The whole situation was explained to Haruhi and her father. Practically Sol's whole backstory needed to be told to them in order for them to understand. It was pretty difficult to do, but it was still needed.
"My family is like the other hosts: their rich. My parents always wanted to only have boys for kids so that they would have multiple candidates to take over the businesses. I have three older brothers, of whom my parents were always proud of. But I was born as a girl, and they didn't like it. They hid the fact that I was a girl from everyone, including our family. My oldest brother was the one who gave me my middle name, Evangeline, even though our parents didn't want me being anything close to a girl, name or otherwise. As I got older my parents expected me to be perfect so that some day I could work for one of my brothers, but I was never going to be allowed to take over any of the businesses even if I wanted to. I grew up looking like a boy anyway, it was just that my hair always needed cut and once I hit a certain point they wanted me to wear a vest. I wore suits, ties, boxers, anything that made me more like a boy. After a while I knew that I was a girl, but my parents didn't like it to the point where I just sort of..forget. As for everything that happened with my roommate, he used to be one of my friends when I was little. He was another one who never knew I was a girl, even to this day. He used to be nice, but a bunch of things happened with his family and he became cold and arrogant. It was around that time when I wanted to leave the family house so that I didn't have to constantly try to be a gentleman and live up to expectations. Gin found out what was going on and at first he was nice when we started living together. It took me a little while to realize what he was doing. He made me get jobs, made me take part-time ones, made me do chores, made me work around the house. I knew even before I started going to Ouran that he was just using me for money and food and a roof over his head."
Both Haruhi and her father seemed...surprised? Shocked? Scared? Sol didn't really know what to think. After he...no, she, had told her story, they just looked at each other and stared at her. There wasn't much she could do now. Her story was told and Haruhi knew her secret.
"Wait, where did the scars on your face come from then? You never mentioned. I heard you tell the girls at the club that it was Gin who did it, " asked Haruhi.
"That..., " he said with a sigh. "Was my mother. When I was a little bit older I would sometimes not do as she said, and there was a day when I was being especially bad. I was acting like a girl, I wasn't wearing my vest, I skipped my etiquette classes, and also avoided her. When she caught up to me she was furious. She had slapped me across the face and she purposely made her nails scratch me. They were fake ones to, so they were longer, bigger, and sharper than her normal nails. She had locked me in our closet and told me to stay there. My face had been bleeding, but I didn't really understand, so I just held a blanket to my face and it stopped eventually."
Haruhi's dad shook his head, which was now normal after he had changed out of his woman clothes. "That's horrible. Anyone who can do something like that without bating an eye doesn't deserve to be a parent."
The mentioning of Sol's mother brought back bad memories, but it also brought a thought she hadn't considered. Where am I going to go? The other apartment was too dangerous. There was always that chance that Gin went back to hide what had happened or to just ransack the whole place. She also didn't want to go back in case there were police called or something bad happened. As for going back to her old home, that was her least favorite option. Even if she did try to go back, there was absolutely no guarantee that they would even let her come back. Most likely the only person that would even consider helping her and being willing to do it happily was her oldest brother, and even he might not since he was under constant watch of her parents. She kept in contact with him, but she hadn't spoke to him recently. Who knew what their parents had him doing now or what they had done to him.
As thoughts ran through her head, she watched as Haruhi's dad motioned for Haruhi to follow him to the other room. They both walked off to the kitchen, speaking in low voices that Sol couldn't hear. While they spoke in private, Sol looked around the room, trying to figure out what she was going to do from that point on. Her options for places to go were slim and each of them was dangerous in their own way. Really, nowhere was safe. Her parents could easily send people out to look for her or look for her themselves. As for Gin, at that point he could be anywhere. As long as he was still in town and was still alive, he could do anything. If he found out where she was at that moment, there were a number of things he could do. She sure didn't want Haruhi and her father to get involved. And she wasn't about to ask them for any sort of hel-
"Sol, " she heard Haruhi's dad say as the two of them walked back into the room. "Me and Haruhi would like to know if you would want to stay here with us until you have somewhere to go." Before Sol could even say anything, Haruhi spoke as well. "It wouldn't be any trouble. We could let you have one of our rooms or we could set you up a place in here. We need to make sure that your wounds get better. Since it's the weekend, we don't have to go to school for a while, so you can just rest for a few days and we can take care of you. You could live here for a while, " Haruhi said, adding a smile at the end.
Once again, Sol didn't want to ask them for help. Being with them was too dangerous, especially since her other apartment was just across the street. But where else was she going to go? There weren't really any places that were truly safe for her to go. As said before, nowhere was safe. These two weren't safe with her at their house. But there was a high chance that even if she refused, the two of them wouldn't let her leave.
With a sigh, Sol looked up at Haruhi and her father. "Well...I didn't want to cause you two any trouble. Me being here isn't safe, especially with Gin still out there somewhere. But I do agree that my cuts need to heal. Only if you don't mind, I would love to stay here with you. Thank you so much Haruhi."
Finally got this done. I had this chapter already written a day or two ago, but my computer acted stupid when I was editing it, so I had to rewrite the whole second half. It's a little short, but it's done.
