Daniel, Cream and Tails: Musical Maestros

(Author's Notes: Hey everyone! How are you all doing? I hope that all of you are doing fine out there, and are taking 2023 by storm!
Before I say or do anything else, going to give praise and honor to the Lord. Thank you God for looking after me, my family, my friends and everyone else out there! This New Year, to me, holds the promise of good things to come. The world is still badly mixed-up & messed-up, but hopefully myself and others that are dedicated to you will help to get the people back to you like it was in the past. Please continue to look after me, my family, my friends and all others God that still are true and real with you.
This little notice goes out to my friend Author danielman21, to wish him an early Happy Birthday which is on February 3rd! So here is well wishes to you my friend, and also that this chapter be my gift to you!
I really hope to finish certain projects soon, as I really do want to continue on with my own projects like my Star Vs. story & my Danny Phantom x Dragonball crossover story. I plan to make both of them like my Disney/Toho Monsters and Magic series; long, detailed and also broken down into three or four books. A high ambition yes, but one worth aiming for all the way!
And also, I wish to once again ask any and all of you to take a good, long look at the stories made by my Author friends here on this site. They are pinkstoryteller, SaurusRock625 and Tyrone Tyson! They have made such excellent stories that should be made into comics or graphic novels… heck, they should be made into TV specials! I know it's my opinion, but it's one I believe is good.
I wish to do this for my Tia Pamela Espurova-Allen. She is working with police and other official groups to locate and bring home a missing girl that is part of a family she works with & has befriended. Her name is Lina Khil, a little girl that was taken on December 20th, 2021. The search is still on for her, but so far… no luck.
Her information is this: She is three years old, hair brown, eyes brown, race Afghan, weight 55 lbs. & height 4'0. If any can help to locate and find her, please do so and notify the proper authorities. Hoping and praying still that she is found alive & returned to her family. They have put up a special about her on TV thanks to the San Antonio Police Department. Any information you wish to seek about her you can search for online, and hopefully it will help to find her and bring her back home safely.
I do not own the plot, my new Author friend does. Neither of us own Sonic X, as it is a television animated series that was created in Japan. It was directed by Haijime Kamegaki, produced by Takeshi Sasamura & Tadahito Matsumoto. The original network is was broadcasted from is TV Tokyo in Japan, and in the United States by many other networks such as Disney Channel, Jetix, Fox, 4Kids TV and more. It ran from April 2003 to April 2005.
Also, will be utilizing a level or so from the video game Sonic Forces even though I have never played the game itself.
Now, on with the story!)
It was now 3:00 p.m., and on the marvel known as Angel Island, Vanilla Rabbit was currently finishing her gauze wrapping of the right arm of the formidable hero known as Silver the Hedgehog. Said anthro being was sitting on one of the steps in the Hidden Palace zone area, the place that Knuckles came to have a final confrontation of sort against Sonic and Tails many years ago. On the side of the wall were two murals that showed an ancient picture of a battle… a battle between Dr. Robotnik in his large battle suit called the Giant Eggman Robo, and a powered-up Super Sonic!
It seemed that Knuckle's ancestors had foretold the battle between the two beings, and that was set hundreds of years ago! The design was beautifully made, showing that the Echidna tribe also took lessons in the art of… well, artwork like so. It displayed the giant robot holding the Master Emerald, and the one opposing it was Sonic in his Super-form.
The area looked to be a battlefield of sort, mini-craters on the floor which is where Knuckled punches hit when Shadow evaded one of his powerful hits. Some of the pillars in the room had some holes in them, but luckily they were not deep or serious enough to cause a collapse of the place. Nevertheless, the pillars and the ground would have to be repaired by a professional.
It was fortunate for Knuckles that the island had a self-repair feature to it. Whenever something got damaged, an old but still quite active magical feature would activate. The Super Emeralds and Master Emeralds would be activated by hidden magic runes and start to repair the damage. It would range from mild to severe, depending on said damage. Mild would almost instantly be repaired, but it would take anywhere between one to three months to fully repair a severe damage.
Vanilla was close to done working on Silver, who looked very grateful to the motherly beauty. He spoke up once more, "Thank you again for taking the time to come here and fix me up, Ms. Rabbit.".
Said anthro woman looked to him with a motherly smile and replied, "You're very much welcome Silver. I'm glad that the arm is not that badly damaged, but you will need to take it easy for at least two weeks for it to properly set and heal.".
Silver nodded his head, seeing the smile on the mother of Cream easing his spirits. It seemed that Vanilla truly had that special effect of a caring mother, her smile and spirit just making those that were on the side of good feel at peace and at ease.
Knuckles, who was behind and a little a ways from the duo, spoke up, "It's a good think you have enhanced durability there Silver. Otherwise I think the damage would have been a little more severe.". It was true, as one of Silver's strengths were enhanced durability, reflexes, jumping capabilities and psychokinesis. Sad to say that self-regeneration & self-healing he did not possesses.
Vanilla looked back to Knuckles, giving him a disapproving glare which made the echidna sweat a bit and look away & whistling a bit off tune. The motherly rabbit spoke up in a stern tone, "And it would be good of you to exercise a bit more self-restraint Knuckles. I understand that you are exceedingly strong, but you must realize that not everyone is as durable as Silver and the others. And to not lose control like that.".
The warrior of his race bowed his head down and muttered in an apologetic tone, "Yes ma'am.".
Ms. Rabbit then stood up and spoke, "There you are. All done. Now remember to keep that set for two weeks. Don't move around too much, and take it easy.".
Silver rose up as well, looking at his bandaged arm, then to Vanilla and replied in a grateful tone, "Thank you again for your help Ms. Rabbit. If there is anything I can ever do for you in the future, don't hesitate to ask.".
Knuckles then realized something and inquired, "I think there is something you can help her out with. Do you think you can find and bring to her the parents of that human kid that arrived here?". Earlier on while watching Vanilla do her diagnostics on Silver, he had spoken of Daniel Clark and his arrival. Needless to say, Silver had been surprised that a young child had managed to traverse through time/space/universal barriers to arrive on Mobius. More so when his parents had arrived, but had been relocated to a spot that was different than the place Vanilla found the young lad.
Silver shook his head and answered, "With my arm bandaged like this, best not to use any kind of teleporting power. And besides, I would need to get a fix on their aura in order to teleport to them. I can't simply teleport to them if I don't have something to lock onto.".
The echidna realized that Silver had a point there. While he had impressive psychic and mental prowess, even they had limits like so. Knuckles spoke once more, "Then it's a good thing Team Chaotix is on the case since they seem to live for this kind of thing. It's just too bad that the Warp Zones are unstable to use right now.".
Knuckles had learned about the Warp Zones being unstable, and even though it was a problem for everyone on Mobius including himself, he knew that they needed to be fixed naturally on their own. Using any of the Chaos, Super or even the Master Emerald would most likely do more harm than good, so he had abstained from utilizing the potent gemstones.
Vanilla looked to Knuckles and stated, "Vector and the others will find them, that I have complete faith in. I just hope that they can find them quickly and also in good health.". The two males nodded their heads, as the Casino Forest was NOT a place for beginner adventurers and the like. It was a seriously dangerous place, and one could consider it a miracle for anyone not familiar with it to survive.
So with two newcomer humans in that place… they could only hope that they would be able to stay alive long enough for Team Chaotix to find them.
Ms. Rabbit then said in a polite tone, "Knuckles, I believe it's time for me to go home. I promised Danny I would be back soon, and even though Cream and the others are looking after him, I would hate to break a promise to little one.".
The echidna nodded his head, gesturing for Vanilla to follow him so they could get back topside. Silver joined them, but made sure to not jostle his injured arm too much. The psychic hedgehog was still amazed that a small human child managed to make the journey to Mobius, and was wondering on how the young one was taking it.
~At the Rabbit residence~
Said young man was having a good time right now as he was practicing once more with the others on their musical instruments. This time they had a new audience member, Cosmo who was enjoying the music that was being played. The plant alien had a lovely smile on her face as she heard the makeshift band practice. She had a faint aqua-green color about her, and it seemed to be filled with positive energy as the air around her felt tingly but in a good kind of way.
Even Froggy leapt off of Big, landing in the lap of Cosmo who was startled a little but not in a bad way. She smiled and petted the head of the clever amphibian, who croaked happily as he soaked in the positive aura from the alien girl.
The group practiced once more, sounding a bit better until Tails stopped them. He had a smile on as he stated with a hint of pride in his voice, "That is getting better everyone! If we keep this up until the time for Vanilla's birthday, we'll be all set to play well for her when the time comes!".
This got the group excited in a positive way, then it was Cosmo who stepped forward from her seat, giving Froggy back to Big in the process before going to them. All turned to her as she said in an upbeat tone, "So that is what each instrument sounds like. I have to say, you all are very good with your instrument of choice.". This had them all smiling, Danny blushing a little since he was a boy and compliments like that from a girl made him feel a bit warmer on the inside.
Tails nodded and replied, "Thanks Cosmo! So, did you decide what kind of instrument you would like to practice with us?". So far, Cosmos had not actually seen the instruments before when she was a plant sprout, only hearing them. And now that she was back to a more humanoid form, she wanted to hear them practice but now with the intent on seeing them to see which one would suit her.
Seeing and hearing made a world of difference.
Cosmo looked to Amy first and her harp, then Cheese & his keyboard piano, to Cream and her violin, & finally to Daniel and his acoustic guitar. She thought for a moment and answered back in an honest tone, "Well, all of them sound very good. But the one that has my interest is the guitar that Danny has. And yet… there is something that it requires. Something with a bit more… well, feeling in it.".
The words made the group look on puzzlement, and after a few moments Tails suggested, "Well… we do have different kinds of guitars. Not here for the moment, but there are different kinds. I wonder… do you think an electric guitar will work for you?".
The lovely plant alien had a cute puzzled looked on her face as she inquired, "An electric guitar? Is it more different than the one Danny has?".
Tails nodded his head and answered, "Yes there is. Acoustic guitars are bulky, having a heavy body and thick necks to support tension of heavier strings. Fortunately for Danny, his model is smaller than the usual ones and it seems that he can handle well.". This made the young human smile in gratitude of the praise, Amy giggling softly and patting his head, which in turn made him blush bright red all over.
The two-tailed mechanical genius continued on, "Electric guitars are thinner and lighter, and also enhance the projection of the sound. They also use electricity to generate the sounds, while the acoustic ones produce it through the vibrations on the strings.".
Cosmo honestly did not know the difference between guitars like so, she was suitably impressed by the subtle & obvious differences. And also impressed by Tails' knowledge, seeing that truly he was much more than just a brave soul & mechanical/engineering genius.
Amy spoke up, "I can go back to Music Bay and get an electric guitar for her… oh wait! Vanilla has my car, and it would be awhile to get from here to that place.".
Tails added in, "I could make one in my workshop, but it could take awhile. Hmmm… a bit of a dilemma we have here…". He had a thoughtful look on his face, wondering on how to make use of the situation. The others soon adopted the thoughtful looks on their faces, Danny/Cream/Cheese looking adorable even as they tried to think hard.
Cosmo was about to say something, but something came over her. She could not describe it exactly, but she felt something just rushing forth into her head. It was knowledge… knowledge that she did not have previously in her first form! It felt alien, and yet amazing to her as it seemed that coming back from being a sprout had seemed to unlock something. Something that perhaps was a special kind of feature that emerged within her species once in a generation or so.
The alien girl looked to Danny, who opened his eyes and was a bit puzzled on why Cosmo was looking at him like so. She approached him and asked in a gentle tone, "Excuse me, but can I borrow your guitar please?". A bit perplexed, but seeing no harm in it, the young human child handed over to her the instrument that Amy got for her.
When she held it in her hands, she closed her eyes and started to focus. The others looked at her, their thoughtful expression from before being replaced by perplexion quickly. Once the object was in her hands, Cosmo closed her eyes and focused. The aura that was around her sprang back forth into visibility, but instead of an aqua-green color, it was now a gently light-blue color. In her mind, she was going over what Tails had just told her and memorizing the guitar through a kind of vision that one would see in the 1986 animated film Transformers: the Movie when Megatron got reformatted/rebuilt to become Galvatron by the massive Transformer planet known as Unicron.
The others were very much surprised to see this, Amy looking to Tails and inquiring in an awed tone, "Whoa… Tails, did you know Cosmo could do this?".
The two-tailed anthro fox answered in the same tone as Amy, "No… I didn't. I think that this is something totally new, I think even to Cosmo.".
The impressive display lasted for about a minute and a half, and then the guitar floated back to Daniel who took it on automatic reflex. The alien beauty then emitted a pulse of light that truly enhanced her aura field… and in her hands something formed! Light particles gathered together quickly and took the form of something, becoming solid in a matter of moments & flashing into existence!
What she was now holding was similar to a Jackson JS Series RR Minion JS1X electric guitar! It had the body shape of it, but the color was different as the body was a light cream-color with the neck being a dark green color. If one were to judge properly, they would see that it was the color scheme of Cosmo's old form before she became a sprout!
Tails and the others were amazed at this, seeing their friend do something that they had never previously witnessed before from her. Tails pointed at the guitar and managed to mutter out in complete awe, "I… I… Cosmo, what just happened?!".
The cute plant alien looked down in awe as well at the device that was now in her possession. She looked to Tails and replied, "I… I don't know Tails! I… I think I discovered something that I never previously had! I wonder…".
Cream asked in an adorable curious tone, "Wonder what, Cosmos?".
Said being continued to look at her conjured guitar in reverence and awe, and answered in a tone that mirrored her feelings now, "I have learned that my people were capable of having wonderful abilities after they had sprouted into full form. But there was hardly a record of any of them going through a second sprout. It was more or less legend to my people… until now that is.".
Cosmo looked to them and explained as best she could, "It seems that I took what you told me Tails, learned what I could from holding Danny's guitar and… well… the knowledge just came to me on how to make an electric guitar, and I just… summoned it up from my very thoughts. I do feel tired though…".
The thoughts that were running through the others was quite rampant, Tails most of all as he absorbed everything that was just told. He said to himself, 'This is… this is unreal! Cosmo just crafted something out of thin air, out of her own mind, after just hearing my explanation & examining Danny's guitar! That is an incredible ability she has!'.
All saw Cosmo now doing down on both knees, panting as she looked winded. The two-tailed anthro fox went to her in concern, adding into his thoughts, 'But it seems that this ability comes at a cost of stamina and energy. I hope that we can do more for her so that she doesn't use this new ability.'.
While Tails was a scientist in the brain department, his heart was beating stronger here as he just got Cosmo back from beyond… and he did not want to risk losing her again.
Cream asked in a concerned tone, "Cosmo, are you alright? Are you hurt?". Cheese asked the same question but in his native tone.
Cosmo nodded her head and spoke in a shaky tone as she slowly rose back to her feet, "I'm… I'm okay. Just feeling tired. I guess this new ability of mine… takes up a lot of energy… and also… quite hungry and thirsty now.".
This had the group a bit confused as this was the first time they heard this from the plant alien. Amy inquired, "Hungry? Thirsty? I thought that since you are a plant, all you needed was water and sunlight. That and also Planet Egg energy.".
The extra-terrestrial being shook her head and answered, "No, though water and sunlight is what we need to survive as a substitute for Planet Egg energy. But in our humanoid form, we can eat other things to gain extra energy and such. Although, some distant… and I do mean distant, relations of ours like to eat meat instead of fruit like I do.".
Danny had a thoughtful expression on his face, then remembered something he had seen in one of the nature books back at him. It was a book that was made for children, easy for someone his age and knowledge could understand. He spoke up, "You mean like a Venus Flytrap plant?".
Everyone looked to the human child, who explained that he read up on the plant he saw in a book, and how the Venus Flytrap captured flies and other bugs to eat. He also stated a couple of plants that were in the book & related to the Venus Flytrap, which was the Cobra Lily & Australian Sundew. It seemed that Danny was quite knowledgeable when it came to certain subjects.
And some like Amy and Cream were a little sick that there was some plants that ate bugs, as usually it was the other way around.
Big got up from his seat and suggested, "Why don't we find snack in kitchen? And also to rest from practice?".
Tails saw that the big anthro cat really had the right idea. He looked to everyone and announced, "Big has the right idea! Come on, let's go inside and get us some snacks. And also to take a bit of a breather from practice.". The group readily agreed to that, as they were a bit famished and a small break from the practice did sound appealing to them.
The living room was now abuzz with activity as Amy and Danny brought in some trays that had slices of fruit on them. The one the human child had contained orange slices & also some napkins near them, the one Amy had some apple & pear slices. Danny was wearing a large grin on his face as he had aided Amy like so, which to him meant a big deal. Cream, Cosmo and Tails were sitting on the sofa while Big sat on the rug in front of them. Froggy was perched as always on Big's head, and Cheese was in Cosmo's lap.
Amy showed the food to the others and declared in a joyful tone, "Okay everyone, time to dig in!". Danny told the others to get the napkins on his tray so they could hold the slices without getting their hands sticky. Each one got their preferred number of napkins before taking some slices, munching on the fruit… though in Big's case, he took a mouthful of two orange slices and a pear slice due to his large mouth.
Cosmo munched on a pear slice, a look of bliss coming over her features as she stated with delight, "Mmmmm! This is certainly tasty! What is this called again?". Amy answered that it was a pear fruit, which to Cosmo was a truly exotic delicacy. She quickly munched on the remaining pear slice, swallowing it all swiftly. The others were a bit surprised to see Cosmo just eat like that.
Once everyone was comfortably situated, discussions arose when Cream asked the question, "Do you think Mom would let Cosmo stay here with us once she sees here?".
It seemed that particular question was a critical one as they seemed to forget about that one little detail. Cosmo had no home to go since it was destroyed, there was nowhere else to go. After some thinking, Tails answered the question in a confident tone, "I think Mom would not mind at all of Cosmo being another guest in this house.".
The cute plant alien girl looked to Tails in mild surprise and inquired, "Mother? Tails, what is it that you're talking about?".
Amy spoke up, "Oh! I guess that you need to be caught up with current events. Tails, why don't you tell Cosmo what has happened since… well, you know.". The pink hedgehog beauty had learned that talking about when Cosmo sacrificed herself some time ago was always a sensitive topic to the two-tailed fox.
Said being let out a sigh, as he repressed the depression that usually came up when talk about what happened in the past concerning Cosmo came up. She was here now, alive and back in his life. And that is what mattered. He looked to his best friend, and hopefully official girlfriend in the future, and replied, "Of course! Okay Cosmo, this has happened so far…".
He started to tell the tale on what happened some months ago, where he had gotten into a rather interesting situation that involved Robotnik, Vanilla and Cream. Cosmo was wondering on who Robotnik was, until it was Tails that told her that it was Eggman's real name. The plant alien was a bit surprised by that, and admitted that his real name sounded more interesting than Eggman. This got a chuckle from the group for some moments, then Tails continued his tale.
Cosmo was not the only one spellbound by the tale, as Danny and Amy was just hearing this little bit of adventure they did not know. The pink hedgehog and young human were truly locked onto the story, Amy on automatic reflex pulling Danny into her lap as they both listened. Danny was mesmerized by the tale, until he realized that he was being held by Amy.
This caused the young lad to blush badly, but did not squirm or struggle to escape. Instead, he just enjoyed the time with Amy with the blush on full force while listening to the story.
Needless to say, the group minus Cream and Cheese were very much impressed on what Tails had just told them. Cosmo looked to the two-tailed fox with an expression that was a mixture of awe and wonder. She spoke in a tone that matched her current emotion, "Whoa… Tails, that… that is… that was all incredible! I have to say that you have really come far last time we were together!".
Tails blushed in a positive kind of embarrassment, his cheeks sporting faint red spots while he laughed softly and held his left hand behind his head. He had received compliments before from others, but words coming from Cosmo were different… having something special that made him feel all tingly and warm inside.
Daniel put up, "Yeah! You are cool like Sonic! Maybe even more so after you went after Robotnik like that!". Tails this time smiled at him and gave him a thumbs-up, saying that he really appreciated the words.
Big then asked the question, "Say, if Cosmo can play, is electric guitar a good thing for music you all are practicing?".
This made the others now consider the question seriously. Tails thought, 'Big has a point. First off, we need to see if the instrument she created really works. And second, the ones I chose are classical music… I don't think an electric guitar would be suitable. There has to be another solution…'.
As the big brain of Tails was working hard to find a suitable solution, Danny said his thoughts out loud, "Too bad my Dad and Mom aren't here. They have lots of music on their phones that the play that have guitars like that playing.".
Cream looked to her friend and inquired in her usual cute tone, "Oh, what songs do they have that you've heard?".
The young human looked to the adorable anthro bunny girl with a small smile and answered, "Oh, they have a lot but my favorite is this song called… umm… what was…? Oh! It was Living on a Prayer, but I don't know the one who sings it.".
It was his words that stirred a memory within Tails! He remembered listening to that song back on Earth, and it was a catchy song. In fact, he started to hear it many times due to his uniquely strong it was. Once the memory came up within his mind, it started to get stronger and also aided the young fox in finding a suitable solution!
He opened his eyes, looked to Danny in delight and exclaimed, "That's it! Danny, you've given me the answer!". The others were surprised by the sudden outburst, the young man jumping a little more into Amy on instinct.
Amy automatically hugged her arms around the small lad and replied in a surprised tone, "Wha-!? Tails, what do you mean? And why the big shout out like that?".
The young fox saw that his outburst startled the group, more so to Danny, Cream and Cheese. He smiled in an apologetic way and answered in a tone mirroring his emotions, "Oh, sorry about that. But what Danny said jogged my memory, and I believe it's helped me to find a solution to this problem!".
This had the group adopt curious expressions on their faces, which on Danny, Cosmo and Cream looked adorable. Tails looked to his lady crush and stated, "I believe I can help you with a certain song that requires an electric guitar. And if everything goes smoothly, you can play it for Mom when the time comes!".
This surprised the group, but for those who really knew Tails, the surprise was mild. The fox was very quick in the thinking department, especially in matters such as these. Tails looked to Amy and asked, "Say Amy, do you think you can help me to convince the villagers here to help us with the birthday surprise? I mean, we will need something to distract Vanilla for the next two weeks, and I believe that she may think something is up if it's only us that try to distract her.".
Amy smiled and replied in a confident tone, "Of course Tails! You can count on me to help you out!".
Tails smiled right back and nodded his head, glad that certain concepts were brought into the light inside of his head. It would take some much needed work and cooperation on the villagers' part, but hopefully with a dash of good luck, things would fall into place in time for Vanilla's birthday.
~In another part of Mobius~
It was now 3:15 p.m., and the location for this particular part of Mobius was a placed called Sky City, an unusual metropolis that floated in the sky. It floated on the same level as Angel Island, but it was powered by powerful anti-gravitational devices instead of mystical gemstones. The place was a hotspot for parties, but what really put it on the map was that it was home to some of the most brilliant minds of all time. Close to Robotnik's intelligence, but the scientists/inventors in the place often kept to themselves in a secretive manner.
There used to be a brilliant human that was on par with the human doctor that went by the name of Professor Von Schlemmer; a truly gifted inventor of many wacky things, but his mind was very much scattered. He got easily distracted, and sometimes his mannerisms made people wonder if he was all there. He had disappeared some years ago, and had not been seen since.
It was there that Vector the Crocodile, Espio the Chameleon & Charmy the Bee had set up shop for their detective agency. Sky City was the ideal location of their trade for two reasons. One, the place was situated high in the sky, which gave them the automatic high ground & make it difficult for any enemy to get the drop on them.
The second reason was that the floating city was home to many inhabitants, so thus business was actually thriving instead of being slow. Many Mobians had come to them for cases that ranged from mild, such as helping retrieve objects from high places like trees and houses, to moderate that required the aid of Sonic and Tails. Those cases were mostly the kidnapping of the inventors and scientists that lived in Sky City by Robotnik, as it seemed the mad genius needed the men and women for labor. He would try to enslave them & they would make inventions for him that would try to put an end to Sonic.
Fortunately, Team Chaotix and their allies would rescue the kidnapped beings and send Robotnik packing! And those kind of jobs kept the agency not only afloat, but also allowed the team some serious spending money to buy various things that would enhance their agency.
Right now, a large green jet with purple & yellow stripes was on a runway & being tended to by some workers. Vector was nearby as he supervised the workers, Espio standing still on his left & Charmy buzzing around above their heads in anticipation. The young bee then exclaimed, "Aww, come on! How much longer do we have to wait until the jet is all full?!".
Vector answered in a semi-patient voice, "Relax Charmy, it'll be ready soon. In fact, I believe it will be full in just a minute.".
Espio added in with the ninja-master calmness in his tone, "Indeed. We should be grateful that all it needs is fuel, as everything else is in working order according to them.". When it came to their jobs, the citizens took great pride in them and gave more than one-hundred percent in customer service and such.
Charmy soon lowered himself Vector's level and grumbled, "We would already be in the Casino Forest if those stupid Warp Zones still worked!".
The large and powerful anthro crocodile replied back, "Charmy, look! The Warp Zones are still working! Just… not right at the moment. Besides, we WANT to get to our destination in one piece!".
Vector and Espio knew about the situation concerning the Warp Zones, especially on what happens now when others had tried to use them despite the malfunctions it had. They heard on how one Mobian tried it… and various of him were scattered through the warp tunnel! They had to save his life by refitting him as a cyborg!
So while this did inconvenience a majority of the citizens that they could no longer travel long distances in little time, the transportation business were glad because now their services would be used more & that is what mattered. So while an inconvenience, it was not that bad to cause rioting and such. Just some grumbles here and there.
One of the mechanics pulled the hose out of the filler and called out, "Okay Mr. Crocodile! The jet is all fueled up and ready for take-off! We double-checked everything else, and it's all good!". The other mechanics started to put away their tools and also rolling up the hose that was used to fill up the jet.
Vector gave the mechanic a thumbs-up sign and stated, "Excellent job! We really appreciate you doing this!". He turned to his fellow Chaotix members, telling them to hop in the aircraft. As he passed by the anthro male chipmunk mechanic, he gave them a twenty Mobian bill as a tip for their services. This was very pleasing to the mechanic as he saluted him & gave a verbal thank you for the tip.
The jet was a three-seater; Vector's seat was in the front of the jet, Espio's behind him on the right, Charmy's on the left. The trio got in, buckled up and looked at the runway ahead of them. Vector and Espio did the pre-flight checks, making sure that everything was on & in correct alignment. Once everything was checked off… Vector was given the green light to go!
The large aircraft's engines turned on, the back-end spouting flames before shrinking a bit but not losing their intensity. After some moments, the anthro crocodile called out, "Chaotix Jet… GO!". He push the throttle down, and the large aircraft streaked off the runaway at amazing velocity!
It zoomed on the long runaway, quickly reaching the end of it which would be a large group down to the ground! Fortunately, the jet started to leave the ground and was soon up in the air all the way! The wheels retracted into the craft as it zoomed away from Sky City!
As the jet continued to onward, Vector plotted the course to the Mystic Jungle area. He said to his two partners in the back, "Well, so far so good. If we continue at this pace, we should reach the area & the Casino Forest zone of it in about seven hours or so.".
Charmy buzzed in aggravation, "Awww! Seven hours like this?! I'll never make it!".
Espio closed his eyes in a meditative stance and stated calmly, "I believe I have a solution that will aid us all.".
When Charmy looked to him and asked on what it was… Espio's eyes snapped and he reached out and pinch the back of Charmy's neck with such speed that only a ninja of his caliber could have! The little bee's eyes widened for a moment, then drooped down as his body went slack and he fell asleep. Espio merely smirked a little before returning to his meditative positon.
Vector had seen the whole thing in his rear-view mirror that was in the jet and said, "I've got to hand it to you Espio, that was a good trick you did. I'm glad that you were able to put Charmy to sleep like that.".
The anthro chameleon replied back in his cool tone, "It was not that difficult once I managed to find that small cluster of nerves on the back of his neck. It was just using the right kind of pressure to put him to sleep, though it will only be for about five hours or so.". Some time ago, Espio had read about bee anatomy in his spare time, and discovered an article stating that a bee could be put to sleep by use of pressure points on the back of the neck… IF one would be brave enough to even do that to a bee.
The leader of the team spoke up, "Well, we got our camping gear in the trunk and also map of the area and the zone. Hopefully with any luck, we'll be able to find this human's kids parents. Well… assuming they aren't eaten by anything down there.".
Espio nodded and replied, "Indeed. It is a shame that we cannot use our booster rockets to get there quicker, but it is best to save them once we have our quarry in tow.". Vector saw the wisdom in that decision he made earlier while the jet was being fueled up; if they used the booster rockets too soon, they would use up a great deal of fuel and there was not much jet fuel depots anywhere near the forests and jungles. And considering how dense the jungle was, even landing there would be a hassle thus they could not waste precious fuel.
Vector checked his instruments once more before turning his eyes back to the sky. He stated in a hopeful tone, "Just hope that we can get and find Danny's parents. Let's go!". The jet rocketed across the sky, going as fast as it could go without using the booster feature.
~Back at the Rabbit residence~
Tails and the others were back outside in the front yard, all looking at Cosmo as the two-tailed fox assisted her in how to properly handle her new instrument. Tails had told her that it was important to get a feel of the object & also how to properly hold it. Once she managed to get comfortable and situated with her newly crafted object, she started to feel something.
She glowed a soft green color that had everyone gasp in awe at the display. The cute alien girl started to feel power coursing through her, but she started to feel it being transferred into her instrument. Tails inquired in a concerned tone, "Cosmo, what's going on?".
Cosmo replied in a tone that was of awe, "I'm… I'm not sure. I feel that my energy is surging, yet also now coursing through the guitar I made.".
Amy was the one that spoke up this time, "In a way, it does make sense. There's no plugs or anything on that unique guitar you made, so it must need your energy in order for it to play.".
Tails realized that what Amy said was true. When they examined the guitar a bit more thoroughly, they discovered that it had no kinds of plugs or outlets. Not even a battery case. He quickly concluded that the newly made object had to be powered by Cosmo's own bio-energy, and so far it did not seem to tax her energy. The scientist in him wanted to study it more, but the friend in him wanted to save it for another time and place. After what happened earlier, didn't want to take the chance of hurting Cosmo in any way.
The two-tailed fox stated, "You could be right Amy. Let's see… Cosmo, try plucking one of the strings. Let's see what happens.". The plant alien did as she was told, plucking the string and all hearing a sound come out from it. This confirmed that truly Cosmo's own energy was powering the device up.
Tails said in a pleased tone, "That sounds good! Okay, now plucking the strings but holding down the string on the neck.".
It took some time and practice, but soon Cosmos was able to understand all of the basic music concepts concerning an electric guitar. She tried out a few more notes, getting the hang & feel of her instrument like so. Danny smiled at her and stated in an excited tone, "Wow! You're really good Cosmo, and only after a few tips from Tails!".
Cosmo smiled back at the young human and replied, "Awww, thank you Danny! I have to admit, this is new to me but I like it very much!".
Tails spoke up, "That's good to hear! Cosmo, you and the others practice as much as you can. Me and Amy are going to talk to the villagers to see if they can help us out with Mom. Come on Amy!". The duo soon left the group, going to town to talk to as much of the villagers as they could to see if they could help in keeping Vanilla distracted for the next two weeks.
When they left, Cosmo continued to play on her instrument. She adjusted the tuning pegs, wanting to find other combinations of sounds to the strings. Cream went to Cosmo and spoke in her adorable tone, "It's so nice to have you back with us Cosmo. Big brother was so sad when you… well, you know. But now I haven't seen him this happy when Mom officially adopted him!".
Cosmo smiled at the small anthro bunny girl and replied, "I see. Heh, I am glad to be back like this. I am sorry that I made Tails sad like that but… well, the needs of the entire universe outweighed my own. So I just did what was right, even though it did come at a cost.".
Danny said in his energetic voice, "But that makes you a heroine now! A really cool one!". The alien girl smiled at the small human, a bit flattered by the compliment but she did see that he was right. She had chosen of her own free will to do what was needed to save the universe, and that made her a heroine of honorable status.
As she thought on all the adventures she had with Tails and the others in the past, she closed her eyes and let the memories flow through. Subconsciously, her hands moved on the guitar and moved with her emotions.
She started to play the instrument, the sounds coming from the device was hauntingly beautiful. In fact, Cosmo was very much unaware that she was actually playing a little bit of the song Hotel California by the Eagles! It sounded a little different since it was played on an electric guitar instead of an acoustic one, but it was still good enough!
It was uncanny that she was playing the music since she never heard of it before, but she was simply following her emotions. The others were entranced by the soft, slow song.
After the song was played, indicating that Cosmo was done viewing the past in her eyes, she slowly opened them and was a bit confused on why the others were staring at her. She asked in a slightly confused tone, "Why are you all looking at me like that?".
Cream spoke up in a soft, awed tone, "That music you were playing… it was just so… haunting and beautiful at the same time. It was… just wonderful!".
Danny added in, "Yeah! It sounded like something I heard back home, but I can't quite remember it. But it was just so good!".
Cosmo looked to the group, then to the guitar in her arms and spoke softly in a confused tone, "I was playing? I… I didn't realize…". She was getting a bit nervous on the new abilities that were now emerging after her change to her humanoid form. They were developing quickly, and she was a bit worried on what else she might have.
Big went to her and put a gentle arm around her, the alien girl a bit startled by the unexpected action. The large cat spoke up, "Don't be worried Cosmo. Everything will be okay. Don't be afraid.". It seemed that the fishing expert also had an ability to sense emotions from people, an advanced form of empathy that some could achieve if they worked on it. He sensed Cosmo's hesitancy and worry, and was now trying to reassure her. Froggy, who was back on Big's head, croaked in agreement with his furry friend.
Cream, Cheese and Danny went to the trio, the anthro bunny girl speaking, "Big's right Cosmo! Everything will be okay, so don't worry. These new things you are doing now are good, so there is no reason to worry.". Cheese agreed with her in his own native language.
Danny added in, "Yeah! Your new powers and such are so cool, and Tails likes them! So no being worried!". He stated that with a big smile, his positive energy infectious as it made Cosmo smile at the human lad.
The plant alien girl started to feel the gentle yet also strong positive feelings from the group, soothing her and casting her doubts away from her. She looked up to Big and Froggy first, then to Cream, Cheese and Daniel and said with a heartfelt, genuine tone, "Thank you everyone. This means a lot to me, and… and I promise to not let my new abilities be seen in a negative light.".
This got the group to smile wider and cheer for her. Cosmo was feeling much better, and also more confident with her new abilities. There was much to still be looked into, but for the time being… these new abilities would be put to good use for Vanilla, and in the future for others! That much she was now certain of!

Well I believe we are at the halfway point here. Cosmos has finished tending to Silver, and is now on her way back home. Cosmo apparently acquires new abilities that she did not have previously, and also Team Chaotix is on their way to the Mystic Jungle area to try and locate Danny's parents! Things are going to get more interesting as the story nears its climax! I just hope that it's up to my friend danielman21's expectations.
Also, Sky City is from the old cartoon show I used to watch a lot called The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog. I used to watch it a lot as a kid, and to me is more excellent the modern-day Sonic cartoons.
Once this story is complete, going to focus on my other projects. Once those are complete, going to focus entirely on my own works. So please wish me luck everyone as I try to finish up as best I can.
