A/N: Late Happy new year my dear readers! Hope you're having a great start for 2023! Here is part 3 and the conclusion for the Conjuring arc.

Where I opted once again for extra character development. Enjoy

Fun fact. Luz loves all manners of creatures but if she had a favorite it would be dragons that if she were to play Pokemon she would go for an all dragon team and be a dragon master. She would even go as far as use their forms as basis for her transformations.

Luz's Forms:

Default Form- Luz's usual go to form is that of a tall average built light purple - skinned humanoid with messy brown hair with black streaks. She has two horns sticking out of her head and possesses dark purple scales all over her body. She has sharp teeth, fangs, and webbed ears. Additionally she has claws, a tail with a tail-fin at the tip, and dark magenta reptilian eyes that is always kept no matter what form she takes.

Human Form-Luz's human form is that of a younger version of her mother with the exception of being taller than average, retains her sharp teeth from her default form, and keeps her hair in a pony tail.

Basilisk- Luz mentions that she has a basilisk form but it is yet to be seen

Items/Equipments:

Eda's old training wand-An item that allows Luz to perform magic through unknown means. It is a light brown stick with a thicker, darker brown handle. Connecting the handle to the stick is a gray cylinder with a cracked screen. According to Eda it lacks a power source.

Potions-Luz keeps a variety of basic level potions on her person. She usually makes them with Eda's help.

Bottomless bag- a special bag that can hold unlimited number of items. Luz received this from Daimon to help with her potion lessons and to make it easier to carry around items. Used to store her other possessions.

Pets/Companions:

Gunther-a three headed Cockatrice that Luz hatched from an egg she got from the beast keeping coven. Has the ability to breathe fire, spit acid, and generate powerful wind. Typically docile unless agitated. Usually nests on top of Luz's hair.

Jeff-The leader of the gnomes and generally the one who pass on Luz's instructions or commands to the others. Is able to merge with them to form a giant super gnome. Sometimes hangs out with King. Does not like Eda

"So...Dryad"

"Are you familiar with the Moonlight Conjuring ritual"

"No"

"They say that the ritual was discovered a long long time ago by witches of old. Though some records suggest this ritual was taught to them. Of course we have no way to confirm if any of it is true"

"Where are you going with this?"

"Oh nothing. Just curious if this annual ritual was another piece of knowledge imparted by your "enlightened" kind to us witches. After all your people did teach the first witches the art of beast keeping. You're all supposed to be "better" and "smarter" than us yet your wisdom didn't save your people from extinction"

"Fuck you..."

"*Snickers* I do enjoy these little chat of ours Dryad. Now on to the next question..."

Amity hums a happy tune as she placed the finishing touches on her fairy pie.

She found herself in a particularly good mood tonight. The twins were out due to being invited to a moonlight conjuring. Mom and Dad had some business to take care of which left her all alone with the manor for tonight which was perfect!

She could invite all her friends to a moonlight conjuring! Well technically friend since her only friend was Willow but that wasn't the point!

She had free reign to do whatever she want tonight!

She hears a notification from her penstagram which she immediately opens only to see that it was a post from none other than the human-er basilisk posting what looked like an image of them and Skara wearing makeup?

'How dumb' She couldn't help but think back to their talk during covention.

She regrets some of the things she had said to Luz, some of which she admits was a bit mean, but it was for their own good! Especially the only real witches thing but in her defense it was a spur of the moment thing! Besides It wasn't like what she said about Boscha was a lie in the first place.

And she did apologize by undoing the oath.

Then there was the whole fact that Luz was in fact a basilisk! Well half basilisk but still! That piece of information had taken her back that it had still not left her mind. Like how did it even happen? Basilisks were extinct! And how did one even managed to get to the human realm and...be with a human!? It was so mind boggling!

And a part of her was ashamed to admit that she had been afraid of Luz when she revealed she was a basilisk. As a child she had heard stories about Basilisks and how they were terrible monsters who preyed on innocent witches and demons and brought nothing but pain and misery to everyone. She had asked her teacher Lilith about it once, who explained that in the past the Emperor said that Basilisks were harbingers of wild magic and thus they were wiped out as the titan's will decreed.

'Guess they missed a few judging by the fact that Luz exists' She thought to herself.

When she looks at Luz she didn't see a monster or a chaos bringer. Even though they cheated all she saw was a girl who was protective of her friend (even if said friend didn't deserve it) and eager to learn magic like every other kids their age.

Like you and Willow...

Amity shook her head. Now was not the time to think about such thoughts. Tonight its just her and her best friend having a good time.

When she saw the Luz uploaded another image this time showing off some weird looking food she puts away her penstagram before she made her way to the living room where she saw Willow talking with a boy, whose name she had forgotten.

Willow had asked her earlier if she could invite him and well couldn't say no to her best friend.

"Hey Willow! I brought snacks!"

"Yay, snacks!" Willow's friend said excitedly

"Yay!" Willow also lets out a cute cheer

She couldn't help but let out a relaxed sigh.

Yep. Nothing was going to ruin this night for Amity Blight.

"Nightmare fuel! Get it while it's traumatizing!"

"Assorted curses! Back by unpopular demand"

"Bootlegged legs! Fresh from a wet cave!"

Eda strides through the night market cautiously as she overheard people going about their own business, some selling their wares ranging from organs to magical artifacts that have a high chance of being cursed. There was a reason she only comes here when she needs something of importance...or when she's bored.

She hears the more shadier groups whispering about their business.

"...heard this mansion is left unguarded"

"Really?"

"Yeah. My source tells me the owner is on a business trip. It's ripe for the picking"

She shook her head as she continued to walk through the night market.

The Night Market was almost a safe haven for Wild Witches from the Emperor's dumb coven system.

Emphasis on "almost"

While it was relatively safe there were still the occasional scouts that were walking around, looking for criminals like her, not to mention rivals and bounty hunters who would be more than happy to turn her in for her impressive bounty.

The Emperor's influence was really sinking into every nook and cranny on the boiling Isles which sucked!

If only that idiotic master of the night market, Vitimir, didn't sell out and became head witch of the potion's coven! The Night Market would be an actual safe haven. Seriously why did that bastard even agree to it!? He's supposed to be a criminal mastermind! That idiot was the reason so many wild witches were caught, some of which she were acquainted with.

She pinched the bridge of her nose before she let out a sigh, still disappointed that Luz had chosen to go to that dumb conjuring instead of accompanying her to this place.

The only reason she even thought to comr here was to show the kid around this place and even teach her some magic so when the kid preferred a dumb conjuring over a trip with her...well she was disappointed and a bit hurt.

And it wasn't like she could force the kid to come with. She normally would but after the...owl beast incident. It would be unfair, especially with how forgiving the kid was. Their kindness was almost sickeningly sweet.

She couldn't even forgive herself for what she did to...

No no no. Stop thinking about that!

Yet Luz...the kid wasn't even bothered. She had ripped off the kid's arm for titan's sake! Sure they grew it back but still! Anyone else would be terrified of her and even hate her so why?

So after the incident in order to make up for it she had taken her role as mentor more seriously. She looked up teaching books, gave the kid more potion making lessons, researched ways for powerless witches to do magic and so much more!

It was the least she could do.

She even went as far as to start looking up books on Basilisks in order to help the kid with her dream of finding others even if part of her knew it was a fruitless endeavor.

After all...she once searched for them herself in an attempt to cure her curse. Of course it ended in failure.

She found herself pulled from her thoughts when she saw a crowd gathering around a stall.

"Huh? Wonder what's going on here" She said to herself as she approached the stall, pushing through the crowd to get to the front for a clear view.

She saw that the commotion was just some pig demon showing off his product to gullible customers, which she is not.

She was about to leave though when the salesdemon said something that caught her attention.

"...and now presenting a one of a kind item! A special Potioneer's backpack used by any Potioneer worth his salt! Even the head witch of the potion coven himself uses one of these bad boys!" the salesman explained eagerly to the crowd.

Eda herself was now interested.

"Enchanted with the same spell used for your bottomless bags, this tool allows you store infinite ingredients and not only that it allows you to produce potions condensed into a small ball! You heard that right! With this baby you no longer need to worry about always having a bottle in hand, just make sure its always supplied with ingredients and the tool will do the rest! You're probably wondering how does it work? Well allow me to explain!"

At that point Eda was no longer paying attention, mostly because the salesman's explanation was boring her. She wasn't a nerd like her sister but she was sure of one thing though.

She was getting this thing. Not for herself obviously. As the most powerful witch of the boiling Isles she has no need for this thing. But a certain naive student of hers did.

She may not have been able to get a proper wand for them. But this thing will make up for it.

"Hey buddy" She approaches the salesman who stopped mid explanation

"Yes?"

"How much for this thing?" she asked a bit impatient

"Oh! It seems we have our first customer. Well since this thing is highly valuable it would usually be way more expensive but because today's my birthday I'm willing to throw you a deal. This will be yours for the low low price of...5000 snails" the salesman said

"5000 snails?! I don't have that kind of money!" Eda slammed her hands on the counter "What kind of scam are you running here?"

"Oh it's no scam. After all this thing is one of a kind" the salesman said smugly "But I can see how badly you want it. Lucky for you we are hosting a special game today with this tool as the prize"

Eda's eyes narrows at that "What's the game?"

"Oh just a simple gladiator ring. Last one standing gets the tool, simple as that. As a bonus we'll throw in some rare ingredients too. Interested?"

Eda thought it over. On one hand she was not in the mood to fight in an arena. On the other hand...

'The things I do for love' She thought in exasperation. "Fine. Sign me up"

"Wonderful! Just sign this form saying we are not responsible for any deaths or injuries you may sustain"

"Yeah yeah whatever" She said annoyed as she signed.

It was at this moment she remembered that she wasn't alone when King finally woke up from his nap.

"Ugh. How long was I asleep?"

Well. At least she won't be alone for this one.

Meanwhile....

"Why hello there, little one"

Boscha fearfully took a step back as she stared at the psycho that was Celine's aunt.

She opened her mouth to speak but found no words coming out.

She rarely felt fear. Hell she usually react violently to what others would react fearfully to. It was a trait she was somewhat proud of and was sometimes scolded for by Luz and Bo because she was being reckless.

But now. She found herself frozen in place like a chupacabra in a light spell. All because of the woman in front of her.

She saw Hettie opened her smug mouth to speak

"Hel-" Hettie began to say only to have the door slammed in her face.

Boscha looks to the side for a brief moment as if still not believing that Hettie was actually here. She then proceeds to open the door again.

"-lo!"

She slams the door again seeing that Hettie was still there.

"Nope" she says as she turned around and ran back to the other two idiots in the house. She was not dealing with this bullshit. Her friends can deal with Hettie.

Which made her stop in place as she realized how much of a bad idea that was. Skara never reacted well to creeps and Luz was too damn naive that the basilisk girl might even let Hettie into the house!

With a sigh she went right back for the door, intending to confront Hettie herself.

Don't judge her! She just didn't want her friends dealing with such a creep.

"The things I do for love" Boscha said to herself in annoyance as she opened the door.

Meanwhile...

"Oh yeah that's the spot" Skara lets out a relaxed sigh as Luz gave her a shoulder massage.

"I'm glad you're liking it" Luz said with a smile as she continued to give her friend a massage. She had offered to give one after Boscha had walked out, thinking that it would help pass the time since Celine was supposedly on her way soon.

"How are you sooo good at this~" Skara lets out another relaxed sigh "Can you do my back as well?"

"Sure! You know I haven't told anyone this but I've always wanted to be a chiropractor" Luz said, growing a second pair of arms in order to work on Skara's back

"A chiropractor? What's that" Skara asked

"Basically a massager but instead of people I want to be able to be one for animals. I saw a video once about some guy who does it and when he said it's a rare profession but it really helps animals so I thought 'You know what? I want to be a chiropractor' so I got some practice massaging" Luz explained

"Well I'll say your practice paid off because Titan! I've never felt such relief from my stiff shoulders- Oh~" Skara accidentally lets out a moan which cause Luz to stop abruptly out of surprise.

Meanwhile Skara's face went red "I- uh!" she stammered, embarrassed at what just happened.

Luckily the awkward moment was broken by Luz

"Well at least you're enjoying it" Luz lets out a sheepish laugh as Skara could only nod in embarrassment "Do you still want me to continue?"

Before Skara could answer though, Boscha had finally arrived with Celine behind her. The former was carrying what appeared to be a box labeled "Conjuring Stuffs"

"Hey morons! Celine is here" the triclops called out only to see the situation before her "What are you two doing?"

"Oh I was just giving Skara a massage!" She waved with her two right arms

"A massage?" Celine said confused

Since when did you know how to give a massage?" Boscha asked while putting down the box she was carrying down on a nearby table

"Since I was 8" Luz answered "You gals want one?"

"No" Boscha deadpans while Celine shook her head in amusement

Luz pouted in response while retracting her second pair of arms.

"Whatcha got in that box Boscha?" Skara, who had finally gotten over her embarrassment, asked

"Oh! These are just some things I brought for the moonlight conjuring" Celine answered "My aunt got it for me"

"Speaking of your aunt did you seriously have to bring her here?" Boscha asked, still feeling creeped out by the woman "You know she gives me the creeps!"

"Oh come on! She's not that bad. She just wanted to make sure I got here safe" Celine defended her aunt

"Wait your aunt was here? Oh man I wanted to meet her. She sounds fun" Luz said disappointed at the missed opportunity.

"Sure if your idea of fun is getting blisters all over your body and getting your tail pulled!" Boscha retorted

Luz looked like she wanted to retort but Skara intervened "You know what how about we start that conjuring?!" She laughed nervously hoping that she had prevented an argument.

Thankfully Luz, Boscha, and Celine agreed.

Celine then proceeded to draw what appeared to be strange symbols on the ground using chalk while chanting a strange language which Luz found oddly familiar.

"What is she doing?" Luz whispered to Boscha

"She's preparing the ritual. That circle is so that the spell doesn't go crazy. We wouldn't want to end up animating the entire house" Boscha explained with a bored look on her face

"Yeah. Only idiots wouldn't prepare a safety net" Skara added.

Luz briefly got a mental image of the owl house somehow standing up with Hooty saying something along the lines of Moonlight giving him power which made her chuckle in amusement

"Alright. The circle is ready. All we need now is an object to animate. Any suggestions?" Celine asked

"How about this doll?" Skara suggested pulling out what looked like a doll wearing a nurse outfit

"Or this man eating plant?" Luz eagerly said as she pulled out said man eating plant which had a bone sticking out of its mouth.

Boscha facepalmed at Luz "Luz that thing is literally already alive and sentient to boot. Why would we even animate it?"

Luz raised a hand to argue before realizing that Boscha has a point "Oh yeah...Although theoretically what would happen if we used moon magic on something that's alive like I don't know...A house demon or a person?" the basilisk girl asked in a curious tone

"Heck if I know" Boscha shrugged

"Maybe it won't work?" Skara answered unsure

"Oh! I know this one! Aunt Hettie told me" Celine eagerly said, wanting to answer the question "Basically she explained to me that if you use the moon magic on someone or something that's alive then you pretty much get full control of them for the entire duration and there's nothing they can do about it. In other words you get a slave who you can do anything you want to instead of an animated object" she explained only to see that her friends had a look of horror at her answer.

"Wow that is so dark" Luz said, realizing the implications.

"Of course it is" Boscha huffed "You know what lets just go with the doll so that we can get this over with"

"Eh why not?" Luz shrugged while Celine nodded in agreement.

Boscha then placed down a bunch of candles around them. With a snap of her fingers they were all lit.

The four then moved to the center of the circle as Skara put the doll in the center, laying it as they sat in a diamond formation.

"Alright. Everyone knows what to do right?" Boscha asked

"Yep! We say the incantation" Skara said

"And then we make a connection with the doll" Celine added

Luz though was being quiet for some reason which Boscha noticed

"Luz? You did read about how the ritual is done right?"

"Oh yeah yeah! totally!" Luz said sheepishly

"You skipped the instructions didn't you?" Boscha deadpans.

"In my defense I was just so fascinated with the ritual's lore that I forgot!" Luz defended.

"It is pretty interesting" Celine admitted

"Really? I found it boring. All it talks about is boring old history and how some enlightened group taught it to the first witches" Skara yawned.

Boscha though looked visibly annoyed before she took a deep breath "You know what just follow my lead. Give me your hand" she demanded as she extended her hand to Luz who immediately accepted it. "Now do the same for Skara"

It didn't take long before all four girls now held each other's hands before they all closed their eyes and begun the incantation. Luz though just kept quiet due to not knowing the words for the ritual.

Moonlight, we call, we sing.

Moonlight, take this chance.

Moonlight, come tie the string.

Moonlight, start the dance!

As soon as they began chanting Luz immediately felt something. She had not told anyone this but a while back she had found out that she somehow had a sense for magic both with people and her surroundings. Of course she could only sense it when she focuses on it otherwise it was like an itch (she doesn't know if that was the right word to describe it) that you could ignore unless she acknowledges it.

Now though as her friend continued to chant the itch was becoming noticeable. She could feel a huge amount of magic wash over her and only continued to grow.

Unable to resist she opens her eyes and was taken back by what she saw.

The room was glowing with a bluish hue.

The light then began to condensed right in front of her seemingly towards the doll. But rather than go into the toy, the energy went up and began to gather into a bluish orb right on top of the toy that they were supposed to animate.

"Uh...guys?" Luz called out to her friends who still had their eyes closed.

Boscha was the first to open her eyes

"What the?!" she said in surprise.

Celine and Skara followed and was also taken back by what happened.

"Is this supposed to be happening?" Luz asked watching as the orb of energy remained suspended in the air.

"This has never happened before" Celine said, alarmed by what was happening

"No one make any sudden movements. We don't what's going on and it could be dangerous" Boscha instructed cautiously.

As if the universe was mocking her Luz suddenly felt the urge to sneeze "Uh oh" Luz said as her nose twitches

Skara seemed to notice this "Luz?"

"I need to sneeze" Luz said

"Hold it in!" Boscha whisper shouted while Celine had her mouth open in horror seeing that Luz was failing to hold in her sneeze

"I can't...A...a...Achoo!!!"

What happened next occured in the span of a few seconds.

The orb of energy suddenly glowed before it shot itself towards Luz and exploding into a flash of bright light that briefly illuminated the room, making everyone shield their eyes from the bright light . The resulting explosion sent the basilisk girl flying into the wall, causing her to let out a small "oof!" as she felt the wind knocked right out of her.

"Luz!" her friends yelled, immediately running up to check if she was ok.

Unknown to everyone the residue energy from the explosion was unintentionally being inhaled and absorbed by Luz as she took in a deep breath. The girl's eyes even glowed for a brief moment as a pair of crescent moon markings each appeared on the back of her hands.

"Are you ok?" Boscha asked worried, offering a hand to help Luz up from the floor.

"Y-Yeah. I think I'm alright" Luz said reassuringly as she accepted Boscha's hand and got up to her feet. She couldn't help but let out a groan when she felt her body ache for a moment before her healing factor finally kicked in to fix the damage.

"Hey Luz, What's that on the back of your hand?" Celine said noticing the markings.

"Huh? What the? Where did these come from?" Luz said confused by the markings.

"I don't know about you but they're pretty cool" Skara said looking over the moon marks.

"Are you sure they're not just tattoos?" Boscha asked

"Boscha I'm pretty sure I would know if I got a tattoo" Luz said sarcastically "But Skara's right they are pretty cool. Hmmm I wonder"

Luz proceeded to transform her hands into dragon like ones but to her surprise the markings were still there. She then tried to change her hand's appearance over and over but the markings just wouldn't disappear no matter what she does. "Ok this is freaking me out. Usually when I tattoo myself it disappears immediately when I transform"

"Let me try" Celine said before pulling out a towel. She scrubbed at the marking on Luz's hands but alas they still wouldn't come off.

"Welp. Guess this is part of me now" Luz said casually sitting down on the couch and crossing her arms.

"You're awfully calm about this" Boscha said

"Well they're just tattoos. Not like they're cursed or anything" As soon as Luz said this she placed one of her hands on a nearby table which was suddenly engulfed with a blue aura before it suddenly came to life.

"Hahaha I'm alive now!" the now alive table said

"What the fuck?!" Boscha yelled in surprise as Skara and Celine took a step back

"Woah!" Luz exclaimed

Before anyone could do anything the table suddenly run towards a nearby window and jumped out..

Everyone immediately ran up to said window and saw the sentient table outside run off into the woods while laughing until it was no longer in sight.

"What the heck just happened?" Skara said visibly confused

"I think I brought that table to life" Luz said in disbelief while looking at the markings on her hands

"No shit! But the question is how?! I'm pretty sure basilisk were not known to be able to do stuff like that unless somehow you can do magic now" Boscha stated.

Luz could only shrug in response

"Maybe it has something to do with what happened earlier. With the orb and the explosion that Luz was exposed to. Oh my titan maybe she somehow absorbed the moon's ability to animate objects!" Celine explained

"That's so cool! Does that mean I can bring stuff to life!?" Luz said before proceeding to touch a chair which like the table also came to life while laughing. "Oh my god! I can!" she laughed as she watched the chair also jumped out the window laughing like the table before it.

"This is so weird" Skara muttered

Luz stood on top of the sofa before proudly proclaiming "From her on out I shall be known as Luz, the life bringer!"

This earned a laugh out of her friends which lightened the mood, forgetting the weird incident earlier.

They then spent the next few minutes getting multiples items for Luz to bring to life. They ranged from chairs, tables, statues, and even the door which Boscha somehow ripped off.

Everyone had a blast. Though for some reason the items kept jumping out the window though they paid no mind to it.

"Hey we should totally post a penstagram about this." Boscha suggested.

"Sure!" the others agreed.

Luz though only had one thought for this moment

Best conjuring ever.

A part of her briefly thought how Amity was doing with her own conjuring. She had seen a post earlier that they were hosting one.

Amity smiled as she watched the stuffed bunny that she, Willow, and the boy had been successfully able to animate.

She had been slightly nervous that they would be unable to do it so when they succeeded she had been relieved and happy.

She summoned her scroll to take a picture for her penstagram and maybe get under Boscha's skin.

However to her surprise Luz had posted another photo. Had they also succeeded with their conjuring?

She brought up the photo only to be met with an image of Luz doing a weird pose with her friends while a bunch of object were seemingly sneaking up to them in the background while somehow holding ropes.

How weird...

For a moment her eyes lingered on Luz's cute face...

Wait a minute. Since when were her eyes yellow?

Meanwhile...

In an unknown location a mysterious figure could be seen observing a monitor.

On the monitor was a map of Earth with various locations pinpointed.

Gravity Falls

Los Angeles

Echo Creek

Gravesfield

The figure brought up a hand and the monitor zoomed in on Los Angeles which made a few pop ups of news articles to appear.

Three Girls mysteriously disappears!

The figure swiped their hand causing the screen to change to what appeared to be a list of people. They went through them one by one

Marcy Wu: Missing

Standford Pines: Under investigation

The figure then stopped at the last file which reveals a photo of Luz in her human form and another photo in her default form.

Name: Luz Noceda

Object Class: [Classified]

Description: [Redacted]

Status: Missing. Last seen in the Gravesfield forest before mysteriously disappearing.

The figure seems to let out a sigh before picking up a phone. When the phone finish ringing a voice answered

"What is it?"

"We have a situation...Subject 667-B has gone missing. Contact the tracking team"

"Subject 667-B has gone missing?! The director will not be happy to hear this!" the other person on the phone sounded alarmed

The figure pinched the bridge of their nose "I know which is why you are not to inform them until further notice. This subject has a habit of slipping past the observation team so for now stand by until we locate her"

"...as you wish" the other person said reluctantly "But if the director finds out you're on your own with this"

"I know" the figure then put down the phone before letting out a sigh.

Another day. Another problem for Cognito Inc.

And that concludes the conjuring arc. What? Oh you're probably wondering what happened with Eda. Don't worry she won the gladiator match. The aftermath will be in the next chapter which is an Interlude

Luz's new ability was something I've wanted to introduce but I knew I can't just have her have it for no reason so I waited until this arc. It's not temporary.

This chapter ended up being more slice of life and peaceful cause in my defense not every event will have intense moments or end badly...for now

Besides...Luz should get to enjoy her peace while she still can
