as he crossed his arms. "Maybe he's actually trying to protect it."
"Eggman may have beaten us here, but that doesn't mean you have to listen to everything he says." Sonic piped in as Knuckles paused as if considering those words, when suddenly-
BOOM!
"What was that?!" Sonic shouted, surprised as Knuckles raced ahead with the others following close behind him as the Trio ran into a familiar chamber and spotted Dr. Robotnik blasting through one of the walls as he hovered over the Master Emerald in his Egg Mobile with a large claw attached beneath as it clamped around the gem.
"NO!"
"Looks like I won a prize!" Dr. Robotnik yelled with a laugh as a heavily pissed-off Knuckles leaped onto the Master Emerald.
"I won't let you take it!" Knuckles snarled as the Evil Doctor sneered down at him tauntingly.
"Sorry, we've reached our weight capacity!" Dr. Robotnik yelled while pressing a button on his Egg Mobile as two cords extended from the mobile and sent Knuckles flying off with a jolt of electricity as he crashed down into the ground. "So long, suckers! At last, my Death Egg will rise again!" Dr. Robotnik screamed mockingly while flying off as he laughed.
"Knuckles!" Tails cried while running over to Knuckles with Sonic following after him as they helped him up to his feet. "Are you okay?"
"Knuckles, come on, get up. We have to stop Eggman." Sonic says as Knuckles groans and shook his head.
"Well, that stung a bit...I'm sorry I didn't believe you sooner." An apologetic, sheepish Knuckles says as Sonic shrugged lazily.
"Don't worry about it. What matters now is that we get the Master Emerald back."
"Thank you." Knuckles says with a grateful nod as he then looked around. "This wall should lead the way." Knuckles says while lifting up his arm as he delivered a powerful punch at the wall, creating a large hole in it as he motioned at the Duo to follow after him, and they did as the Trio ran through the hole in the wall and started rushing through the passageway as they arrived at a couple of teleporters and were about to use it, but stopped as a panting Knuckles suddenly kneeled down onto the ground.
"Sorry, I'm still a bit out of it."
"Take your time," Tails said reassuringly as he placed his hand on his shoulder. "Not everyone could walk away from an electric shock like that so quickly."
"But there's no time to waste. Come on." Knuckles says with a huff while standing up from the floor as he stepped onto the teleporter and disappeared as Sonic and Tails quickly followed, and, in a flash, they were seemingly in the sky.
"Wow," Tails was in awe as he looked around. "Where are we now?" Tails asked as Knuckles can be seen panting heavily on the ground.
"This is the Sky Sanctuary. If his Death Egg really is finished, then you'll be able to infiltrate it up here as it passes by." Knuckles says as a smiling Sonic gave him a pat on the back.
"Thanks, knucklehead. You stay and recover while we stop that eyesore."
~[Flashback Over]~
"Ah, good memories," Sonic says with a nostalgic smile before zooming off at high speeds as he headed straight towards Silver Valley at high speeds.
"Well, if we can't get an Emerald, we might as well settle down. Good idea, Amy." Warren complimented Amy, who smiled back at him warmly as we see the Gang resting in the middle of Silver Valley and the group could be seen having a picnic with each other after spending an hour looking for the Chaos Emerald, but found nothing yet as, unknown to them, a different Mysterious Figure can be seen spying on them in the background.
"Thanks, Warren, but shouldn't there be a lot of people here if they found a Chaos Emerald?" Amy asked with a raised eyebrow as Tails looked around with a thoughtful hum.
"It doesn't feel like the Chaos Emerald was found. Maybe something else caused the energy spikes?" Tails suggested as Chris nodded.
"I guess it must have been a mistake. We could still have some fun while we're here." Chris said, with him and the others not seeing the water bubbling near them, as Tails rubbed the back of his head sheepishly.
"Perhaps we were a bit too impatient to rush out here. We have no other clues, so let's take our time looking for it." Tails pointed out. "We could take a hike in the mountains, or go swimming in the lake, and-," Tails says before he and the others screamed in shock when something suddenly bursts out of the water, revealing it to be a large red-violet robot named E-47 Pumpty as he has an all-around glass encasing center, large construction digging claws for arms and feet, and one large green eye on its top. "Oh, no! A giant robot! Quick, Warren, teleport us out of here!" Tails screamed as Warren nodded and teleported away as he completely forgot to teleport the others...again.
"DARN IT, WARREN, YOU FORGOT ABOUT US AGAIN!" Tails screamed angrily with a red-face and flailed his hands around as E-47 Pumpty scoops him and the others up and traps them inside of its body with the help of its claws.
"Oh no!" A worried Warren says while hiding behind a tree as he spotted Eggman flying down from above in his Eggmobile.
"Ha, ha, they fell for the trap."
"Eggman?!" A trapped Chris exclaimed in surprise as Eggman grinned in response. "You rat! You tricked the news into broadcasting that story!" Chris says as Eggman waved his forefingers at him mockingly.
"Ah-ah-ah-ah, I generated artificial energy spikes just like the ones made by Chaos Emeralds. It isn't my fault that those hounds barked up the wrong tree."
"I hate to admit it, but Eggman had even me outfoxed." Tails said with a pout as Chris turned to him in surprise while a worried Warren didn't know what to do, not knowing if he should intervene or not or else the gang will be in trouble.
"Well, his plan fails 'cuz we're out of here!" Amy says while smirking smugly as she pulled out her Piko Piko Hammer and began slamming it on the glass several times, but to no avail as Amy was comically shocked by this. "What?! But smashing things always work!"
"Ha, ha, ha! Nice try, Hedgehog, but you won't be able to break that glass cage that easily. Besides, I can't allow you all to leave so easily. I need you all in case my first plan to beat Sonic fails."
"What do you mean? Sonic isn't here!" Amy yelled with a glare as Eggman grinned arrogantly.
"You'll see...he'll be here any second now!" Eggman said as he then chuckled and turned to Knuckles, who was sitting impatiently on a nearby cliff as Eggman began to have a flashback
~[Flashback]~
The Death Egg was falling as Eggman crashed on Angel Island.
"Who are you?" Knuckles asked as Eggman put his hands up.
"I am Dr Eggman, and I am here to warn you of a big threat!"
~[Flashback Over]~
"This isn't good." Tails thought to himself concernedly as Warren gritted his teeth, but then spotted Knuckles nearby as he perked up and was quick to teleport away with Warren noticing that the Mysterious Figure from before had watched him teleport away but stayed put since he was waiting for the chance to save the civilians, i.e., Chris and the others.
"Where's Sonic? He should've been here by now!" Knuckles said to himself just as Warren teleported onto the scene as he was about to say something but stopped as Sonic zipped onto the scene.
"Sonic!" Warren says with a smile as Sonic gives him a thumbs up before turning to Knuckles as he waved at him casually.
"Hey there, Knuckles! Sorry to keep you waiting!" Sonic says with a playful grin before frowning as he saw Knuckles standing up and glaring at him with a familiar look on his face as Sonic sighs. "This isn't good." Sonic thought to himself worriedly as he saw that the old Knuckles was starting to come back.
"You're late, Sonic! You slowpoke!"
"He does still have a part in him. Now let's see if I can get it all back." Sonic thought to himself determinedly as he then puts on a fake casual look and turned around to bend down as the Blue Hedgehog picked up a flower. "Yeah, well, I stopped to enjoy the scenery. This planet is pretty cool." Sonic says while sniffing the flower as he then turned to a shaking Knuckles. "It's nice here. You'd like this world too if you weren't such a party pooper." Sonic said, trying to think of something to stop him from being the old Knuckles without having to hurt him first, as the Mysterious Figure laughed a bit at what he said thanks to his superhearing.
"Sonic, why you...enough talk, let's go!" Knuckles screamed while getting into a battle stance as Sonic perked up.
"He's fighting it. He said my name softer than before." Sonic thought to himself in relief as Warren frowned confusedly.
"Knuckles, what's wrong? Why do you want to fight Sonic?"
"Don't worry, Little Buddy, Knuckles is just having a temper tantrum," Sonic says before turning to Knuckles. "Don't get so angry. Be more cool, partner. Just relax, will ya? There are children here."
"Don't you dare call me 'partner'! Now, come on, Sonic! I'll settle things with you once and for all! I'm not your buddy, and don't forget it, smart-aleck! Now put 'em up! I didn't come here to sniff the flowers!" Knuckles screamed while raising his clenched fists as Sonic sighed in disappointment.
"That's your loss. You don't know what you're missing, but if you rather get clobbered by me-,"
"Shut up! Give the emerald you stole, or else!" Knuckles screamed aggressively, startling the Duo as Sonic stared at him surprised.
"Oh boy. I really hoped this wouldn't happen again." Sonic thought to himself in disbelief and shock as he then composed himself and glared at Knuckles lightly. "Come on, Knucks, don't tell me you've been tricked again," Sonic says sternly, causing Warren, Amy, and Chris to be confused while Tails looks nervous as, while he may have only fought him once, he still has nightmares of the event sometimes. "Your brain's even slower than your feet!" Sonic screamed with a playful smirk as Knuckles scowled.

The dust on the ground slowly rose up into the air as the wind blew by and everyone watched what these two would do as they were about to beat the holy crap of each other with Tail was seriously nervous by this, knowing full well Sonic may be done for as Warren wasn't too pleased by this either and hoped they would team up. Without saying anything, Sonic and Knuckles then launched toward each other at high speeds, creating small dual shockwaves as they ran towards each other at top speed as Sonic spin-dashed towards Knuckles, who throws a punch at him with Sonic quickly uncurling himself as he threw a kick at his fist, creating a shockwave that caused a small crater to form around them as multiple rocks shoot up into the air and the ground around them cracked as everyone gasped and knew one thing...the Sonic vs Knuckles Battle was on as the Blue Hedgehog leaped away and ran off at high speeds as Knuckles goes after him by digging himself through the ground and disappeared from sight as a shocked Chris's jaw dropped at this.
"He can do that?!"
"This isn't the first time they fought. Long ago, Sonic and I went on one of our greatest adventures ever and Knuckles was able to literally knock the emeralds out of Super Sonic's body because Eggman tricked him, so Sonic and I had to escape each and every trap and even had to fight him. We still lost, though, and Eggman was even able to steal the emerald, but we were able to get it back." Tails says explained as Amy and Chris looked surprised by this.
Sonic soon stops running as he looks around before Knuckles popped up out from underground and uppercutted a surprised Sonic in the jaw, sending him flying upwards into the air as Sonic flew across the air, and a snarling Knuckles leaped up high into the air as he punched him down, causing a dust cloud to rise up as rocks spread out and a groaning Sonic sat up from the ground as he rubbed his head just as Knuckles landed on the ground as he rushed forward to throw multiple punches at him, but Sonic was able to use his Super Speed to avoid each punch as he jumped backwards and did a backflip over a small river as the Blue Hedgehog landed on the ground and then turned around to speed down through a forest as Knuckles chased after him with a worried Warren covering himself in a blue glow as he flew after them, and, with the others, we see two blue/red blurs race across the forest as they reached a large mountain and rushed up it as Sonic zipped up to the top of a random tree.
"Ora tampilan ala!" Sonic says in Japanese as, before he could wonder when did he learn a new language, a growling Knuckles ran over to grab the tree and ripped it out of the ground as he then tossed it up into the air, sending Sonic flying away as he screamed in surprise before composing himself as the Blue Hedgehog front flipped over to land on the ground and turned around to give his friend a taunting look. "That doesn't look too environmentally friendly."
"Fuck nature! This is personal!" Knuckles screamed while rushing forward as he started throwing multiple punches into the air that collided against various trees, uprooting them up from the ground as they flew towards Sonic, who used his amazing speed to avoid all of the trees as the Blue Hedgehog then zipped over to Knuckles.
"Alright, it's time to use the thing that always works!" Sonic thought to himself seriously while curling himself into his ball form as he spin-dashed over to a growling Knuckles. "Wait, hold on, this might be a horrible idea since if Knuckles is always able to knock me out of my Super Form with one punch, then all I'm doing is setting myself up for one big-," Sonic thought to himself just as he reached Knuckles as he lifted up his clenched fist and threw a powerful punch across Sonic's body, sending him flying away with the help of a big shockwave as the sheer force of his attack blew away all of the discarded trees around them.
"HEADACHE!" Sonic screamed while flying through the air as he then crashed down into what seemed to be a water surface, causing him to panic as he flailed around. "OH, NO, NO! PLEASE! SOMEONE HELP ME! I CAN'T SWIM! OH, CRAP! I CAN HEAR THAT DREADED MUSIC HAPPENING!" Sonic shouted...before calming down as he realized that he was lying in the middle of a small puddle. "Heh, it's lucky that I fell in the kiddy pool," Sonic says to the readers with a sheepish grin just as Knuckles appeared as he landed in front of Sonic and glared down at him stoically as he clenched his fists. "Alright, round two, Knucks! Do you want to see my real power? I will give it to-," Sonic says before being interrupted by Knuckles as he zoomed over to deliver a strong punch across his gut and the force of his punch sends the screaming Blue Hedgehog flying backwards as he crashed through various trees before impacting against the side of a mountain so hard that a crack and a big shockwave occurred as a dust cloud appeared and, once it died down, we see a groaning Sonic lying on the ground, battered and bruised by Knuckles's attack as he moaned.
"Do I look like I need your power?" A stoic Knuckles asked with a glare while zooming over to the injured Hedgehog to deliver the finishing blow when suddenly Warren teleported onto the scene as the Little Rabbit Boy held out his arms.
"Knuckles! Stop!" Warren screamed as a surprised Knuckles skidded to a stop and glared at him in both worry and irritation as he gritted his teeth.
"Stay out of this, Warren!"
"Wait, let's talk about this! Sonic is not your enemy!" Warren screamed as Knuckles narrowed his eyes at him.

"Go, Knuckles! Ignore what Warren is saying and show Sonic that he can't keep us stuck here! Our only hope is for you to trounce that tyrant!" Eggman cheered as Chris and Amy can be seen still looking in worry as Tails, however, was busy messing around with Eggman's Robot by opening up the panel that was placed inside of their glass cage and started reprogramming it.
"Sonic!"
"Grrr, we can't just stay in here and do nothing! We have to intervene before the Boys end up killing each other!"
"Already ahead of you." Tails says with a smirk as he connected two wires and caused the glass cage around them to open up as Chris and Amy beamed.
"Oh, way to go, Tails! You're the best!"
"Yeah, I know." A smug Tails says before spinning his tails around like it was a helicopter blade as he flew over to grab Chris and Amy by their arms as the Young Fox flew them out of the robot. "Sonic! Warren! Over here!" Tails screamed, alerting their friends as Warren was quick to zip over to Sonic's side and grabbed his hand as he teleported them away.
"Hey! Get back here!" Knuckles screamed, not happy his fight was interrupted, but part of him was questioning what really happened and who could he really trust as he runs after him.
"Hmmm?" A curious Eggman hummed after hearing Tails's yell as he turned around and was surprised to see that his prisoners were able to escape. "Huh?! How did you get yourselves free!?"
"He, he, maybe next time, don't put the panel that controls your machine inside of where your prisoners are being held hostage in, Egg Face." Tails says tauntingly as a nervous Amy and Chris made sure to have a fierce grip on a flying Tails's arms.
"Grrrrr, E-47 Pumpty! Destroy them!" Eggman ordered while pointing at Tails and the others as E-47 Pumpty nodded and fired a missile at them as, before it could impact against the shocked group, the Mysterious Figure decided that he was tired of waiting around and hiding as he zoomed ahead and kicked the missile away as the Stranger landed on the ground and the missile flew over to impact against a nearby small mountain as it blew up.
The Mysterious Figure is really a 3'8-feet-tall, 19-year-old Mobius Male as he resembles a Werewolf with angled green eyes, curved and thin dark blue ears with peach insides, a black nose, a peach muzzle with black fingers and two sharp protruding fangs, a sharp chin, has large and long muscular arms with clawed-fingers, Pale Blue Skin with lush heavy dark blue fur as he has traits of white fur on his wrists/the end of his furs/chest, a muscular slim build, and his outfit consists of dark red shoes with gray metal stripes that have three spikes on the surface, and the bottom of each sole is covered with eighteen small metal spikes. His name is Beowulf.
"Huh?! Beowulf!? He's here too?!" An annoyed Eggman asked as Beowulf glanced up at Tails and the others.
"Hey, guys, you okay?" Beowulf asked as a surprised Tails and the others nodded before they spotted E-47 Pumpty recovering from the attack as it tried to send another missile at them, only to be stopped by our Faithful Heroes as they teleported onto the scene, and Warren started spinning Sonic around before tossing him forward as the Blue Hedgehog curled up into his Ball Form and delivered a powerful Spin-Dash that knocked down Eggman's robot.
"Heh, seriously? E-47 Pumpty? Lame name, much?" Warren taunted while floating down on the ground with Sonic zipping over to his side as they shared a high-five just as Tails flew him and the others down next to the Duo with Amy running over to hug Sonic tearfully as Warren rolled his eyes, but then raised an eyebrow at the sight of Beowulf as he turned to him. "Whoa, Beowulf, you got warped to this world too?"
"Yep, it's a long story. I will explain everything later, but for now, let's focus on defeating this Egg-Shaped bastard." Beowulf says as Warren and the others nod before turning back to Eggman, who sneered down at them as he gritted his teeth.
"Well, Sonic, even if you got more allies now, that won't help you now. My robot may be down, but it certainly isn't out." Eggman said with a growl just as E-47 Pumpty used its shovel arms to stand right back up as several cannons appeared out of its bottom half, which was now its top half as they aimed down at our Young Heroes, who were shocked by the Robot's adaptability as Eggman smirked sinisterly. "Attack!" Eggman ordered as E-47 Pumpty's cannons began firing down at the Group with Warren reacting quickly by creating a blue energy field around everyone, protecting them from the attack as E-47 Pumpty beeped in annoyance and was about to try and do something else, when suddenly a roaring Knuckles appeared and kicked one of the cannons, destroying it as Eggman gasped in shock and Knuckles landed on the floor.
"Nice one, Knuckles!" Warren says compliments while lowering the energy shield as E-47 Pumpty saw this and was quick to fire a laser blast at them, but before Warren could put up his shield again, a mirror was suddenly tossed over, and the laser collided against it as it bounced off and burned off Eggman's mustache as everyone was shocked by what happened.
"Grrrr, hey! Who did that?!" Eggman asked angrily with a red-faced as everyone immediately looked at Amy.
"Hey, I'm not a drama queen. It wasn't me." Amy says as Eggman grits his teeth.
"Okay, enough of this bullshit!" Eggman screamed while manipulating his Egg Mobile to fly off into the air with the E-47 Pumpty flying after his Master as they hovered above the giant lake placed near the group. "That's it, Sonic! If you don't bring the Chaos Emerald, I will shower this whole meadow in hot fire!"
"What is this? Eggman swore to me that all he wanted was to live in peace." Knuckles said as Sonic smirked smugly.
"Knuckles got fooled by Eggman. Stop the presses." Sonic says as Beowulf laughed and Knuckles grits his teeth angrily.
"Which means I was...that swindler! He lied!"
"Ah, you're finally catchin' on, huh, pal? Now answer this one question...WHY WOULD YOU THINK HE WAS TELLING THE TRUTH?" Sonic yelled in exasperation and anger, causing Knuckles to wince as he sweated awkwardly and looks down guiltily.
"Sonic!" Eggman screamed, gaining Sonic's attention as he turned to him. "We all know your weak spot is water and that you lack the ability to fly, so there's no way that you will be able to reach my robot in time before it nukes this whole valley!"
"Oh, no, water, my only weakness. If only there's something that I can do," Sonic says with a fake devastated look before grinning cheekily as he zoomed forward and, much to Eggman's shock, the Blue Hedgehog started RUNNING across the water as he began running around below the Villains at high speeds in a circle, creating a huge water twister that impacted against E-47 Pumpty and sends it flying up into the air as a smirking Beowulf stretched his arms forward, and they grabbed onto a couple of nearby stone pillars as he propelled himself into the air and delivered a powerful kick at E-47 Pumpty, sending it flying higher into the air as Warren then teleported above it and lifted up his glowing blue hands as he fired a big electrical blue blast down at Eggman's robot, sending it crashing down into the lake as it created a big tidal wave and doused everyone in water.
"And the robot falls down. Have a nice trip. See ya next fall, Pumpty Dummy!" Warren taunted while teleporting back to his Friends' side as Sonic zipped over to the gang and Beowulf stretched his arms back into their normal size.
"Show-off..." Eggman muttered with a pout before beaming as E-47 Pumpty rose up from the lake while suffering some battle damage as it launched missiles into the ground.
"Go, go, go!" Sonic screamed as the group begins to run, avoiding the rockets as, thankfully, Knuckles jumped into the scene and punched a rocket into the air as he landed on the ground.
"Let me take care of Eggman...as an apology," Knuckles said, whispering the apology part, as Sonic and Warren were able to listen to what he said and smiled proudly as they nodded and watched on in awe as a growling Knuckles charged toward E-47 Pumpty while avoiding its missile fire as the Guardian of the Master Emerald leaped up into the air and began punching several holes into the robot as, once he was able to climb up to the top, Knuckles then jumped to Eggman's level.
"You!"
"YOU LIAR!" Knuckles yelled while delivering a powerful punch across the Egg Mobile, sending it flying away as the Evil Doctor screamed 'You'll pay for this!' before the Eggmobile disappeared in a twinkle as Knuckles started falling down through the air and lowered his fist as he crashed onto E-47 Pumpty's head, using his Super Strength to punch it so hard that a big explosion occurred as Warren was quick to create a light blue energy shield that shielded everyone from the debris.
"Nice work, Kunx." Sonic complimented with a thumbs up after Knuckles had landed back near the others as Warren nodded with a big smile on his face.
"Yeah, you were so cool, Knuckles," Warren says as Knuckles smiles and nods before turning around to walk away as he waved at them, telling them silently that he's sorry for what he did, and the next they meet, they will be allies again as Sonic and Warren smiled back and nodded as Beowulf, Chris, and the others go over to them as, while they were disappointed that Knuckles once again left, they understand his reasonings.
"That was so awesome." The silhouette says, revealing itself to be a white cat Mobius as she had part black fur and wore a purple sweater with a heart on it and purple sneakers as she had one red eye and one blue eye. "I wish I could have more fun, but I guess I'll take my own path, or my name isn't Delta Galaxia," Delta says before rushing off as she left behind a white trail.
"So, Sonic, when did you and Knuckles first fight?" Warren asked curiously as we fast forward in time and see everyone taking the train back to Station Square with the Mobius Gang pretending to be stuffed dolls as they leaned against a sleeping Chris.
"Oh, now that was a story. It was because of Eggman." Sonic whispered to Warren with a smile on his face as he glanced up at the ceiling.
~[Flashback]~
"So, once again, we stride through the literal machinations of the doctor's mind."
"Very eloquently put, Tails. I can already see missiles and spikes everywhere." Sonic says to Tails as, everywhere, there were several nasty Badniks: a floating head with a spiked ball rotating around it called Spike Bonker, and a blue one with a spike on all four sides of its body called Chainspike and, when they got close to Spike Bonker, it would widen the rotation of its spike in an attempt to hit them as, when they got close to Chainspike, it would launch one of its spikes attached to a long chain in their direction. The Badniks were easily dispatched, but then there was everything else, a temporary energy bridge.
"Hey, what's this thing?" Sonic asked curiously as the Duo made their way over to two wheels placed next to a sign.
"I think you Spin Dash between the wheels, Sonic." Tails explained as Sonic did so, and the sign lit up to count down numbers...3...2...1...and, with a loud beep, Sonic was shot through the air surrounded by energy rings that carried him to another section of the Death Egg as Tails flew as fast as he could to catch up.
"Whoa! That was a rush...oh, hey, Tails." Sonic says casually as Tails said nothing as he stopped to catch his breath. "Take your time, buddy. Let's head down this corridor." Sonic says as Tails nods and slowly follows as they ended up stepping on a conveyor belt, and, what's more, it began to move downwards as it was slowly lowered through a shaft that was lined with spikes and missiles. "He's not making this any easier," Sonic said with a big sweatdrop on his head as the Duo then stepped onto another moving platform that took them down a long passageway from where the ground was electrified as Sonic and Tails eventually entered a solitary room, and in the center was a pillar with a large red eye sticking out. "Well, that's disturbing..."
"I can see you! Say hello to Red Eye! This will stop your progress, I'm sure!" Eggman's voice rang out from the intercoms as Sonic snorted in amusement and laughed.
"Don't bet on it, Eggman," Sonic says as, suddenly, eight orbs began circling the pillar and the Blue Hedgehog gave the robot a well-timed hit as once he did, however, one of the orbs exploded and shot several spikes in every direction.
"Well, that's particularly nasty," Tails commented.
"We'll just have to be careful," Sonic said with a snicker as Tails rolled his eyes, and they continued to strike the robot, doing their best to avoid the spikes from the exploding orbs. After all the orbs had blown up, a small section of the pillar broke off, taking the large red eye with it as two floating platforms with spikes along the bottom began to rotate around Red Eye, and on top of that, beneath the machine was a powerful laser that it began to periodically fire as Sonic and Tails timed their hits just right, and soon, Red Eye was no more. "Eggman really did go a bit overboard with this one, huh, Tails?"
"We're in his Death Egg, Sonic. He's getting desperate. By the way, I was thinking, I wonder how high up we are." Tails says with a light hum as, just then, they were transported to a higher section of the Death Egg.
"Does that answer your question, pal?" Sonic asked dryly as Tails ignored him to look around and spotted the impressive view of the planet as he gasped in awe.
"Wow."
"Yeah, this would be a much nicer view if we weren't on a super weapon," Sonic commented with a casual shrug as they kept moving and passed through a tunnel that inverted the gravity.
"Sonic...we're on the ceiling." Tails says in disbelief as Sonic shrugged again.
"As long as we can keep moving," Sonic says as another moving platform lay before them, and the path it was heading to was a long corridor full of electrified floors and ceilings as Sonic grabbed a nearby electric shield and pushed ahead. "I'm going ahead, Tails. You take this platform and stay put. I'll activate all the traps ahead of time so you have a safe trip."
"You're the best, Sonic." Tails says with a smile and a thumbs up as Sonic ran through with missiles firing off, which he easily dodged as the electrified floors were rendered ineffective with his elemental shield as, further along, were more moving platforms and more inverted gravity hallways. "This is making me a bit dizzy, Sonic."
"This has got to end someplace, Tails. Let's try this tube here." Sonic says as the tube took them to another section of the Death Egg, and, for some reason, the area seemed to be quiet. "I've got a bad feeling about this."
"You always know what to say, Sonic," Tails replied with a hint of sarcasm.
"Hello, Hedgehog...oh, and Foxboy," Eggman says while standing by a control panel as our Young Heroes turned to him. "I decided to oversee this personally. You've gone far enough, I think. This creation of mine is called Death Ball!" Eggman exclaimed as a round ball-shaped machine hovered in the middle of the room, and it rotated a pair of bumpers across its frame as protection. "Take this!" Eggman screamed as the Death Ball opened up and dropped a pair of small wheeled robots that had spikes atop their chassis as Sonic ignored them in an attempt to hit the Death Ball, but alas, the bumpers quickly protected it as, on each end of the room, there was a transport tube and Sonic motioned towards the one at the farther end as, soon, they were on the ceiling and, as a consequence, the spike-topped robots were now stuck in the ceiling.
"Well, that seems like a design flaw," Tails noted as Robotnik muttered something under his breath. Meanwhile, Sonic Spin-Dashed into one of the spikey bots, but all that did was send it into the air for a few seconds, and then it was back on the ceiling. Not to be deterred, Sonic tried the same thing with the second bot. This time, however, the smaller bot collided with the Death Ball, and it dealt damage.
"I feel a plan forming," Sonic said, stepping into the nearest tube and, doing so, changed the gravity back to normal, and the small spike robot that was on the ceiling now fell, and on top of the Death Ball, no less.
"How's this?!" Eggman yelled angrily as, once again, the Death Ball released smaller machines, and Sonic repeated the pattern of using the Ball's own minions against it until it was finally destroyed as Robotnik's jaw hung open, but he quickly composed himself and made a run for it.
"You're not getting away this time, Eggman!" Sonic screamed determinedly as the Evil Doctor quickly dove into another of his machines. "Come out of there, Eggman. Let's just end this now."
"I couldn't agree more!" Eggman screamed as the machine started to move, destroying a part of the walkway in the process, as Robotnik was, in fact, inside a gigantic mech. "You're about to be slain by another of my greatest achievements: The Great Eggman Robo! Get ready to be schooled!" Eggman shouted as one of the mech's massive hands swang down in their direction in an attempt to crush them, only for Sonic and Tails to quickly dove out of the way as Eggman laughed maniacally.
"Ha ha ha! See if you can make it through here, Sonic!" Eggman screamed as the massive hands slammed into the ground again, but this time Sonic and Tails jumped into the air and began to strike at the mech's hands. "Ha ha! It's no use! Give up!" Eggman shouted as, once again, the hands attempted to crush the duo, and again they swiftly retaliated. "He's not gonna get away with this!" Robotnik said aloud to himself.
"I beg to differ, Eggman," Sonic shot back as he and Tails performed a dual Spin-Dash that destroyed the mech's hands.
"Hmph, so you broke the hands...so what? Time for the really fun part." Eggman says as the gigantic mech turned so that it was now directly behind the duo and began walking towards them, destroying the ground in front of it.
"I'd say that's the signal to get going."
"Understatement of the year, Sonic," Tails replied dryly.
"This is only part of my strategy," Robotnik declared. "Get a load of this!" Eggman says as a panel on the front of the mech opened up, and that's when they saw it: the Master Emerald encased inside the mech. "Do you like what I've done with it, Sonic?" Robotnik taunted, "You're no match for me!"
"Do you hear that noise, Sonic?"
"Besides the crumbling floor, Tails? Just that noise that sounds like something's charging up. Oh, wait..." Sonic says just as a massive laser beam fired out from the Master Emerald. "Duck, Tails!" Sonic screamed as he zoomed over to grab Tails and zip him to safety.
"Way to make time for jokes, Sonic."
"Got to do so when we can, little bro," Sonic says while putting down Tails as he then zooms ahead and tried to get close to the mech, but then from what would be approximately the nose, a stream of fire shot out of it, and Sonic had to leap backwards. "I guess he really thought of everything."
"All systems, full power!" Eggman declared as the panel opened again, and Sonic rushed forward to start striking it. "Are you sure that's wise, Sonic?" Robotnik taunted while grinning like mad. "The weapon is about to fire," Eggman advises playfully as Sonic dashes away from the Master Emerald and motions to Tails to help him as his Partner nods and jumps into the air as he reached out to grab Sonic by his arms, and Tails lifted the both of them up above the deadly beam as the Two-Tailed Fox then swung Sonic back towards the mech and the Blue Hedgehog kept smashing away the giant mech while dodging fire when necessary. "You seriously think you can destroy one of my finest creations?"
"If you ask me, Eggman. It's not that creative. It's just a much bigger version of your last Death Egg mech." Sonic says with a deadpanned glare as Eggman shrugged carelessly.
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
"But didn't you lose last time?" Tails pointed out as a thick mark appeared on Eggman's head.
"I make my best machines in my own image. It's my thing!"
"Funny, I thought all your best machines were done in my image," Sonic says as Robotnik, never one to concede that someone else could be correct, started pounding on the walls of his cockpit in frustration, and Sonic smirks at Tails as they both began to do even more damage to the device that held the Master Emerald with Robotnik being so pissed off that he almost didn't notice his power was failing.
"No, not again!" Robotnik screamed in dismay and anger as Sonic and Tails spun in one great circle and delivered the final blow to the giant mech as Robotnik was seething but quickly hit an emergency button as his Egg Mobile popped out of the great mech with a massive crane claw still grasping the Master Emerald and Eggman even activated a pair of boosters as he tried to get away, but Sonic gave chase and kept attacking the mobile and Robotnik hit another emergency button as the mobile gave out and dropped the Master Emerald and leapt out of the cockpit as the mobile exploded and the walkway beneath gave way.
"Sonic, he just leapt into space!" Tails screamed as his statement was quickly proved false when a large blue spaceship rose into view and flew past the pair, snatching up the Master Emerald in the process, as meanwhile, with the collapse of the Great Eggman Robo, now the entire Death Egg was falling apart.
"Tails, get back to the Tornado! I'm going to get the Master Emerald back!"
"I wish I could go, but in order to chase after him now, you'll have to go super...or should I say hyper. I'll fly to the Tornado as fast as I can. I won't say good luck, because I know you'll win. So, instead I'll say...have fun." Tails as, after flying off, Sonic quickly activated the Emeralds and was once again Hyper Sonic as he then took off in pursuit of Eggman. Meanwhile, with Tails, we see him flying as fast as he can and heading for the jungle without stopping as the Young Fox kept glancing up, as if hoping to see a glimpse of Sonic and it took him some time, but he finally reached the Tornado as Tails had to stop and catch his breath, but he tried his best to make sure the upgrade he gave the plane was ready, but that's when he saw a shadow as he spun around to see a familiar Red Echidna. "Knuckles?"
"How can I help?"
"How did you get here so fast?" A bewildered Tails asked as Knuckles gave him a blank glare.
"I can glide, remember? Where's Sonic?"
"He used the Emeralds to follow Dr. Robotnik into space. Help me with the plane." Tails says as Knuckles nods and made his way over to help him out with the plane.
"It's awfully convenient that there happen to be rings in space, but I'm not complaining." Hyper Sonic says with a shrug while speeding through the atmosphere as he was bobbing and weaving through a meteor field, grabbing more rings to keep powered up until he finally caught up with the doctor as the spaceship was just ahead, and as the Blue Hedgehog got closer, a missile fired from the ship.
"You just don't know when to give up, do you, Sonic?"
"I could ask you the same question, Eggman. Why not make this easy on yourself and hand over the Master Emerald?" Hyper Sonic asked cockily as the Evil Doctor said nothing, but a lot more missiles were fired from the ship as they were easy enough to dodge, but-
"These missiles were designed to follow you, Hedgehog. Just dodging won't be enough!" Eggman screamed as Sonic perked up and zoomed off until the missiles exploded or collided with a meteor as he then went in to attack the ship but didn't make a dent. "This ship was specially reinforced, Sonic. You won't take it down so easily!" Eggman screamed as more missiles were heading towards Sonic, and while he was avoiding them, the powerful Hedgehog was also checking to see if there was something he was missing, like looking for a weakness as an idea popped into his head and, when another missile homed in, Hyper Sonic flew closer to the ship as it also fired smaller projectiles and Hyper Sonic dodged, causing the following missiles to collide with the ship, but to no effect. "I told you this armor was too tough. Nice try though!" Eggman taunted as Hyper Sonic weaved through space and tried to think fast. There had to be a weak spot, and suddenly an idea popped into his head as he grinned.
"Oh, of course." Hyper Sonic said just as another barrage of missiles was heading for him, so he zoomed off and, this time, the Hedgehog headed for the cockpit, and sure enough, when the missiles hit, they actually did some damage. "Gotcha, Eggman!" Hyper Sonic shouted with a smirk as Eggman retaliated by firing off even more missiles with some of them even managing to hit Sonic, stunning him and knocking him back as he quickly regained what ground he lost, and continued his strategy of causing the missiles to collide with Robotnik's cockpit and, in no time at all, alarms were going off.
"Oh no, my power is going down!" Robotnik cried, and he quickly hit a large red button, and there was a small explosion as, while the blue ship was no more, in its place was a large red mech speeding ahead, and it was grasping the Master Emerald in its hand. "You'll never stop me, Hedgehog! You can't defeat this creation of mine!"
"Oh, come on! Your giant mech was just a copy of the Death Egg mech! Now this one is actually that very same mech! All you did was fix it!" Hyper Sonic mocked with Robotnik growling angrily as he began firing missiles at Hyper Sonic with his mortal foe dodging the missiles and collided with the mech as it was a tough nut to crack, however, and one hit certainly wouldn't be enough as Robotnik firing off multiple barrages of missiles wasn't helping either. "I will not be denied! This time you won't stop me!"
"You took advantage of Knuckles and stole the master Emerald from him! I'm not going back empty-handed!" Hyper Sonic screamed angrily as he began ramming into the mech repeatedly.
"Now, uh, Sonic," Robotnik said, looking at the damage as he gulped nervously. "Maybe we can talk this over?"
"Not a chance, Eggman. Your taking over the world scheme is over and done with." Hyper Sonic says as he began flying around so fast that the missiles couldn't keep up and continued striking at the mech.
"No way! I can't believe this!" Robotnik screamed as he scanned the area, but Hyper Sonic had seemingly disappeared as, suddenly, a bright light lit up space, and Sonic was heading towards him at full speed towards the mech. "I hate that hedgehog," Robotnik says with a heavy sigh as Hyper Sonic collided against his mech with the arms and legs falling off as the torso and Master Emerald also fell off as Hyper Sonic dove down to grab it.
"Well, now that I've got it, what do I do with it?" Hyper Sonic asked while descending ever closer to the surface as that's when he caught something out of the corner of his eye.
"Here I come, Sonic!" Tails screamed with the Tornado flying fast through the Earth's Atmosphere and flying up to Hyper Sonic.
"Perfect timing, Tails. Where to?"
"Knuckles is waiting for us back in the jungle." Tails says as we fast forward in time and see the Duo hovering above an island in the middle of the ocean as, the minute Sonic touched down with the Master Emerald, Angel Island began rising out of the ocean.
"Well, that was fast," Hyper Sonic said before closing his eyes and transforming back into his Base Form as all of the Chaos Emeralds hovered in front of him just as Knuckles appeared as he walked over to grab them.
"Thank you for everything. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding."
"Yeah, well, just don't make a habit of it, okay, Big Guy?" Sonic asked with a cocky smirk while sticking out his fist as, after a few seconds, Knuckles gave him a fist bump. "Now, if you'll excuse us, Knux, we're going home, eating a big meal, and taking a nap."
"Come back any time." Knuckles says with a nod as Sonic winked and then leaped back on top of the Tornado while Tails waved goodbye as he flew into the cockpit and Knuckles waved back as they flew off, resting his other hand against the Master Emerald as Sonic and Tails flew over the ocean as they spotted a flock of seagulls and a school of dolphins.
"After being in outer space," Sonic said, "Seeing Earth up close like this is even cooler than usual," Sonic says with a smile as Tails gave a thumbs up, and off they went.
~[Flashback Over]~
"That was so cool!" A starry-eyed Warren says as Sonic grinned cockily.
"Yeah, I know. I'm pretty cool." Sonic says and fist-bumped Warren as they continue riding towards Station Square.
