Jason and Korra were going through battle meditation outside of the theater. Korra had come to love battle meditation because it was like she was fighting. They had begun moving in sync and brought their meditation to an end.
"Wow." Korra said. "Who knew that all I needed to meditate was to act like I was fighting?"
"You're a fighter." Jason Said. "It's expected."
"Huh. So, is that how you are so good in bed then?"
"Yes actually. Being able to read an opponent and read a romantic partner are pretty similar. You read an opponent to find a way to beat them, and you read a romantic partner to find the best way to make them feel good."
"I didn't think of it that way."
"Change your perspective once in a while." Jason said walking away. "Now... catch me if you can." He said vaulting over the fence.
"Hey! No fair!" Korra yelled following him.
Jason used his parkour and free running skills to jump onto a roof. He turned around and looked at Korra before waving.
Korra looked at him in shock. How was she supposed to get up there? She hit herself in the forehead. Duh. She was the Avatar. She began air bending and used it to propel herself to the roof.
Jason saw this and jumped at her. He kicked down at her using the water in the air to push her down before jumping to the next roof. "What's wrong?" He asked.
Korra grit her teeth and jumped at Jason who threw a Lightning bolt at her.
She used Air Bending to get out of the way and glared at him. "Are you crazy!" She yelled.
"Do you honestly think an actual threat will hold back?" He asked. "Cause they won't."
Korra knew that Jason was right, but it was so infuriating how he could change roles from lover to teacher to opponent so easily. Sometimes she didn't even know which role he had taken until he acted first. She used Air Bending to catch up with him before she grabbed him and threw him with a wind powered throw.
"Nice." He praised. "Now. My turn."
"Oh no." Korra said changing directions, but Jason used Water Bending to create water steps that he used to get over her and dropped on her.
Korra rolled out of the way, but Jason grabbed her hand, spun, and threw her towards the ground.
Korra pulled on the wind to slow her fall, but still hit the ground harder than was comfortable. "Ouch!" She yelled.
Jason landed beside her and stepped on her Solar Plexus and touched his thumb to her forehead. "I just took your Bending." He said in a cold voice.
"That's not fair!" Korra complained. "You have more training than I do."
"Do you honestly think that Amon will give a fuck?" Jason asked. "No. He'll just take your Bending and go and have tea and crumpets with the other ass holes and brag about how he was able to beat a little girl."
"I'm almost 20." Korra said.
"Amon doesn't give a fuck! You need to get good! You need to fight like your life depends on it! Cause it does!"
"Okay, okay. I get it."
"Do you? Do you really get it?"
"Yes!"
"Then come at me with everything you've got." Jason said, backing away.
Korra got up and stretched before she ran at Jason with a feral determination. She jumped and kicked, sending a fire kick at him.
Jason grabbed her leg and spun her away from him making sure not to hurt her.
Korra flipped in the air and stopped herself with an Air Bending cyclone before she launched herself back at Jason.
Jason went to meet her punch, but Korra threw water at him, encasing him in ice. He flexed, but Korra had the time she needed, and she pulled an earth fist up into his back.
Jason flipped and brought a water fist down onto her slamming her into the ground before he slammed her into the air with an earth fist. He grabbed her and threw her to the ground only for her roll out of the way of a second earth fist. She caught herself in a second tornado and threw herself at Jason.
Jason clotheslined her and grabbed her. "You're thinking too much. Let your instincts guide your actions."
In response Korra head butted him with the back of her head and grabbed him before flipping him over her back.
Jason grabbed her top and pulled her to the floor with him.
Once on the ground Korra straddled Jason and began punching him, breaking his nose.
Jason grabbed Korra with his feet and flipped her off of him before he grabbed her leg and threw her towards a tree. When he saw that she wasn't going to be able to react in time he created a wall of water between her and the tree before running towards her.
Both of them looked roughed up and like they needed a hospital. He pulled the water from the air and coated Korra in it while the water also took care of his injuries.
"Ow." Korra said.
"Yeah. I know. That's been the best fight we've had so far."
"I didn't hold back this time."
"What made you decide not to hold back?"
"I don't know, but something about you telling me that Amon wouldn't care if he killed me or took my Bending just made me want to kick his smug face in."
"Good. Keep that feeling. Now, let's go home and shower."
Korra shuddered in delight at the thought of showering with Jason. The thought of their slick bodies brushing against each other made her wet just thinking about it.
Something hit her and she looked up to see Jason standing over her.
"Get out of here." Jason said as he fell to one knee.
She looked behind him and saw an army of Chi Blockers. Jason had been Chi Blocked because she was too busy daydreaming. She clenched her hands into fists and dropped into a fighting stance.
A Chi Blocker came up to her and she punched them in the Solar Plexus before she flipped and kicked them in the crotch and used handsprings to get some space before she ran back and grabbed a Chi Blocker and suplexed them into the ground.
The rest of the Chi Blockers moved in and Chi Blocked her, taking away her Bending. They grabbed her and forced her to her knees and Amon walked up to her.
"You have been a thorn in my side for too long Avatar. That ends now."
"Fuck you!" She spat.
"I'll enjoy watching that fire leave your eyes..." Amon was cut off as a portal appeared beside Korra and a fist came sailing through.
"Ya know!" Montgomery said, walking through the Portal, cracking his knuckles. "I'm getting really fucking tired of you ass holes thinking that you break strong willed individuals by raping them. Get new material."
"Another fool here to die."
"Did I say that I was here to die?" Montgomery asked. "I don't think I did. Now. Let's dance dick wad." He punched out at Amon who jumped back and tried kicking Montgomery's feet out from under him, but Montgomery just stepped back and threw green and white orbs at Jason and Korra who got up.
"Here!" He said tossing a belt to Jason who put it on and pulled his signature 1911 pistols from their holsters and flipped the safeties off before he aimed at Amon and pulled the triggers.
Amon pulled an Equalist in front of him, taking the hit for him before he ran around the Equalists and jumped at Jason, spinning and kicking at him.
Jason caught his leg and went to throw him, but Amon kicked him and flipped into a three point landing.
Jason rolled to his feet and slid to a stop. "So?" He asked. "How's the hand?"
Amon held up the hand Jason had cut off to reveal a prosthetic hand that sparked with electricity.
"Of fucking course. Just remember not to jerk off with that hand. It could have… shocking results."
Amon growled and ran at Jason. He threw punches and kicks at Jason until he stopped.
Jason heard something but couldn't hear what it was but became worried when Amon stopped.
"Fall back!" Amon yelled.
Jason, Korra, and Montgomery looked at each other.
"No!" Jason yelled. "Montgomery! Get us back to the Theater!"
Montgomery opened a portal, and the group ran through only to find the Theater trashed and the base cut open.
"AZIN! BAANI!" Jason yelled.
"HALO!" Montgomery yelled.
"SELENE!" They yelled in unison.
They ran inside and heard crying. They looked around and found Selene on the floor, bawling.
Jason picked her up and held her.
"Is she okay?" Korra asked.
Jason looked up at her with murder in his eyes. "Amon is dead." He said coldly.
Amon walked into the Basement he was using as a holding area. He looked around and saw the woman and two children. "Where is the baby?!" He asked.
"We didn't find her." An Equalist explained. "We ran in, grabbed these three, and got out. We didn't know if anyone would come so..."
Amon backhanded the Equalist with his metal prosthetic hand. "Don't you realize that by leaving her behind you've doomed us all!"
"What's wrong Amon?" Halo asked. "Scared?"
"You hid her on purpose, didn't you!" Amon demanded.
"If you mean that I purposely put her down for a nap, then yes. Yes, I did."
Amon grabbed Halo by the throat and pulled her into the bars. "I grow tired of your arrogance! Because of Jason Todd my entire plan has gone up in smoke! I'd like to see what would happen to your arrogance if I gave you to my Equalists?"
"You're all Talk!" Halo Spat. "You don't have the balls to do it!"
"You're right." Amon said. "It's time to act rather than talk."
Halo glared at Amon with defiant eyes.
Amon opened the door to her cell and pulled her out.
"Halo!" Azin and Baani yelled in unison.
"Stay back!" Halo yelled.
"No." Amon said. "I think to send a message they should be brought along too."
"You MONSTER!" Halo yelled clawing at Amon's masked face and knocked the mask off before scratching his face and rubbing makeup off while clawing gouges into his face.
He grabbed her hands, and she kneed him in the crotch forcing him to let her go. She grabbed his head and slammed his face into her knee, breaking his nose.
She would have done more, but the Equalists grabbed her with electric gloves and shocked her into unconsciousness.
"Leave her alone!" Baani shouted, stepping in front of Halo.
"Get out of the way kid!" An Equalist shouted, back handing Baani.
Azin grabbed the Equalist's arm and spun, dislocating the arm when he tried flipping the Equalist.
"AH! FUCK!" The Equalist shouted kicking Azin back into the room, knocking him unconscious as he hit a protrusion in the wall.
"AZIN!" Baani shouted.
"Get over here!" An Equalist grabbed Banni by her hair.
A female Equalist grabbed Banni and ripped her away from the other Equalist, pulling out tufts of her hair. "She's mine!" the female Equalist yelled.
"Okay, okay. Chill Stiletto." The Equalist said.
Baani began crying and Stiletto laughed. "We're going to have so much fun." She giggled.
"Make sure you leave a message." Amon said.
"Oh, don't worry." Stiletto smiled. "I will."
Stiletto took Baani to a room and laid her on the floor before locking the door. "I'm sorry kid, but I had to get you away from them."
Baani looked up at Stiletto in shock. "You're not going to hurt me?"
"No. I kind of work for your brother."
"You know Jason?"
"Yes. I've watched the Equalists deteriorate from what Amon wanted us to be."
"You guys always hated Benders."
"I want to tell you that you're wrong and that our methods are just misunderstood, but then I'd be lying."
"Are you going to get us back to Jason?"
"Yes. If I can."
Baani hugged Stiletto, bringing a tear to the woman's eye.
Jason cradled Selene and held her both protectively and gently. They were waiting for Montgomery to get back with the others.
"Where are they?" Korra asked.
"They aren't on Air Temple Island." Montgomery said, stepping out of a portal. "And unless one of them says my name or presses the emergency signal I can't find them."
"Did you tell them that?"
"Yes. I've told everyone that all they have to do is say my na..." Montgomery stopped talking and opened a portal. What they saw inside both horrified and enraged them.
Equalists were using shock gloves to shock Halo. Montgomery jumped in and Korra took Selene from Jason before nodding towards the portal.
Jason jumped through the portal with visible rage rolling off him. He grabbed an Equalist and broke his back over his knee before tossing him into another Equalist that he shocked with lightning until the Equalist was charred.
Montgomery grabbed Halo and was leaving when Halo grabbed him. "They have the kids." She moaned before she passed out.
"Jason! Azin and Baani are here!"
"Where!?" Jason demanded.
"I'm not sure! Halo just said that they were here!"
"Get Halo out of here! I'll get Azin and Baani!"
"I'm sending Korra through!"
"Just get Halo out of here!" Jason yelled and ran through the facility. He pulled out his twin daggers and cut through the Equalist's without hesitation. They had gone too far. There was no hope of redemption for any of them. Especially not Amon.
He found an unconscious Azin in one of the rooms and checked him for injuries. "Azin." He spoke. "Are you okay?"
"No." Azin said. "I can't feel anything."
Jason bit back a snarl. "Okay. Are you saying that you can't feel anything or that you feel a pins and needles sensation?"
Azin was quiet for a minute before he spoke up. "I can't feel anything below my neck."
Jason clenched his hands into fists. "Okay. I'm going to go find Baani. Try not to move."
"I'm scared." Azin's voice broke. "Why can't I feel anything?"
Jason grit his teeth when Azin's voice cracked. "I'm not sure." Jason lied. "We'll figure it out when you're safe."
"Okay." Azin said as a tear ran down his cheek.
Jason wiped it away and got up. "I'll be back with Baani."
"Okay."
Jason stood up and left the Room. He ran through the rest of the Facility killing any and every Equalist regardless of whether or not they surrendered. He kicked open doors until he found Baani with an Equalist. He grabbed the Equalist and threw them into the wall.
"Baani! Are you okay?"
"Yes." Baani said. "Stiletto kept me safe."
"Stiletto?"
"Yes. She's the one who kept me safe while the others were arguing about what to do with me."
"Did they do this?" Jason asked, pointing at Baani's hair.
"Yes."
Jason knelt down and hugged Baani. "I'm sorry." He spoke. "I'm so sorry."
"Why?"
"We'll talk about it when you're safe."
"Stiletto too?"
Jason glared at Stiletto. "Did she hurt you or Azin?"
Stiletto watched in horror as Jason glared at her.
"No. She saved me from them. They kicked Azin back into the room. Is he okay."
"We'll talk about it when we're safe. Let's go."
They ran through the facility back to Azin's room and found Korra running towards them.
"We need Montgomery." Jason said.
"I won't leave Halo right now." Montgomery said from a portal. "What do you need?"
"A spinal board."
Montgomery looked at Jason in horror. "Don't tell me that. Do not tell me that!"
"We'll talk about it when we get back."
Montgomery handed Jason a spinal board and watched as they loaded Azin onto the spinal board and walked him through the portal leaving a trail of bodies behind them.
Once back in the theater Jason placed Azin on the bed and walked to the bathroom. He looked at his blood covered self in the mirror and gripped the edges of the sink in sheer unadulterated rage. One of his siblings was injured and the other most likely paralyzed. He'd promised to protect them, and he'd failed them.
"You can't protect everyone." Montgomery said from behind him.
"Fuck that!" Jason snarled. "By saying you CAN'T do something means that you're limiting yourself to what you CAN do."
"So you'd rather make unrealistic promises that you won't be able to keep? There are like seven million people in this world. How do you expect to save all of them!"
"Then I'll save the people that are closest to me!"
"By watching them 24 hours a day!"
"If I have to!"
"You're going to kill any and every threat!"
"If It'll keep them safe!"
"You weren't this protective of Roy, J.D., Starfire, Bizzarro, or Artemis... actually... no. You were this protective of them, but now you have Big Brother energy."
"I'm not in the mood for your shitty jokes right now! Will Azin be able to walk again?"
"We need to find Lara."
"Where could she be?"
"She's not saying my name or using the signal. So, I'm not sure."
"Where do you think Amon is?"
"As much as I know you want to kill Amon, it's not your job to face him. It's the Avatar's."
"The prophecy says that I'll help the Avatar."
"Or hinder her."
"Well, I'm going to help her kill Amon."
"What if she's going to take him in?"
"Not going to happen."
"Because you'll kill him and her."
"No! Because she knows that he needs to die!"
"Are you sure that you aren't projecting a little bit?"
Jason spun on Montgomery. "Look me in the eye and tell me that Amon doesn't deserve to die for everything he's done!"
"Because of us." Montgomery said, pointing at himself and Jason.
"What?" Jason asked, his anger evaporating.
"Do you have any idea as to how completely overpowered you, Lara, and I are?"
"No."
"We come from worlds a lot darker than this one. Granted they had the whole Genocide thing two hundred years ago, but that's just Tuesday where I'm from. Someone is always trying to kill someone else. Then Lara. She's so fucking smart that she was a doctor by the time she was 21. Probably earlier if her parents had allowed it, and we can't forget that she is stronger and faster than normal people, and that she is able to react to threats faster than anyone I know; even you. Not to mention that you have the most tactical training out of all of us. Then you throw Bending in on top of that. I could call anything from any of the Multiverses in this reality to my aid. We are seriously overpowered."
"Then why even bring me here!"
"Look at what you've accomplished with Korra in the short time you've been here? She's the fucking Avatar thanks to you. You think that's something to sneeze at? It's not. You have done a lot of good, but you're overpowered as hell."
"Then let me use that to my advantage." Jason snarled.
"No. Because this is Korra's show. Let her drive while you take shotgun."
"How many people will die because of that!"
Montgomery looked down at the floor sadly. "More than I want to admit."
"And you want me to stand by and do nothing!"
"NO!" Montgomery yelled.
"Then let me do what I do best."
"You'd do it whether I said you could or not."
"You know me so well."
"Fine, but still, only help Korra. Listen to her, and all that is good in this world don't break her heart."
"I won't."
"Good. Now. I'm sorry, but you need to see this."
"See what?" Jason asked, turning around into Montgomery's hand.
"Sleep and watch."
Jason woke up in a void. He looked around and saw the inside of a house.
"I'm the Avatar and there's nothing you can do about it!" A five year old Korra yelled.
'So. I'm watching Korra's point of view.' He thought.
Korra trained in Fire, Water, and Earth. She had natural talent for bending those three elements, but she didn't have the spiritual aspect for Air Bending.
Tenzin showed up and told her that he couldn't train her because of the Equalist problem. She frowned but agreed.
That night she ran away and ended up in Republic city.
'Here's where Azin, Baani, and I show up.' He thought when he saw her at the food cart; they didn't show up. Why didn't they show up?
Korra ended up at the shop and took out the Triple Threat Triad by herself.
He cheered her on as she took them on alone but was worried that he hadn't been there to help her. He watched and neither he, Azin, nor Baani didn't show up.
Lin showed up and arrested Korra.
Tenzin showed up and told her to go home, but relented. Allowing her to stay at Air Temple Island.
She trained but couldn't get it. She didn't understand what Tenzin was trying to teach her.
"Teach her Battle Meditation!" He yelled.
Korra went to the pro Bending Arena and became a Fire Ferret. Her first round was rocky, but she quickly got the hang of it.
She and Mako started "dating" if you could call it that and dated until Asami showed up then that started a whole shit storm.
Bolin got drunk off of noodles and called Mako a girlfriend stealer.
Korra was tricked into joining Tarrlok's task force and challenged Amon to a fight.
"No! You idiot! Tarrlok is playing you! You're not nearly prepared enough to fight Amon and he's not going to honor the terms of the fight!"
Korra went to the fight and lost.
Jason tried interfering but couldn't move. All he could do was watch as Amon used fear tactics to try and break Korra. It almost worked, but Korra was a fighter, and eventually bounced back.
Korra left Tarrlok's task force and went back to the Fire Ferrets.
Amon told them to cancel the Pro Bending finals or he would.
Korra and Lin convinced them to keep the finals open.
The finals weren't nearly as violent as when he was there. Not nearly as many people died, but people got hurt.
Korra offered Mako and Bolin a place at Air Temple Island, but Asami beat her to it, making Korra even more jealous.
Then things happened with the trap, because they didn't know about the Platinum and Team Red Hood didn't show up. They only got out of there because of Asami, Bolin, and Mako.
Lin was kicked out by Tarrlok and Saikhan replaced her.
Team Avatar formed but when they chased the Equalists down and Tarrlok tried arresting Dragon Flats for his war he arrested Asami, Bolin, and Mako.
Korra went to talk to him.
"No!" Jason yelled. "Tarrlok's a Blood Bender! Stay away from him! Stay the fuck away from him!"
Tarrlok Blood Bent Korra, and Jason was helpless to do anything.
Tarrlok took her to the cabin in the woods he'd taken him to, but instead of getting out right away she had a vision about some shit stain named Yakone. It turned out that someone named Aang could take Bending away too.
Yakone got facial surgery, married and had two sons. Noatak and Tarrlok. He taught both of them how to Water Bend before teaching them how to Blood Bend.
"What the fuck? You need the moon to Blood Bend? Then what the fuck do you call what I've been doing?"
Yakone taught them how to psychically Blood Bend.
"Oh. So that's what you call it."
Noatak picked it up quickly, but Tarrlok didn't want to do it since the animals cried out in pain.
Jason grit his teeth and wanted to Blood Bend Yakone.
Yakone made Noatok and Tarrlok Blood Bend each other but Tarrlok couldn't Blood Bend his Brother.
Yakone called him weak and Noatak Blood Bent Yakone before he ran away.
Tarrlok came back and was about to leave when the Equalists and Amon showed up. They almost shocked Korra, but she used her wrappings to keep herself from getting shocked.
She attacked the Equalists when they opened the door and bolted. She almost got caught but managed to escape.
Meanwhile Asami was too busy being jealous to find Korra.
"Wow. Bitch much?" Jason asked. "This sounds like a terrible soap opera if I'm being honest. Who wrote this shit?"
Naga found Korra and took her back to Republic City. When she woke up, she told everyone about Tarrlok and Yakone.
Mako went back to doting on Korra, making Asami angry.
"Okay. That! That I understand! Pick one and stay with one!" Jason yelled at Mako. "Quit playing with both of them!"
The Equalists attacked. Gathering up the council and taking the Lin.
The group hid in the underground with the bums who didn't give a shit of you were a Bender or a non Bender.
The Imperial Navy showed up, but it was a trap, and they almost lost, but Korra managed to save the General.
They sent out a message telling the reinforcements to stay back while they sorted this out.
Bolin, General Iroh, and Asami went to destroy Hiroshi Sato's secret airfield in the mountains while Korra and Mako snuck into Air Temple Island and found Tarrlok who told them that Amon was Tarrlok.
"Okay. I was not expecting that." Jason said.
They snuck into the theater where Amon was going to take the Air Benders Families Bending away.
"Fuck you Amon!"
Korra interrupted Amon and a fight ensued.
Mako and Korra fought Amon.
Mako was knocked away and Amon took Korra's Bending before walking over to Mako.
The Lieutenant walked in and saw Amon Blood Bending, and Amon killed him.
Korra began Air Bending and knocked Amon outside before he showed that he was a Water Bender and swam away.
"Huh. Gonna have to stop him."
Amon gathered Tarrlok and they began their escape, but Tarrlok killed them by shocking the gas tank.
"Shocking." Jason punned.
The rest of that reality was blurred.
"I'm sorry." Montgomery said. "I don't want you to have future knowledge that will impact the world too much. So, keep watching and the information will be released when the time is right."
"You're joking right?"
"No."
Jason watched but didn't see anything useful.
"Ya know." A familiar voice said. "You can make a big difference here Jay Bird."
"Roy?" Jason asked.
"Yup. It's me, Jay Bird."
"You're dead." Jason said in relieved shock. "They told me you died."
"I did. I was getting actual help, but then I died."
"Who did it?"
"Not important. What is important is that you found a place where you can start over, but you need to take that first step."
"Why are you always so optimistic?"
"It's part of my charm. You know you love me for it."
"Are you sure you're not going to tell me who killed you?" Jason changed the subject.
"Yes. It was an accident, and it'll get changed whenever Barry breaks the speed force again."
"Was it at least Painless?"
"For the most part."
"Are you at peace?"
"For the time being. I am content."
"Okay."
"Promise me one thing Jay Bird. Find happiness in your new reality. Find a nice girl, or guy. I won't judge. Get laid three times a night, and don't let your past define you. Joker isn't there, Penguin isn't there, Bruce isn't there. Find peace and happiness. Wherever you are."
"I will Roy."
"That's all I ask. Alright. I'm outta here Jay Bird."
Jason watched as Roy left and was replaced by Kara.
"Hey." He said, rubbing his neck.
"Hello Jason." Kara said.
"What's up?"
"Me." She said flying into the sky.
"Punny."
"I thought so. I seem to remember you being fond of them."
"I blame Roy for that."
"How are you coping with his death?"
"I'm mad. I want to find out who did it..." Jason sighed.
"But?"
"...but Roy wouldn't want me to."
"I See. If you had been a little more like this when we first met, maybe we could have been more than friends."
"How's Michael doing?" Jason changed the subject.
"We aren't together anymore."
"Told ya it wouldn't work out. There's a reason Heroes date other Heroes."
"Don't start."
Jason held his hands up in Surrender.
"So. Is there anyone new in your life?"
"Yeah. I'm in a different Universe, and there's this girl here named Korra. I say girl because she's almost 20 and I'm 28."
"You're almost 10 years older than her."
"Yeah. I wasn't too excited by it, but she was really into it. She's even more into it now."
Kara blushed at that.
"What? You haven't done it yet?"
"No."
"How long were you with Michael?"
"Look. I'd love to stay and chat, but I have to go. Talk to you later."
Jason nodded and Kara disappeared with Bizzarro taking her place.
"Hey big guy." Jason said.
"Hello Red him."
"How ya doing big guy? You and Artemis doing okay, wherever you are?"
"Yes. We am okay."
"That's good."
"Yes. Bizzarro think that am good too."
"Hey."
"Yes?"
"I'm really glad that I got to know you."
"Me am glad that Bizzarro got to know Red Him too. Is Red Him coming back?"
"I don't think so big guy. I don't think I can."
"Oh. Bizzarro and Red Her will miss Red Him."
"I'll miss you guys too buddy."
Bizzarro disappeared and, in his place, stood Dick Grayson.
"Hey Dick." Jason said.
"What's up Jay?"
"How do you do it? How do you take hit after hit and still go on smiling as if everything is alright?"
"You're asking me for advice? I never thought I'd see the day."
"Well, that day's today."
"I can see that." Dick said. "The answer is... I don't. I'm not like you Jason. I can't take hits and keep going. Sure, I put on a smile and act as if nothing is bothering me, but I'm only human. You've been able to turn that part of yourself off so that you can make the hard decisions like killing someone. Do I agree with it? No, but do I understand and respect you for it? Yes. You're willing to cross a line that the rest of us, excluding Damian, aren't willing to cross.
"So should I continue being the reckless assassin that I am or should I try changing who I am for the better?"
"Both. There are days when the world will need you to be the reckless assassin, and other days when the world will need you to be someone else. Be what the world needs you to be."
"Okay. Thanks. That Kinda puts it in perspective for me."
"Was that all, or did you need something else." Or
"I think that's all."
"Okay. I'll be going now." Dick said before walking away leaving the last person Jason wanted to see.
"Bruce." Jason said coldly.
"Jason." Bruce replied.
"Come to kick the shit out of me again for killing Penguin; which, I forgot to change my rubber bullets out for real bullets. So, Penguin should be fine. He may be blind, but not dead."
"I know. I just wanted to let you know that I'm actually proud of you Jason. You proved that you could be a Hero. I'll admit that I acted rashly when I thought you killed Penguin..."
"Ya think? You were hitting me harder than you ever hit the Joker, and I was holding back. I was trying to get through to you, but your lust for Justice needed to be sated."
"I know. There was something that I've always wanted to tell you, but never had the courage to."
"What?"
"I'm proud of you. You are willing to do what I can't when the world needs it. You're willing to cross that line that I can't cross."
"That's a little hypocritical of you. Kicking the shit out of me for almost killing the Penguin then telling me that you're proud of me for being able to kill."
"I found the letters. I can understand why you would be so upset with Penguin."
"Upset doesn't even begin to cover how mad I am."
"I know."
"Is that everything?"
"Yes." Bruce said, even though they both knew that was a lie.
Bruce turned away and left, leaving Jason in the void with only his thoughts.
Jason opened his eyes and looked up to see a metal roof. He sat up and looked around.
"Jason!" Lara's voice filled the base. "You're awake! You've been unconscious for the last three days!"
"Three days?"
"Yes."
"Shit! Where is everyone?"
"They went to fight Amon and his Equalists. A lot has happened."
"The navy showed up and lost."
"Yes. How did you know?"
"Montgomery."
"I See."
"I need to get to the others." Jason ran outside and Metal bent his way onto the roofs before he ran to the arena. He arrived and jumped through a window in time to see Amon take Korra's Bending away. "NNOOO!" He shouted, jumping at Amon and kicking him away.
Amon dodged and spun away from Jason.
Jason pressed his advantage, leading Amon into a corner.
Amon realized what Jason was doing and vaulted over Jason and punched him in the back with his metal prosthetic and shocked him.
Jason spun, knocking Amon's legs from under him and punched the ground.
Amon rolled out of the way and Jason dented the floor where he was before throwing the floor at him.
Amon dodged out of the way and kicked out at Jason who sidestepped and grabbed Amon's leg and went to throw him, but Amon kicked him with his free leg and knocked him back.
Jason closed his eyes and felt around him. He could feel the water in the air, the heat from the sun, the static electricity in the air, the sand on the floor and the dust in the air, the minerals in the metal, earth, and... was he really sensing that right?
Amon kicked him out of the way. "Now is a poor time to meditate Red Hood!" He kicked Jason to the ground and grabbed his shoulder, shocking him. "I don't know how you were able to keep your Bending after I took it that first time, but rest assured that I WILL take it THIS time." Amon placed his thumb on Jason's forehead and Jason pulled his hand across his face pulling his helmet on and severing Amon's thumb from his hand.
Jason grabbed Amon's thumb with his teeth and pulled his helmet back before spitting Amon's thumb into Amon's face before pushing him back with the metal of his mask. "Hey Amon! You want to know what's more devastating than Blood Bending?"
Amon glared at Jason while holding his mutilated hand.
"Bone bending." Jason said menacingly while he held his hand out and gripped it.
"ACK!" Amon cried out in pain as Jason gripped his Skull.
Jason grabbed Amon's Skull with his newly discovered Bone Bending and slammed him into the ground hard enough to make him bounce up before he ran at Amon and kicked him, using Bone Bending to add that much more to the kick. He jumped onto the window sill and watched as Amon floated in the water, stunned from the attack. He did something that he hadn't done in almost two years. He let his anger, hatred, and rage for Amon consume him causing the sky to darken with potential.
He made the movement for Lightning Bending and sent a massive bolt of lightning into the ocean on top of Amon.
"Whoa." he said as he began swaying. "I guess I must have overworked myself again." He tipped forward and fell outside the window.
"NO!" Korra shouted, grabbing Jason as he fell out the window. Unfortunately, she was in no condition to actually stop his fall, and he pulled her out of the window too. She grabbed the window sill and held Jason with her quickly dwindling strength. "Jason!" She strained with the effort. "Jason! Please wake up! I can't hold on any longer."
No response.
"JASON!" Korra sobbed. "Please! I can't!"
A memory flashed in her mind, and she remembered Jason saying: "saying that you CAN'T do something is only limiting what you can do. You can do anything if you put your mind to it."
Korra looked around and saw one of the green vials on Jason's belt. It had a needle sticking out of it. "Venom." She said, "It can increase my strength." She touched the vial, but it fell out of the holder and fell to the floor shattering. "NO!" She yelled in agony, both emotional and physical. "JASON!" She sobbed.
She realized that it was all up to her. What she did in the next moment would determine if she was truly worthy of the Avatar title or just some kind of pretender. She gripped the window sill as tightly as she could with all her strength and pulled herself up feeling the toll it was taking on her body. She gripped Jason as tightly as she could and threw him through the window. She grabbed the window sill and was about to climb out when the events of the day caught up with her and she passed out, falling to the floor.
A man with a red helmet, metal armor covering his entire body, an odd pistol hanging on his right hip and another bulge in the left of the brown jacket he wore, and twin 14 inch cylinders on his left hip ran out of a portal and held his arms up, catching Korra in an invisible field of energy before he pushed her up to the window, slid her inside, and laid her next to this worlds version of him before disappearing back into the portal leaving no one the wiser.
When Jason woke up, he hurt. He couldn't remember what had happened. He looked around to see that was in a bed that wasn't one of the ones he'd found or bought. On top of that the air was colder. Where was he? Where was Korra? He tried moving, but his aching body convinced him not to.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you." A wizened voice said.
"Who are you?" Jason groaned out. "Where's Korra?"
"I wish that I could say that she's fine, but without her bending..."
"She'll be fine." Jason said.
"She did seem more pensive rather than upset."
"I've been training her how to fight without bending."
"You have? How did you do that?"
"I taught her battle Meditation. Meditation through the act of sparing or shadow fighting."
"I See. She's also a bit calmer. Did you have anything to do with that?"
"What do you mean?"
"I think you know exactly what I mean young man."
"If you're asking if we're having regular sexual intercourse the answer is yes."
"Ooh. Tonroq isn't going to like that. Not one bit."
"The only thing that's important to me is Korra's opinion. So long as she's happy. I don't care."
"Hmm. Tonroq loves his daughter. He doesn't want to see her get hurt."
"Neither do I."
"Really?"
"Yes." Jason forced himself to sit up and took off his shirt before he pulled the Water Vapor toward himself and let it soak his body letting him heal his sores, aches, and bruises.
"How did you do that?" The woman asked.
"I don't know. I just did it."
"What else can you do?"
"Let's See. In order I can water Bend, Earth Bend, Fire Bend, Lightning Bend, Metal Bend, Bone Bend, and Blood Bend."
"What were those last two?"
"Bone Bend and Blood Bend?"
"Yes." The woman's eyes filled with horror. You don't use them, do you?"
"Well, I don't use Blood Bending, or at least, I try not to. I used it on myself once, but I just figured out Bone Bending and I used it against Amon to beat him."
"Promise me that you won't ever use those two bending styles."
"What? Why?"
"Because. Toph and I are the strongest Benders of our Elements and not even WE use those Bending styles. Toph theorized that Bone Bending was possible but refused to use it because the potential unnecessary and unneeded damage it would do to a person was just too much of a price to pay for that kind of power. I refuse to use Blood Bending for the same reason. How were you able to Blood Bend yourself?"
"I don't know. I just did it. I figured out how to Bend the Elements by just wondering if I could do something and testing it out. Also, why don't you just change Blood Bending to be something more useful?"
"Like what?"
"Like use it to check for infections or something. There's that earth scan thing that Lin can do. Why can't Toph just use that on bones? Bones are minerals, right? You could do something similar with Blood Bending."
The woman's mouth dropped open. "How would you like to learn the healing aspect of Water Bending?"
"Sure." Jason agreed. "I'm always willing to learn new and useful things."
"Good. We start tomorrow."
"Okay." Jason left the tent he was in and saw that he was in the snow. "Oh shit. I'm not in Republic City anymore."
"No." Korra said from his left. "We're in the South Pole."
"Oh. Wow."
"Yeah."
"How are you doing?"
Korra walked to him and hugged him. Jason hugged her back and she shivered. "I'm so cold. I've never been this cold before."
Jason vented some of his heat and Korra soaked it in.
"Tenzin thinks he knows a way to get my Bending back."
"That's great. How?"
"I need to go visit four places spiritually linked to the Elements and travel to the Spirit Realm. He thinks that it'll unlock my Bending abilities again."
"You have an even better understanding of martial arts now. It should be easier."
"Yeah. He says that he doesn't think you should come because you might distract me."
"Well." Jason said haughtily. "I guess that I'll have to tell the old lady that I'll have to skip out on her training because I need to annoy Tenzin and keep you distracted from learning Bending again."
"Katara offered to train you?"
"Yeah. Why?"
"Because. You'll be learning from Katara. She's the greatest Water Bender ever."
"She did say something about her being the greatest Water Bender ever and Toph being the greatest Earth Bender ever. Speaking of which. Do you know about the most dangerous Earth Bending technique?"
"Lava Bending?"
"No. Bending the minerals in bones."
"Bone Bending?" Korra asked.
"Yes. That's how I was able to beat Amon. I bent the minerals in his bones."
"That Sounds even more painful than Blood Bending."
"Amon probably thought so."
Korra was quiet for a moment. "We have until tomorrow before… We don't know when we'll see each other again. How do you want to spend our last night together?"
"Katara said that your dad wasn't going to be happy when he found out about us. Do you think we should tell him?"
"It's been a long day. We can tell him tonight at dinner."
"Tell who what?" A large stout man with thick muscle walked up to them. He had thick, long black hair and a goatee. He looked at Jason and looked as if he could break Jason with his bare hands.
"Jason and I are together." Korra said.
"So, you're the man who stole my daughter's heart." Tonroq said. "You look older than her."
"Twenty-eight sir." Jason replied respectfully.
"I See. I was thirty when Senna and I began talking about marriage. She was barely twenty-one. I hope you've been taking care of my daughter."
"I've definitely been trying to sir."
"Then why did she lose her Bending if you were with her?" Tonroq asked on the verge of being angry.
"Dad! I don't need someone to protect me! I can look after myself! Besides, Jason taught me how to defend myself without bending."
Tonroq looked at Jason. "How?"
In response Jason lashed out at Korra with a chop which she blocked and returned with a punch that Jason jumped away from before flipping and kicking at Korra who caught Jason's leg and threw him into the ground.
Jason jumped back up and punched Korra who sidestepped and punched Jason in the ribs only for him to catch her hand and pull her forward before clotheslining her, dropping her.
Tonroq watched the two in a mix of amazement and horror. "You taught my daughter to fight like that?" He asked.
"Yes sir."
Tonroq just stared at Jason.
"He's also taught me other things, dad."
"Like what?" Tonroq asked.
"I am Korra of the Southern Water Tribe first and the Avatar second. He also taught me that I need to have fun more often."
"Are you two involved?" Tonroq asked, only half wanting to know the answer.
"Well... yes." Korra said. "I wanted it first, but there were other circumstances that finally pushed us towards that."
"We played Truth or Dare with some friends and one of them tried getting us to use up a pass turn and dared us to have sex." Jason explained. "We did."
"And we've been together ever since." Korra finished.
"Is your entire relationship based on having sex?" Tonroq asked. Staring at Jason.
"No." Korra said. "Jason didn't even want to be in a relationship because he thought he was too old, but now we're content in our relationship. We do more than just have sex."
"I See." Tonroq turned to Jason. "If you hurt my daughter. There will be no force on this earth that will protect you from me."
"I think you're going to have to beat Korra to the punch." Jason said. "She's not the type to just sit back and take bullshit from anyone. It's one of the reasons why I respect her and find her attractive."
Korra blushed.
"I See." Tonroq said. "Well. Let's go find Senna. I'm sure that she'll want to meet you."
Jason and Korra followed Tonroq back to Korra's home, Jason keeping Korra close to him and venting heat to her.
They walked inside and the air was thick with the aroma of cooking. It took Jason back to when he'd walk into Wayne Manor on Thanksgiving and Alfred had been busy in the kitchen.
"Senna." Tonroq rumbled. "We're home."
A woman walked out of the kitchen and saw the group. She took one look at Jason and Korra and nodded in approval.
"I think my mom likes you." Korra said.
Senna walked up to Jason and looked at him. "Hello." She said, "I'm Senna. Korra's mother."
"Well, I can definitely tell where Korra got her looks from." Jason said.
Senna and Korra blushed and Tonroq laughed. "I don't know a single person who can make both my wife and daughter blush like that." He boomed.
"It must be my charm."
"Is Jason a Word Bender?" Montgomery asked from the kitchen. "This is great. Jason is a Word Bender and Korra is a Wood Bender."
Korra blushed and Jason and Tonroq glared at Montgomery.
"I've got to say that this is really good Senna."
"I'm glad you like it, Monty. Where is Halo and the others?"
"Halo is nursing Selene and Azin and Baani are in the healing hut."
"Azin!" Jason yelled, startling everyone. "Where is the healing hut!"
"It's the long house." Korra explained.
Jason took off for the long house and burst through the door. "Azin! Baani!"
"We're back here!" Baani shouted, running out to meet Jason. She bolted for him and hugged him when she saw him.
Jason dropped to a knee and hugged Baani.
"I was so scared. I didn't know if you were going to wake up."
"I did. I'm here. Where's Azin?"
Baani led Jason back to Azin who was lying on a bed, sleeping.
Jason wanted to try something but didn't want to hurt Azin. He sat on the ground and meditated.
He didn't know how long he meditated for, but he didn't stop until he placed a hand on Azin's shoulder and sent out a pulse of Bone Bending.
He could sense all of the Bones in Azin's body, sense every fracture, every break, every imperfection in the bone. He sensed the problem with Azin's spine; three of his Vertebrae were misaligned. He didn't know if it would give him the ability to walk again, but he now knew what the problem was.
He stood up and brushed himself off and looked down at Azin.
Azin looked back up at him. "The old lady, Katara. She told me that I was paralyzed from the neck down. Is that true?"
"For the time being. I'll talk to Lara and see what she thinks. Maybe you aren't."
"And even if you are." Montgomery said. "We have other options."
"Okay." Jason and Azin said in unison.
"Korra's going to be leaving soon." Montgomery said. "If you want to say goodbye. I suggest you do it now."
Jason looked at Azin who nodded and left.
Lara walked into the long house and looked at Azin. "Let's see what I can do about your back." She said,
Jason ran through the snow to find Korra. He found her at Naga's pen. "Hey." He spoke.
Korra ran at him and kissed him. "I thought I wasn't going to be able to see you off." She said when she broke away.
"I was trying to help Azin."
"I know. I saw you meditating. Did you find out anything?"
"I can use Bone Bending to sense a person's skeletal structure."
"What!?"
"Yeah. I sent a pulse through their body, and it acts like Lin's Ground Penetrating Radar."
"Oh. Well, that's all well and good, but speaking of penetrating. Want to have some fun before we don't see each other for who knows how long?"
"Make it quick." Katara said from the doorway. "I'll buy you a few minutes."
"Thanks, Katara." Korra said.
"I remember what it was like to be your age. So many hormones that you don't know what to do with. You'll be gone for a year, maybe more. I can almost guarantee that the first thing you two will do when you get back is move the earth without Earth Bending."
Jason and Korra looked at each other before Korra grabbed Jason and pulled him on top of her. "We have five minutes. What are you going to do about it?"
"Make every second count." Jason said as he pulled Korra's pants off while she pulled her shirt off.
She pulled his shirt off and he pulled his pants off before she licked his tip making him hard. She pushed him onto the ground and swung around so they were in sixty nine, deep throating his shaft easily while he grabbed her ass and began eating her out.
Once they were both aptly aroused Korra pulled herself around and lowered herself onto his hardened, slick shaft.
Jason rolled over so he was on top and positioned himself so that his tip would brush against Korra's G spot with each thrust.
Korra was in pure sexual bliss. She couldn't think because Jason kept hitting her G Spot making her focus on the pleasure. Before she was able to hit her climax Jason pulled out and swung around into sixty nine and Korra deepthroated his shaft while he took her clit into his mouth and rubbed her thighs.
Korra squirted, hitting the wall opposite of them. She froze when her climax hit and almost wasn't ready for it when Jason's hit.
She did everything she could do to drain his balls of every last drop of semen, licking her lips when she was done.
Jason rolled off of Korra and lay down next to her.
They both were panting heavily when Korra looked at him. "H-how long did that take?"
"About five minutes." Jason gasped.
"Promise me next time we see each other we'll go for as long as we can."
"I promise." Jason said pulling the water from the air and cleaned them off before drying them with his fire and they dressed.
They finished dressing just in time because the doors to Naga's pen opened to show Tenzin and Katara.
"There you are." Tenzin said. "Come on. We need to get going."
"Okay, okay." Korra said. "Wouldn't want your hair to go gray."
Tenzin Blustered and coughed while Jason and Katara tried not to laugh.
"We should get going too." Katara said to Jason. "I need to evaluate your abilities with Water Bending before I will know what I need to teach you, and what you already know."
"Sounds good to me." Jason said.
Korra and Jason kissed before heading in different directions.
"I trust you two used protection?" Tenzin asked.
"Yes." Korra said. "How did you know?"
"Believe it or not I was young once too you know. Also, with Air Bending I can hear things that I normally wouldn't have been able to hear."
"Oh." Korra said horrified.
"Don't worry. I didn't hear what you two were doing but promise me that you were at least being safe. I know what it's like to have hormones and emotions on Control, and I don't want to see you get hurt."
"Don't worry Tenzin. We were safe. Save your worries for the return after Jason and I haven't seen each other in a year or longer."
"Just make sure to use protection. You don't want to be raising a family at the age of twenty-two while also having to be the Avatar, do you?"
"How old was Aang when he had Bumi?"
"We at least had my mother. Can you honestly tell me that Jason would stay home with children when he could be on the battlefield with you?"
Korra grew quiet for a moment. "After what happened to Azin and Baani? Yes."
"Let's hope you're right then." Tenzin said as they climbed onto Oogi's back with the rest of the Air Bender Family.
Jason and Katara walked through the snow to the arena.
"Okay." Katara Said. "Show me what You're capable of with Water Bending."
Jason pulled the water from the air and before he threw it at a Training dummy. He pulled it back and froze it before throwing it at another Training dummy. He pulled the snow into the air and launched it at another Training dummy before he walked to the cliffs and pulled at the ocean making a stairway to ocean and walked down until he was walking on the water and walked back up before he finally dropped. "Walking on Water takes a lot more out of me than I remember."
Katara looked at Jason in shock. "You know a lot, but there is still more that l can teach you."
"I'm Ready to learn whatever you have to teach me."
"Run around the village until you can't run anymore. Then come Talk to me."
"You sure? I can run for a long ass time."
"Yes, and Language. In fact. Run until you can't run anymore, then run Ten More."
"Okay." Jason said stretching. Once he stretched out, he began running around the village.
"You're gonna be waiting a long time." Baani told Katara.
"Why's that?"
"Because Jason is fast and strong."
"How long do you think he can run?"
Hmm." Baani thought. "I think he can run 50 laps around the village."
"Is that so?"
"Yup."
"Let's keep track, shall we?"
"Okay." Baani sat down next to Katara and they watched Jason run his laps around the Village.
Baani had fallen asleep next to Katara while waiting for Jason to finish.
Katara had started keeping track of the number of laps Jason had run so far and she was impressed to say the least.
After his fiftieth lap he tossed his jacket off and continued running.
After his seventy-fifth lap he pushed his sleeves up.
After his one hundredth lap she stopped him. He'd probably have run even longer if she'd let him, but she was training him, not watching him run a race.
"I thought you said to run until I couldn't run anymore and then run ten more laps."
"I did, but that was before you ran one hundred laps. How did you run that many in the first place?"
"Practice, I was doing a nice jog as opposed to a full-blown run, and have you SEEN the size of this village? It isn't very big."
"Very well. Now. Let us begin your training."
"What are you going to teach me?"
"I'm going to teach you how to Water Bend your sweat." Katara said as she grabbed some sweat from Jason with her own Water Bending. "Now, watch."
AN: So... Korra is going to get her Bending back with Tenzin. She's going on an adventure. Meanwhile Jason is staying at the South Pole to train, and you better believe that Tonroq is going to put him through his paces before he acknowledges him as good enough for Korra. Also, Bone Bending is a thing now. It's always been possible since Earth Benders, Toph most of all, is able to move minerals in earth. Bones are made out of Minerals, which means that she should be able to Bone Bend. She just doesn't because she likely doesn't want to. Jason has no qualms about using Bone Bending or Blood Bending because it's just another weapon in his arsenal.
And talk about a shocking finish. I bet that Amon didn't see that one coming, But Jason almost got himself and Korra killed to kill Amon. Good thing that another Jason showed up... I wonder which universe he's from?
Also, I changed Amon up a lot from canon because, Escalation. Jason is someone that he couldn't just beat, take his Bending away, and call it a day. He actually had trouble with him from start to finish and it pissed him off to the point of having to escalate things.
So., I wonder what will happen in season two. Will Jason catch Unaloq? Will they be able to stop him? Will Unaloq get Korra? Will the whole Vaatu thing even happen? This and more answers in Rise of the Red Avatar: Book 2: Spirits.
