Hello to the people that bother to read this, I apologise for not being someone who regularly updates I will endeavour to change that however I promise nothing. On the other hand I do love this and I want to hear what your opinions are so if you feel like it's worth it leave a review. Love Lily...
Damon
"I met Damon roughly 140 years ago, he had only been a vampire for about 5 months. I came across him drinking from a man that I'd had my eye on." She glared without any heat at said vampire who looked at her innocently.
"He was so lost I couldn't help my instincts, the same sort of feeling I had when it came to protecting Kol" Runa spoke as if lost in memory, she missed the murderous glare Kol was shooting Damon. "I had to help him, and it's a good thing I did because he had a vampire a few hundred years old after him" she sighed as if frustrated by his troublemaking ways. Stefan rolled his eyes "really brother, after you left you immediately get into it with another vampire?! I thought you had self-preservation?" he asked incredulously.
"Are you stupid mate?" Klaus responded looking at him like he was the most idiotic person he'd ever met, "are we talking about the same bloke who mothed off to Elijah, challenged me, snapped Kol's neck and screwed over Bekah?" he continued listing the monumentally dumb things he'd done. Runa's head snapped to him "Little Saviour?" she questions "I thought I had taught you better than that Day" she shook her head at him disappointed at her protégé. Damon thoroughly annoyed at them all ganging up on him rolled his eyes at Stefan and Klaus before turning guiltily to his saviour in every sense of the word. "You did Nana it was multiple errs in judgement, you know how reckless I can be" he was clearly expecting to be reprimanded.
Runa just stared at him blankly assessing him, he sat nervous trying not to fidget until she finally spoke "clearly you need a refresher in what I taught you decades ago" it was said seriously but her eyes laughed at him and the look of horror that painted his face. Kol smirked at Damon's predicament he wanted to get this over with so he could catch up with his sister "so Lia you were saying he had another vampire on his back" he spoke encouraging her to continue.
"Correct Kol, apparently he made an unsavoury remark to said vampire. Actually darling you might remember him, Jackson Reiker? Blonde? Green eyes? Had a massive thing for Grace?" she tried to trigger his memory of the man. A look of realization spread over his face "Oh that tosser?!" the disdain in his voice was impossible to miss. "Yeah love, he had the audacity to challenge me for Damon's life! Can you believe that arrogant little prick." She continued annoyed at the memory, no one had challenged her in a long time because everyone knows not to mess with her, she was Klaus' wife for one and her reputation alone was hardly something to dismiss. "Tell me he's dead!" Kol demanded thinking of ways to torture him for even thinking of going against her.
"Of course darling...like I would ever let him live after that" She huffed. Klaus sat fascinated by her tale, slightly upset that he clearly missed parts of her life. "Anyway back on subject I saved him from Jackie boy and taught him how to be a vampire, a fun one anyway" she and Damon traded not so secret smirks eyes full of mischief. Stefan didn't know what to think about this he realised that he did not know Damon as well as he thought. There definite sadness in the fact that he had someone to help him like Lexi had and he had never met her, well not in the official capacity she held as Damon's 'Nana'. Klaus interrupted his train of thought "where was I sweetheart?" Klaus asked not happy with knowing she had been with Damon, he had never even heard her mention him.
"I went away for 2 years remember after you killed my dog?" the words were like knives full of sharpness,
"Wait you killed her dog?" Stefan couldn't help but intervene eyes wide "who does things like that?" he asked aloud however he was speaking more to himself and was not expecting a response. "Exactly Stefan!" Runa smiled at him slightly before glaring at Klaus "who does that?" she questioned her husband tauntingly once again continuing with her and Damon's story.
"So I showed him what we were capable of, I helped him accept who he was and tried to teach him how to live without Katerina." She spat the name of Damon's first love out like the very word was poison on her tongue. "I stayed with him for those two years teaching him everything I thought he'd need to know. In that time he started to call me Nana and he became my little saviour" she paused smiling softly at her baby vampire eyes lit up with love something nobody missed.
"Obviously I went back to Nik and for the first time in years Kol was there" I was ecstatic at that point I hadn't seen him in close to a decade" she pouted at Kol who smirked smugly once again grabbing her hand to distract himself from the others staring at their interactions. "I went back at least once a year to see Damon for up to a month. Then when he decided to travel and see the world it was more when we had the time to find each other. Without today's technology it was a bit more challenging but we managed, I of course always kept tabs on him. Made sure he was safe, until the Augustine Society." Runa's voice turned dark and her eyes flashed dangerously in remembrance of the things that dared to call themselves human.
She hurried on voice cold and flat "they took him. When I finally found him I ripped them apart for taking what was mine." Damon blushed at being called hers, while Klaus and Kol were inexplicably jealous. "When I got him and his friend out we split and went to France for a year before Enzo left to find his love. Day and I went separate ways for about 3 years before meeting in the 1960 we bounced around countries for a decade before I left again. I found him in New York in 73 when he had turned his humanity off." Turning to face him chidingly "we had a long talk about that" she continued glaring in annoyance at Damon who looks down guilty before speaking "do we need to rehash that Nana? I apologised and earnt your forgiveness a long time ago" Runa considered this for a moment before conceding to his point. The others glanced at them in confusion and clear curiosity but neither Damon nor Runa was willing to talk about it.
"Moving on…" Damon stated prodding Runa to carry on which she did "I stayed with him for another 2 years. We had so much fun, saw concerts, celebrities' wonders of the world. I showed Damon the world and he gave me what I always wanted. A child." She and Damon grinned at each-other thinking back to the amount of memories they had shared.
Damon turned to Klaus with his infuriating smirk "Does that make you my daddy?" he asked trying not to laugh at his angered face. Kol at this point was extremely jealous of their relationship glared at Damon with enough hate to have created the phrase 'if looks could kill' all the while pulling Runa to sit next to him.
Stefan
Runa's eyes pursued the expressions of the men in the room with her Damon was smirking again clearly trying and succeeding in riling up Niklaus who was glaring furiously at the vampire who had taken his wife's attention from him something he had never liked. Kol was for once being calm sat next to her quietly mumbling about being better than Damon, she paused to smile at him amused at his jealousy. Stefan was just sitting there blankly if not a little nervous knowing he was next. She clapped her hands signaling everyone's attention to come back to her so they could move on.
"Stefan was something else entirely. I met him in the early 30's, I didn't have a clue who he was to my little saviour, but his humanity was gone much like now with more cockiness. Obviously Lexi hadn't got to him yet but something about him rubbed me the wrong way immediately" she spoke trying to place it "maybe he reminded me of Niklaus" she pondered that thought before nodding deciding that was it. Klaus' head snapped up to look at her wide eyed and insulted, Stefan too was indignant at the comparison.
"I am nothing like this poufy haired wanker" Klaus spat out genuinely insulted that they were anything alike Stefan rolled his eyes "yeah like I want to be told I'm like the hybrid dick" he threw back at him before they glared at each other ready to pounce.
"Boy's calm down honestly you are being ridiculous this was 80 years ago move on" her annoyed tone cut through the tension building. "We were in the same club and he didn't realise I was like him. He thought I was just some average human. He tried to compel me and if that wasn't enough he had killed one of my witches." Her sadness was almost palpable it made the original brothers growl at Stefan for upsetting her. "Her name was Melanie, she was helping me with an uprising of Silas worshipers in Florida" Kol was the only one who looked worried at that "were they dealt with?" he asked with seriousness that was rarely found in the youngest original brother "yes, don't worry darling they're dead. I would never allow them to threaten your safety" she reassured him oblivious to the looks that were sent to them. Klaus had heard of Silas before but believed him to be a myth to scare the supernatural, he considered for the first time that he may be a real threat.
Kol relaxed at her confirmation relieved that he would not have to worry about Silas' many worshipers. Runa carried on "obviously it failed but I followed him set on showing him just why he shouldn't mess with me and mine. I had him pinned against the wall…" Klaus snarled viciously at Stefan vibrating with anger at being so close to her "calm down Niklaus it was not in any way romantic" she huffed at his childishness. Kol and Damon smirked at their brothers.
"Anyway..." she started "when he asked who I thought I was and how dare I attack him I lost it. The sheer stupidity of what he was spouting! He dared to blame me for attacking him! I took him to my newest place and verveined him." Damon turned to her shocked at the malicious tone he had never heard directed at him and very thankful for that because it was terrifying.
"I tortured him for about 4 days with very little blood and methods most vampires would cringe at." She smirked cruelly at Stefan who cringed remembering the time spent in her house. "Liaaaa" Kol whined pouting at her "you tortured someone without me?" he demanded petulantly, Runa couldn't help the sigh of exasperation at his whining. "Yes darling, it wasn't the first or last time I've done so" she said as I letting him in on a big secret which only made him turn away giving her the cold shoulder. "Really Kol?" she questioned aloud laughing "ignoring me? I suppose I can give your gifts to Bekah or Niklaus" her expression pondering the idea when Kol whipped his head up "nope. We're fine Lia I torture people without you too" he said quickly accepting her small betrayal.
Klaus rolled his eyes at the pair far too used to his beloved being able to control his little brother and at Kol's need to be spoiled by her "spoilt brat" he muttered under his breath, the comment was ignored by said brat. "Hurry up Lia I want to catch up" Kol spoke directly to her, Damon who looked like he was going to protest stayed quiet when he realised they had not seen each other in a century.
"Needless to say that when we ran into each other again 20 years later he showed me the respect that me being his elder demands and avoided me. Hence the reason he backed down and wouldn't challenge me." Klaus startled at that thinking about asking her advice on his hybrids.
"Now on saying that, Stefan...I'm willing to start again because your Damon's brother therefore you have my protection from being killed anyway, however if you would like to get along and become friends I would like to get to know you. If you don't feel like you can then that's fine too." She offered him the lifeline that would decide how their future interaction would go. Stefan was thoughtful for a minute considering his options: on one hand she had tortured him, on the other he had killed her witch-friend.
"Um…I…Yeah I'd like to get to know you" He finally got out his expression a little shy as if expecting her to rebuff him but she smiled at him "okay then, from now on we are starting again. First thing to know is that I always try to make my people feel better. You are now a part of that so, you don't have to worry about being a ripper Stef, you were hardly the first." He looked up at her hopefully "Finn was" she dropped yet another bombshell Stefan and Damon were stunned. "Yeah the things he did when he first turned were savage" she said slowly thinking of the right way to phrase her thoughts "why do you think he was so racked with guilt or why we decided to have him daggered?" she asked, Klaus and Kol nodded agreeing with her words.
"She's right mate, Finn was almost worse than me" Kol said a little perturbed by the fact. "Anyway darling move on you are the worst now" Runa continued shooting a smile at her darling who grinned mischievously at her acknowledgment of his skill. "What I'm trying to say Stef is we know exactly how to help you if you are willing to accept it" she offered however Runa quickly silenced him when he went to accept. "No, no think about for a few days first" she demanded.
"Okay boy's am I finished explaining myself?" she questioned mockingly before interrupting before any of them could respond "oh wait…I don't care. I've told you all I'm willing to for the moment. Now who is going to tell me what's been going on and what I walked in on earlier?" her eyes searched theirs looking for the person brave enough to start.
