Ginny walked along the third floor corridor where the marauders map had told her Blaise and Draco would be. She glanced around nervously. Why had she gone along with this? Noticing the boys up ahead of her she slowed down and pretended to struggle with the two boxes she was carrying.
"Alright there?" Draco called
"Oh yeah, brilliant" Ginny said sarcastically.
"Do you want some help?" a softer voice asked
Ginny glanced at Blaise, "yeah, if you don't mind"
"Not at all"
Draco stood awkwardly, moved his foot across the ground and tapped his fingers against his thigh.
"You go on ahead Draco, I'll only be a moment"
Perfect Ginny thought, she hadn't thought of a way to get rid of him.
"So where are you taking these?"
"The seventh floor corridor"
"Oh, something you trying to hide Ginny?" Blaise winked at her
"I'm not sure I know what you mean"
"Safe from listening ears let's say R O R."
"How do you know about that?"
"Please, Draco practically lived there 2 years ago!"
"Right." Ginny picked up her speed. It would be best for both of them if this finished quickly.
"Hey come on, I didn't mean to bring up bad memories."
Ginny slowed down until their feet matched "You didn't, I just… I don't like… what Draco did was awful."
"I know that, he knows that. But he is a changed man. His father and Voldemort put influence over him that we can't even imagine. And most people don't know the full story."
"And that is?" Ginny looked at Blaise
He shook his head "that's his story to tell, not mine"
"Of course, I didn't mean to pry."
"In my books princess, curiosity isn't a sin"
They walked a bit further until Ginny put out a hand. "Stop, here we are. Would you mind taking this?"
Ginny handed Blaise the second box and opened the door.
"If we just put them in here."
"Right" Blaise stepped into the cupboard and bent down to safely unload the boxes when.
BAM! The door slammed shut and locked behind him.
"What the…? Ginny, are you there?"
"Oh I'm here Blaise"
"What are you doing? Let me out." He banged on the door.
"Sorry, no can-do"
Ridiculous, Blaise reached into his back pocket to end this mess when…
"Alright, where's my wand?"
"Professor Moody always said not to keep your wand in your back pocket… though…" Ginny tilted her head "I guess not exactly for this reason"
Blaise let out a dry chuckle "Very clever, this has been a great laugh, you have beaten me. Now unlock the door"
"Why Blaise, got somewhere to be?" Ginny smirked while she leant against the wooden door and twirled Blaise's wand between her fingers.
"Dra-"Blaise slapped his hand over his mouth and banged his head against the door. "'Course I do, what do you think, a guy like me alone on a Friday night?"
Ginny could have sworn Blaise almost said Draco. A smile crossed her face, this turned out better than she and Hermione had planned. They had not only managed to get Draco on his own, but also foil some type of ploy he and Blaise were working on.
"Oh no, I know you're quite the ladies' man Blaise." That brought a smile to his face. "But, somehow…" Ginny grinned, trying to contain laughter "somehow I had a feeling you were going to be spending some time with some men tonight."
A crash sounded in the cupboard. Ginny could only imagine what had happened.
"WHAT?"
Ginny laughed on the other side of the door.
Blaise felt his mouth twitch and something in his stomach tingled.
.
Hermione was so nervous. 'I wonder how Ginny's getting on? I knew I should have made Harry go with her. They've probably caught onto her act and locked her away somewhere.' Hermione paced up and down the 2nd floor staircase. 'That's it, I'm going to check on them'. Hermione marched up to the third floor corridor entrance when she banged straight into Draco.
"Ouch" Right, time to put this plan into action
"Hello Granger, just the person I wanted to see" oh really?
"Well I'm sorry to deny you the pleasure of talking to me right now." Please follow me, please follow me
"Wait up!" YES! Hermione grinned.
"Look Malfoy, after the stunt you pulled the other day, I'm not really interested in talking to you right now."
Hermione walked through the second floor entrance she and Ginny had charmed earlier.
"That's what I wanted to talk about, I'm sorry, it was childish and I regret it."
Yeah right "Oh please" Hermione turned round "you wouldn't be sorry if yo-" "Oh my gosh!" Hermione put her hand over her mouth to stifle laughter
"What?"
"Oh, no- nothing, just thought I saw a massive spider over there is all"
"Of course you're afraid of spiders"
"Yep, that's me. I might be even worse than Ron. Anyway got to run" Hermione almost ran out of the corridor and up to the common room.
Once she sat down in front of the fireplace Hermione took out a rock and touched her wand to it "ignis" she muttered and the rock glowed.
.
Blaise had been quiet for a while now. Ginny was sat on the ground, legs outstretched and leaning against the door when she felt the rock in her pocket heat up. Finally, Hermione's finished. Ginny stood up as quietly as she could and sneaked to the end of the corridor. Before she exited she unlocked the cupboard with a spell and sprinted up to the common room.
Ginny flicked her scarlet hair over shoulder as she sat down next to Hermione.
"So I'm guessing everything went to plan?"
"Perfectly!" Hermione proclaimed. "The last look I got of him his entire robes were multi-coloured and the rims and edges were filled with rainbow sequins."
"Perfect, it's a shame we couldn't have dyed his hair though."
"I know" Hermione sighed "but this is enough. We definitely did the spell correctly; he sensed nothing out of the ordinary when he passed through the archway, and he showed no sign of noticing the difference of clothing."
"Brilliant"
"So… how did it go with Blaise?"
"Oh fine" Ginny said looking away "went without a hitch"
"That's… good…" Hermione raised an eyebrow but Ginny didn't look at her.
"Anyway" Hermione continued "we need to get Harry, if I'm going to charm the rest of Malfoy's clothes then I need to go into the common room when he does. That means I need the invisibility cloak…"
