"When are we going to fucking land!" Adalind tone was impatient and angered.

Kelly gave her a look as they clutched on to sides of the plane from all the turbulence. She turned towards the pilot's pit. "You heard her!" She had to yell over all the disturbance.

"Not going to be pretty but we'll land!" The pilot yelled back.

Adalind wasn't pleased with that answer but best not to distract him. Nick hadn't really woken up but he just shot up into a seat position out of nowhere and began coughing unbelievable amounts of blood.

The veins hadn't grown in terms of length. But width? Absolutely. Made her stomach curdle at the sight.

Incoherent while being away was his current state. His eyes were still closed but a cold sweat was covering him, labored breathing. Smudges of black blood on the corners of his lips, and also on his jacket along with his shirt from the dripping of it.

He wasn't coughing nonstop, but enough to begin fearing if his end was nearing and it made her angrier because they were supposed to be fucking landing soon but apparently they aren't there yet.

She wanted to put a nurturing hand on him. Anything at this point but she had to cradle Diana closer because the closer they got to the ground, the more the turbulence of the plane increased.

If she wasn't so worried for Nick, she probably is worried about whether or not they were going to crash but he was on her mind too much right now. He had to make it. He had to.

"Nick!" She called out, having to exclaim with all of the ruckus going on. He didn't respond though. Adalind wanted to say his name again but had to catch a hold of herself to not fall over from a big jolt of turbulence.

"Hang on!" Kelly shouted toward her and Adalind held Diana safer to her as she caught herself against the plane's wall once again. Her Hair whipped in her face, she was staring through her blond strands as if it was rainfall falling down a window. Disorientated and bleak. Creepily fitting as she was teetering on her feet but gazing at Nick.

Dreary and eerie seemed to fit if he was going to make it to the spice shop in time.

Kelly was bobbing along with the plane as she stepped toward Nick. For the first time ever possibly, Adalind saw genuine fear in those eyes of hers.

She wanted to tend to Nick with her but she had more trouble maintaining balance since she was holding onto Diana so she decided to just let go of the efforts for now. Watching Nick but making sure she didn't fall.

"Nick!" Kelly exclaimed as she had to regain her balance from sliding backward.

She managed to crouch down now although slipping a little. "Nick!" She exclaimed over the noise once again. She put both her hands on his cheeks. Tapping his left cheek with her right hand like slaps "Nicky!" She exclaimed.

His eyes glazy and lazily opened for a moment but shut back.

Nick felt himself somewhat wake up but he just couldn't manage much anymore. It's like his eyelids were weighing down on themselves, and his throat was dry yet filled with blood at the same time.

He wanted to speak but wasn't sure if words were even forming.

Now that he thought about it, his mouth probably just was hanging open, flopping around with barely any movements. He felt his mother give him a gentle shake and tell him to stay with her but he felt himself slipping.

Not dying. He had to admit, the amount of pain he was in right now, part of him wish it would just come.

Imagine being too fatigued to even be in pain?

More blood coughed its way out of him and it burned his chest. He could feel himself passing out almost like last time, but his soul was telling him that when those lids closed again. It be forever.

Yet his will dimmed along with his vision.

He watched his mother fearfully staring into his eyes, but he felt Adalind staring into the depths of them.

He lifted them a little to see her in the back. He always loved her eyes. One of the reasons why he watched them so closely whenever he saw her.

No matter if she was trying to piss him off or doing something devious. No matter if she was trying to imply innuendos or be serious. If she was hurting or smiling...Her eyes were always genuine.

It conveyed what she was feeling or her intentions more than her actual words or actions.

Maybe it was just the detective in him and that's why he saw it like that. He felt himself slipping away but now his mind was thinking about all those times.

Remembering when he first saw her walking out of that coffee shop. Her smile was gorgeous, but the way her eyes appeared, it looked like she was going through the motions. She laughed but didn't maintain and her face went back to stoic at first.

That was when he looked away to talk to Hank for a moment but looked back a few seconds later. She was beaming at him, he always wonder if that was her way of saying hello.

Or maybe her friend said something again and he didn't catch it that time but that smile looked genuine and he could tell. When she actually smiles or laughs, her eyes always get this set of perfect lines under them, her cheeks puff out and she always smirks a little after.

Why she was smiling at him he wasn't ever sure. He remembered smiling at her although he could pass it off as doing the same thing she was at first, laughing at something his friend said.

Which he was. But he knows they were staring at wanted to offer his own innocent smile and he watched her eyes become kinder as those teeth were beaming. But as he said, it was the eyes that brought out the best in her face. That smile was for sure not too far behind though.

Then it went from kindness to fear and her body tensed up as they both saw each other's other form.

In the hospital with his aunt.

He watched them once again. He saw resignation and a lack of want to along with a quick flash of fear at him. Yet she moved to do what she was there for anyway despite clearly not being a fan of being in the same room as him. Which now he knows was because of Sean.

Grabbing at her hand and trying to stop her, it switched to a gaze of defiance and anger. Even though she was probably scared, she still had so much pride at being stopped from accomplishing her goal.

Then he was passing out and before she Woge, her eyes were angered and didn't even have a look of fear no longer. Always determined he deemed.

This now leads him to the day he walked in and she was standing in Renard's office. He was shocked to see her and her face looked disturbed to see him as well. But once he regained composure and actually watched her stare, he could tell she was exactly where she wanted to be. But could tell she still didn't want to be there in a room with him.

The first questioning of her too, he remembered how her breath hitched when he walked in. Yet she went back to speaking as if her vibe didn't change.

Then Nick started going at her and her face was supposed to be showing 'confusion' but her eyes showed she was surprised, intrigued by how he came at her. Like she wanted to see how he was going to play it in front of the unknowing Hank at the time.

"Unless Ms. Schade has something to hide..." He remembered what he said to her in rising contempt.

Her face had that little 'innocent smile' again but he knows that wasn't her genuine smile. He knows what that is and this wasn't that. It was fake but that challenging look that grew in her eyes was what he was paying attention to.

Taken aback that he was so forward but then like she was glad he was entering this little tango with her. "No more than you do detective..." She said sweetly and he stilled at the words. He could see the satisfaction she felt at it too like she wanted to show off to him then flip back to being sweet again when she turned back to Hank.

Part of him wondered if she liked being in the lions' den. Gave her a thrill as long as she knows she was untouchable and willing to push the needle. Boldly disingenuous she was as well then. She likes when she has full control of the emotions in the room and the moment.

So the next time he saw her, he decided to strip that from her. Two could play that game.

After Hank left, he made sure he took over the room from her. Wouldn't let her manipulate the conversation or emotions this time. So he did as he did in the interrogation room, but this time, he kept pressing her and not allowing her to speak.

She watched him confidently at first until he started doing that. Then those pupils were screaming in annoyance.

Now all of a sudden she was quiet again. Annoyed she was, but now she was on to a new way to capture the moment, silence. Probably hoping he would keep on talking and accusing then have a temper flare up at how she was seemingly ignoring him.

He almost went for it but he could see that growing pissed look etched on her face and intensifying with her enraged gaze. He had her right where he wanted her.

Nick knew he just had to make sure he pressed the right buttons. It was kind of fun.

Her glare was stony so she was trying to regain her composure so he pounced. He couldn't just start with another insult, he had to lead her into it.

"Look, I can't help you...Unless you tell me why Melissa wants to kill you." He started and the glare lessened.

She leaned in slightly as words came out. "You have no idea what you are in the middle of." She said with an almost whispering hiss.

Alright, you got her thinking she can regain control. Now snatch it away. "Oh, well then who can blame me for making a mistake and letting another Queen Mellifer kill another Hexenbiest." He said in the smuggest tone he could muster along with a smirk that oozed it.

He expected her to show anger once again but he got even better. She hissed at him in her Hexenbiest form that she couldn't hold back but quickly regain composure again. He couldn't help the superior, almost evil grin that beamed on his face at that too.

Taste of her own medicine.

He also noticed how when she Woge back, her eyes remained shut as if she was disappointed in herself for letting him get to her. That's what made the grin really come out.

But he shouldn't have celebrated.

A few moments later, she took it right back. Frustrated she was, but she still managed. "If something happens to me, it won't just be a Grimm killing a hexenbiest..." Her eyes never blinked, and her voice was so cold it almost was trembling. "It'll be a cop, who's let an innocent woman die on his watch..."

She regained control but she wasn't playing around anymore. She was upset. "Up...To you..." She said so coldly he was surprised he couldn't see her breath. Those eyes begin losing the frustration and started regaining a challenging look in them and Nick realized she just fucking did it again.

Damn it! His mind screamed as he now had his own glare.

This led them to after he had to save her from the Mellifer and how Hank was holding her to make sure she was alright. She acted and looked so 'fragile & hurt' but then when she saw him watching.

The devious look in her eyes and the evil, hell-like grin she snuck and gave him was telling itself. Like she won their little back-and-forth in the end. Competitive and petty she was too, he found out at that moment.

Then at the damn double dinner date.

She was in full-on acting mode. Fake smiles but giving him little looks with her eyes to mess with him. Overly grinning or laughing at every damn thing that was said but would stare at him daringly every time.

Knowing he was glaring at her but would act like she couldn't see it but he saw the corner of her eye always was looking at him.

They traded a few barbs at the table but nothing too direct. He was busy being pissed she was anywhere near Hank at this moment. He did catch himself wondering how she was going to play this one though.

If she thought he was going to trade jabs with her verbally again, she was sadly mistaken. He was in no mood.

Apparently, she had a 'phone call' to take but he wasn't too far behind her. She was on the phone and claiming to be talking about a case but he wasn't dumb, he didn't know what she was actually doing but he didn't care at this moment.

Snatching the phone from her and telling her she better stay out of Hank's life.

She appeared angry once again but he could tell it wasn't for the accusations, it was for snatching her phone because she snatched it back and because they both couldn't stand each other's faces yet always found themselves being in them.

She had the gall to scoff in his face and try to walk away too so he grabbed her arm firmer. Her lips parted and he saw an angry smirk but her eyes glared into his with a stare like she kind of liked it for a moment but knew that meant she was under his skin.

"Did it ever occur to you that this is exactly what it looks like?" She asked as if he was being ridiculous.

It almost made him laugh at how much she invested herself into these lies. "No, never. You're a liar."

"Because I'm not telling you everything?" He had a bad feeling he fell into this one. "Guess you speak from experience" She batted her lashes at him and gave him an irritating 'O' so sad' look. Why the hell was he always captured by those damn eyes. They pissed him off anyways at the time.

"I'm not going to let this happen." He whispered harshly. Stepping more into her space.

"Try & stop it" She met his same tone and stepped into his face before turning to leave. Their tempers in the face of severe provocation. No, he wasn't just going to let her have the last word and think she can do whatever she wants.

He snatched her arm back again but two women were walking down and that victorious, evil smirk met her eyes just as much as her lips. "Maybe I should scream..." She said as he had to let her go and she allowed her eyes to linger on him a little longer. Like she wanted and was hoping for him to snap so she could put on her best screaming effort.

She did it...Again.

How the hell does she keep doing that?!

It frustrated him to a level he never knew he could reach. He wished it was her face but he punched through a restroom stall door, there was that temper flare she wanted so badly. Now he knows how truly defiant she could be.

Now to the infamous ruins, they clashed in. She was at her utmost arrogance there. Mocking as much as she could and talking down to him as if he was a child. Like she owned his world and there wasn't a damn thing he could do about it but watch her walk all over him in it.

She looked as if she was victorious before even claiming a victory.

About to walk away from him, swaying her hips before he spoke. Wanting to settle their differences violently. She agreed rather quickly because the amount of disdain and hate that appeared on her face happened so fast.

It was almost like she has been waiting for him to ask that since he first pissed her off.

Then their fight ensued and eventually, he found himself on top of her.

She looked scared for the first time in a long time with him and not pretend scared but truly scared. Then she looked like she was wondering what he was going to do.

Now still to this day, he isn't sure why he kissed her. Out of all the ways he could have done it, for some reason that one was his go-to.

He could have rammed his arm into her mouth and she probably would have bitten him still. He could have bitten his own lip and dripped his blood into her. Many ways he could have approached it.

But he decided to drive his lips down into hers.

Some would say maybe all that tension he had for her was of another variety since he kissed her. For a moment, for like half a second, it almost seemed like she invited him in until reality hit them both and she began biting the living shit out of him.

Oh, wait... 'nibbled' according to Adalind. If he was truly conscious he probably would have chuckled.

Then after he finally got his blood into her, she just layed there for a while. For the first time, she looked sad.

Hurt & sad.

Not just hurt & sad, but like she lost her spirit. Ironically enough, her Hexenbiest spirit began leaving her body as soon as he thought that.

For some reason, despite everything...he kind of felt bad watching her like that.

He wanted to check on her for another reason he wasn't sure of. The shock of reality dawned on him more and he still wasn't sure why he felt uneasy inside about all of this. As soon as he got in her face to check, she gasped out and it honestly spooked him.

He felt easily spooked right now.

She started whimpering as she begin slowly standing and he just kind of watched it all unfold. Part of him wanted to help her up. Part of him was weirded out for being bothered by seeing her like that.

Part of him just didn't know what the hell was going on with him.

Every word she spoke became more depressing. The gleam in her eyes said it all though.

Now he realized why he was so bothered as he gazed into them. He broke her.

Kill her he wanted to do a lot but he genuinely broke her. Never in his life did he ever think he breaks somebody's spirit, will, and fight. She said she was nothing now and he was the cause of that.

He was bothered because this woman who he constantly has been into with, was no longer any of the things she used to be at this moment.

This was the first time he stopped seeing her as a foe and instead saw her as if she was anybody else. Which she just said herself but not in a good way at all or how he was thinking it. A person who has fears, emotions besides manipulation and provocation & somebody whose eyes showed him that although she always appeared confident all the time.

She was deeply insecure about herself. He took her powers away and now she felt like a zero.

He stripped her of her mask one would say. Why he was bothered by it after everything she did though he doesn't know but maybe that's why he was different from his past ancestors.

Empathy he had more than ruthlessness.

She walked away in horror and he stared off after her in horror.

He should have killed her but she already said it best. He already did...

Nick knows she's dangerous with powers or not. She may not believe it yet but with the type of attitude and personality, she had, it wouldn't be long before she realized she isn't nothing without powers. He hated her but he could tell she was talented & capable in many things, just sad she uses it for evil.

Why he cared so much about that he doesn't know.

But he needed to get the hell out of here.

Now, this would all be very much short-lived of him feeling like that because like he just said...She was back and she was back with a vengeance not too long after that moment.

Not only was she back for vengeance and for the key. She was back to her old games she always like to play with him. Teasing yet direct, threatening yet sincere(although evil), and a face showing but eyes telling all.

Sitting across from her in the interrogation room felt like a full circle moment almost in a way. The first time he ever had a conversation with her was in one and now the first time he was seeing her again was in one again. Except for this time, she was a genuine suspect, not like last time.

He had to admit, if she didn't do what she did to Juliette and he didn't hate her so much more, he would credit her for looking lively and confident once again. In his opinion, she looked better actually.

Her skin was no longer milky pale and she tone down her makeup. She was fully human now so maybe that made her look more natural and it suited her.

But she still knows how to capture a room. Not with her looks, but those words that can be a poisonous trap if you fall into it.

She got him in the interrogation room once again too but he honestly wasn't in the mood to back and forth with her. Adalind must have known because she was in full-on nonchalant smugness, disingenuous and flashing that sweet to the outside but telling to him grin.

She never stopped grinning unless it was to smirk.

Eyes always locked on his like she wanted to make sure he knew she was in control right now. Every question he asked, she had an answer and for every hole he tried to find in her alibi, she had an excuse along with proof.

Always making sure to throw in a subliminal comment at the end of half of the things she said. Ending it with a "One more thing...You don't know what happened to my cat do you..." Voice feigned innocence but smirked with her stare if that was even possible.

Part of him wanted to throw her on the table and hope to get away with choking the life out of her.

But she was just being Adalind, she's trying to get that out of you. He knows how this game with her goes.

Yet...It still wasn't over as he had to deal with her again in the cell.

"The royal here in Portland?" He knew that was the answer but asked with annoyance. Watching her through the bars.

Nick knows that look she was giving too, she was getting ready to build up something. "Uh-huh" She let the word draw out slowly out of her mouth. Like she was being so sweet to someone so clueless kind of way. "Would you like a name to go along with that?" She leaned in with that smile and oddly enough, that smile was one of her genuine ones.

Not genuine in a good way for his case, but because she was having her way with him and loving every single second of it. Making sure to milk it too. If it wasn't being done to him, watching her work her magic would probably be very amusing and a sight to see.

But again, not in the mood. "That be nice." He said, now he was even more fed up. Which again, she loved. Watching her walk up the bars to get in his face once again. It started amazing him how much they always preoccupied each other space to get under the skin of the other.

On the outside looking in, you would think it's two people who needed to get a room.

"Well..." She had her hands on the bars and was only inches away from him now. "I would like nothing better than to tell you Nick, I mean really I would." She began saying and if regret was a person...it definitely wouldn't be her at this moment even though she was pretending to sound it.

"Because under different circumstances, you & I could have really had some fun..." She finished saying and his breath hitched because no way she said what he thinks she just said. She meant it too, he could tell.

She also knows it would fuck with him and it worked he had to admit. What really got him, was he honestly thought he saw lust in her pupils before she went back to mischievous.

So she did get amused by the crap she does to him when she enters this mode.

If he didn't hate her so much and she was constantly a thorn in his life. He probably would find it slightly arousing himself.

She wasn't going to give him anything useful though so he decided to just have the last word and be done with her. "I guess you don't need to be a Hexenbiest to be a witch."

She stepped closer to the bars if that was possible. "You don't need to be a witch, to work this kind of magic." She said very sultrily yet teasingly in the most Adalind way possible. As always. He stilled again for a moment because he literally was just thinking about she works her 'magic' still.

Sometimes he wondered why he always played along with her when he knows what she was doing and he should want to say a few words to her since he hated her.

But he was glad to have all of those moments with her. Well, now he was.

Put each other through so much hell and then who would ever believe he would walk into hell with her? That day at the house when she dropped the bombshell that Renard gave the baby to the Royals was definitely one of those life-changing moments that he never knew was coming by saying the words "I will."

Ever since that moment though, the way her eyes were, in general, were a lot different.

She cried a lot, still was sometimes and they always carried this gleam to the, now. Made them glow sometimes.

When she had an attitude or was getting pissed, they still glared like they were angry from a place of hurt which she was. He watched how she would have a look of fondness over her usual arrogance. Especially with Diana. How she stared at her was so beautiful every time.

Insight and intrigue over two-faced and prodding.

Truthful instead of manipulative.

He could go on and on but as always...Those eyes were genuine. He watched her face tell thousands of lies but those eyes never could. This was the first time it's been a good genuine for him of course.

Seeing how she used to be and seeing how she is now, really stunned him.

Maybe that's why he always like being so close to her. Hate or no hate, he got lost in them every time. It was only recently he felt like he actually looked into them, not just at them. There was so much in them.

So much buried that she dug up and allowed him to see.

He knew he was out of it but he felt like something was still grasping onto him but wanting him to wake up one more time. Like a tug. He felt like a cliché but he would never forget them.

Bright blue, with a slight sparkle in the iris. Big but gorgeous. Never deceitful and always telling.

What he would give to see them one more time.

He felt that tug again. It was stronger though.

He must have started leaving the mental state he was in because reality started setting in for him, was he on his last breaths, or did he still have a little time left but barely in conscious seconds?

Was Adalind and how she used to be, on his mind because he subconsciously wanted her to be his last thought and memory? Did hating her cause him to be so enamored with her as he is now?

Theirs that tug again.

He feels like he probably should have died already, but only still living off of his will. Or will she has given him more of that he wasn't aware of.

Everything was dark but light started showing. Considering the current situation, he didn't know if seeing a light like that was a good thing or not. But it was there and brightening every half second.

Tugging more.

It was too bright yet he felt himself staring ahead with no issue. Sitting down as well.

A figure appeared in front of him again and he started thinking about how this sort of happened the last time he almost died with Rispoli. Nick began wondering sometimes if this was real in a way or himself trying to push himself one more time to get up.

The tug was stronger.

Now she was standing right in front of him. Angelic smile, beautiful blonde hair, the only image he could see and she was crouching down. He didn't move but followed her with his eyes. Bluer than ever hers was right now.

Even in dreams or hallucinations...whatever this was, she captured him with those orbs of hers.

Her hands reached out and softly landed on his cheeks. All those moments he had with her flashed before him and he began realizing how fond he was of her even when he despised her.

"Wake up" He heard said in the background like it was from a place he couldn't reach but her mouth never moved. Yet it sounded like her. "Nick" He heard now and it sounded like a scream almost.

Adalind was in front of him still though, smiling and rubbing her hand across his cheek. "Wake up." She said from in front of him so softly it coaxed him internally.

She leaned forward and gently placed her forehead on his. Both of their eyes closed at the touch then she opened hers and they were right in front of his now. "Wake up." She said even softer than that tug happened one more time.

Nick's eyes shot open all of a sudden and he felt soft hands on his face but his eyes closed too fast to cough or maybe even vomit out blood to the side. Now he was coughing or wheezing out a little more and he felt all the weakness and pain he had been feeling but some parts of him were becoming numb.

"Nick!" He heard a familiar voice call out and he looked up for a moment to see Hank hunched over and staring at him with concern and most likely some disturbance at the image in front of him.

Nick was shocked to see him as well but couldn't acknowledge as he coughed some more. His eyes caught who was in front of him though and he realized it was Adalind. Maybe that's why she was holding him in that dream. She was doing it in reality too.

And that was her voice. He coughed some more.

His breathing was stretched and sounded like he had a cold in his lungs while also not being able to breathe but he was. More like a heave for air but anything was better than nothing at this point.

"Hey hey." He heard Adalind's voice soft, but frantic address him. "We're finally back but we got to go okay?" She said to him and he honestly couldn't even speak barely but saw his mother holding Diana and Hank was offering him a hand already.

Adalind's eyes had a wet gleam to them so she was holding back her tears. They must have been trying to wake him for a little while longer than just a few seconds.

Hank grabbed ahold of his arm to start trying to direct him up and Adalind was holding on to him, somehow, her touching him felt like that was what was helping him up even more than Hank.

His legs still felt like pieces of jelly so he almost tumbled over as he coughed out more blood.

Hank held him up and put Nick's arm around his shoulder so he could lean on him and Adalind was on his right to hold him up as well but she had her hands more so on his chest and back like directing and a nurturing feel.

Nick was almost wondering when they landed but his mind was too busy on trying not to die in the car. "You never saw us here and you never were here." He heard his mother say to somebody in the back. Must have been the pilot.

They got to Hank's car and he opened the door to the backseat and continue holding Nick as Adalind got in first. She then helped Hank get him in the car the best they could and Nick's head was on her lap akin to how it was on the plane.

Hank shut the door and ran to the driver's side in a hurry as Kelly got in the passenger's seat with Diana. Hank quickly got in and told everybody to be ready because he was going to be going at a high speed as safely as he could.

Adalind heard the keys jingle as Hank almost was fumbling from going so fast but he didn't. The engine cracked and they were off.

Nick coughed some more and it got on Adalind's shirt but she didn't give a damn. She took off the jacket she had on and balled it up so Nick could cough into that tough. It would be easier for him and they didn't want to track blood all over Hank's car.

Not that it was anywhere near his mind at the moment.

"Can't you go any faster!" Adalind said impatiently, directed at Hank.

"I'm going as fast as I can!" He exclaimed back as he made a sharp turn. His driving skills were being put to the test and is impressing right now.

Adalind checked forward and for a moment lost thought because she just realized she gave Diana to Kelly. The same woman who just told her she thought about taking her. She must really believe in Kelly being over that then to do that so unconsciously and naturally.

She would have thought of it more but Nick began coughing once more. Snapping her mind back to him.

Adalind took off her other jacket and was now down to her shirt. She used it to wipe the sweat off of his face and the blood off of his cheeks and the corner of his lips. She wanted to do it so fast but knew she had to be slow.

It almost felt like a waste to wipe it because every time he coughed, it just ended up back there but she had to do something.

Sitting there and just watching him slowly fade away made it feel like she was doing absolutely nothing to help him. "Hurry!" She said to Hank again and he didn't respond this time.

"Is the stuff ready?" She heard Kelly who still even when she was worried, sounded somewhat calm. Adalind realized she was on the phone too and must have been with Rosalee.

"It's almost done cooking! How is he?" Rosalee questioned. Kelly looked toward the backseat and saw it wasn't looking good at all as she watched the veins grow onto his face now. Adalind blotting away the sweat and trickles of blood that kept coming along. "Just make sure it's done." Kelly said and hung up.

"If it can go faster, make it." She said to Hank and he let out a drawn, stressful breath because he wanted to go faster but not too out of control with a baby and his injured close friend in critical condition.

More coughing filled the car as Hank made a turn. Adalind recognized the rode so they were getting close to wherever they were headed. She assumed Monroe and Rosalee's house again.

She felt her leg rumble a little and peered down to see Nick was laughing although a strangled one. "Fe-...Feels like..." He coughed some more and Adalind felt a tear stroll down her face and she rubbed her thumb over his forehead gently. "Feels like it's been months." He finally said.

Adalind for sure agreed with that. Yet she didn't want him talking too much. "I don't think you should be talking right now." She sniffed out at the end. Offering him a weak, sad smile. Her thumb still caressing his forehead.

Horror grew in her as she creepily watch another vein grow black from his cheek to his hair. His lips look sickly pale from constant blood making them raw and his voice was gravely as well.

"Besides the...hurting ribs... gunshot wounds and...being stabbed and probably a severe concussion..." He coughed a little more. "I actually feel pretty..." Slight cough. "Good. Could be worse" He finished and she could tell he wanted to talk as a distraction maybe even if she didn't think it was a good idea.

Still caressing his forehead. "I don't know..." She paused to add to the effect. "You do look a little dirty." She joked and he tried to laugh but ended up coughing some more, another vein growing as well. Kelly looked in the back and then at Hank, signaling for him to hurry up.

Hank also was listening in on the conversation going on behind him. "Yeah well" He turned his head slightly toward the warmth of her. About to return the comment because her face was almost as smutty and dirt covered as his. "You look..." His eyes arched up and he ended up meeting hers. His mouth hung open from when he was going to speak but his smile faded as they still took his breath away.

"Genuine." He said sincerely before coughing a little more. Adalind could tell that, his saying that was a little deeper than what she knew right now.

She grabbed ahold of his one free hand and gave it a little squeeze "Promise fulfilled" He said kindly. Coughing a little more but harder. "Officially." He peeked at Diana from the angle he could.

"Now I got to make sure I make good on mine...So don't screw it up for me." She said through tears and a growing sadder smile. He laughed a little but not too hard but at least he didn't cough.

"I'll try my best." He offered her a waning weak smile and his eyelids were becoming lazy.

Adalind heard the car come to a screeching halt. "We're here!" Kelly said.

AN: Kind of reflection chapters these past two! Hope you enjoyed it.

Rix1998 Thank you for your well wishes! Really meant & means a lot! :) He's almost healed...hopefully.

Alexis Thank you for the good wishes! I'm glad you're enjoying the story so much as well. I've said this so much but I will be trying to upload better haha!

Lucy Conan Yes! Always wish Adalind & Kelly could have had a better and more deeper talk than they did in the show. Felt like they shared a lot of similarities in a way. In terms of the situations, they were tasked with. Hope you enjoyed the new chapter.

GrimmFan I'm very VERY glad to hear you can see and hope there are at least 20 more chapters of this story! It most likely will be around that too haha. Didn't even expect it to go this long or be this well-liked. Hope you enjoyed the new chapter as well.

ReaderNotAWriter85 Always love to see your comments:) I'm glad you always enjoy the chapters!

Moon cat Yeah I almost forget that's why it took her so much longer to warm up to Adalind because of her ties to Juliette.

smoak999 Thank you! I'm glad you are loving it. Appreciate all the love you show it!

scorpio38457 Very happy you liked the dialogue between them. Thank you as well!

Helga Glad you liked the storyline timing was changed at all. Figured it be kind of nice to have everything still happen mostly the same, just different in the end.
About your Hank question though, I kind of was just making Hank say a little off-hand comment since he hasn't seen them together or how they are together yet. But I think most people write it like that because Hank usually is the one always questioning everything to be sure and seems like the kind of friend who will wish you well but would remain cautious himself to keep a lookout. That's my insight on why people write him like that I believe. I do wish the show kind of gave a deeper insight into how he felt about it though!
