"What happened?" Arizona asked as she came around the curtain for exam room four in the ER.

"Someone having a seizure hit me before we got him strapped down. I fell and twisted my ankle and got a cut on my shin," Callie explained as she gestured to her foot. "I know it's not broken, but Hunt and Bailey insisted I have X-rays."

"Can I check it?" Arizona asked. She was unsure that Callie would let her but was the itching to make sure that Callie really was alright.

"Sure," Callie nodded after a moment of thought.

Arizona grabbed the stool and brought it over. She didn't put on gloves. It was too temping to be able to touch Callie's skin again. Carefully she manipulated Callie's ankle to check for a break, but she could tell even if it hurt that nothing was broken.

"I'm alright, Arizona," Callie whispered when she saw the look of concern in Arizona's eyes when she checked the fairly deep gash on her shin. "Bailey stitched me up herself."

Arizona ran the side of her thumb around the gash and fought back the urge of do more. There was a time when this would have let to something awesome night once Sofia went down. Now it just led to Arizona looking up at Callie and trying to figure out what to say.

"Talk to me, Arizona," Callie whispered. "I can tell you want to say something."

"I started taking some medication," Arizona finally said. "To help with the depression and nightmares. Side effects aren't too bad. Headaches hit hard now. And dry mouth." She looked down at her hands as she spoke. "I'm getting better though. It's hard work to get better. To talk about Tim and Nick and all we've been through and then go home alone. It's hard. When Sofia is there I can pretend for a little while you're just working but when she's not there I just feel so lonely. But I'm getting better."

Callie breathed in and then out again slowly. She sat up on the gurney so she was in reach. She cupped Arizona's cheek and guided her head up. "I'm glad, Arizona. Not that it's hard work, but I'm glad you're doing it. That you're getting better. I'm glad you're healing. You have no idea how happy it makes me to hear you're getting better."

Arizona leaned against Callie's hand. "I have surgery soon." She closed her eyes before opening them again. "Do you want me to take Sofia home tonight? If you're ankle is still sore I mean?"

"No," Callie shook her head. "It'll be fine," She promised Arizona. "Before you go, can I have a hug?"

Arizona stood up and pushed the stool back before coming over to the side of the bed. She brushed a bit of hair out of Callie's eyes before bending over to wrap her in a hug as Callie's arms wrapped around her waist.

"We're a third of the way there," Arizona whispered. "I'm trying so hard, Calliope. Just don't give up on me."

"We're a third of the way there," Callie whispered back. "Ninety days and we'll see where we both are, alright?"

Arizona pulled back and cupped Callie's cheek for a moment before dropping her hand. "I have to go." She bent down to kiss Callie's cheek before walking away.
