Dear Sirius
Don't tell Mother, but I hope I end up in Gryffindor too. Well, I do want to be a Slytherin – upholding the family honour and all that – but I want to be with you, Sirius. You're my older brother and I've always looked up to you, even though you're more likely to get me into trouble than get me out of it. I'm amazed the Hat didn't put you in Slytherin. I mean, our entire family – with the exception of one or two blood-traitors – has been in Slytherin! It must have made a mistake. I reckon the spells cast upon it have worn off quite a bit, or malfunctioned in some way – it is centuries old, after all.
I wish you could come to Bella and Rod's wedding, Sirius. I don't want to go – I've never really had an interest in weddings. Ah, well, at least Uncle Alphard will be there. I agree with you that he is pretty much the only person in our family you can really get along with – apart from Andromeda. How is Andromeda? Mother and Father have forbidden me to contact her, but I miss her. She was great fun at parties.
I have to stop here. It's nearly lunchtime, and Mother and Father invited Aunt Druella, Uncle Cygnus, Bella, Cissy and Rod over for lunch, and you know how irritated Mother and Father become when you're late for a meal they've invited guests to join us for.
