It was only then that Rapunzel started to realize that she was surrounded by the flag of Corona. She had been drawing the flag of Corona all her life. It was everywhere in her tower room, the ceiling, the walls, even the floor. Seeing the sun from the Corona flag everywhere caused her to have flashbacks to all of the different places and pictures she had seen while in the village outside the castle. She even seemed to remember something from her time as an infant. As well as remembering trying on the crown before she left the tower. Rapunzel gasped and thought to herself. Oh, my goodness. I know who I am.

A short time later, Arabelle, along with her escorts, met Flynn outside the palace gates. Taking the other guard aside, Colton decided to explain the situation before the other guard could raise concerns about helping who he believed was the notorious Flynn Rider.

"There are two of them. I wouldn't have believed it myself had I not seen them both earlier. His brother saved my Leila from the fire not long ago. I pledged to help either of them if I could." Colton whispered to the other guard. "This is what I can do to help. The one that saved Leila was just arrested and taken to the dungeon. The girl that he was with has disappeared. The princess was concerned enough to get her parents to allow you and I to escort them to where they believe the girl was taken. I cannot stand by and let an innocent man be imprisoned. I have to do something."

"Are we ready?" Arabelle asked, deciding not to let anyone distract them from the mission at hand. We have to save my sister, she thought to herself. "We have to hurry. I have a bad feeling about that girl. I think she's in real danger. Flynn can you lead us back to that tower you found? I'm sure that's where she was taken."

"Absolutely, Princess," Flynn responded. "It's a bit of a walk but follow me." Leading the way, Flynn headed out of the town and directly towards the hidden valley where the tower was located.

Back in the palace dungeon, guards appeared at the door to the cell Eugene was being kept in. Eugene glanced up.

"Come on Rider, it's time. Let's get this over with," the first guard stated quietly.

"It's time for what?" Eugene asked.

The guard smirked. "You know what."

Eugene gulped and put his hand over his throat in a protective gesture. The guards cuffed Eugene and led him out of the cell and down the cell block. Eugene was frantically trying to figure out what to do, how to get out of this, when he saw movement in one of the cells as he walked past. Turning, he realized it was the Stabbingtons. Eugene stopped. He elbowed each of the guards, brought his bound hands down and jumped over the chain so his hands were in front of him, ran to the cell door and pulled one of them roughly into the bars.

"How did you know about her? Tell me NOW." Eugene demanded.

"I-it wasn't us. It was the old lady."

"The old lady?" Eugene questioned. Then, right as it dawned on him who they were referring to, the guards had recovered enough to drag him away from the bars and attempted to continue walking.

"WAIT," Eugene yelled. "She's in trouble. WAIT!" he continued yelling as the guards dragged him away.

Back at the tower, Gothel went to climb the stairs, calling for Rapunzel. "Rapunzel?" Waiting a few moments she called again. "Rapunzel what is going on up there?"

Rapunzel didn't answer, instead she was sitting on her bed, stunned at her discovery. She had just pulled back the curtains that partitioned off her bedroom when Gothel had reached the top of the stairs.

"Are you alright?" she asked Rapunzel.

Rapunzel looked down before answering.

"I'm the lost princess," she whispered.

"Ugh," Gothel stated. "Come on, speak up Rapunzel. You know how I hate the mumbling."

Rapunzel took a deep breath before responding in a loud clear voice.

"I am the lost princess, aren't I?" Rapunzel asked her. Gothel didn't say a word, but the fear was clear in her eyes. "Did I mumble, Mother? Or should I even call you that?"

Gothel recovered enough to make a joke of it. "Oh, Rapunzel. Do you even hear yourself? Why would you ask such a ridiculous question?" she asked and attempted to pull Rapunzel in for a hug. Rapunzel was having none of it and pushed Gothel's hands away, stepping back.

"It was YOU! It was ALL you!" Rapunzel accused her. Gothel took a breath and continued her ruse of only wishing to protect Rapunzel from the mean and cruel outside world.

"Everything I did was to protect you." Gothel stated, only to have Rapunzel shove her aside with a grunt and start down the stairs.

"Rapunzel!" Gothel called out. Rapunzel didn't stop and Gothel was forced to follow her down the stairs.

"I've spent my entire life hiding from people who would use me for my power." Rapunzel huffed.

"Rapunzel!" Gothel yelled again with a snarl. Rapunzel went on as if she had not heard her.

"...when I should have been hiding from YOU!" Rapunzel yelled.

Gothel refused to be intimidated. "Oh yeah? Where will you go? They won't be there for you."

"Oh my God. What did you do to him? What did you do to ALL of them? TELL ME!" Rapunzel was losing her grip on her temper.

"Oh those criminals are to be hanged for their crimes."

Rapunzel gasped. "NO!"

Gothel took the opportunity to circle around back in front of Rapunzel before replying. "Now, now. It's all right, Rapunzel. Just listen to me. All of this ended up as it should be." she stated before going to pat Rapunzel on the head as she had many times in the past.

"NO!" Rapunzel shouted, grabbing her wrist before she could touch her. "You were wrong about the world. And you were wrong about me! You LIED TO ME! And I will NEVER let you use my hair again!"

Gothel grunted, jerking away from Rapunzel's hold on her. She backed into a standing mirror, knocking it over and breaking the glass. Gothel panted for breath. Rapunzel gave her one last glare and turned to walk away. Gothel still refused to accept defeat. "So you want me to be the bad guy, Rapunzel?" she asked softly, almost whispering. "Fine, now I'm the bad guy." she stated as she went to follow Rapunzel.
