It was quiet after Shikamaru finished explaining all the important events that were going to happen in the future. He had to admit that it felt good to unburden himself and tell someone else what he had kept secret for so long. It was a risk he had to take, he needed Jiraiya's help to train Naruto and control the power of the Kyuubi and to keep things going according to his plan. The Nara could see was Jiraiya barely breathing as he kept going over the information in his head again and again not letting any detail the boy told him to slip away.

Finally, he raised his head to Shikamaru, who was still in his place. "So I guess you know about Naruto..." he said with a rusty, lifeless voice.

"You mean the fact that he is the Jinchuuriki of the Kyuubi and son of your student Minato Namikaze who became the fourth Hokage, yes I think I do," Shikamaru said.

His answer was the last proof Jiraiya needed, the Sannin understood the truth that was in front of him and accused him of things that had not yet happened but was going to happen, "And what are you doing here?, are you here to torment me by the fact that I am going to die by my students hands or lost the love Of-" The Sanin began to say before Shikamaru cut him off.

"No Jiraiya! I came to change it!" Shikamaru shouted loudly and made the older man fall back. "Something terrible is going to happen in the future and neither of us has the power to change it, something that will destroy the entire world mercilessly! It's a force greater than anything we have ever seen and even in the future we failed to defeat it and lost so much..." He gave Jiraiya his hand "I need your help Jiraiya, I ask you to trust me and help me change the future!" Shikamaru waited impatiently for the reply of the Sannin.

After a few seconds, Jiraiya with a trembling hand grabbed Shikamaru's little hand and squeezed it hard. "I agree! I'll do what is necessary to prevent the future that you said from happening!" He said with determination and power he never felt before. The Sannin was always doing things in his slow, lazy way, but he felt a desire to keep the people he loved safe. The two shook hands and mentally signed the deal between them, and it was clear that Jiraiya would not want to be part of Shikamaru's future and he was going to do anything to prevent him.

"So Shikamaru-san I wanted to ask something-" The Sanin began to say before the Nara interrupted.

"Shikamaru is fine, Jiraiya, it will look suspicious if you will address me that way."

"Ok, I know that this may be a minor detail against what is going to happen in the future, but I wanted to ask about the Ninja from Kumo, and I suspect you know something about it..."

Shikamaru shook his head and began to tell his new partner "That's true, I was the one who killed him and caused no traces to lead me. The real goal that they sent the peace delegation was to sneak into the Hyuga compound and kidnap Hinata the heiress of the Hyuga clan which you met a few days ago by the way".

Jiraiya could remember the little girl who was undoubtedly Hiashi's daughter who had once been one of his students but was silent and let Shikamaru finish.

"They were hoping to use it to get the byakugan, in my original time the one who captured the kidnapper was her father, Hiashi who killed the kidnapper that night and as they tried to blame Kumo, they claimed we killed one of their strong and veteran ninjas and asked Hiashi's head for compensation. What happened was that Hiashi's brother sacrificed himself in order to maintain peace and prevent war. " Shikamaru took a breath and saw that he was barely able to keep himself from trembling with anger. "But what I decided to do was to make sure that Naruto was the one who saved her from the kidnapper while I made sure to kill him myself."

"Wait, did you say you wanted Naruto to save her? Why him and not you? Why not avoid it completely and just show that this is what Kumo was up from the beginning?" The Sanin asked. the whole thing seemed more complicated than it could have been.

"The reason is that Naruto grew up, he was always alone, without friends or family or anyone to take care of him, and the only person who cared about him was Hinata, so I just decided to speed up the process." He finished with a big smile.

"Ok, so what do you need from me ?, How can I help?" Jiraiya asked as he accepted the simple answer and did not argue for the moment.

"I need a lot of things for you to do, but for starters, I need you to help Naruto learn how to use the power of the Kyuubi and train us."

"The Kyuubi?! There is no chance that he will be able to deal with his chakra now! Maybe in a few years but definitely not now!, The body of someone his age is too weak to handle this power and if he will try to control it. It could destroy him or mess with his head!".

Shikamaru was pleased to see the concern on the Sanin's part and continued with his words, "It doesn't have to be now but it's fine, and the next thing I need you to do is...".

"So Jiraiya, do you have news about the Kumo representative's location?" Asked Sarutobi sitting behind his desk with his pipe in his hand. He sat in his office when the Sanin was in front of him, the old Hokage was already tired of everything that happened with Kumo and the harassment and demands they had sent him to compensate for the loss of their ninja. He sincerely wanted to be done with the whole affair with them and return to the peace talks as sone as possible after the case.

"Yes sensei, I checked over and over again, but I could not find anything, I also checked with my sources of information at the border and I didn't find anything at all. It's as if the earth had swallowed him up," said Jiraiya folding his hands.

Sarutobi was afraid that was his student's answer but he also expected this possibility and took a deep puff from his pipe and began to think of how to inform Kumo of the fact that they had lost one of their representatives who were in the village for peaceful purposes, and that was not something he had ever expected. "I understand, so I guess I'll have to give them some sort of compensation, so what about you Jiraiya? I guess you'll leave the village soon?" He finally asked his student in the hope of taking his thoughts off Kumo at least for the time being.

"To tell you the truth, I thought I'd stay in the village for a bit," said the Sannin, watching the surprised response of the third Hokage.

"Really Jiraiya? It's not like you to want to stay in the village without good reason," replied the old Hokage.

"I have no special reason teacher, I just thought it was nice to see how the village changed while I was away" lied Jiraiya to his teacher, he did not like the fact that he must hide something from his teacher but the ultimate goal was more important than anything.

"I see..." Sarotobi said, looking out of the window of his office. He had the feeling that his old student was not telling him the whole story but he had trusted Jiraiya and let the subject remain closed.

Later that day...

"Shikamaru, what is he doing here?" Asked Naruto, who looked at his brother and s man he had not expected to see again so quickly.

Shikamaru stood in front of Naruto and Hinata in the same woods they used to practice as usual, but this time Jiraiya stood behind the Nara. "Naruto, Hinata I want to introduce you to our new teacher Jiraiya the toad Sunin!" The Nara said.

The two children looked at Shikamaru with different expressions, Naruto impressed by the power of the Sannin but remembered the fact that he looked at the girls in the hot springs and looked at him with narrowed eyes while Hinata hid behind Naruto as the thought of learning from someone staring at girls was so strange that it worried her.

"Hello, Naruto and Hinata! I know our first meeting was not the best, but I can assure you that it was only because of a mission I had." The Sannin finished and went down to his knees so as not to frighten the two who were much smaller than him.

"A mission that you need to peek at girls?" Asked Naruto with doubt in his voice.

Jiraiya shook his head. "No, I was looking for clues about someone important that disappeared and returned to his village, and I had to check every corner."

At that moment, Naruto began to panic as Hinata began to tremble slightly still holding his shirt. The thought that someone as strong as the person in front of him might know that he attacked the Kumo ninja worried the Jinjuriki while he thought of the safety of his brother who was in charge of the assignment and Hinata that hid behind him.

"And I discovered something very important." Naruto could see Jiraiya's hand moving toward him, he closed his eyes in fear as he pushed Hinata behind him reflexively. He could feel the hand of the Sannin on his head that had begun to play with his hair and made him look to see Jiraiya smiling at him with a toothy grin.

"It was very brave of you to go against an older Ninja to save the Hinata," said Jiraiya in a quiet, proud voice and took his hand off the Jinjuriki's head.

"Y-you know about-".

"That he tried to kidnap the girl hiding behind you? Yes, I know." Jiraiya could see Hinata was looking at him, or rather peeked from behind of her blond shield.

"You must be Hinata! I already met you when you were born, but I guess you don't remember me."

"Do you know me?" She asked with a frightened voice but calmed down when she realized that the Sanin was not going to hurt her or her two friends.

"Of course! I was your father's teacher when he was a genin after all!" He answered her question with a smile.

The two eyes opened in amazement, "You were her father's teacher? How old are you anyway?!" Asked Naruto but did not get an answer from the Sanin while he was still concentrating on Hinata.

"Y-you trained m-my father?" The little Hyuga asked, the fact that her father was the strongest in her clan and no one could say otherwise, so to meet his teacher was someone she had never expected to see or have the honor to meet him.

Shikamaru watched the conversion of the three with a big smile, he was glad to see that they got along so well with their new teacher and would be happy to learn from someone so strong.

A few months had passed since Jiraiya decided to stay in the village and began to teach the three kids, he had to admit that for their ages they were no less than astonishing.

The first was Hinata, her control of her chakra was almost as good as Tsunade without her bad temper and monstrous power. She was too gentle to control the fighting style of her clan, which was firm and strong than delicate and precise. Fortunately, Jiraiya was used to fighting with someone elusive and very precise and he began to teach her the style of his former friend, without the snakes and the reptiles. And to his great surprise, she began to adopt the basic principle he had passed on to her and began to develop it more and more without even her noticing and with some corrections and instructions he was sure this new style would have the power even her clan would be happy to add.

The second was Naruto, his control was not as good as the Hinata's but he was not as bad as Jiraiya thought, he had an astronomical amount of chakra because of his Uzumaki blood and because he contained the Kyuubi. He was something like a challenge for the Sanin, no matter what he threw at the blond boy he was always able to learn them in the fastest ways, he guessed it was something because of the unique training method that only he could do. Naruto was not someone who could learn things the usual way and always found original ways to learn the methods of fighting Jiraiya. He also began to learn the art of sealing after he begged Jiraiya to teach him when he learned that the Sanin was a master of the arts who taught the Fourth Hokage.

And the third was Shikamaru, with Shikamaru not having too much to work on. He was a genius and it was clear, he knew techniques and strategies for every situation and all the possibility not to mention the fact that he came from the future. The only things missing from the young Nara were power and chakra, and that was exactly what he was working on. He trained himself especially to increase his chakra and strengthen his body and energy, and these were things he was weak even when he was a Jounin. Something he would need to change.

The four had just finished their training for that day and followed Jiraiya to the restaurant after he had decided to invite them for a snack before returning to their homes. Naruto ordered a large bowl of ramen and began devouring it with a smile, and Hinata also ordered a bowl of ramen but smaller than Naruto's and began eating it at her own pace. And finally, Shikamaru ordered steak and ate it at a slow pace while enjoying the taste.

"This Raman is just great! Thank you for treating us Jiraiya-sensei!" Said Naruto with a smile and continued to eat at a fast and systematic pace, after the little blond had learned who he was and how strong he was. He began to respect him more and the fact that he kept his word and didn't peek any more girls helped Naruto trust him much faster.

"Thank you very much Jiraiya-sensei!" Hinata replied that she had used the opportunity to thank their teacher. It was clear that the little Hyuga had begun to get used to and even love the time she had spent with Shikamaru, Jiraiya and especially Naruto. She was still a bit shy with people from her clan but her confidence had changed a lot. "But what is the reason you invited us?" She finally asked as she giggled that she saw Naruto, who eat his food in a cute way.

"Well, there's really no special reason, I just thought we could all sit and eat together than just practice! You've all grown very strong since the first time we started," he said with a smile. "But you're still not on my level, I'm after all the great Jiraiya-sama!" He finished and received a laugh from the three who had gotten used to the strange and amusing personality of the Sanin.

The three accepted his answer and continued to enjoy their food with little talk here and there, and after they had finished their meal, they parted from Jiraiya, who had disappeared to his business. Naruto and his brother Shikamaru accompanied Hinata to her clan's compound as they were all tired, full and happy.

"It was just great! it was really nice of him to invite us!" Said Naruto, who led Shikamaru and Hinata who were at his sides.

"That's right! and I didn't think I would love Ramen even if it's not as delicious as cinnamon rolls!" Hinta replied with a smile.

"I still can not believe you've never tasted Ramen Hinta-chan, and with you binge the heiress then you can probably eat it whenever you want!. I'm so jealous of you!" Yelled Naruto and made his brother and Hinata laugh.

"If you love it so much I can to tell Mom that you prefer ramen over her food, I'm sure she'll be very happy..." he began to say as Shikamaru watched Naruto's expression change instantly.

"I was just kidding Shikamaru! You know that Mama's food is the best there is! but ramen is also delicious...".

Hinata began to laugh sweetly when she heard the answer of the blond Jinjuriki, "You're so different from Naruto-kun, sometimes it's hard for me to believe you two are brothers."

"well to tell you the truth Hinata, Me and Naruto are not brothers-" he began to say before he felt Naruto's hand shut his mouth and prevented him from finishing the sentence and pulled him away from the Hyuga.

"What do you think you're doing? why are you telling Hinata-chan a thing like that!?" Asked the blond with a frightened look. He did not want Hinata to treat him differently if she would know he was adopted by Shikamaru's family.

"It's all right Naruto, Hinata is different from everyone, trust me." The Nara finished with a confident smile and he looked in the direction of the Hinata who looked at the two with a confused look. 'If there's someone who will love you no matter what it's her'.

Naruto stood up in front of the little Hyuga while Shikamaru watched them from behind the blond. "T-To continues what Shikamaru said, I'm not really his brother." He took a little breath before explaining to Hinata that he had been adopted by Shikamaru's family.

Hinata looked at Naruto with a little smile. "I know that already Naruto-kun! my guards asked about you both in the village and they've told me that a few days after I met you two".

Naruto was shocked to hear the words from the mouth of the little Hyuga and had difficulty talking until he finally asked her "and you okay with it? it doesn't bother you?".

"Why should it bother me Naruto-kun? No matter what it is, nothing you do will bother me!" She replied with a big smile on her cheeks.

Naruto returned the same smile. "So I guess you don't mind if I eat your cinnamon rolls in the next time we go to the bakery?" Replied Naruto with a sinister smile.

"W-Well maybe there are things you shouldn't do..." She began to say before Shikamaru began to laugh so hard that he jolted the two who had forgotten his existence and seemed embarrassed.

"You're just so cute! I can hear the wedding bells already!" Shikamaru teased the two.

'I'll marry Naruto-kun?!' Thought the little Hyuga whose head was beginning to fill with pictures of her and Naruto at their wedding.

Finally, after Shikamaru stopped embarrassing them, they walked slowly to the doorway of the little Hyuga's house, said Hyuga bid good-bye to them with a smile and a wave. The guards at the entrance were already used to seeing the two young boys who would regularly come in the morning and sometimes at noon to visit and play with their heiress and return with her in the evening. Honestly, they loved to see the quiet, gentle girl who changed and got more confidence while she was with them.

But there were also people who did not like the fact that the heiress was hanging around with the two boys, or rather they couldn't let a certain blonde Jinjuriki will be close to the heiress. These people were the heads of the Hyuga clan, they first noticed when they saw their heir apparent power and potential far more than they ever imagined. And they saw her walking around with two more children. One was Shikamaru Nara, who was the heir to the Nara clan, who was fine in terms of his status and blood, and the other was the Jinjuriki of the nine-tailed demon fox that nearly destroyed their village in the past. It was not someone they wanted to influence their heiress no matter what.

Their way was simple and very efficient, they would just have to explain the situation to Hiashi and make sure that the 'demon boy' did not approach Hinata. Hiashi's father who was also one of the elders of the clan took the responsibility for talking to his son. They had to start immediately and summoned Hiashi to an urgent clan meeting while he was training Hinata who just returned, they sat in their conference room in their usual places. Hiashi sat at the head of the table while the elders of the clan sat opposite of him.

"So what's the reason you decided that we'd need such an urgent meeting?" Asked Hiashi with a little anger in his voice because of their summons that came without warning and interrupted Hinata's practice, he could say without a trace of doubt that he had begun to love to train his daughter and was proud whenever he saw how she grew up strong.

"Yes, Hiashi-sama! The urgent reason is your daughter, Hinata-sama," said one of the old men.

"What about Hinata?" He thought with interest and suspicion, "Something wrong? I was under the impression that she was progressing very well, or did you have any reason that she was not doing something right?" He finally asked with a little venom in his voice.

"No, not at all Hiashi," said Hiashi's father, who entered the conversation. "Her progress is excellent and even the best I've ever seen!" He said with a smile that emphasized what he said. "But the point is we care about it because she's been hanging out with 'him' all day," he said finally, dropping the bomb.

"Who does she hang out with?" Replied Hiashi with a slightly angry tone that demanded an answer, not riddles.

"We recently noticed that Hinata-sama was hanging around with the heir of the Nara clan, Shikamaru Nara." It was quiet for a few seconds before Hiashi's father continued, "and with the nine-tailed Jinjuriki" he finished, watching the expression on Hiashi's face.

...

They took a few seconds to prosses the fact of what he heard, his little daughter was around with the demon every day for who knows how long!. Anger began to be visible on his face as he frantically activated his byakugan and made the elders move back, fearing that the man would attack them in anger to vent his frustration at them. "And you have kept this fact from me until now!?" He roared angrily.

"No, not at all Hi-Hiashi-sama! We just discovered this fact recently!" One of them tried to say and continued to step back in slow steps.

Hiashi fury was still strong in his body, but he managed to hold himself back in his place and in a more dignified way of sitting. "So I guess you don't want Hinata to be next to someone like him, well you don't have to worry about it. She will not see him again!" Said Hiashi, slamming his fist on the table in front of the elders to pass this point.

He received a lot of smiles and nods from the elders of the clan until one of them raised his hand. "I have something to add to the Jinjuriki." He received a nod from Hiashi who told him to continue. "According to my sources tell me, Shikaku-sama's family adopted the Jinjuriki as his son" he finished and let the fact enter their heads before they began to talk.

"what? Are you serious?".

"Are you sure your sources are correct? This is the jonin commander here we are talking about after all".

"I heard something like that too, but I thought it was just a stupid and baseless rumor circulated by the Civil Council".

"Apparently it's not so baseless after all!".

The elders of the clan began to talk about the fact that they had not imagined something like this ever happening, while Hiashi remained with his thoughts and a new plan to get to the bottom of the matter with the Nara and to be sure that the demon would not come near Hinata ever again.
