Senshi has made an ultimate comeback. He managed to beat Conner in his own tournament. Conner believed he had this duel won and that he dominated Ichika, but it ended up being the other way around. Conner tried proving he was the best, but now the world has seen that Senshi was the better one.
"Conner!" Mila called as she hurried over to him. "Are you okay?"
"Do I look okay?" Conner said as he was frustrated. "I had him! I thought I had him! White-Eyes Supreme Dragon was my best card! He would have needed to use Izanagi to beat me, but he didn't. How could this have happened?"
"I'm sorry, Conner." Senshi said. "I tried to warn you, but you simply refuse to listen."
"Spare me. I don't need your pity." Conner said.
"So be it." Senshi said as he respected Conner and his wishes. He just turned away and walked out of there, but he did wonder about something that Tatenashi mentioned earlier. 'I wonder if there really is some great power watching over Conner? He was always a skilled duelist, but he did a lot better than I thought. What could this power be exactly?'
"Ichika! You really won!" Charlotte said as she and Laura were so happy for him.
"You certainly handled the situation well." Laura said.
"Thank you, but I would like to see how Houki is doing before the finals." Senshi said. The both of them certainly understood that. Now that Conner was beaten, Ichika is in the finals and his opponent will be Meldrick. Of course, he's a lot more dangerous than Conner is. When the finals begin, Senshi and Ichika might have the most dangerous duel they've ever had, and that's exactly what Charlotte was afraid of.

The Girls
The other girls remained by Houki's side in hopes that she wakes up and gets better, but nothing has happened. They all hated seeing Houki like this, but there wasn't much they could do about it. Just then, Senshi and the others came walking in.
"Ichika! You're back!" Cecilia said.
"Did you let that jerk have it?" Rin questioned.
"Yes. I was able to beat Conner." Senshi confirmed. All of them were glad to hear that. At least they got a small bit of good news in this tough time. "How's Houki?"
"No change." Rin said as they were all getting sad again.
"The doctor has tried everything he could to help her, but there's nothing he can really do." Cecilia said. "There's also been no word about help coming to get her. He says that he's never seen a case like hers and all we can really do is wait and hope for the best." That isn't really good enough, but they all feel powerless as they just watch Houki sleep there.
"It's not just Houki whose life is on the line." Senshi said. "There's also Hector, Ryu, and who knows how many innocent people that have been banished because of Meldrick. Defeating him might be the only thing that can save him. Me facing him in the finals is also our last chance to stop him."
"Do you really think you can beat him?" Laura asked. "You've seen what his Izanami is capable of. That card can completely destroy everything. Plus, it is immune to card effects."
"That's not entirely true." Senshi said as he pulled out his Izanagi card. "Izanagi is immune to spell and traps when it's on the field, but monster effects are another matter. The same must apply for Izanami."
"That's right. You used your Stratos Buster to destroy Izanagi." Rin remembered. "Izanami must have the same weakness."
"And we learned that when it's not on the field, it's another story." Laura said. "You could use your cards to stop Izanami from coming."
"But Meldrick is sure to have some tricks up his sleeve that will allow him to summon Izanami no matter what." Cecilia claimed.
"All of that is true, but every card has a weakness. I just need to figure out Izanami's." Senshi said. "As long as I have Izanagi, I have a chance because Izanagi can counter Izanami's abilities. Besides, losing just isn't an option for me. It's not just because I have to save Houki and everyone else. Obtaining both Izanami and Izanagi might be the keys I need."
"The keys you need? To what?" Rin questioned as they didn't get it, but Charlotte did.
"Wait! I know!" Charlotte said. "Tatenashi told us that those two cards were needed for the spirit of the Great Hero inside Ichika's charm to reveal the truth of himself!"
"Exactly. There's a lot to gain, but also a lot to lose in this duel." Senshi said. The pressure is really on now. Just then, Senshi noticed that Tatenashi wasn't around. "Where is Tatenashi?"
"She said she needed to talk to someone about something." Rin claimed.
...
Conner
Conner was still sulking about his defeat against Ichika. He waited for a moment like that and it ended up being for nothing. Mila wanted to try and cheer him up, but she knew anything she might say could make Conner feel even worse about himself.
"You lost to Ichika? Not really surprising." They were both on their way to the ship and saw Tatenashi was there like she was waiting for him. "That's not me predicting the future. It's just how it was going to be."
"Did you come here to mock me? I might have lost, but keep in mind that I defeated you." Conner said.
"I'm not here to mock you, Conner. I'm just trying to figure out what you're going to do next." Tatenashi said.
"Why do you seem to care about what I do?" Conner said. "You put the idea of forming this tournament in my head. I did this to prove that I was the best, but it ended up being for nothing now."
"Conner, you play a bigger part in the Great Hero's life than even I thought." Tatenashi said. "I'm just trying to see what you're going to do next. Now that you lost, are you going to cry about it like a baby? Aren't you going to watch the finals in your own tournament? If you're not just because you lost, you're a bigger child than I thought."
"Hey! Leave my brother alone!" Mila said as she wasn't going to stand for anyone mocking him.
"You keep talking about this Great Hero. Are you talking about Orimura?" Conner questioned.
"That's right. Haven't you been paying attention?" Tatenashi said. "You were at my family's museum and saw the tablet of a great warrior that saved the world. Ichika is connected to that warrior thanks to the powers that lie within his charm. Inside his charm lies a spirit of a great warrior that saved the world from darkness thanks to the power of Izanami and Izanagi, as well as eight magical items."
"Really? Ichika?" Mila questioned.
"Don't believe her, Mila. This is all just nonsense." Conner said as he simply refuses to believe what's right in front of him.
"Still in denial? Things would be a lot easier if you just go with things. You know, just go with the flow." Tatenashi claimed. "You seriously need to lighten up."
"What I need is for you to mind your own business." Conner said as he attempted to walk around her.
"Whether you believe it or not, Conner, Ichika is connected to the Great Hero. His next opponent is a malicious force that could throw the world into chaos." Tatenashi said. "The reason I tell you all of this is because you should see it with your own eyes. Maybe you'll be a believer yet." Conner just ignored her and kept going with Mila following after him. 'Conner is more special than I thought. There's certainly something about him. Even if he doesn't believe it, his fate is intertwined with the Great Hero.' Tatenashi can see that Conner plays a bigger part in whatever comes, but Conner needs to see that with his own eyes.
"Attention, everyone! The final duel shall begin soon! Will both duelists please report to the duel field?!" An announcement was made with the last duel of the tournament soon to begin. The hour of the final showdown is about to begin.
...
Senshi
"Well, it looks like it's time." Senshi said as he was ready to go. "It's time to end things with Meldrick once and for all."
"And we're all going to be there for you." Cecilia said. "You're going to need all the support you can get against a vile and devious man."
"Cecilia's right. There's no way we're letting you be lost just like everyone else." Rin said with Charlotte and Laura in full agreement. This is the moment they've all been waiting for. Meldrick was set to go himself with Oberin following after him. Conner heard the announcement himself and what Tatenashi said really got to him. Still, he prefers doing things his own way.
...
The Tower
Everyone was gathering at the top of the tower for the final duel to commence. Meldrick and Oberin were the first to arrive. Soon, Senshi and the other girls followed after. Even Tatenashi stuck around to watch this duel. The two of them stood facing each other as the moment they both have waited for is here. There's no turning back now.
"Well, Great Hero, this is it." Meldrick said. "For your sake, you better hope that Izanami ends up on the bottom of my deck."
"Joke while you can, Meldrick. Your reign of terror will soon come to an end. Not another innocent soul will be lost to the likes of you!" Senshi claimed. Everyone was watching this one. The moment that all the duelists have been waiting for is here. After this duel, there will only be one winner of the Dueling City Tournament. What's more is that many don't know that this duel could decide the fate of the world. If the Great Hero falls, there's no telling what could become of the world. Not to mention that innocent lives could be lost to the shadows if Senshi and Ichika were to lose this duel.
"All right! We will now begin the final duel!" Tate announced.
"Wait just a minute!" All of them looked towards the entrance and saw Conner stepped forward with Mila following. "If anyone is going to emcee this duel, it will be me. This is my tournament after all."
"Oh! Of course, sir!" Tate said as he easily backed down.
"I knew you would show." Tatenashi claimed.
"Spare me your talk, Tatenashi. I'm only here because this is my tournament and I should see how it ends." Conner said. "Ichika isn't some famous hero. The world isn't in danger. So, I would thank you if you let me do things my way and keep your fantasies out of my business."
"Stubborn to the end I see." Tatenashi said as it seemed like there was really no getting through to him.
"Okay! The final duel of the Dueling City Tournament will now begin!" Conner announced. "Our two duelists are Meldrick and Ichika Orimura! These two have proven to be resilient, determined, and among the best duelists there is! Now it's time to see which one is truly the one and only best!"
"And that will be me." Meldrick claimed. "Soon, all the power you have will be mine."
"Good luck, Master." Oberin said.
"Let's end this, Meldrick!" Senshi called. All of them waited with anxiety of what's about to happen.
"Before we do begin, a little change of scenery for what will be your final duel!" Meldrick said as he used the powers of his gauntlet and let the shadows enveloped around the field again. This is what the girls were afraid of. With whatever comes of this, it raises the stakes even more. Once it's all over, only one will walk out of the shadows. The finals of the tournament is now about to begin.
