Harry's POV
We appeared in Slughorn's office at mum's suggestion. He never missed a meal and would not be there. Even if he was there, he wouldn't mind, as his all-time favorite student would have walked out of his fireplace and greeted him, even if she were supposed to be dead. He would probably be happy that Dad and Sirius were alive too, knowing the strange way his mind worked.
We made our way up from the dungeons and into the entrance hall. Lunch was in full swing and everyone was there. I shuddered to think of all the attention it would bring to me, but I couldn't take this away from Dad and Sirius, after being dead.
"They're here!"
The shrill voice came from inside the hall and the place when silent.
"I told you! Those who were never to walk the earth again have done so, and at a great expense to another!"
I rolled my eyes at Trelawney's dramatics.
"I know this to be true, Sybill. Now, would you please take your seat!" McGonagall calmly said.
Probably taken aback by the Headmistress' words, Trelawney fell silent.
"You can come in now" called McGonagall before the babble started up again.
The two Weasley twins went in first and stood either side of the hall, levitating the two boxes in the middle of the hall and with a flick of their wrists, ignited the fireworks inside. Colours brightened the hall as Mum, Dad, Sirius and I walked in and stood in front of the door. People were too busy admiring the fireworks to notice us, but a certain blonde Slytherin, called Pansy Parkinson, was not very interested in them and looked back at the entrance hall.
"OH MY GOD!" she screamed, then promptly fainted.
People turned to look at her, muttering about who knows what, and those nearest us noticed us first.
"Harry!" Hermione dashed over, closely followed by Ron and Draco.
She flung her arms around me and squeezed me tight.
"Hermione" I gasped. "Can't... breathe."
"Well don't do that again then!" she said, letting go. "I was worried sick! Where have you..."
She trailed of and took a step back as she noticed the people behind me. By this time, the fireworks had faded away and everyone was staring at us.
"Been..." she finished.
"I'll tell you later" I said grinning.
"But first," Dad beamed and waved his wand.
The entire Slytherin table was suddenly bright pink. Robes, hats, shoes and the table were the horrifying colour that Umbridge wore. The other three tables burst into laughter as the Slytherins tried frantically to turn their clothes back to normal.
"Mr Potter!" McGonagall chided from the other end of the hall. "Undo the spell at once!"
"Sorry, Minnie!" Dad grinned. "The charm lasts for an hour."
Her mouth twitched and curled into a rueful smile.
"James!" Mum said. "Did you have to do that?"
"Yes" guffawed Sirius. "They look hilarious."
"It's just as well you weren't sat over there" Ron grinned at Draco. "Is it?"
"Yeah," Draco shivered. "I had enough of that colour by the end of fifth year to last a lifetime."
"Which reminds me," Mum frowned. "I need to go to the Ministry and talk to that-"
"Lily" Dad said. "Worry about that later."
"Let's go see the teachers!" cried Sirius and marched up to the front table.
Most of the teachers were dumbstruck, but two were calm and composed.
"I trust you are settling in nicely?" McGonagall asked.
Mum nodded.
"Just fine, everything was as we left it. Not a thing out of place."
"The house was to be given to young Mr Potter" explained the Headmistress. "But now, I suppose, it is yours again."
Mum nodded and moved on.
"Lily?" smiled Slughorn. "Is that truly you?"
"In the flesh" beamed Mum. "I see you kept Francis."
"Of course!" cried Slughorn. "Although, when you... he disappeared sixteen years ago, poof. Then last night, a glow interrupted my lesson planning and Francis had returned. I just knew..."
"Don't worry Sluggy," Sirius said cheerily. "We're back for good."
"Mr Black!" the potions professor gasped. "I am truly sorry for what befell you. Twelve years in the worst place-"
"I prefer not to think about it" Sirius cut him off. "But thanks."
Mum, Dad and Sirius moved along the table, greeting old professors and chatting. Whispers could be heard throughout the hall, but I didn't care. I strode over to Trelawney.
"You have a gift" I told her. "You may not remember, but in third year, you told me that the Dark Lord would have his most loyal servant return to him. It was true and you are a seer. Don't you ever doubt it, no matter what people say."
"Thank you Mr Potter" she said, grasping my hand.
I left the grown ups and returned to Ron, Hermione and Draco. They stared at me like I had grown another head.
"What?" I said.
"How?" asked Ron.
"When?" added Hermione.
"And why?" finished Draco.
"I will tell you, but not here" I said, putting some roast potatoes on my plate. "I've called a meeting of the Order and I'm going to explain everything there. You know I don't like retelling things."
"Mr Potter, Mr Weasley, Mr Malfoy and Miss Granger, would you come here please?" McGonagall called.
I sighed and abandoned my food. We trudged up the the front to see what she wanted.
"There will be a meeting in Grimmauld Place for the Order, so you are excused from lessons until the meeting is over" she informed us.
"Okay, when does the meeting start?" I asked.
"Now" McGonagall replied. "Please follow me to my office. Lily, will you please bring those two to my office?"
"Yes, professor" Mum replied.
She dragged Dad and Sirius away from Hagrid and we all went to McGonagalls office. She offered us Floo Powder and I grimaced. I've never liked Floo travel, but I took a pinch anyway and stepped into the fireplace.
Tonks pulled me out the other end and I saw nearly the entire Order gathered there. Minus Snape.
"Wotcher, Harry" grinned Tonks. "What's this all about? We were all summoned here for no apparent reason."
"There is a reason, but everyone needs to go into the kitchen, seeing as it is the biggest room in the house" I commanded. "There are more people arriving so go. Remus, can you stay?"
The werewolf nodded and Tonks folded her arms, her hair turning from electric blue to dark red in seconds.
"And Tonks" I ammended.
Everyone else filed out and the room suddenly got a lot roomier. The Weasley twins came out of the fireplace next.
"Harry!" they chorused.
"How good to see you!"
"It's been too long, far too long."
"Shut up and get in the kitchen, both of you" ordered Remus.
"Wow, Gred" said George.
"I know Forge" said Fred.
"You're much less scary than Lily" they both said.
"I know" replied Remus. "She's going to kill me when she finds out I've been taking Wolfs Bane Potion."
"You've been taking Wolfs Bane!?" gasped Tonks, her hair going pure white. "Why?"
"I don't want to go into it right now" muttered Remus, rubbing his forehead.
"We will talk about this later" promised Tonks, giving Remus a look worthy of Mum.
"You're almost as scary as Mum" I commented.
"Wait, wait?" asked Tonks, confused.
At that precise moment, Mum and Dad stepped out of the fireplace. Mum dusted herself off and pushed James aside so Sirius could come through, which he did, very gracefully fell on his face.
"You still haven't got that down, Pads?" laughed Dad as he helped Sirius up.
Tonks' eyes were as wide as saucers, her hair brown and curly.
"SIRIUS" she squealed, barreling into him.
"Hey, cuz" Sirius said. "How've you been?"
"Don't you give me that" Tonks scolded. "You are my favorite family member and you just DIED, how do you think I felt!?"
"Sorry" he muttered.
"Tonks" I called over her scolding. "We need to move this into the kitchen."
"Right" she said and linked arms with her cousin. "Don't you dare think I've forgotten you, Remus." she added, narrowing her eyes. "We'll be having words later."
"She's got you on a tight leash" sniggered Dad.
"Looser than your own" retorted Remus, which earned him a slap from Mum.
At last, McGonagall arrived, carrying a rolled up piece of parchment ad we all went into the kitchen. Nearly all the Order was there. All the Weasleys, including Percy, Kingsley, Moody, Fluer was stood by Bill, Tonks and Remus, Hagrid was there too, beaming through his bushy beard. Cries of joy and surprise were heard as my parents and Sirius walked in. Hands were shaken and hugs were given.
When Mum reached Mrs Weasley, I heard her say "Thank you, Molly. You were his mother when I couldn't be."
Her face was glistening with tears again as Mrs Weasley brushed it off, blushing.
"Don't worry, dear. Harry's always welcome with us."
I smiled and hugged them both. When everyone was seated, we almost started to tell our tale, but the door banged open.
"I apologize for my lack of punctuality, second years are completely incompetent when handling..." the ex potions master drawled.
Snape stopped in shock as he stared at my mother and father, who were stood in the center of the room. Ron, Hermione, Draco and I were already sat, but I stood anyway.
"Lily?" he said, incredulously.
"Yes, Sev, I'm alive" Mum said, carefully.
She stood and walked over to him and put a hand on his shoulder.
"I'm back" she said.
Then Snape surprised all of us by hugging her fiercely.
"I missed you" he said, still in shock.
"I know, Sev, I know" soothed Mum.
They let go when Dad walked up to them.
"Snape," he said. "I've never liked you, you've never liked me. But thank you. Thank you for protecting my son all these years. We've been watching and listening to everything, and you've done more than most. Thank you."
He stuck you his hand and Snape slowly shook it, glancing at me.
"This is nice and all," rumbled Moody. "But we're not here for reunions, we're here to hear why we are having the reunions."
I launched into the story, starting from when Ron and I received the phantom bird. Mum, Dad, Sirius, Ron, Hermione and Draco helped tell the story.
"Well," said Arthur Weasley. "The tale you've woven seems too good to be true. Can we talk to Riddle?"
"No" said McGonagall. "I spoke with Nurse Natalie earlier today and she said that he still needs time to recover from the spell. It wasn't easy at all."
Mum looked down.
"What?" asked James. "What aren't you telling us?"
She looked up.
"Lord Voldemort is no more, because..." she hesitated. "He gave up his magic to bring us back. He is a muggle now."
